Chapter 6 – The Gray Christmas

Arcturus was in his room looking himself at the mirror and evaluating the robes that his wife chose for him, it was to colorful in his opinion, although he liked other colors then black, his wife would never let him go to a ball, looking like he that was going to a funeral, so she chose something akin of a grey and green. He stood proud wearing the finest silk showing the crest of the house of Black in his chest.

The ball the Blacks were going was being sponsored by the new minister o magic that was appointed, not too long ago. In the past he would proudly go, but now after Potter's situation he didn't want to face the other Houses yet.

That day after Potter got out of their house while hissing in Parseltongue, he call another meeting to discuss what they just heard.

Flashback:

The stunned silence that Potter last left in the room was long and agonizing for Arcturus

"That... that little.." Walburga finally getting out of the spell her husband put on her was shaking in anger.

"He's a Parselmouth? The boy sure is full of surprises." Cassiopeia remarked.

"He's just a kid, all what he said were lies." Pollux added.

At some point of the rushed commentaries he had to intervene. "Silence!" It was a harsh but low tone.

The room again was in silence all of them looking at Arcturus expectantly. For several seconds no one said a word, but Melania with her doubts asked.

"You already knew Potter, the day Dorea called you there, you discovered a lot of secrets, didn't you, husband?"

Arcturus closed his eyes not answering his wife for a moment then nodded his head.

"So you knew about the boy, why didn't you tell us." Pollux narrowed his eyes

"Yes i knew, but it was not especially Potter, it was more an information that could eventually prevent us from choosing the wrong path." Arcturus explained.

"What are you talking about, brother?" Pollux asked not liking this discussion

Arcturus looked at his son for some help who nodded and said.

"Father told me and Cygnus some days ago that aunt Dorea is preventing us from joining the Knights..." He was rudely interrupted

" What!? I knew she was a traitor." Walburga snarled

"Be quiet woman" This time Arcturus lost his patience and yelled with every air he had in his lungs." The leader of the knights is a half-blood." His breathing quickened. "And Potter's right you are a hypocrite. We are all hypocrites. We speak about blood but we would be following a half-blood if was not for my sister. So I will change that, I will prevent us from ending ourselves. So, quit shouting, Walburga. I'm already having a headache." Everyone looked at Arcturus with surprise, not because of the shouting but the information.

" He's a half-blood? How do you know that?" Cassiopeia inquired with a single narrowed eye, being lied to was not a thing Black woman liked.

Calming himself, Arcturus looked at Cassiopeia and wetted his lips. "Tom Marvolo Riddle."

Cassiopeia frowned looking confused but soon her eyes bulged open. "The squib. I heard she were in love with a muggle, but how... I heard that he didn't loved her back." She whispered trying to digest the information.

"Love potion." He said bitterly. "And maybe she could have casted Imperio on the muggle."

"So... she's not much of a squib then?" Cassiopeia asked rhetorically.

"Who are this Gaunts." Druella asked curiously.

Then Pollux explained. "Gaunts were a family of pure-bloods with direct ancestry of Salazar Slytherin, they were all Parselmouths."

Cygnus then pondered a little. "Then the Potter boy is also descendent of Salazar Slytherin?"

Irma, knowing a little more about the subject, said. "That would be impossible, the last Gaunts are in Azkaban, for muggle assaulting and other things. And the other direct descendent are the Peverells who are long gone."

Before they could become lost in thought about Potter origins Arcturus intervened. "That's enough. This meeting is for us to decide what we will do in the verge of war."

"I say we still stay with the Knights." Walburga said raising her nose imperiously.

"Even after you learned that the Heir of Slytherin is a half-blood?" Melania asked the snob witch.

Snorting she answered. "I don't believe Potter. He's just a boy, fantasizing about a world with living and loving muggles." Most of the Blacks just shook theie heads, at her stubbornness.

Arcturus furrowed his brows. "You're being naivy, Walburga. Potter is very persuasive and knowledgeable. If I gave him more time maybe, he would get out of here with two or three more Blacks. He's no joke, Walburga."

Before Walburga could talk, a grinning Cassiopeia said. "Maybe you are the kid on dreamland here Walburga. If the Potter boy was way older I would be following him. And maybe, like Arcturus said if the boy had more time to do his speech I would have been a gray witch by now." Raising her eyebrows at everyone in the room she finished with a sarcastic laugh. "And I would not be alone in this."

"Surely you are joking." Druella said.

Laughing more Cassiopeia snorted. "You should have seen your face."

Seeing everybody's eyes on her she shifted in her seat a little. "W-well the young boy really said some passionate things about protecting family that I quite agree, I would do anything for my daughters."

"You're all delusional. Sure I agree the boy made a good speech, and he is quite scary." Walburga said indignantly, lowering her voice as much as possible when saying the boy's scary. "But you're exaggerating when saying that we would follow him, just because he said some lies and threatened us a bit."

Arcturus took a deep breath to calm himself. Walburga is too stubborn, for his tastes. Maybe she was trying to persuade them and failing miserably. "Did you not heard what I said Walburga? Today he already got out of this house with one follower."

All heads, besides of Cassiopeia's snapped at him with different expression. After a moment they started to all looked at each other suspiciously.

Cassiopeia started to laugh again. "Merlin, you are all too funny."

Arcturus sighed again. "Don't start accusing each other. If one of you was that person, I would order you to leave."

The black accusers turned to Arcturus with confused faces. "So, who?" Druella asked.

Arcturus raised an incredulous eyebrow not only for Druella's but all of the Blacks nativity "Bellatrix."

There was a silence, they were clearly thinking hard about this but Walburga yelled again. "Impossible!?" There was doubt in her voice. She was doubting herself. "Bellatrix is a true black, she is not only powerful but fiercely loyal to us."

"And what about her going to the pub today?" Arcturus pointed to some random direction in the room.

Pollux grunting said. "She committed a grave mistake and she will be punished for that."

Arcturus eyes flashed. "You will do nothing Pollux."

Pollux frowned heavily. "And why is that brother?"

"Because I'm telling you not to." Arcturus said firmly. "If we punish the girl, she will not only distance herself, she will hate us."

Irma, not liking this, said. "She needs to be disciplined, she is a Black, and she will do what she is told to."

Arcturus losing his patience raised his voice. "I also have no doubt in that. She will do what's told to, but not from us anymore, from Potter." Gasps were heard.

"Surely you are exagger..." Irma didn't finished.

"Please, Irma, didn't you see your granddaughter's flushed face as she looked at Potter? If she was older, I would probably say she was having an orgasm just by hearing him speak. "There was not only shock on their faces because of what she said, but also her choice of language as well. No one said anything, so Cassiopeia continued." I saw. her hand twitch whenever Walburga yelled at him, and her face when Arcturus caught her eyes was too amusing."

"And very brave of her too" Arcturus grumbled a little displeased.

Huffing Pollux said. "Then we dishonor her."

A single horrified gasp was heard from Druella. "You can't." Then she looked at the amused Cassiopeia. "You must be mistaken, and saying such things is outrageous." She said firmly.

While Cassiopeia chuckled Pollux frowned. "If she's going to sell herself to Potter, I will cast her out."

Before Druella could shriek, Arcturus rebuked. "Like I said you will do nothing Pollux, you will not touch her, you will not speak to her about this you will not cast her out or dishonor her."

Pollux stubbornly replied. "She's a Black and is going against her family, you..." But he didn't finish because of Arcturus outburst.

"That's the thing... family. We all live in the same house but we are all divided. I will say this only once, to you all. Forget the Knights, we are not to be marked like cattle, this invitation of alliance is clearly an invitation to be a servant. Then there still Dumbledore, no one will follow him, so we ignore it. And finally, the now self-entitled Gray Lord Potter, you all say he's just a kid so we will be neutral and stay together as family for our own survival. Are we understood?" No one answered. "Did you all not heard me? Are we understood?"

After a second the unison response filled the room. "Yes, Lord Black."

"Good. After the end of all meetings we say our house motto, but this time we will forget that. I have to deeply research on its origins, to see if I understand that right." He mumbled thinking of Toujours Pur and waited everyone exit the room.

Cassiopeia was the last to walk towards the door but she stopped an closed letting the two of them alone. She flicked her wand casting a silence spell. "I know there's more than we learned about Potter and I know you are knowledgeable about it. But I trust you brother, and I trust Dorea too, but can you tell me what you really think."

Arcturus gave her a glance with the corner of his eyes and sighed. "Like you, I would be following him already, but the things are not that simple are they? I don't want to lose allies and start from zero. The House of Black is the most important thing to me, I grew up learning about the so loved Toujours Pur like all Blacks. But not too long ago, I learned some things that crushed this reality I lived in. We will just have to wait and see if Potter will bring more allies to his side so we can safely support him." Arcturus paused before finishing. "To all sides I look at, I see our destruction."

Cassiopeia made a serious face while he said all that, but when he finished she gave him a small smile. "You're a good Lord, Arcturus. I think you're doing a good job, trying to get our family together again. Maybe you should contact Marius and Alphard."

Arcturus grunting said. "Not so much of work with Bellatrix though. And maybe I should."

Chuckling a little she tried to comfort him. "Bellatrix is the crazier of all of us, the girl only thinks about power. But she is proud of being a Black. We can only hope Potter will not abuse of her loyalty and treat her right."

Arcturus remembering Potter's memories. "We only can hope. But I think Potter will not be so bad."

