The next day in Conton City, Cabba and Pan are both taking a walk through a forest area, both of them enjoying some corn dogs and shakes.
"So this Giru robot ended up betraying you at first?" Cabba asked, having been told some stories from Pan.
"Yeah, it really bummed me out at the time, despite our differences I thought he was our friend," Pan said. "I was ready to demolish him for what he did to me, grandpa and Trunks."
"What exactly happened?" Cabba asked.
"Well it turned out that his 'betrayal' was an act, he really didn't want to leave me and the others. So later on he helped free me and Trunks and the two of us helped Grandpa defeat General Rildo," Pan said.
"Rildo's the guy in charge of the robots of the planet you were on right?" Cabba asked.
"Yeah, he even fused with them, but in the end me, grandpa and Trunks finished him off," Pan said. "Nothing like teamwork to save the day. That and some deception thanks to Giru."
"That robot would be foolish to give up a friend like yourself," Cabba said.
"You're too sweet," Pan replied, blushing a little. "Honestly sometimes I wonder why he even likes me, I'm not always nice to him. I've gotten mad at him and threatened to dismantle him whenever I got angry, I even tell him he's useless."
"Do you mean any of that?" Cabba asked.
"Not entirely..." Pan said. "He could stand to be a little more useful at times but I do value him as a friend."
"He probably knows that while you could be super harsh, he would still be understanding because he knows deep down you're a great girl," Cabba said. "It's like Caulifla, she acts brash but she's a very loyal teammate. Not just to me and Kale, but anyone she's fighting with. I remember Kale telling me that even when Caulifla was badly injured after a fight with some warriors from Universe 11 during the Tournament of Power, she still wanted to help our team leader Hit when he was in a difficult battle against another Universe 11 warrior named Dyspo."
"That's nice of her," Pan said.
"Fortunately she didn't have to, Goku came to help," Cabba said. "Weird at first since he wasn't even our teammate but one, Goku wanted to fight the guy Hit was fighting and two, I think deep down Goku just wanted to help a friend out. Plus I think Goku wanted to fight Hit again, he considers him one of his best opponents."
"Think I can see Hit for myself someday? He sounds really cool," Pan said.
"Uh, well he's really hard to find, even Lord Champa and his Angel Vados finds him trouble to track down," Cabba said. "Just hope he never has to find you. Very few can stand against his Time-Skip abilities."
"Well I think I can handle that," Pan boasted. "But I'd rather not have to. Not sure who would send someone like him after me."
"I doubt you'd have to worry, even in your own timeline, unless that Don Kee guy you mentioned once knows about the 12 Universes," Cabba said.
"No way, he'd be too cheap to hire an assassin to come after me, Trunks or Grandpa," Pan said.
"That reminds me, maybe I should keep an eye out in my timeline for stuff like that, I mean I don't patrol Universe Seven but I could let their authority know about any potential businessmen like that. I did see a Galactic Patrolman at the Universe Six vs Universe Seven Tournament."
"I'd really like a chance to compete in a Tournament soon," Pan said. "I've only done two, the first one was back when I entered The World Martial Arts Tournament as a little girl, I was about maybe four or five but I entered alongside grandpa and only had one match, well two if you count my Uncle Goten sparring with me. The tournament ended when Grandpa left to train a boy named Uub."
"Goku just decided to train some boy? Did he know him?" Cabba asked.
"Sort of, apparently he's the reincarnation of Majin Buu, the evil one," Pan explained. "Grandpa sensed his power and flew off to train him, leaving me behind for five years."
"Wow, that's a long time," Cabba said. "He just left?"
"Barely said good-bye, Grandpa's a nice guy but according to Grandma, he really has a bad sense of family virtues," Pan said. "Right after he left, they cancelled the Tournament, there weren't even that many matches, they just cancelled it, I don't know why, I didn't care, I just missed my grandpa."
"Sorry to hear that," Cabba said.
"It's fine, the second time I competed was because my other grandpa, Hercule, he wanted to retire, so he set up a Tournament so he can find a successor, though I think he wanted it to be me," Pan said. "I did well, but I dropped out because...well I don't think I wanted that pressure of being the 'World Champ'."
"Makes sense," Cabba said. "That type of responsibility-"
"Also I didn't want to grow a mustache," Pan added, getting a weirded out look from Cabba.
"I...is that an Earth custom or something?" Cabba asked.
"Never mind, it's silly," Pan said. "Next time I enter a Tournament, I just want it to be for fun, and for it not to get cancelled, and to not get abandoned."
"Gotta say, something has been bothering me about Goku since our trip to the Cell Games," Cabba said. "It seemed like he was being really hard on Gohan."
"He was, my papa was only nine during the Cell games, I know how scary it is to fight at that age because that's how old I was when me, grandpa and Trunks traveled the universe trying to find the Black Star Dragon Balls," Pan said. "But he's always been a bit weird about fighting, and a bit immature. Turning back into a kid in my timeline just made it worse, doing all sorts of weird and embarrassing things. He actually swims naked! The nerve of him too, getting that indecent in front of a girl like me."
"Heh, hopefully I wasn't too indecent after the fight against Mira," Cabba joked.
"Huh?" Pan remembered that he was half-dressed that day due to the bandages, she remembers his body as well. Not too muscular but she didn't care, his skin still looked pretty smooth, surprising since he's a warrior but he still takes good care of himself. "Oh that, no you're fine."
"Oh really?" Cabba asked.
"Yeah I wouldn't mind seeing you naked," Pan absent-mindedly said. It took a few seconds for her to realize what she said. "Uh..."
Cabba had stopped in his tracks hearing that, his face turning red, "Uh..."
