Soni woke up and peeled her body off the floor, she shivered and rubbed her arms to generate some sort of heat she was still exhausted and didn't sleep well at all considering she couldn't make it over to the mini bed last night. Soni got up and walked slowly to the other side of the room to stand under the shower, it was only her down here but she still stood embarrassed that she was exposed to anyone that could show up. Looking around she didn't see a way out or in, no doors, no windows and no steps to a higher level, Soni had to figure she was stuck down here until she was found. Soni stripped off her robe and began the shower lucky for her she was able to have hot water and there was soap that looked like it was left there for her, she showered quickly and turned the water off, flipping the robe back onto her she shivered over to the bed and curled into it. Was this her new life? How long was she going to suffer alone? Soni tried to contact others but still no signal and the only thing she ever got was an occasional meal once a day from the strange hole in the wall. The meals were small but enough to get by and she had to wonder who treat her like this? Soni had always treated everyone as better than her and gave her heart and time to those who deserved it, she had an idea but wouldn't think he keep her hidden away from the world in a cold dank basement to die.

This continued for months and into a full year. Soni never had enough food to keep her energized so at a point she stopped keeping up with herself, she kept clean but her quills were extremely long and matted, her nails over grown and extremely sharp, her body had slimmed down to nothing but skin and bone and muscles had weakened and killed her strength. She only ever saw Shadow visit and taunt her fallen form, a few months in he blindfolded her so he wouldn't have to see her pitiful eyes begging him for freedom. Shadow hated her pathetic look. It kept him awake at night thinking about her and how he was so in natural love with her and now he wanted full control over her, he found himself absolutely obsessed with her, he didn't want anyone to have her and if they tried or if she tried he'd make sure she couldn't leave. Shadow would visit on occasion and talk down to her, he'd make her listen to the news reports of them slowly losing interest in her well being, all the lies he told the media about his "concern" and "hope" that she's found. All of Soni's hope was crushed and all she could do was beg for him to save her and spare her from this torture but he could only laugh at her sufferings. Having control over Soni filled him with such joy and power, it made him feel he could do anything he wanted and step on any being to just get what he wants.

Knuckles studied the collected footage of the robbery and was right as everyone's guess that it was Shadow who kidnapped her, he tried to follow the cameras out to the moment they left her house but footage stopped right as they walked out, Knuckles had so much evidence to lock this man up for years regardless of his fame or not. The stuff Espio brought back from the scene was both Soni's fur and blood and Shadow's fur and blood, confirming more, this guy was going down. The Chaotix watched as Knuckles became obsessed with cracking this case and finding his lover, the year that had passed without any word concerned them more that Knuckles was digging for nothing. They were detectives sure but, at this point the trail was stone cold and had no opening for help. The media slowly closed her story as an unsolved mystery and if she was found they would report it, Shadow would appear on the news faking a hopeful pray for her return and that everyone would be waiting for her, Shadow was getting all the spot light for her disappearance. Such as sold out shows, album releases, fans donating to a "cause into finding her" and all the support his group got for this predicament, it sickened The Chaotix but there wasn't much more they could do. One day however Charmy and Espio returned to the agency with news of following Shadow to an abandoned shack on the outskirts of the Death Forest, Espio followed him in to see what he was up to and lo Espio found Soni shackled to the wall by a ankle chain. The torture she was being put through and for this long, how sick of him but he did play a nasty game that he's sure Shadow was hoping to get away with. Looking around Espio found cameras and placed devices to send a live feed to the agency so they would have a new trail and bring light to this horror. Espio snuck back out when Shadow left and grabbed Charmy to leave, when they came back to report what was happening Knuckles snapped out of his sturdy stone trail and began following their results and focus on the new media they received. They were able to tap into a years worth of info and even had a location saved to go back for her, nothing much happed in the videos other than her showering, crying and slowly losing her weight over the year.

The Chaotix set up a mission plan to save her and bring her back to the media then take the info they have to court so Shadow could be arrested for his crimes and constant lying to the media, they couldn't stand him and the opportunity to take him down had arisen they were gonna take it. They stayed up all night and planned, took rotations in scoping out the area for how many times Shadow would visit and even picked up some audio of a phone call he had. Shadow was planning to "save" Soni and show it off to the public at that, so he'd look like an amazing person to the world but he was waiting longer then the Chaotix was to strike. Looks like Shadow's loss.