"How can you be so sure about the boy who outsmarted you?" Cassiopeia raised a delicate eyebrow grinning amusedly.

Arcturus snorting said. "It's just intuition."

Flashback end:

After that meeting Arcturus started to try and get the family together. He proposed a lot of things to help them to relate more, the cousins and brothers, parents and children started to interact more and grew closer. Sure it was too soon to be sure of things, just a few days passed and they still had a long way to turn into a perfect family but it was a start.

The only one who did not participate was Bellatrix, the girl closed herself, form that day onwards, she started to vanish and stay in her room reading or training in the yard or some other places. The only one she interacted was her sisters, but only when approached first. When Arcturus saw her, normally during supper she would eat with a bored or stoic look, not even spending a glance at them, it was like they were not worth her time or didn't existed. Almost all Blacks seemed displeased by this, but Arcturus said to them not do or say anything to her, just let her be, he was afraid of her hating them, he still had hope Potter could help them. He actually, thought Bellatrix would refuse to go to this ball, but surprisingly she accepted to go.

Giving one last grunt of approval to his robes, he turned to the door exiting it, only to come across with Cygnus, his nephew. Cygnus was one of the few that wanted follow Potter, he felt in debt with the boy whim saved his daughter from her 'innocence', but that was the only reason. Cygnus, like the others, still thought following a boy would bring nothing worth to them.

"Uncle." Cygnus greeted.

Giving a small smile Arcturus motioned for him to approach. "Ah Cygnus, I have some maters to discuss with you."

Cygnus nodded and approach while pondering a little. "What's the matter uncle?"

"Cygnus, I want you do something for me, from now on. Especially today." Arcturus raise a hand to signaled Cygnus he was not finished. "I want you to keep a very close eye on your father, mother and Walburga."

Surprised a little by his uncle's request Cygnus asked. "Do you think they will betray us?"

"Betray? No, betray is a strong word, but I think they will do somethings behind our backs." Arcturus stated.

Cygnus nodding in understanding. "But why me, father will surely suspect of me."

"There's where you wrong, nephew, Pollux thinks he has his tight hands on you, like he had with Bellatrix. But he's wrong, you're a smart man Cygnus, if Orion was not my heir I would surely give the Lordship to you." Cygnus was very surprised now and a little touched by his uncle's honest words.

"Why?" But he was also very curious.

"Orion is a good man, after all I raised him. He listens to me and his mother, but he also listens his wife and the other Blacks, and tha's his problem. He is a very naive person and very easy to persuade. And that is why you also make a good right-hand, you see things in a different way that Orion don't, and you are also very loyal to the family. Which it makes you the opposite of your father." More surprise washed Cygnus mind.

"How so?" More curiosity from Cygnus.

Arcturus pondered a little. "Pollux wanted to join Grindelwald in his time, like him, Pollux don't actually hate muggles, but instead he thinks they should be subversive to us wizards and witches. But at the time the Lord Black denied Grindelwald because we actually knew about the muggle war."

"What?" He was confused now.

"The war Potter said, we knew about it. At some extent, Potter clearly knew more about it than us. But the point is, I just let him talk. I played ignorant and curious, only to let him talk, maybe it was a mistake, but it was what I did." Arcturus confessed. Sighing he continued. "And with just a glance, I shut up Pollux and Cassiopeia."

Opening his mouth and shutting several times. Cygnus emotions changed from confusion to pride "I understand uncle. And do you think it's wise to let Bellatrix this way?"

Arcturus sighed, Cygnus was just worried about his daughter. "Trust me Cygnus, it's better let her go. Let her do what she thinks it's right. I like you want her back but only Potter can help us."

Cygnus nodded hesitatingly. "Alright uncle I trust you, but still the girl is disrespecting us a lot."

Motioning for them to exit the room he talked while walking. "The girl only will obey one person in the world now, and this person is Potter."

When he finished his sentence, in front of them a door opened violently, then a Bellatrix clutching tightly to a book got out. The girl looked around spotting the two of them, not letting any of them inquire what happened, she stormed off huffing clearly angry. Arcturus and Cygnus frowned while looking each other. Soon after a disheveled Druella stepped out of the room with a saddened face.

Cygnus seeing his wife rushed to her. "What happened?"

Druella looked at them sadly and sighed before answering. "You were right Lord Black, we lost her to Potter."

Arcturus just sighed. "What happened?"

"She got angry at me ordering her and said we are all liars and cowards." She explained still looking towards where Bellatrix went.

"That girl, I will..." Cygnus was going to say something but was cut off.

"You will do nothing." Arcturus ordered.

"But why? Druella just said..."

"I know, I heard. Like I said if we try to do something, she will just distance herself even more from us."

"I agree, if we do something she will not just disobey us and not behave herself, she will hate us." Druella added

Arcturus just nodded.

"So we do nothing and just let she disrespect us?" Cygnus still could not accept this.

Arcturus laughed a little desperately. "That's it, or dishonor her, but if we do that we will just broke our family apart. We do not control her anymore."

Nodded Druella. "Yes, Potter does. She just threatened me."

The two looked at her with different emotions.

Arcturus then sighed and started walking. "Come on, we have a party to attend."

Cygnus looked at his wife, who flicked her wand and then looked perfectly again, then started to follow behind Lord Black, without saying anything.

Druella Black stood in a room with her three daughters, making their hairs in the best way she could with a smile on her face. Normally the house-elf would do it or with some magic would be enough, but Lord Black asked them interact and bond even more with their children so she decided to do their hairs. For the party to come.

Narcissa her youngest was sitting aside smiling at her with an already styled bun, while Bellatrix seemed to be reading a book near the window, waiting patiently and finally Andromeda who was in front of her and the mirror, going through her turn.

Her daughters have such beautifully hair that Druella actually, she felt envious of them. The beautiful straight blond hair of Narcissa. The silky and elegant wavy brown hair of Andromeda and there was the voluminous and gorgeous curly hair of Bellatrix. Despite they hair colors being different their faces were very similar, there were some different details, but overall, everyone can say they are sisters. Druella knew her daughters would be very beautiful when they completely mature, they inherited some of the Rosier traits but the Black ones where the striking ones. And the beauty that come mixing the two was an exotic one.

In appearance they were similar, but in personality, Druella could only scoff and giggle.

Narcissa is the princess, she's always act all ladylike and dreams of marrying with a knight in shining armor and have a happy family.

Andromeda acts roguish, she's very caring and loving girl, and is independent and not very easy to dissuade. But when it come to terms of Black woman she's the white sheep in a flock of black ones.

Bellatrix was the perfect Black, loyal and dutiful to her family, besides being powerful and dedicated. But everything changed when Potter appeared days ago, Bellatrix closed herself, she was not obeying anyone anymore, she vanishes from home and appeared late. She didn't know what was happening to her eldest daughter. Druella, thought it was because of the events when Bellatrix was almost raped, that she maybe was closing herself because of this reason. But in that day, before Druella went to sleep she tried to talk to her daughter but she insisted she was fine. Confirming something was wrong, very wrong.

"There, you look beautiful, Andromeda." Druella smiled at the middle daughter, who really looked elegant.

"Thank you, mother" Her daughter returned the smile, but it was false one, Druella knew it. But not because she did her hair, it was the reason behind it. They were getting ready for a social party

Druella waited for Andromeda to move from the chair in front of the mirror then turned and held out her hand towards Bellatrix calling her. "Come Bellatrix, it's your turn now."

Her eldest daughter shook her head with a face that showed disinterest. "It's okay mother, my hair is already perfect." She declined in polite tone.

"Bellatrix, don't be like that, you need to be at your best." She scolded her a little. "Now come and let me help you."

"I said... I don't need it." Druella's breath hitched, it was a low but threatening tone. Bellatrix never used a tone like that towards her, especially at her.

But she didn't back down. "Bellatrix Black, come here and I will make your hair. And put down your book while I'm talking to you." Again her own daughter glared at her so menacingly for a second that scared her. But it faded turning into Bellatrix like smile.

"Like I said mother, I am perfectly well, you don't need concern yourself with me." Then she turned to her book again.

Druella scowled heavily, she looked at Bellatrix who was sitting on the nearby window chair, looking at a book titled 'The Great War', but ignored to call her again more sternly "Bellatrix come sit down here this instant, our time is short. And I already said, put the book away while I'm talking to you." She was utterly ignored by her daughter. Having enough of her daughter, she moved towards her and snatched the book of her hands and glared at her eldest who stiffened." Bellatrix I'm talking to you." She tried again in loud voice.

Bellatrix slowly raised her head with the coldest eyes Druella ever saw. "Like I said, I. Am. Perfectly. Fine." Bellatrix said baring her teeth. That seemed to snap something inside Druella.

"I'm ordering you, Bellatrix Black" Druella growled angrily, but her tone was dismissed by her daughter and just seemed to annoy her even more. Then Druella glanced at the book Bellatrix was reading. Frowning she read the title out loud. "The Great War? What nonsense of a book is this?" She never heard of it. "What's this book about? Don't tell me it's..."

"Muggle? Yes, it's about two world wars" She said with emotionless tone. "Care to give it back? My Lord ordered me to read it and you are being a nuisance."

If Druella shock was evident, imagine the other two in the room. The way Bellatrix said 'nuisance and you', referring to her mother in the same sentence with such... distaste, made their bodies shiver strongly.

Bellatrix was beyond pissed. How dare she, how dare her mother order her around, no one ordered her around anymore, the only one she obeyed was her Lord. And now the woman in front of her was holding the gift her Lord had given her. "I said give it back."