"That...was a bit weird to say, I'm really sorry for sounding like a creep," Pan said.
"It's fine, I just didn't expect that," Cabba said. "I mean, I guess it's flattering in it's own way?"
"You don't have to make excuses, I was out of line," Pan said. "If someone said that to me I might get upset, it wouldn't be right for me to say it to you."
"It's fine really," Cabba said. "I can't complain since I got a glimpse of you that day as well."
"Huh?" Pan remembered that Cabba walked into the room and saw her half naked, her breasts exposed to him. "Oh, that was my fault, you don't need to be sorry."
"You weren't bothered?" Cabba asked.
"I was at first, but looking back, it wouldn't have been the end of the world," Pan said. "You're a nice boy, I know you wouldn't be weird about seeing me naked. Of course there isn't much to see, my body is pretty plain."
"Well...you're in good shape...if that helps," Cabba nervously said, hoping he didn't sound like a pervert.
"Aw, thanks," Pan said, not minding one bit. She could see that Cabba still looked a bit embarrassed, she found it kind of cute. Mostly likely he probably feels weird about the memory and thinks he violated her privacy. He's such a pure boy in her mind, strong warrior with a gentle soul. Wanting to cheer him up, she gently stroked his hair. "It's alright if you liked something you saw."
"It...really isn't," Cabba said. "Pan, you're a great girl but in a way...you're kind of young."
"Huh? No I'm not!" Pan said. "I'm a grown girl."
"Barely, Pan it's not right for me to imagine you as less than decent, not at your age," Cabba said.
"You're barely older than me, I think you can imagine me a certain way," Pan said. "Plus I'm part Saiyan, so I mature faster than most Earthling girls."
"It's not that simple," Cabba said. "Look, maybe we should drop this, I don't feel comfortable discussing this with you."
"Oh I see, you think I'm a kid don't you!?" Pan angrily asked. "Even though I'm only a few years younger you think you're this big adult that can't talk about this stuff with kids!"
"Pan, no offense but you're not that mature," Cabba said. "I mean, from what I've seen, you're not fully...'developed'."
Pan angrily blushed at the words she heard coming from the boy's mouth. "I am too developed!" She grabbed her breasts and rubbed them. "I have boobs like any other girl!"
"Please don't talk so loud, someone might hear!" Cabba pleaded.
"I couldn't care less!" Pan said, not taking her hands off her breasts. "Wanna feel them?"
"No!" Cabba backed off. "Pan, you're kind of overreacting a bit. There's no shame in not being developed, you're still growing."
"I'm fully grown!" Pan insisted.
"Pan, you're kind of small," Cabba pointed out.
"Small!?" I'm the same height as you! Somewhat!" Pan said. "At least I'm just about as tall as Caulifla and Kale! Or are they 'kids' too? Because Caulifla's got a really nice pair of boobs for a kid. Same with Kale!"
"Pan please, I really don't want to keep discussing this," Cabba said. "I'm sorry if I made you feel like a kid, but at least know that I still value you as my teammate and my friend, you're a strong fighter, that's the part of you that I want to focus more on, not your body. I mean, I do think you have a nice body but...well it's just not my place to say too much about it."
Pan started to calm herself, feeling a bit ashamed for overreacting a bit, "Don't apologize, I should be the one saying sorry. I shouldn't get this worked up over something so silly. Maybe it's because...it's probably my size, some people think I'm younger than I actually am. What's even worse is that my friend Bulla, who's a year younger than me, looks so much older. When she was about eight or nine, everyone thought she was a teenager, guess it's her Saiyan genes, they gave her a bit of a growth spurt and made her more mature looking, while I'm stuck looking like this."
"The way you look is fine though," Cabba reassured.
"That's nice of you to say Cabba, but I know you're just trying to make me feel better," Pan said.
"No, I'm not..." Cabba had to reword this. "I mean I get how you feel, a lot of people have underestimated me because of my age as well, but it's not a good idea to worry about such trivial things like that. So you're a little behind on physical development, you'll get there soon, it's not a race."
"Still...you think I look like a kid," Pan said.
"Pan I...I don't know what to tell you here," Cabba said. "I mean, do you want me to compliment your features or something? Is it really that important to you?"
"Kind of..." Pan said, grabbing at her shirt. "I just want to be seen as a grown woman."
"Pan, if you really want that, then you need to act like one," Cabba said. "Power level alone isn't enough, show me you're mature and maybe I can think of you another way. But honestly, I don't really want to. I don't want to look at you as just a girl with a nice body, I just want to look at you and see my friend."
Pan felt a bit touched by the sentiment, Cabba really did care about her and he really was trying to be a good friend and teammate. "You're the best." Pan leaned in and hugged Cabba, feeling a bit emotional. "I'm so glad I met a boy as nice as you."
"And I'm happy to know a girl like you Pan," Cabba said, returning the hug. "And, honestly, I do find you to be really pretty, I'm not just trying to make you feel better, I really do find you to be a pretty gi...a pretty woman."
Pan very much appreciated that comment, and she could tell that he meant it. She kissed Cabba on the cheek as she pulled away. "You make me feel so happy, I feel a bit closer to you, and I want to keep getting closer."
"Yeah, so do I," Cabba said, holding the spot he was kissed. The boy felt conflicted here, despite what he says, he can't help but find the charming qualities of the girl standing before him, despite her current age and maturity.
"Happy to hear, so anything else you wanna do? I still want to spend a little more time with you," Pan said.
"Uh...I want to but I can't think of anything," Cabba said. "I'm not used to just hanging out."