It was rare to Druella punish one of her daughters because anything really, actually she never remember a time she ever raised her hand against her daughters. But this time her anger was room great and unconsciously her hand moved to strike her daughter, but stopped on her tracks when she felt the tip of Bellatrix's wand on her neck. The only thought came to Druella's mind was 'fast'.

"Did you just tried to hit me mother?" Druella gulped and Bellatrix was shaking.

"You... you and all the liars on this house will never order me again, and if you try to touch me... I will kill you." Druella eyes were wide, what's happening to her daughter.

"Bellatrix, what are you talking about? Liars? I am not understanding you." Something was very wrong indeed.

"Don't act like you don't know, you lying bitch." Her daughter snarled at her.

"You all said blood give us power, but you all lied to me, and instead of kill that coward of Slytherin you all just sat here like nothing happened." Her daughter was crazy. "But don't worry mother, soon my Lord will rise and he will show that power come in different ways, that power comes to whom serve him." She was completely mad

"Who told you that Bella?" Druella tried to easy the situation using her nickname with a soft tone.

Bellatrix gritting her teeth growled "Do not call me that, you liar. I didn't give you my permission to call me that."

Druella said nothing but her eyes were clearly showing anger. Permission to call her by her nickname, that was the last straw. The other two in the room were shaking and scared while watching the scene unfold in front of them.

Druella needed to get her other two daughters of the room. " Andromeda, can you please take your sister to the sitting room and wait for the others?" Druella did not take her eyes from Bellatrix

Andromeda nodded slowly. "Y-yes, mother. Excuse us." Andromeda raised from where she was sitting and dragged Narcissa with her, worried about the situation

After they left Druella demanded "Who are you talking about. Is it Potter?" Bellatrix face distorted again to more anger. "Is it him that is putting these ideas in your head?" Druella could feel the tip of the wand in her neck start to shake and press a little more against her. "Is it Potter, this Lord who is putting you against us?" That seemed to snap Bellatrix.

"Shut. Up" Bellatrix snarled. Her mother didn't have the right to call her Lord by his name, she did not have the right to use this kind of tone while talking about him, she did not have the right to demand anything from her. Bellatrix wanted to shout all of this but it stayed stuck in her throat.

"He's just a boy Bellatrix. And a half-bl..." she never finished the sentence. Druella was thrown to the ground painfully.

"I said shut up" Bellatrix yelled. "Blood means nothing. If blood meant something we already be at the top of the world, we would go there and show how much weaker he is. But no all this time my 'family' lied to me. And I finally found it, power comes from those who follow him" She gave emphases on him. "And that's what I want, power, and he's giving me." Then she paused a little her angry face changing to a dreamy one.

"I called him Potter at first too you know, I thought about blood to, but after he appeared and saved me from the clutches not only from a rapist who worked for a self-entitled dark lord, that hides in shadows. But also a lying family, who let things play out and just watches and does nothing when they discover they are being tricked. So much like Dumbledore, isn't it mother?" Bellatrix mocked. "Then after that I started to call him Lord, because, it is what he is. The Gray Lord." She paused with a big smile on her face. "And I. I am his most loyal and trusted servant." She said with so much proud that it radiated through her.

When Lord Black said that they lost Bellatrix to Potter, she did not believe it. But now seeing her daughter so enamored with the boy, no she was already worshiping him.

"Bellatrix... Merlin, Bellatrix." Druella got up and sat down on a near chair sulking.

But Bellatrix didn't finish yet. "I will say this only once, mother. You are my mother and I still hold affection for you, but if you try to go against my lord's will... I will kill you and all of those who stay in his way." And with that her daughter with all the care in the world pick up the book and stormed out of the room.

Druella sighed, when Potter made his speech that day she respected it, but now she was very dissatisfied with it. "Damn it."

Bellatrix stormed of the room with all the anger, disdain and self-satisfaction she had. The last was because she threatened her mother, and she like it.

How dare she? How dare her excuse of a mother, dare to order her and accuse her Lord of putting ideas on her head. Bellatrix glance at the book looking for any damage. Not finding any, she sighed in relief. The book her Lord gave her was very interesting, it showed how their world was bigger than she thought. While they had muggle studies in Hogwarts it was not taught this things, actually it was boring subjects about the ancient history and geography and another minor things.

But her Lord opened her mind to a vast world of different things, ideals, mysteries and the whole knowledge one could get, and while she still thinks she is more powerful than the muggles, and that they are worthless, she could not deny the facts and the knowledge she acquired. Her Lord really opened her mind.

Quickly entering her room, she went to hide the book, in a secret place. Now that her mother knew about the book, she was afraid of losing it, or being 'robbed'.

After securing the book she looked at the mirror and with some wand tricks she was back, looking perfectly beautiful. She let her hair flowing to her back wearing a black party dress and some jewelry. Now, she was ready to go.

Turning on her heels she walked towards the main sitting room where they would go to this minister party. All of them would go, minus the younger ones Sirius and Regulus. Bellatrix heard that Cassiopeia would also stay to take care of them. For Bellatrix, Cassiopeia was a mysterious person, she was always distant, always minding her on, a mysterious woman actually, but loved her family dearly, she respected her until some days ago.

Reaching her destination, she saw everyone waiting for her. The look on their faces disgusted her, some looked at her if she was a squib, other had a suspicion look and some others had pity and worry. But there was one face that almost made her to squeal in pleasure to look at, her mother's. She saw, fear.

Ignoring the glances, she was getting she walked disinterestedly towards them looking regal, but the look on her mother's face made her, at some point give her a predatory smirk, that only her could see. She shivered in delight when she saw her mother look down in submission.

Clearing his throat in a businesslike manner, Arcturus said. "Everyone is here. Remember, we are going representing the Black family." He glanced at Bellatrix at that. "But also we are here to see promissory allies and refuse politely the invitations to join the Knights. We will stay neutral for now."

Everyone nodded, some hesitantly, others distastefully, and others in understanding. Seeing their nods, Lord Black gave the first step. "Then let's go."

Traveling by Floo Network every time was a disaster for Harry Potter, if one thing Harry was not good at it was traveling by the damn Green fire. When he finally landed on the other side he looked around and he was insane by the main Potter manor, it was a very big and beautiful place. Some light greetings catch his attention, when he saw a very beautiful woman with light brown hair standing there with a smile greeting his parents. After she finished with his parents her gaze moved to Harry and a big and bright smile appeared on her face.

"Oh my, and you must be young Hadrian. Come dear, don't be shy. I don't bite." She giggled, it was a very angelic like voice.

Harry looked at her more closely while taking slow steps towards her. He never saw that woman even once, but he could guess it was his grandmother in his past life. Now she was his aunt.

When Harry stopped in front of the woman while fidgeting, he was a little ashamed, but it suddenly vanished when the woman enveloped her arms around his small body.

"I'm Euphemia, your aunt. Please call me auntie." She remembered him of Molly Weasley.

"I'm Harry" His voice was low. This situation was really awkward.

"I know, come Harry lets us meet your uncle and cousin." Euphemia said cheerfully.

Harry's breath hitched and his heart started to beat faster, he's going to meet James.

While following through the house, Harry started to look around him, it was a very beautiful house, lively and very warm in the cold of winter, the word he could describe it would be homely.

"Welcome, Charlus... Dorea." A thick voice made Harry's attention change to a man very similar to Charlus, but looking much regaler. And at his side a young boy between six or seven-year-old who was shifting uncomfortably. Harry could guess it was because of his robe. The boy was James Potter.

"And you must be my nephew, Hadrian Potter." The man who Harry also didn't recognized spoke to him while smiling. "I'm Lord Fleamont Potter, it's a pleasure."

Panicking a little Harry gave the man a bow. "It's nice to meet you, sir. Please call me Harry." Fleamont laughed mirthfully.

"Oh my, it as you told me Dorea, he's quite polite." Euphemia commented while Dorea puffed her chest proudly.

"Please young Harry, call me uncle." Fleamont smirked at the tense boy.

Harry nodded then glanced to the last person in the room that 'he didn't know'.

Harry looked at James who was wearing a horrified look. Tilting his head Harry would ask but James was faster.

"No way he is a Potter." Everyone froze.

"And why is that, James?" Euphemia asked with a forced smile.

"The Potters are not so polite" His face showed a fake distrust.

"James!" Euphemia and Fleamont said in unison.

The boy laughed. "I'm James by the way."

Harry just keep staring, the goofy smiling boy, who apparently tried to joke and got under everyone's skin

Harry nodded. "I'm Harry."

"Cool name." James grinned.

"It's my nickname, my name's Hadrian."

"I will call you Harry."

Harry shared a look and smiled with the easygoing James Potter

Clapping a palm Euphemia smiled at two of them.

"Come sit Harry, I want to know my nephew." She urged excitedly.

Another voice made himself known in the room. "Are you not going to introduce me to my grandson?"

Harry looked at the source and saw an elderly man, maybe the same age as Dumbledore, his hair and beard were white but still was standing there looking young, noble and proud.

"Father?" Harry heard Charlus mutter. Looking at him Harry could see the surprise on his father's face.

"Charlus." The elderly man gave a nod.

There was a silence while the two just looked at each other up and down. Harry confused, looked around for help.

Fleamont seeing his pleading face cleared his throat. "Harry, this is my and Charlus's father. Henry Potter." Fleamont turned to now the old Henry and said. "Father, meet Hadrian Charlus Potter, my brother's and sister-in-law's son."

Harry gave a bow. "It's nice to meet you, sir."

The elderly man glanced at Harry than his younger son and his wife. "He has Black blood then?"

By the tone of his voice Henry did not seem to like the Blacks that much.

Dorea looked at Fleamont for confirmation and he just shook his head. "Yes, Lord Potter. He's also a Black."

Grunting he looked at Harry but before he could say anything Harry was quicker. "I maybe have Black blood, by I'm not some stuck up Dark Wizard." Harry said jokingly while snorting a little.

Everyone looked at him, but it his joke seemed work for Henry Potter. The man started to laugh joyously. "I already like your son, Charlus."

Charlus scratching the back off his head laughed awkwardly, while Dorea glared at her son and husband, promising pain after they are back home.

"Now can we move to somewhere we can sit more comfortably?" Euphemia asked all of them with a little childish whining in her voice.

They moved to a room with a warm and cozy fireplace, sitting in a circle on a couch and few armchairs of the beige color.

Henry sitting on his favorite armchair, when he lived in Godric's Hollow, he started

"So, Harry is it?" Harry nodded. "How old are you?"

"I'm eleven, sir." Henry nodded while grunting. "So you are in Hogwarts?"

Before Harry could confirm, Dorea cut him while puffing her chest and proudly stated.

"Not only that, the Professors are saying he's a genius and a prodigy." Henry glanced at Dorea with a surprised but satisfied smile. "A breed of Potter and Black, it is quite the match."

Intervening, Charlus also said proudly. "You have to see his skills on a broom, father. I dare say he is one of the best flyers I ever seen." Henry raised an eyebrow at his younger son proud statement, but it was James turn to speak.

"You fly?" Harry nodded. "Wow. That's cool. I want to see you fly." James eyes were sparkling with excitement.

Before Euphemia could scold her son, Dorea's displeased voice came first. "No one is going to fly. Especially Harry, he already gave me enough headaches with the letters I received from Hogwarts, asking for Harry join the team."

Henry raised an eyebrow. "Is that so? Are you not exaggerating? The way you talk, people can think that Harry could be the best seeker in a century." Harry smile knowingly.

Charlus chuckling shook his head while grinning. "Ohoh, just you wait, father." Charlus started to go through his robes looking for something. Reaching onto a specific pocket he withdrew a letter.

Dorea's jaw hit the floor. "You actually brought the letter?"

Charlus shrugged. "It was to boast Harry's abilities to Fleamont." Fleamont's eyes started to twitch while Euphemia and James laughed at the patriarch's expression.

"You're impossible Charlus Potter." Dorea scoffed falsely, Harry knew she also wanted to boast his skills to the others.

Charlus handed the letter to his father who started to read. The letter was basically praising Harry skills, not only in Quidditch but also in class. Henry was wearing a proud and happy expression until it vanished when he read the last sentence. "Sincerely yours, Horace Slughorn. Head of Slytherin House."

Henry hand twitched a little while the other Potters had their eyes wide open.

"You're in Slytherin?" James broke the silence with a shout.

"Yeah." Harry said chuckling awkwardly, wanting to hide somewhere.

More silence permeated the room, just to be broke by a horrified James again in a silent mutter this time. "The first evil Potter."

Unfortunately for James he gained a smack on the head by his mother. "He's not evil, James."

"But he's a Slytherin." He whined.

"I was a Slytherin as was your aunt Dorea." This surprised Harry. Sure she was not a Potter when she was at Hogwarts but even so, it surprised him. As for Dorea she was Black and the only one he knew was not a Slytherin was Sirius.

"But mom..." James whined more.

"No buts, James, Harry's not evil and never will be." She spoke with such passion and certainty that warmed Harry's heart.

"So you're a Slytherin?" Harry nodded at Henry's rhetorical question. "Have any friends?" Harry wanted to laugh happily, at his now grandfather's protectiveness and awareness of his friendships, he was grateful for that

Harry smiled at the older man and assured him. "Yeah, I have some friends, do not worry grandfather, they don't come from 'doubtful origins'." Henry seemed surprised by the wits of the boy. "I have a Japanese friend, he's very shy but it's a good guy, his name's Tarou Ito."

Henry grunted in satisfaction. "Honorable and respectable people."

Harry smiled at the older man approval. "Then there's David Davis. He's fun to be around and I think he has a really big heart."

"A Davis?" Henry mulled. "I don't know much about them but if you say the boy is a good friend, so be it."

"Then there's Andromeda Black." Dorea smiled at that, she appreciates Harry being close friends at least with one of the Blacks.

Henry just nodded. Harry seeing his grandfather would say nothing gabout his friendship with a Black he continued. "And the last one I can call a friend for now is, Xenophilius Lovegood. He's a Ravenclaw."

"A Lovegood? Good people, but too much eccentric for my tastes." Harry nodded chuckling remembering of Luna and Xeno. "Quite the different friends, you have, Harry."

"I am also acquaintance with the Prewitt twins. They are cool." Harry pondered.

"They're also Slytherin's?" James asked.

Harry shook his head confusedly. "No, they are Gryffindors."

"And they don't hate you? How do you are friends? I thought Slytherins and Gryffindors hated each other." James horrified voice made Euphemia smack him again.

"I don't hate anyone, in fact my favorite teacher is the head of Gryffindor." This caught the attention of Henry, who was looking amused at his two grandchildren.

Then Henry asked. "Dumbledore?" The other adults in the room flinched at the name. Some of them inwardly mocking the absurd that Harry's favorite Professor would be the old goat.

Harry shook his head and smiled. "No it's Minnie." Everyone looked amused at the pet name and Harry reaction, who quickly corrected himself. "Ehm, it's Minerva McGonagall. Dumbledore is the Headmaster now. I don't know what happened to Dippet." Harry explained with little details

Henry nodded. "Dumbledore is a good man."

Charlus snorted loudly that. But before that Henry could ask what the problem was James voice boomed with a lot of mirth on it.

"And she lets you call her that?"

Harry scratched the back of his head chuckling awkwardly. "No, but I do it anyway. She gave me some detentions but still I called her Minnie, she then tried to cast a silence spell on me but I countered or dispelled easily every time." Now Harry was laughing but still awkwardly. "Minnie is cool."

James shinning eyes told everything. "I take back everything I said about you being evil. You're definitely a Potter."

Again James got a smack on the head for free, while Harry smiled. He was having a good time.

A clearing throat caught his attention, It was Fleamont. "I have some business to discuss with Charlus and father why don't you show Harry the house, love?"

Both husbands and wifes looked at each other and nodded. "Come Harry let's show you our house." Harry looked at Euphemia and nodded getting up. Then he looked at Dorea questionably, who also got up and started to follow him. "You too James c'mon."

"Can Harry show me his skills in flying?" James asked while living the room.

"No" Dorea denied simply, but when she looked at James puppy dog eyes she relented. Even Harry was surprised by that.

"Okay, just be careful Harry." And with that they left the three older man alone.

There was a silence between the three Potters before Fleamont started. "We have a lot to talk about." It was a serious tone.

"We have, we have indeed." Henry nodded.

Soon all the Potters would now the truth about Harry Potter and decide their next move to ensure the safety of their family and House.

The Blacks arrived at the party hall that was being held by the new Minister of Magic, Arcturus could see a lot of families in the huge place. There were families both dark and light, as well neutral ones. Being presented got a lot of unwanted attention, but it was inevitable, they were an Ancient and Noble House after all. Some smiled falsely at them, others scowled but overall their arrival brought whispers and rushed voices in their direction that was quite normal for them. Giving his arm to his wife, she interlocked and the started to walk in to the center of the ballroom, the neutral side of things.

Walking Arcturus started to look around see if any one of them looked threateningly at them, he had to pay attention even more now that Bellatrix made that foolishness that surely got to Tom Riddle ears. But a sole family got his attention in the neutral side, the Malfoy's. Like the Blacks, the Malfoy's also were holding their grounds regarding the alliance with the Knights. So Arcturus looked at his wife giving her a gentle smile and started to walk towards the head of House of Malfoy, Abraxas Malfoy.

Abraxas Malfoy was a blond, green eyed gentleman, what Arcturus could tell is that the man was very proud and very influential politically. Arcturus wouldn't say they are friends but colleagues with similar minds. Abraxas for the same reason as Arcturus decided to be more doubtful with the ideas of subjugating muggles and the supremacy of blood, but still he found himself better and superior than any of them.

Lord Malfoy was looking amusedly at a young boy being scolded by a woman at his side.

Realizing Arcturus and Melania approaching Abraxas turned to them smiled and greeted. "Ah, Lord Black. Lady Black. Good evening."

Arcturus and Melania returned the polite smile and the greeting. "Good evening Lord Malfoy. I hope you remember my wife." Lord Malfoy nodded and kissed the woman's hand.

"Of course, and I hope you remember mine." He motioned to the woman at his side. "And this is my son Lucius." He signaled to the young boy that was being scolded.

Politely the boy bowed. "Good evening Lord and Lady Black." Then kissed Melania's knuckles.

Giggling a little Melania said. "Oh my, your son is quite the charmer Lady Malfoy."

Reciprocating the giggle. "I agree. Lucius can be quite the gentleman sometimes." The woman went on with the conversation letting the boy blush and sulk on the side.

Abraxas chuckling turned to Arcturus. "How's things going Arcturus, I see you are still on the neutral side."

Grunting in agreement he answered. "In health, we are especially good. But politically." He finished with a face.