"Didn't you have any friends on Sadala?" Pan asked.
"A few but, well I guess I spent so much time in the Sadala Army, I never made much time for regular Friendship," Cabba said. "Most of the time I'm working drills with others, the closest I've hung out was with Caulifla and Kale."
"We're gonna have to fix that, I gotta get you to my timeline, there's so much stuff we can do," Pan said. "Until then we'll make due here. Just tell me the next time you're free for a day like this and I'll make a fun day for us both."
"I'll have to check in with my commanding officer, but I think I can figure something out for us," Cabba said.
"Until then, let's go to the Hero Coliseum, I think there's a bunch of fun games we can play," Pan said.
"Games? Like what?" Cabba asked.
"I don't know, but we'll find out together," Pan said, taking to the air. "Let's get to it."
Cabba shrugged it off and followed his friend, both making their way to their destination to enjoy a few more hours of fun. Chronoa had oberved in the distance, feeling happy that Pan and Cabba were getting along so well.
"Those two make quite the pair, good thing I picked them out to be my new Time Patrollers," Supreme Kai of Time said. "Though, it does concern me a bit, it seems like Pan is becoming very infatuated with Cabba, like if she's falling in love with him. Can that even work? Should it work?" Chronoa started to look a bit frustrated. "Now I'm not even sure if putting them together is still a good idea...Too late for that though, I just hope there can be a possible happy ending that won't mess with the balance of time."
In his timeline, Gohan was training in the forest, engaged in a two against one sparring session against Seventeen and Eighteen.
Videl had observed from nearby, as did Goku, both of them curious about Gohan's progress. Videl mainly since she saw Gohan as something of a rival, Goku since he just wants his son to get stronger.
Gohan was practicing in his Super Saiyan 2 form, figuring to master that form a bit further, hoping it'll help him with Super Saiyan 3, and eventually make it to Super Saiyan 4.
"Hey Goku, quick question," Videl said.
"Sure, what is it?" Goku asked.
"How do you turn Super Saiyan? Like, what triggers it?" Videl asked.
"Uh, well for me, I turned the first time when I got angry, I saw a friend of mine get killed and I wanted revenge on the guy who destroyed him," Goku said. "Now I don't need to get angry, because I just focus on a part of my body. See I feel tingly when I transform so when I focus on that, boom, I'm a Super Saiyan."
"So that's how it works for all Saiyans?" Videl asked. "Even Half-Saiyans like Gohan?"
"Yeah, pretty much," Goku said. "I mean, I didn't see Gohan's transformation, he told me that when he went to the future, and trained with the me of that timeline, he imagined seeing our old enemy Frieza hurting someone special to him. Then he imagined another guy who looks like me, called himself Black. We actually fought the two of them quite some time ago, not sure if you remember anything like that."
"I remember aliens, that's about it," Videl said. "Still, he had to imagine those two doing something bad to someone he cared about?"
"Yeah, though come to think of it...I think the person he said he imagined was you," Goku said.
"Me!?" Videl asked.
"Yeah, well the you of your timeline," Goku said. "I think my son wants to date you or something."
"Hell no, no offense Goku but I see your son as a rival, not a boyfriend," Videl said. "Plus...I'm still a bit ticked off he basically walked in on my while I was naked."
"Oh yeah, Seventeen mentioned that you flipped your lid, Bulma got mad anytime I saw her naked too," Goku said. "I mean it never bothered me to be seen naked but I guess some people are different."
"Certainly didn't bother Gohan on that planet, his junk's huge though, that's one decent asset," Videl said. It took her a moment to realize what she said. "Uh...not that I care about his size, like I said I'm not into him."
"Uh, alright..." Goku still seemed confused. "Not sure what 'junk' or 'size' have to do with who you like."
"Don't worry about it, not that it matters, I already have a guy I like," Videl said. "If I had to pick a boyfriend, it would definitely be Seventeen."
"You like Seventeen?" Goku asked, looking on as the male Android and his sister double teamed his son with a dual kick to his stomach.
"Yeah, he's really cool, such a dreamy guy," Videl gushed.
"Wow, now you're starting to sound like Bulma every time she would talk about Yamcha," Goku said.
"Yamcha? That's not the guy she's with now right?" Videl asked.
"No, she's with Vegeta...I think," Goku said. "They're a little confusing in regards to their couple status."
"Sounds like a load of drama," Videl said. "Well I don't think Seventeen and I will have that problem, we'll be a nice happy couple, just like you and Chi-Chi."
"You really think Chi-Chi's happy? Sometimes I worry that she's a bit overwhelmed being married to me and having a half-Saiyan son like Gohan," Chi-Chi said.
"She is, I can tell it puts a load on her shoulders, but I can also tell she loves you both a lot and she's really happy to have a husband like you and a son like Gohan," Videl said. "Kid may be annoying but he is a good friend and he's a great older brother."
"Gohan is a good kid, you really should try making friends with him yourself," Goku said. "He'd make a good training partner at the very least."
"Hm...I would like sparring with him, can't deny that boy's strength," Videl said. "But I really can't see us being friends."
"Hey there was a time where I didn't think I'd have the friends I do now," Goku said. "Yamcha, Tien, Piccolo, even Krillin, they all used to hate me, some of them even tried to kill me."
"That's a weird way to start a friendship," Videl said.
"Even Bulma tried to kill me, and Chi-Chi's dad," Goku said. "Also those two, Seventeen and Eighteen, they were programmed to kill me."
"You need a healthier way to start friendships," Videl said. "Thankfully I have no interest in killing you and I already liked you, so you can start one with me."