Smiling Abraxas said. "I know, ever since father passed, I have to go here and there trying to no be manipulated and not doing the wrong choices. I don't want things turning out like Grindelwald, again.

"Do you know anyone who joined them?" Arcturus asked hopingly.

Thinking a little Abraxas replied. "I think the Carrows, Rowles and the Notts." Carrows didn't surprised Arcturus they are quite fanatical family. Rowle he already knew, one of Potter's victims and Nott was one of Arcturus colleagues, he lost another possible ally.

"These things with the Knights, are quite suspicious." Arcturus tried to get more information sticking to the matter.

Abraxas nodded at that. "Didn't you know?" Arcturus looked curiously at him. "Three Heirs died some days ago, also the oldest daughter of another pure-blood family. They say it was the half-bloods and 'mudbloods' assaulting some of the pure-bloods." Arcturus snorted, they already are making up some lies to cover their tracks and to gain more support.

"What do you think about it?" Arcturus carefully asked.

Shrugging Abraxas said. "I don't know the whole story, so I can say anything for sure. This is all a mystery and I'm not so brave to walk through the darkness without a light." Arcturus felt the same. Abraxas then frowned at him. "And what do you think, Lord Black? What's your opinion?"

Arcturus pondered a little, he then looked at the center of the hall where he had the clear view of all sides, the people, families, houses, wizard and witches that composed the now crowded hall. Instead answering, he lowered his voice in a dark tone and asked. "What do you see Lord Malfoy?"

Malfoy frowned. "What do you mean, what do I see?"

Arcturus motioned to the crowd and said. "Look at this crowd, wizard and witches then tell me what you see?"

Confused Abraxas answered honestly. "I don't know, maybe people enjoying the Christmas eve with their families? The minister more than others." He answered while chuckling.

Arcturus grinned at his joke but changed back to a somberly expression, while his voice was still the same. "Do you know what do I see? I see cattle waiting to be slaughtered." Abraxas actually looked at him startled.

"I knew the Blacks were dark but not like this." Arcturus wanted to laugh at his coment.

But choosing he shook his head. "This is not originally my thinking."

Raising his eyebrows. "Do tell who thinking is it?"

"A Potter." It was low, but Abraxas heard him but decided to not ask or talk further.

"Well Abraxas, I hope if you decide to refuse the alliance, you contact me, surely we can come to terms while in the same side." Arcturus finally recomposed of the dread mood and look at his wife direction, who was talking to Lady Malfoy motioning they were going to find the rest of the family.

Abraxas smiled. "I'm glad I can have an ally if I decide to refuse. And thank you Lord Black, I will certainly contact you as soon as I decide what to do."

"Have a pleasant evening Abraxas." Arcturus turned to his wife and started to walk towards her.

"Same to you, Arcturus." He also turned to his son and wife who were giggling at something.

Arcturus one last time sighed, before he and his wife, went to find the rest of the family

Andromeda did not like social parties, they were boring, filled with boring people, doing boring things even the food was the boring kind. Currently she was in a table with her sisters and mother, engaging in a light conversation with her younger sister and her mother, Bellatrix her older sister was... distracted. A few days ago she started to act strangely, and strangely meant reading muggle books and talking about someone she called Lord. At first, she thought Bellatrix was making some kind of joke or finally succumbing to her cousin's behavior, Sirius. But when she witnessed that fight between sister and mother, she really though something happened and it was very wrong. And what surprised her more was her family did nothing about it, no talk, no punishment, not even some questioning or whatever. Another thing that change was her mother behavior when she came from the room where the discussion had happened. She could see the glances Druella shot at Bellatrix but she quivered when Bellatrix shot the glances back.

Looking at her sister, she saw the currently girl sat cross-legged an elbow in the table and head resting on her hand, she looked beyond bored, and normally when they had this parties Bellatrix was very eager to go.

"Andi" She heard Narcissa call her with a whining like tone, removing her from the thoughts.

Her head snapped to her sister but it was her mother who talked. "You're daydreaming Andromeda, I know you don't appreciate much of this kind of events, but bear with it" Her mother flashed her an apology smile.

Andromeda shook her head a little but did not answer her mother, instead turned to her younger sister and asked. "What is you want Narcissa, can you repeat?" She gently asked

Pouting she motioned with her head to one of the direction of the Hall and said. "Look over there, that ridiculous dress that lady is wearing."

Andromeda looked at where her sister pointed and saw her Herbology Professor. She knew little about the woman but indeed it was a very extravagant and colorful dress that the woman was wearing. But what actually, caught her attention on that side, was a friendly face. David Davis.

Turning to her sister Andromeda flashed her an amused smile. "It's my Herbology Professor. She's quite an extravagant woman"

Narcissa raised a delicate eyebrow. "Really?" Seeing Andromeda nod, she huffed. "So tacky." Andromeda smiled at her sister, she was indeed the princess of the house.
Turning to Davis direction she saw him talking to another kids of their age, he also like her looked very bored.

Deciding that she wanted to wash away the boredom, she turned to her mother. "Mother, can I go say hello to one of my Hogwarts friends?"

Before her mother could open her mouth a voice nearby spoke to her. "And who's this friend of yours Andromeda."

Looking towards the sound, she saw her aunt Walburga sitting on the table beside theirs. "It's David Davis, aunt." She pointed to David's direction.

Walburga followed her niece gaze and her face change to disgust. "You will..." She never finished.

"Go, Andromeda, but stay where your mother can see you." Andromeda snapped her head to the new voice and saw her great-uncle Arcturus standing behind her with her great-aunt Melania.

Andromeda gave him a smile and bowed elegantly. "Thank you, Lord Black." Then she turned and started to walk to Davis direction, but not without hearing a snarl coming from her aunt.

Andromeda ignored her aunt and with light but large steps she approached David. "Already bored? I though you are the group's party goer." She startled her distracted friend.

"Please. As if a Black didn't know that." She made a face, but he continued. "Oh, sorry. You are the strange one in your family." He finished smiling

She adopted a thoughtful look. "Hmm, it's been eventual. The Hogwarts assignments were too easy and I already finished them, but Harry's they are challenging." She said while nodded to herself.

Harry gave them some exercises to practice while on vacation, as spending time with him, his skills also developed further, making Hogwarts first-year classes very easy.

"Aye, Harry sure knows, what he's doing. My gran was impressed by my skills when I got back from this two first periods. She actually thinks I'm a genius." Davis gave her a sly smile.

Rolling her eyes, she said. "Oh sure the great wizard Davis. The world shall quiver at his power." She mocked.

He chuckled. "Anything else?"

"Actually, apparently Harry was in my home some days ago, but only my family talked to him and no one want to say why?" She frowned.

Davis grinned. "Maybe Harry went there to ask your hand in marriage, and their blessings."

That made a huge effect on Andromeda. Her face became hotter and hotter. "W-w-what are you saying?! He was not there to do such thing."

"Oh? How are you so sure, yourself said no one told you why he was there." He giving her a fake inquiring look.

Andromeda glared at him. "He didn't go there to do that." She shrieked, some of the guests even turned to them.

Looking around Davis raised his hands. "Alright, alright." She sighed in relief, but then he grinned again. "I forgot that before marriage there's the courting part." She turned red again.

"Shut up, Davis" She gritted her teeth.

Davis started to laugh. "You had to see the look on your face." She didn't respond she just shifted awkwardly in place. "It's so funny to tease you Black."

She glared menacingly at him. "I will get you back for this, Davis."

He smirked with a fake awareness. "Aye, I'll be waiting."

Sighing she changed the subject while thinking that maybe she should've stayed with her sisters, Davis was impossible.

Back to the elder Potters, the festive mood, was ruined by the current conversation and the source of it, Harry Potter. Henry like Arcturus and Fleamont scoffed at the idea of the boy being a time-traveler. He actually though the boy was a legitimate child of Charlus, after all he didn't spoke to his son since his wedding day.

But the Pensieve never lies, and Henry got the full explanation of their sons and it disturbed him. It didn't change his opinion on the boy, if he was he was back in time, it had a reason and so Harry James Potter vanished and Hadrian Charlus Potter appeared in his place.

"I just want to know how this happened." Henry said while pinching the bridge of his nose.

"We don't know." Fleamont sighed.

"Actually, I have a theory." The other Potters looked at him. "The Master of Death."

Henry furrowed his brows. "You think the boy is the rightful owner of the Deathly Hallows?"

Shrugging Charlus replied. "It's just a theory. Maybe he has Peverell blood in him."

The three of them looked at each other, and stayed in silence. When Fleamont opened his mouth a knock came in the door."

"Enter." Fleamont acknowledged.

The door opened reveling Dorea Potter smiling amusedly for some reason.

"What is it Dorea?" Her husband asked softly.

Huffing she said. "I think James found a new hero in his life." She glanced at Fleamont to see his reaction.

Fleamont eyes twitched. "I'm too old for this."

Henry scoffed at his son. "Old? You? And what am I, a mummy?"

They shared some laughs but quickly died down when Dorea spoke again. "I see you know the truth Lord Potter."

Huffing he nodded. "It's hard to believe but I can't deny it what I saw. And I have to say Dorea, I admire your commitment to the boy." Before she could say something he continued. "I will not be a hypocrite, he's a Potter first than anything else, even though he has a lot connections with the Blacks. And I admire what are you doing for him."

There was stunned silence but a smiled graced her lips. "Thank you Lord Potter."

"It's past time you stop calling me that, Dorea. I'm no longer a Lord, so call me Henry or father." That stunned even Fleamont.

But her smile just widened. "I'll happy to do it, father." He smiled back.

Coughing awkwardly, Charlus asked again. "Something happened, love?"

The smile on her lips faded turned into a thin serious line. "I have some matters to discuss with you all. It has to do with Harry."

Charlus started to get worried. "What happened?"

"Please Charlus, calm down. Normally I'm the one who freaks out. So shut up and listen." She said sternly, making they all nod quickly.

Dorea took a seat beside her husband and said. "The deaths that were reported some days ago, about the students, you remember?" She asked and they nodded. Her eyes shadowed "It was Harry."

They looked at her trying to digest what she just said. "What?! As Harry killed them?"

Nodding Dorea confirmed. "Yes, but listen to the story first." And then she started to recount the events of the day she discovered Harry's little adventures.

Flashback:

Dorea Potter was in her living room reading some of the books her son has given her as early Christmas present. Her son's choice were some varieties of fiction, adventure to muggle fashion and culinary. She never cooked before, even Charlus did, so she wanted to try at least once and when she received his books she was giddy and happy, to try her first time.

Dorea knew she was overdoing in the way she treated him… like a kid. She was no obvious about his mental age, but until now, he never complained about it. So she didn't care she would treat him with all love and care a mother has for her children.

When Harry had gone to Hogwarts and she was watching him go, her heart clenched, but at same time the happiness of seeing her son go to school was a very good feeling. And this sensation of happiness and worry doubled when she received his first owl carrying the first letter.

That day was amusing for her. Oh sweet vengeance. For an entire year Charlus boasted about his son going to Gryffindor but in the end Harry was sorted in Slytherin. For weeks she reminded to him of the first Slytherin Potter.

And what make her even happier was his Professors letters asking about him and his hidden talents as well give their praises to Harry. She knew it was a little unfair, but he deserved.

When she received a letter from McGonagall saying that Harry was asking permission to learn about the Animagus, and wanted to become one, she did't like at first but Charlus convinced her saying Harry would never risk become an Animagi without the precautions and without actually learn everything he could. Reluctantly she agreed.

She could tell that, her life right now, without Harry, would be like falling in a precipice of endless darkness. Harry and Charlus were the light in her life.

A sudden pop broke off her thoughts.

"Mistress there is someone at the door."

"Who?" She asked herself curiously, it was rare someone visit her.

Putting down the book she was reading, she walked towards the door to see her great-niece Bellatrix standing there.

"Bella? What are you doing here?" Dorea tilted her head

"Aunt Dorea, how are you doing?" Bella was... fidgeting? Dorea looked at her suspiciously.

"I am good dear, thank you. And yourself?" She asked back.

Her great-niece nodded giving her a silent confirmation. Strange indeed.

"Come in dear, it's cold out here" Bellatrix entered the sitting room with Dorea who offered a place for her to sit and something to drink.

Bellatrix shook her head and just sat quietly.

"What can I do for you Bella?" Dorea asked with a kind smile.

The girl started to shift in her seat but it didn't take long for her to speak. "Is Hadrian available, aunt?"

"Harry?" She frowned but nodded. "Yes, he's doing his holidays assignments before Christmas, do you want to talk to him?"

Bellatrix made an 'O' face, in understanding. "Yes aunt, please."

Dorea nodded and got up from her seat moving just a little, her movement came to an stop, turning to Bellatrix, she asked.

"Can I asked what is you want to talk with him about?" Dorea suspicions didn't diminished. First Harry never mentioned her in his letters and second she never saw Bellatrix like this and third it is Bellatrix.

Fidgeting a little more Bellatrix reluctantly answered. "I want him to train me, to teach me, to share his endless knowledge with me." It was a reverence like voice, it surprised Dorea.

"Train you? Like, magical stuff?" Dorea tilted her head in curious manner.

But Bellatrix eyes shinned with a purple light. "Everything."

Dorea had a bad feeling about this, something wasn't right. "Give me a minute, I will get him." She motioned to got up from where she was sitting but stopped. "But first, I want to know why you want to be taught by him, you seem to know him, but he never mentioned you.

Dorea saw Bellatrix struggle a little, she even flinched when Dorea wanted to know her business with him.

But eventually, after a brief silence Bellatrix told her. "I want to serve him, I want to be with him, he gave me a new purpose, I want to get away from that weakling cowards." That stuck Dorea in place, she looked directly at Bellatrix eyes and she recognized, it was the same look Lestrange showed that man.

Dorea opened and closed her mouth several times, she was trying to process what her great-niece said. It was crazy, Bellatrix just came to her house to practically worship her son. "Serve him? What are you talking, Bella?" She almost didn't want to know the answer.

Bellatrix tilted her head then gave her a Bellatrix like smile, that mocking and disrespectful one. "Don't you see aunt, he has power. He can grant it to me. The Blacks lied, they are all full of themselves, but when a situation arises they do nothing."

Dorea blinked, what happened to her? "But he can't give you power, power is something you can't literally…" She couldn't finish, Bellatrix gave a snort.

"I'm not naive, aunt, I will ask him to teach me and I will do everything to learn while helping him achieve his objectives" There was proud in Bellatrix tone.

Narrowing her eyes, Dorea finally asked. "The way you say, seems like you saw him do something incredible."

Bellatrix smiled like remembering a found memory. "You have no idea aunt, he's amazing. He's the only one worth of my loyalty and my time." Now Dorea was gob smacked, but before she could say something Bellatrix continued. "You see aunt, yesterday I made something very foolish. I heard Lord Black talking about the Knights with uncle and father some days ago and I discovered interesting things, things that made me feel angry, betrayed, used, they promised things, and my whole life they taught me lies." Bellatrix face showed disgust.

Dorea cursed Arcturus, he always forgets to put silencing charms, for everything, even when he was with Melania. "So, li'l ol' me, like a foolish girl I am, went there and I almost got raped." Bellatrix scolded herself while Dorea's breath stopped for a minute and her eyes got wide. "If was not for Hadrian I would be dead right now."

Again Dorea made intention to talk but stopped when Bellatrix' voice boomed with devotion and pride. "You should have seen aunt, witches and wizards struggle to use dark spells to kill others and show they are powerful, but not him, with the use of simple transfiguration and repulsion spells he made blood spill from that bitch's throat, he toyed with them." Dorea could now understand why her son came home yesterday with so many cuts. But kill people, that is disturbing

But it still had more. "Then it came the torture." Bellatrix sighed dreamily while the blood form Dorea's face was drained. "My Lord used some muggle techniques to humiliate Logg, the rapist." Dorea didn't even registered, her great niece, call her son Lord. "He made him beg to me, he made him shout and squirm while asking for forgiveness, my forgiveness." The delight and self-satisfaction on her voice were taking over the room.
But then reality came down on Dorea, her son lied to her and went alone to enemy territory and killing people. "Wait, wait, wait. Are you saying Harry saved you from a place filled with dark wizards?" Bellatrix just nodded. Harry said he was going to a friend's house.

Dorea's face twisted and her tone became a little icy. "And what he was doing there? Surely he didn't go there just to save you." Harry would not go there for this reason she was certain of that.

Tilting her head, she said. "He said he wanted to spy on them, but he saw me there and saved me." The thankful smile plastered on her face.

While Dorea was trying to process what she just learned, Bellatrix was getting impatient. "Can you go and get him now?"

Dorea still very stunned didn't even bothered with Bellatrix demanding tone, so she slowly got up from her sit and went towards Harry's room.

Dorea step after step was trying her best to sort her feelings, she was fucking angry, but also she was glad Harry saved Bellatrix even in an unintentional way. One thing she knew, her son had a lot to explain about.

When she reached Harry's room she stopped at the front door with shaking legs and hands, she took a deep breath and recomposed herself, then knocked on the door.

"It's open" She heard her son's voice com through the door. Opening she saw him sat on the chair while righting something with a pen, yes a pen. While he still used the quill, their son showed them the incredible object that was a pen.

He turned to her with that innocent smile and asked. "Hey, mom, I was just finishing the rest of the assignments."

She stood in silence for a moment trying to sort her emotions. "You have a visitor Harry."

Harry tilted his head and asked curiously. "Who?"

Dorea just motioned for him to go and see. Her son nodded and got up and she started to lead him where Bellatrix was.

Walking towards the hall they stopped right at the door, Dorea blocked his path and jus motioned for him to see.

Her son stood on tiptoe and peeked through the corner of the door making a confused face. He looked at Bellatrix who was sitting there waiting patiently, then after a minute he looked at her, but the look she was wearing made his eyes go wide in understanding.

He gulped. "I… I was…"

She cut him off with a expressionless tone. "You lied to me Harry."

Her son looked down clearly ashamed. "I… Mom, I…"

Again she did not let him talk. "You go there, put yourself at risk and killed people, Harry. If this was not enough, you tortured someone." Her voice started to heat a little.

"I'm sorry but… I…" Her son was trying to gather words, he was getting emotional, but again she did not let him finish, but this time it was with a big hug.

He flinched, he always flinched when someone hugged him, but this time she knew his motives to flinch. He was expecting her to scold and say how betrayed she felt, but Dorea strong emotion right now was relief. Relief her son was safe, relief that her great-niece was also safe and relief he was feeling really bad about his actions.

"Just tell me Harry, why?" She could not see his face but his head moved nodding a little.

"I was having nightmares." He told her.