"Wow that's nice of you Videl," Goku said. "Still, maybe you should consider making friends with Gohan too, I know you won't regret it, plus he could use a few friends his age, at least that's what Chi-Chi usually says."
"Eh, I'll give it a shot," Videl said.
"Happy to hear," Goku said, just as Gohan got smacked against a tree, the boy powering out of his form. "Looks like he's exhausted."
"Wow, you two really did a number on him," Videl said to the Androids.
"Too bad, thought he had a little more fight," Seventeen said.
"Be nice, he did his best," Eighteen said.
"I think so too," Goku said. "Gohan is really coming into his own with his Super Saiyan abilities. If this keeps up, he's gonna leap light years past me in strength."
"You really think so dad?" Gohan asked, struggling to stand.
"Of course, you got this son," Goku encouraged.
"Yeah, you're pretty ok Gohan," Videl said, then turned her attention to The Androids. "So...if you're done training Gohan, can I get a turn?"
"Sounds good to me," Eighteen said, then turned to her brother. "You in Seventeen?"
"Maybe next time, I going to Capsule Corp and trying out some more of those model cars," Seventeen said.
"Uh...Bulma said you're not allowed to drive them," Eighteen reminded.
"Don't worry sis, I haven't forgotten," Seventeen reassured. "Which is why I'm not gonna ask her permission this time."
"Well as long as...wait what did you say!?" Eighteen asked, just as her brother flew off. "Seventeen!? Hey Seventeen! Get back here!"
"He's such a trouble maker," Gohan lamented as he began to fly off. "I'll see if I can stop him from causing trouble!"
"Seventeen is really free spirited, isn't he?" Goku said.
"Tell me about it, it's such a pain in the ass," Eighteen said.
Goku's stomach began to growl, the Saiyan patting himself a bit. "Looks like I'm hungry, better get some food." Goku began to fly off. "See you later!"
Eighteen shook her head in annoyance, "Brothers are such a pain, be glad you're an only child Videl."
"Oh Seventeen's not so bad," Videl said, somewhat blushing.
"Just wait til you get to know him some more," Eighteen said, then started taking off. "Alright, lets find another place to train."
"Sure thing," Videl said as she followed after Eighteen.
A week had passed and once again it was time for Cabba and Pan to embark on a new mission. The two had returned to the Time Nest where Chronoa had begun explaining the situation.
"Alright you two, you're about to endure one of your toughest battles," Chronoa said. "Tell me, have either one of you heard anything about Majin Buu?"
"Yeah, Grandpa told me about him," Pan said. "He was a dangerous monster that destroyed a lot of planets, then he split into two. The good one, the one that was friends with my Grandpa Hercule and the bad one, the one that got reborn into Uub."
"I've seen Majin Buu as well, he was at the Universe Six vs Universe Seven Tournament, he was the big pink blob that failed his test and couldn't enter," Cabba said.
"Right, now the Buu you're about to encounter is the one we nicknamed 'Super Buu'," Chronoa explained. 'He had already broken free of his good side and is now rampaging over Planet Earth. At this point the population had been nearly wiped out, save for a few. So you'll have plenty of room for battle, and by this point Super Saiyan 2 is already well known so you don't need to hold back as much."
"Good to know," Cabba said, then turned to Pan. "Are you ready?"
"As long as we're together, there's pretty much nothing we can't accomplish," Pan said.
"You two make quite the team," Chronoa said, then opened up the portal. "In you go."
The two Saiyan fighters had leapt through, being sent several years through time until they landed in a baron wasteland of nothing but rocks as far as the eye can see.
"Seems like a lot of fights the old fights happen in rocky places like this," Pan commented.
"Huh, I haven't noticed that, good eye," Cabba said. "Alright let's try scanning around for any trouble. We'll look for any source of massive energy."
"I can feel something over there," Pan said, gesturing to the west. The two flew over and a fight between Super Buu and a warrior that neither Pan nor Cabba fully recognized, though both could recognize the Super Saiyan 3 form.
"Who is that kid?" Cabba wondered.
"Not sure, he seems familiar though," Pan said, sensing out his energy. "Hm...feels a bit like Trunks and my Uncle Goten...Oh! That must be Gotenks!"
"Huh? Who's Gotenks?" Cabba asked.
"The fusion of Trunks and my Uncle Goten," Pan explained. "Like remember back on the Prison Planet, there were two fusions? Vegito and Kefla?"
"Oh right, so this is them in a fused state," Cabba said.
"Right, except unlike Vegito and Kefla, their fusion was from the dance that Grandpa taught them around this time," Pan said. "So they're using it to fight Buu."
Nearby Gotenks had taken a pretty bad hit from Super Buu, the young warrior getting knocked against a rock formation and bouncing back off to the ground.
"Looks like he's having trouble, let's go," Cabba said, flying in.
"Right behind you! Pan said, following after her friend.
Buu stomped toward Gotenks, relishing in the moment. "It was foolish to think you could put up a decent fight, now this ends little boy!"
"Don't count on it!" Gotenks said, trying to power up again. He flew in to attack once more but took another strong punch, getting knocked aside.
Piccolo had observed from where he was, looking greatly concerned for the young boy. "Dammit! He's at a disadvantage all of a sudden! What could be happening!?"
Gotenks looked pretty worn out himself to the point where he had dropped out of his Super Saiyan 3 form. "Oh crap, this isn't good."
"Your power's diminished," Buu said, charging up some energy. "Which means you're open for defeat. I will make you regret trying to make a fool of me."
"W-wait! Let's talk this over first!" Gotenks attempted to plead.
"No talking!" Super Buu sent out his attack. "Just destruction!"