Frowning she inquired worriedly. "Nightmares, What nightmares?" He never mentioned nightmares in his letters.

There was a bit of silence before he answered. "I was seeing dad die. It was so real."

Her fown deepened. "You saw Charlus die?" It came in a gentle inquiring tone

Nodding he said. "It was so real, it was like when I was a Horcrux

She looked at him for a moment her eyes softening a little. "But why did you go there?"

She broke the hug and looked direct in his green eyes, it burned determination but also guilt. From that point, she started to hear his tale, since the Slytherins conversation he heard, until when he left Grimmauld Place. To say Dorea was shocked, it clearly was an understatement. But it was not only shock she was feeling now, many others emotions went through her as he told her the events.

After he finished there was an unbreakable silence. He was shifting in place, he wasn't regretting of what he has done, but because he lied to her.

"We will talk about this later, but I will say this, I'm angry Harry, but I'm also glad you're there to save Bella. As for the Black's, let's hope they take your words at heart." Dorea patted his shoulder. "Now c'mon, your follower is waiting you, imagine what she will think if her mighty Gray Lord is being scolded by his mother." She smirked at him.

"What are talking about?" He was confused.

But she did not answer his question, instead she just said. "Accept her Harry, if you deny her, I fear the worst will happen."

He tilted his head. "What are you talking about?"

She put her two hands on his shoulder. "Think like this, it's better you than him" She put emphases on 'him' before turning on her heels and entering in the sitting room leaving a confused Harry standing there.

After Dorea entered the room, she had to wait a minute before Harry followed her, and she got the clear view of his eyes narrowed when Bellatrix bowed to him.

"What can I do for you Ms. Black?" Harry asked suspiciously to the bowing girl.

"Please call me Bella, my Lord." Dorea saw his son's eyes bulge open and his face turn pale, his eyes flashed understanding while shifting towards her then to Bellatrix, Dorea put her hand on her mouth and started giggling silently.

After an awkward silence Harry asked making her silent giggle turn into a full still silent laugh. "Say what?"

"Please call me Bella, my Lord." She repeated the same way as before.

Her son looked at her scared, he was frightened by the girl bowing to him.

Even if this was amusing for Dorea, still Bellatrix actions, shocked and impressed her.

Harry composing himself took a deep breath and said to her great-niece in deep voice. "I'll stay with Bellatrix for now." Dorea saw her niece's eyes flash disappointment and… determination?

Dorea could understand Harry deny being friendly and close to Bellatrix like that, after all he didn't trust her.

"So what can I do for you Bellatrix?" She saw her satrighten herself then look directly at his eyes.

"I want to serve you." She said with such determination that impressed Dorea, but Harry choked himself.

"W-what?" Harry looked Bellatrix then her, asking for her help. Dorea just gave him a cold shoulder, but glared at him sayimg to accept.

"I said... " Her mouth clicked shut when he raised his hand stopping her from talking.

"I heard it..." He said in low tone. She saw Bellatrix waiting expectantly, like a little puppy waiting for her owner give her treats.

Her son glared at her only last time, before sighing accepting his first follower. "Alright. But here's the deal, I'll teach you but first, you have to learn Occlumency..." while her son started to instruct Bellatrix her amused grin slowly change to a saddened look while looking to her great-niece.

Bellatrix always was the extreme Black, she was raised to be that way and her enjoyment for power just added to her early education. When she was younger Dorea clearly could see the people she obeyed, and all started with Pollux. The man was too much like the standard pureblood wizard, he despised muggles and thought the magical world as superior to the muggle one.

He created Bellatrix in this way, and also added educational means the old fashioned way, in other words, she received dark curses as punishment for her failures and disobedience. But Bellatrix grew stronger, and he lost control of her, changing her loyalty to Lord Black. What her whole family did not expect was that, like all children, she wanted to see herself free from her family and it happened in the worst possible way.

Sighing she just listened her wise son give the girl instructions, hoping that her family, the Blacks didn't break apart.

Flashback end:

The Potters were all frowning some more than others, but the story she just told seemed to hit them in different ways.

Dorea already expecting it was Charlus the first to speak. "Why didn't you tell me earlier?! We have to warn and protect Newviti."

"That's why I told Harry to not tell you. You like the foolish man you are, you would get yourself and Newviti killed. You know how the man acts Charlus, just because he has some skill, he acts like he's the best Auror out there."

"But..." Charlus tried, but the glare he received made him shut his mouth.

"I sent him an owl in your name saying him to be careful." Dorea informed him. "What I wanted to ask, is what do we do?" Dorea's eyes looked down to her lap, she had a very stern conversation with Harry after that day and it finished with mixed feelings.

Fleamont and Charlus exchanged looks but it was Henry who voiced his opinion. "Until Riddle dies, your son will not have peace, in mind body and spiritually.

Riddle is his nemesis, and he just will be truly happy when Voldemort vanish from the world." The other three occupants of the room glanced at him with worry but understanding.

"So what do you recommend father?" Fleamont sighed.

"Help him, or you can lock him away." He explained stoically.

The silent understanding of the three, even if it was a bit reluctantly was voiced by Charlus. "I'll quit being an Auror and start helping, I'll search for the Horcruxes and keep an eye on my son. If he's so determined to be the Gray Lord, then I'll start planning."

"Good, because now he is the leader to one side of the war." Henry concluded.

Before anyone could've said anything more a house-elf appeared saying the dinner was ready. Dorea exited the room biting her lip, it was not easy to be a mother.

She didn't want to come to this bullshit, this place filled with dimwits thinking they are powerful, skilled wizard and witches, the best of breeds, such nonsense. Scoffing she turned again to look at the other side of the hall and for the fiftieth time she sighed, she was just attending because her Lord said it would be good to get information on all purebloods families light and dark. Actually, she was very eager to please him, so for the past three hours she just looked at the hall with a hawk eye, memorizing all the information she could gather. But still, Bellatrix Black was bored.

Flashback:

Bellatrix was sitting on the couch facing her Lord eager to hear his teachings, his dreams and objectives and learn more about him. He handed her three books, two of them were about Occlumency and one about muggle wars.

Glancing at the books then at him she heard him explain. "If you certain you want to... help me. I want you to be a master in Occlumency." She understood, if she was captured, she would fail him. "This is the first thing you need to master, then we can go to another kind of magical art." She nodded in understanding. "The muggle one is for you to understand all that I talked in your house yesterday." If she was the old Bellatrix she would dismiss and mock his attempts to make her read a muggle book.

She was not turning into a muggle loving witch, she still thinks she was their superior, but she understands more now.

Nodding her head, she thanked him politely. "Thank you my Lord." Then bowed.

She heard some desperate coughs that made her worry. "Are you alright, my Lord."

Coughing a little more her Lord wave his hand and dismissed her worries. "I'm fine, please call me Harry."

Her eyes widened, her Lord was allowing her to call him by his name. She gave a slow nod and tasted his name on her lips. "Yes... Harry." That made her good mood skyrocket.

"Good, I know you want to learn more magic, but the Occlumency is very important, so until you are a master on it, the advanced spells we will let for later." She again nodded.

Shifting a little, she actually was surprised with how meek she was acting, she always had been a proud witch. But she could at least understand that it was her first time in her Lord's presence as his follower. "Can I asked you a question my L... Harry?"

He chuckled. "You don't need permission to talk, Bellatrix." That's the other thing, she wanted him to call her Bella so much, but could not force him to do it. Actually, he could call her whatever he wanted.

Seeing there was no problem she prompted. "Are you going to the minister party?" She wanted him to go, she hoped to be on his company.

But instead of her Lord's answer, was her aunt's. "No Bellatrix, this time we are going to Godric's Hollow to spend the Christmas eve." Her aunt said apologetically. So, her Lord would spend the Christmas with the Potters, she thought

Before she could say anything her Lord asked her. "Are you going, Bellatrix?"

Nodding slowly, she frowned a little. "Yes, I heard Lord Black talking to my father, he wanted to scout for possible allies, and also apologize formally to others, for not joining the Knights." Not only her Lord was pleased l, but also her aunt seemed happy about this.

Passing a hand through his black hair, her Lord nodded. "Then, while you were there keep an eye open to all the families and Houses attending the party. Watch for allies and enemies, who hates who and who supports who, getting information is very important."

She wasn't going, but now that her Lord gave her first task, she would do with the best of her abilities. Giving him a beaming smile she replied with passion. "Yes, my Lord." While bowing she heard an exasperated sigh, that let her confused.

Flashback end:

She currently sat beside her mother and sister not even moving, actually Bellatrix didn't move from her spot since they arrived at the party, because she was taking her Lord's first assignment very seriously.

Bellatrix also noted that her inaction seemed to worry her mother greatly, as annoying it is, she could find enjoyment seeing her mother sulking and too scared to talk to her. Narcissa was another matter, she talked and talked, Bellatrix didn't mind though, but she wanted to stay in her corner alone for now, so she tried to engage minimal in conversations.

But it was never too easy, was it. A sudden voice made her groan in displeasure.

"Bellatrix." It said greeting her.

She glanced at the voice and saw Rodolphus Lestrange. He was a boy of her age, had shoulder length dark brown hair and the same eye colors, in Bellatrix standards he was handsome. But still, not worth of her time.

Rodolphus was Bellatrix classmate and friend, she liked his company but this changed after her Lord came to her life. If the Lestranges were not one of enemies, maybe she would convince him to join her, to serve her Lord. And maybe their friendship would still be the same, unfortunately it's not always the way she wanted. Also, she had to stay alert to see if they will come after her, even if the Knights did not have information on her Lord she still had a long way in Occlumency to hide his secrets.