"No!" Piccoco was about to go in to save them but that's when Cabba had arrived and kicked the ki blast away in time. Before Buu could fully process what happened, Pan had flew in and kicked the demon in the side of the head, knocking him over.
"What in the what?" Gotenks said, seeing two new warriors come into play.
"Huh? Who are they suppose to be?" Piccolo wondered.
Cabba landed beside Gotenks, "Are you doing alright?"
"Uh, yeah, I'm totally fine," Gotenks fibbed. "I was just...uh, trying to get him to let his guard down."
"Really did a convincing job then," Pan teased, landing near the fused fighter. "I was certainly fooled."
"Hey it allowed you to get a punch in!" Gotenks arrogantly pointed out. "Not that I needed either of your help, I can handle this on my own."
"If you say so," Cabba said, then turned his attention back to where Buu was, the monster getting back on his feet, and looking quite furious.
"How dare you!" Buu shouted, angrily stomped toward the trio of fighters.
"Looks like he's coming back for more," Cabba said.
"Let's take him then," Pan said, then turned to Gotenks." Maybe you should sit this out a moment."
"No way! I don't need help!" Gotenks said. "Especially not from a girl!"
"Excuse me!?" Pan shouted, clearly offended by the comment. Cabba was relieved Caulifla wasn't here to hear a comment like that. "What's that suppose to mean!? Girls can be as strong as guys you know!"
"Don't let it get to you, he's a kid, he doesn't know what he's saying," Cabba said.
"Speak for yourself, twig arms!" Gotenks said.
"Twig arms?" Cabba looked toward his arms. They were rather small but that has never mattered to him. Of course Pan seemed more upset about this than he was, the girl ready to clock this fused fighter.
"Look, I can handle the rest of this, you two are better off sitting this out," Gotenks said, then flew in at Buu. "Take this!"
Before they could do anything, Buu retaliated by punching Gotenks so hard he split back into Goten and Trunks, the two landing back near Cabba and Pan, both in a bit of a daze.
"That's what happens when you make split decisions," Pan joked, much to the chagrin of the boys.
"Your jokes suck," Trunks said, sitting up. "Who are you anyway? Where did you even come from?"
"I'd like to know myself," Piccolo said, making his way over. "I've never seen you two before, I was under the impression that everyone on this planet was dead."
"Everyone?" Cabba asked.
"Yeah, that creature over there killed every last Earthling," Piccolo said, gesturing to Buu.
"He also killed all our friends," Goten said. "Along with my mom and my big brother!"
"Mom and Big Brother?" Pan said in worry. She guesses that means that her grandmother and father were both dead. But she remembered something different about her father at this point.
"Are there any other warriors?" Cabba asked, somewhat hoping to hear about Vegeta. "Anyone strong?"
"No, they're all dead," Piccolo said. "These boys are all we have left."
"Wait really?" Pan asked. "No one else? Like no strong warriors? Anyone possibly related to these boys?"
"Only my brother and dad are strong," Goten said. "But like I said, my brother was killed by that monster, and my daddy's been dead for years."
"My dad was pretty strong too, but he died as well fighting that monster," Trunks said.
That seemed to surprise Cabba, that means Vegeta was dead by this point. At least he didn't have to see him die this time but the revelation still shocked the Saiyan.
"I'm...sorry to hear that," Cabba said, then focused back on Buu, who seemed to be asleep for the moment, much to Cabba's confusion. "We'll help avenge them, and all the people that died."
"That's nice of you to do, but we still don't know who you are," Piccolo said.
"I'm Cabba," the boy introduced.
"And my name's Pan," the girl introduced.
"We'd like to tell you where we came from..." Cabba began.
"But the explanation is really complicated," Pan finished.
That didn't satisfy Piccolo's curiosity much, but at this point, he'll take any help he can get. "Alright, just be careful out there."
"Don't worry, we have a nice surprise for that monster," Cabba said, stepping toward the demon with Pan right by his side. "Hey! Majin Buu!"
The creature woke up, glaring at Cabba, "You done talking?"
"Yeah, now we're ready to fight!" Cabba said.
"You'll be going against us!" Pan said.
"Good, I was getting tired of that other fighter," Buu said, stretching a bit. "Alright, show me your strength!"
Cabba and Pan then each powered into Super Saiyan, flying in to hit the demonic monster with a powerful double kick to this chest, flipping back into a double ki blast.
"Did they just turn Super Saiyan!?" Trunks shouted in disbelief. "What gives! There aren't any other Saiyans around!"
"Maybe they're cousins of ours," Goten theorized.
"If other Saiyans existed, my dad would know about!" Trunks said. "Who are those two anyway!?"
Buu rushed back to attack with a punch that knocked Cabba back. He attempted to get Pan but she quickly evaded and went for a kick to Buu's face, leaving him open long enough for Cabba to get a little payback with a flying kick to the head.
"Well they're pretty strong, so that's good, right?" Goten said.
"They're totally showing us off! We can't let them do that!" Trunks said, powering into Super Saiyan. "Come on Goten, I'm not done fighting!"
"Hold it!" Piccolo shouted. "You got your heads bashed in when you were fused together, do you really think you can do anything individually!"
"I'm not letting some girl and her scrawny armed friend take all our glory, come on Goten!" Trunks flew in to attack.
"Wait for me Trunks!" Goten said, powering up and flying in himself.
Piccolo groaned in annoyance, "Damn kids, I never had to deal with this when I was training Gohan."
Buu had knocked Pan back and attempted to blast her, but she quickly deflected it. She flew in to attack again but Trunks had flown past her.
"Out of my way girly! Hes mine!" Trunks tried to attack Buu but he got kicked back, colliding right into Pan.
"Oh no! Pan! Trunks!" Cabba called, then took a blow from Buu during the distraction.
"You can't stop me!" Buu was about to blast Cabba went Goten flew in and sent a few ki blasts to Buu's head. Of course that only served to annoy the creatue as he punched Goten out of the air.
"I got you kid!" Cabba rushed in to grab Goten, but this again left him open to take a blast from behind, courtesy of Buu as the two skidded across the ground.
"I knew this could happen," Piccolo lamented.
Pan angrily sat up, glaring at the boy who collided into her. "Hey what's the big idea!? You just got in my way!"
"I can say the same to you! This is my fight! Not yours!" Trunks said.
"Well you were losing!" Pan argued. "Go back to safety!"
"You can't tell me what to you, you're not my mom!" Trunks shouted.
"Hey! This isn't the time to be fighting with each other!" Cabba pointed out, then gestured to Buu. "We still have a bigger problem!"
"Just let me handle this!" Trunks shouted, flying in again, trying to hit Buu with some punches. The monster quickly dodged the strikes and hit an uppercut that knocked Trunks back.
"You're too weak," Buu taunted.
"No I'm not!" Trunks shouted. "I'll show you!"
"Trunks! Just stand aside and let them handle it! You too Goten!" Piccolo ordered.
"You heard the man," Pan said, flying in after Buu.
"We'll have this done in no time," Cabba said, flying in with Pan, the two double teaming against Buu.
"Ugh, this sucks so much!" Trunks whined. "Why do we gotta let some randos show up and steal our thunder?"
"In case you haven't noticed, you were incredibly outmatched!" Piccolo said. "Buu somehow got a spike in energy that not even your Fusion form could take, if those two hadn't shown up we'd probably be dead."
"Seems a bit suspicious if you ask me," Trunks said.
"Or lucky," Goten said. "Maybe they're Guardian Angels and came down to help us."
"Guardian Angels can go Super Saiyan?" Trunks rhetorically asked.
"Uh...maybe they're Saiyans that came back for a day like my dad did," Goten said.
"Wouldn't they have halos?" Trunks pointed out. "I just find them showing up to be really suspicious."
"We'll ask them more about their origin later, assuming they can actually defeat Majin Buu," Piccolo said. "Though given their strength I'd say the odds are in our favor."
Pan and Cabba continued their double team attack on Buu, Cabba getting a kick to Buu's face, allowing Pan to elbow his stomach and follow up with an uppercut. Cabba flew in right after for a spin kick to Buu's head, knocking him aside.
"We're doing well so far," Cabba said. "Let's keep up the pace."
"Right behind you," Pan said, the two flying in to attack again. Suddenly Buu turned to them and started yelling, loud enough to create a shockwave that hurt not only their ears but the ears of Goten, Trunks and especially Piccolo.
It didn't end there, from the yelling a giant beam came flying out of Buu's mouth, knocking into both Cabba and Pan, the two getting blasted to the ground, rolling a bit before coming to a stop.
"Wow that was loud," Trunks said, removing his hands from his ears.
"Yeah, hopefully Pan and Cabba are alright from that," Goten said.
Nearby the two warriors got back on their feet, both of them a bit annoyed and furious from the blast attack.
"Talk about a dirty trick," Cabba said, getting back on his feet. "Pan, let's return the favor."
"Got it," Pan and Cabba both charged up ki energy of their own, Pan firing off her her maiden blast while Cabba fired a two handed blast of his own, both attacks going right through Buu, knocking him off his feet.
"Nice shot," Cabba said. "Think that did some damage."
Seconds later, Buu propped himself up, a giant hole visible in his stomach area. Naturally he looked rather furious. "You infuriate me!" Buu healed himself and charged up. "No one makes a mockery of me! I will destroy you!"
"Hey be careful!" Goten warned. "He's getting really angry!"
"Don't worry, we got this under control!" Pan insisted.
"You have this under control do you? Well perhaps I shall hand you the ultimate defeat!" Buu readied his antenna. "Take this!"
"Cabba move!" Pan warned, quickly moving her friend out the way as the beam passed both of them and landed on a rock, turning it into a chocolate bar. "That was close."
"Did he just turn that rock into candy?" Cabba asked.
"That's a technique Majins are capable of," Pan said. "I know the Buu of my time can do it, and so can Uub. Plus Android 21 did it on the Prison Planet, Bulla saw her do it to a bunch of Saibamen."
"I will turn you into candy!" Buu shouted, trying to zap again, the two quickly dodging out of the way. Pan sent a blast at Buu's head, completely blowing a hole through it.
The monster regrew his head and stretched his arm to punch Pan across her jaw. Cabba flew aside and sent a few ki blasts, but Buu had whacked Cabba with his extended arm. Pan flew to attack but Buu punched her stomach and flung her right into Cabba, knocking them both over.
"They're having trouble, we should try to help them," Goten said.
"Gee, I thought they said they had it," Trunks mocked.
"Come on Trunks, they're trying to help us, the least we can do is make sure they're alright," Goten said. "At least help them stall long enough so we can fuse again."
"Alright fine," Trunks said. The two flew in and started firing ki blasts at Buu to get his attention. "Hey you oversized wad of gum! Come and take us on if you think you can!"
"Gum huh? Sounds like a good idea," Buu sinisterly stated as he readied his candy beam. "Or perhaps some taffy, or a lollipop."
"No way you're turning us into food!" Trunks shouted, readying a giant ki blast and tossing it at Buu, the monster deflecting.