Glancing at him she gave a Bellatrix like smile and said cheerfully. "If isn't the Lestrange breed, where's Rabakins?"

The boy raised an incredulous eyebrow then pointed to her side. "We are here, like half an hour. Your aunt and my father, are talking for quite bit of time actually."

Bellatrix followed his gaze and saw Lord Lestrange talking to her aunt, she had the urge to scoff but suppressed it.

Beside Lord Lestrange was a middle age woman, maybe in her thirties and there's also Rabastan Lestrange, Rodolphus younger brother talking to the blushing Narcissa.

"I didn't know your brother liked younger girls, is he some kind of pervert." Bellatrix raised an eyebrow while grinning at Rodolphus.

Rodolphus shrugged. "I think Rabastan is not attracted to the opposite sex. And he's only three years older than her" He remembered her

"Is that so?" She didn't know that, it made her curious. Before Rodolphus could feel offended she raised her hands and said. "Look, I don't have anything against it, if Rabakins feels attracted to a unicorn, it's his life. But if he is trying to get my sister, then the matter changes."

There was a silence before Rodolphus grinned. "As protective of you sisters as always, I see." She grinned back. "But Rabastan is talking to your sister because you didn't answer us. We called fifteen times and you just stared at the hall not even listening."

Grinning a little wider she turned to Rabastan. "Hey Rabakins did you miss lil'ol me?"

Rabastan who was talking to Narcissa snapped his head towards Bellatrix, then smiled. "Finally. You were daydreaming, Bella." She flinched at the nickname, Bellatrix smile reappeared as fast as it vanished.

She then smirked evilly. "And you Rabakins, were you hitting on my nine-year-old sister?" His face turned red, but before he could rebuke. "But I heard you were into boys, so I'll let this pass."

Rabastan looked at his brother with an angry betrayed face. Rodolphus just smirked. "Traitor."

Glancing at the brother she finally asked, bluntly. "So what do you want?"

The two brothers glanced at each other before they shrugged. "Talk, maybe. Also mother wanted to meet you."

Raising her eyebrows she inquired. "Your mother, for what?"

Shrugging again, Rabastan said. "We don't really know, only that Lady Black and our mother had been in contact for a long time."

Frowning amusedly she asked. "Lady Black?"

Rabastan nodded. "Yeah, your aunt."

Bellatrix paused a little then burst out of laughing. The brothers looked at each other curiously then at Bellatrix. "What?" One of them asked.

"Typical. My aunt is not the Lady Black yet, is still Melania, my great-aunt." She said between laughs.

"We were just telling what we heard." Rodolphus explained.

Still chuckling she asked. "But you know why?"

As if this was the cue, Walburga's voice reach her ears. "And that's Bellatrix."

Bellatrix turned to her aunt and saw she approaching her with Lord and Lady Lestrange in tow. Bellatrix sighing inwardly turned to face them.

"Bellatrix this is Lord Raffaello Lestrange and his wife Lady Renne Lestrange." Looking more closely to Lord Lestrange she could tell he was indeed a Lestrange, he has strong features with dark hair and eyes but still a very handsome man. Renne didn't lose in beauty, she was gorgeous, she also has dark hair, but her eyes were gray. The two were giving small smiles towards her.

Bellatrix just stared and said nothing. Her aunt frowned at her and urged for her to greet them back.

Sighing Bellatrix said. "Bellatrix Black, it's a pleasure." No, it is not a pleasure.

"She's indeed a very beautiful girl, Ms. Black" Raffaello said to Druella who was behind them trying to hide from her daughter.

Bellatrix raised an eyebrow at his comment. Renne seeing this chuckled. "I loved your hair dear."

Narrowing her eyes, she hesitantly nodded. "Thank you?"

Walburga looked pleased at Bellatrix, then shifted her gaze towards Lord Lestrange. "She will be the perfect bride to your son, won't she?"

Bellatrix froze. The burning rage inside her started to boil, her heart and breath quickened, and her hand started to twitch. Again, these dimwits do things behind her back, try do order her and smile at her like she is some kind of puppy to be taken care for. While they were talking and laughing directly in front of her, a million thoughts ran through her mind, she needed to calm herself down, if not the things would turn out very ugly.

Forcing a smile she said. "Excuse me." But before she could walk away, Walburga grabbed her arm. Walburga, would scold Bellatrix, but her voice stuck on her throat when she saw Bellatrix eyes.

The other woman who also flinched at her gaze was Druella, the woman was terrified of Bellatrix since that moment when her own daughter almost stabbed her neck with a wand.

Yanking her arm Bellatrix started to walk away, in her musings she spotted Lord Black talking to some other man, walking towards him she called. "Lord Black?"

Arcturus who was in a light conversion with some of the neutral Lords turned to the voice. "Bellatrix?" Arcturus frowned. "What's the matter."

She looked at the other man and signaled it was private. Grunting a little he excused himself and followed her to a little more private corner. "What is it? You seem angry."

"Did you arrange a marriage with the enemy?" Bellatrix asked baring her teeth

Arcturus furrowed his brows. "What are you talking about?"

Bellatrix pointed at Walburga and hissed. "Then she's disobeying you."

Arcturus looked where she was pointing and saw the Lestanges there. Arcturus eyes flashed dangerously. "What did Walburga did?"

Scoffing, Bellatrix shrugged. "I just heard her saying i was to be a little bride."

Arcturus looked at her, his eyes hardening at the situation then before leaving he said to her. "Don't worry, I will cut Walburga's little wings."

Chuckling darkly, she said. "Oh, I'm not worried. I would not do a damn thing that aunt would tell me to do." Arcturus understand the message she was that trying to give.

Grunting in understanding, he started to walk away, but Bellatrix gave him a last warning. "Walburga told them she's Lady Black." He was grateful for her attitude, Bellatrix could have shrieked or attacked her aunt, but she decided to bring to him the matter.

Again his eyes flashed a burning fire stating that he was not happy, spotting Orion and Cygnus on the crowd he dragged them with him.

"What's the matter father?" Orion asked confused.

"Your wife is the problem, she's talking to Lestranges about marriage while using Lady Black's title."

The two understood what Lord Black was implying. "Sorry, uncle I got dist..." But Cygnus couldn't finish.

"You are only one man Cygnus. I asked you to do a lot of things today. It's okay don't blame yourself." Arcturus reassured him.

Cygnus said nothing but silently thank his uncle for the consideration.

Arcturus walked directly at Walburga, grabbing her arm tightly making her turn towards him. "You are not Lady Black, Walburga." The woman's face distorted for a second.

Forcing a smile, she glanced at Lord Black and the Lestranges. "Ah, Lord Black let me…"

Cutting her in mid-sentence Arcturus gripped her arms more tightly. "We are going home." Then he turned to the Lestranges. "Whatever arrangements that Walburga did with you, it's off. She has no right. Good night." Then he started to drag Walburga while the others followed him. "Come everyone, the Blacks are leaving."

"Why?!" Walburga shrieked. "They are an excellent House, perfect for one of Cygnus daughters to be wed."

Arcturus didn't even dignify her with a response. People in all the party were looking at them confused and whispering.

In the same corner, where she pulled Arcturus, Bellatrix smirked. Amused by the scene, she sighed in content while muttering. "Well, it's time to return to my readings, my Lord surely will be pleased by the results. Maybe it was not so boring in the end" And with that she returned home eagerly to go back to her precious books.

The Christmas eve turned to be so much fun for Harry that his body was exhausted, after he left the room with Euphemia, Dorea and James, they made a tour in the house, showing to be a lovely and comfortable house. Thinking back, of his past life if James and Lily didn't die he would be living in this particular house.

After a short walk, they headed for the backyard, there was plenty of room to fly there, so he borrowed one of Fleamont's broomsticks and showed the anxious James some cool moves, saying James was ecstatic it was too little, Harry actually he became a hero in James' eyes.

At some point Dorea left them so he did some more dangerous movements that made James squeal in place, overall his relationship with James turned to be better than he expected to be. Euphemia was another person who got attached to him, his new auntie was by all means a Potter, she was funny and a very lovely woman but like all the cool aunts, she started to spoil him a lot.

Until dinner time, they talk about each other, told stories and found some minor fun things to do. The supper was simply delicious, actually it's always more delicious in company of others. Henry Potter prove to be a Potter in a disguise of pureblood wizard, Harry could see the mirth in his eyes while interacting with his family. And last but no less the Christmas presents, Harry never was too much of a person to receive presents but this time he received more than each Christmas in his previous life. Books, some magical trinkets, and lots of other cool things.

Harry didn't know what present pick to his parents, so he had to think a lot. Remembering that Dorea actually liked some muggle things he bought her a golden pendant in form of a heart, it was a reliquary. Opening, it showed her a picture of her, Charlus and Harry in the beach while looking at each other smiling. As for Charlus's, he had chosen a golden and beautiful watch, it was not much but he liked when he saw it. Dorea loved the reliquary, she enveloped him on a hug and sobbed for fifteen minutes straight without letting him go. The rest of the evening they just stayed together as a family, making Harry experienced the perfect Christmas for the first time.

When Harry woke up the next morning, smiling he sat down at the breakfast table, picked up the newspaper and on the twenty-fifth of 1964 Harry paled, in the front page of all Great Britain newspapers showed the title I AM LORD VOLDEMORT.