Goten rushed aside, charging up his family's signature attack, "Kameka-I mean hame-HA!" The beam was sent right at Buu, the monster catching and rebounding it back. "Oh crap!"
"I got you buddy!" Trunks shouted, quickly moving Goten out the way.
"Almost got you kid," Buu said, readying another attack. "The next one won't miss.
"Take this!" Pan flew over and kicked Buu in the head, stunning him for a moment. However he punched her in the stomach and then kicked her right at the boys.
"What in the-" Trunks felt Pan collide into him hard, knocking the two over. "Ow..."
Cabba tried to attack himself but he took a kick to the face, Buu then appearing beside him and blasting him toward Goten, the older Saiyan colliding with the young boy.
"What a pain," Cabba said, standing up.
"Yeah, you said it," Pan said, sitting up, unaware that she was sitting on Trunks's stomach.
"Hey get off me!" Trunks demanded. Pan quickly got off, not wanting to sit on the boy. "Man you're heavy, what do you-"
Suddenly Pan stepped on his face, angrily huffing down at the boy, "You stupid idiot! That's not something you say to a girl!"
"Pan, I told you not to mind him too much, he's just a little kid saying stupid things, don't put stock into it," Cabba said.
"Hey, I didn't ask for your opinion shorty!" Trunks shouted, then took another foot to his face.
"Don't disrespect Cabba!" Pan warned.
"Hey! Stop fighting among yourselves!" Piccolo called out to them. "You still have Buu to worry about!"
"He's right, everyone focus!" Cabba ordered. "Trunks, Goten, if you're gonna help then you have to cooperate!"
"Ugh, this is so bogus," Trunks said.
"Come on Trunks, remember what he did to everyone," Goten said. "What he did to my mom, your mom, your dad, my brother, Videl and the rest of our friends!"
"Videl?" Pan muttered, then turned to Goten. "This monster, did he kill everyone you knew?"
"Uh-huh, he turned my mom into an egg and crushed her!" Goten said. "He beat up and killed by brother, then he turned everyone else into candy!"
Pan's eye twitched a bit, hearing what this creature did to her parents infuriated her, "He's going down!"
Acting on her own, Pan rushed in and punched Buu hard across the jaw. She then unleashed several more attacks, hitting him at several angles, knocking the creature around, really laying into him.
"Wow! She's amazing!" Goten praised.
"She's alright I guess," Trunks commented.
Cabba shook his head at Trunks, as he turned away from earshot, "You're such a little punk."
During Pan's onslaught, she at one pointed considered firing a Kamehameha, knowing that the consequence isn't that big of a deal. She cupped her hands to charge, "Kamehame-HA!"
Pan blasted Buu in the face, leaving Goten amazed by her technique, "Wow! She can do a Kamehameha too! That's so cool!"
"Uh, how?" Trunks asked. "Did she learn from seeing you do it?"
"Well Gohan told me that's how our dad learned, he saw Master Roshi do it and he tried doing it," Goten said. "Maybe this girl is talented like that."
"Not that talented, look," Trunk said, gesturing to the fact that while Buu took the attack and took some damage, he was still standing.
"You irritable brat," Buu cupped his hands together and chargd some energy. "I shall destroy you!"
"Hey is he copying my move!?" Pan wondered.
"I got you Pan!" Cabba shouted, flying in and kicking Buu in the middle of his attack. "Time to take this up a level." Cabba powered up again, this time appearing as a Super Saiyan 2, something both Goten and Trunks were amazed by.
"So he can go a level beyond!" Goten said. "That's so neat!"
"Seriously, who is he?" Trunks wondered.
Piccolo rubbed his chin curiously, "There is so much about those two that raise many questions. I should be grateful for their help but at the same time it worries me that they seem to just exist."
Cabba rushed in to continue attacking Buu, getting in blow after blow, knocking the demonic being for a loop each time. Cabba then readied his own attack, "Galick Cannon!" In an instant, the blast overcame Buu, doing a little extra damage than Pan's Kamehameha. There seemed to be nothing left of Buu, much to Cabba's confusion and somewhat worry, "Did I desroy him? Hope not, it may have negative repercussions on the timeline."
"You're fine," Chronoa said, getting Cabba's attention. "You're doing a great job of weakening him. Just do a little bit more damage."
"Alright," Cabba turned to Pan. "Let's finish this."
"Hey let us help too!" Trunks said, flying over.
"Yeah, I want to help stop Buu too!" Goten flew right by Trunks's side. "We'll do this together!"
"Sounds good to me," Cabba said as he turned his attention back to Buu. "Ready team?"
Pan and Goten charged up a Kamehameha, Cabba recharged his Galick Cannon and Trunks charged up a Finish Buster. Using the extent of their power, the four sent a massive beam right at Buu, getting a direct hit on the monster, greatly diminishing his power.
"I think that did it!" Piccolo said, getting his hopes up. "That might have defeated Majin Buu!"
"Yeah, alright! We did it Pan!" Cabba said, high-fiving the girl. "You too Goten." Cabba high-fived the boy. "And you Trunks." Cabba was left hanging, much to his awkwardness. "Alright, none of that then."
"Does this mean we won?" Goten asked.
"I can still sense his power..." Trunks said. "I don't think we won yet, though he does seem a bit out of it."
"Well, at least he doesn't feel as strong," Goten said. "We just have to finish the job."
"Yeah, maybe you two can take a hike then," Trunks said.
"Trunks!" Goten scolded. "They just helped us, be nice!"
"It's fine, he seems like the stubborn, bratty type," Pan said, then rubbed Goten's head. "At least you're a nice kid."
"Gee thanks," Goten said, somewhat blushing. "And you're really pretty."
"I know I am," Pan boasted.
"Don't bother flirting with her Goten, she's probably the scrawny guy's boyfriend," Trunks commented, somewhat disheartening Goten, embarrassing Cabba and annoying Pan.
"We're not dating..." Cabba said. "We're just friends."
"Wow really!" Goten said, getting somewhat excited. "So, maybe after this is over-"
"Let me cut you off," Pan said. "I like you kid, but you seem more like a little brother to me, sorry."
"Ooh, you just got placed in the Friend Zone dude," Trunks said. "Sorry about that."
Pan scowled a bit at Trunks, then turned Goten to her. "You're still really cute though, you'll find yourself a pretty girl, just make sure she's the right girl for you." Pan kissed his head, getting more of a blush.
"Wow, thanks..." Goten turned away to hide his blush. "Lucky me, right Trunks?"
"Eh, she's not my type, too brawny," Trunks said, getting a punch to his jaw. "Can you stop hitting me every time you get just a tiny bit upset!"
"Stop saying stupid things then!" Pan shouted.
"Hey," Piccolo said, making his way over to the four. His attention was specifically aimed toward Cabba and Pan, "First, I'd like to thank you both for your help."
"It's no trouble at all sir," Cabba said, saluting the Namekian.
"Yeah, nothing the two of us can't handle," Pan proudly stated.
"Good, now that the gratitude is out of the way, I have a few questions for the two of you, starting with where exactly did you come from?" Piccolo asked.
"Oh, you know...around," Pan said, Cabba briefly glancing at her in confusion.
Piccolo couldn't believe this answer, "Around? That's it?"
"Well, does it really matter? We just got sent here to help and that's what we did," Pan said.
"Who sent you?" Piccolo asked.
"Uh..." Pan quickly looked around, hoping for a distraction. Thankfully one came up with Buu stumbling forward, the monster even more furious by the beating he took.
"I will...destroy you!" Buu said, looking ready to blast everyone to bits. "No one makes a fool out of Buu!" The monster charged up. "NO ONE!"
A fight looked ready to break out, all five of the warriors getting into a defensive position. Suddenly a huge surge of energy was felt, something massive.
"What is that power!?" Piccolo turned to the direction it was emanating from. "Is it friend or enemy!?"
Trunks looked curious when he saw it, "Is that...Goten's dad?"
Coming in from the distance was a warrior, one that they all knew, one Pan and Cabba had to pretend to not know. Goten however couldn't contain his excitement, "It's not my dad! It's my brother!"
"Gohan!?" Trunks looked toward the direction of the fighter. "Wait, he's alive!?"
The oldest son of Goku had landed, Piccolo amazed by what he was seeing. This normally meek warrior standing as tall and determined as Goku, even wearing the same gi. "It is Gohan!"
"Wow..." Pan looked amazed, this was the coolest she's seen her dad look. "So amazing!"
Gohan turned his attention to the group of warriors, "Sorry I'm late, but I'm here now, so I'll take care of the rest."
"Gohan! I'm so glad you're alive!" Goten said in glee. "I thought you were killed by Majin Buu!"
"I almost was, but it would take a lot more than a cheap shot to defeat me for good," Gohan said. The boy then noticed Cabba and Pan. "You two...I don't think I know you, yet you seem kind of familiar."
"Who us?" Pan asked. "Uh, we're just local warriors who wanted to help."
"Well I appreciate you keeping my little brother alive," Gohan marched over to Buu, feeling determined to stop this monster. "I'm gonna finish what you started."
"Oh, so you want to fight me tough guy?" Buu smugly asked.
"No, I don't want to fight you," Gohan said. "I want to kill you."
"So badass..." Pan said. "Pa...Uh that guy is so cool!"
"Gohan will save us, we've got nothing to worry about!" Goten said, getting excited. "Go get him big bro!"
As Cabba and Pan eagerly sat aside, they both heard a voice ringing in their head, "Cabba, Pan, why don't you come back now. You did enough damage, Gohan can handle the rest from here."
Cabba and Pan quickly turned to each other and nodded, quickly backing away until both of them disappeared. However this action didn't go unnoticed by Goten, the boy looking a bit confused.
"Wonder where they went?" Goten shrugged it off and focused on the upcoming battle between Buu and Gohan.
Pan and Cabba reappeared at the Time Nest, the two looking satisfied with the job well done. Chronoa greeted the two, the Kai of course once again pleased with their work. "You both did great, I really appreciate your help."
"It's no trouble Supreme Kai of Time," Cabba said. "This is such an interesting experience."
"Well it's not quite over, there's another anomaly I want you to check out, it's around this same general time but it's during the final battle on Supreme Kai's Planet of Universe Seven," Chronoa explained. "You won't be engaged with the battle though, I need you to check on something at the side."
"You got it," Pan said. "Just send us off and we'll take care of whatever is causing trouble."
"Preparing the coordinates now," Chronoa said, using her magic to summon up a portal. "Be careful out there, there's something oddly familiar out there."
"Well it would have to be familiar, we're going back in time aren't we?" Pan jokingly pointed out. "But whatever's out there, we'll fix. Let's go Cabba."
"Yeah," Cabba said, following Pan into the portal, leaving Chronoa to herself, the Kai somewhat concerned.
"The energy I feel out there, so familiar..." Chronoa tapped her chin, trying to think of what could be up.
Pan and Cabba had arrived back in time, finding themselves on the Planet of the Kais. The two looked around for any sign of trouble.
"You know, thinking about it, I wish The Supreme Kai of Time would explain things a little better," Pan said. "I mean, I don't see anyone here."
"She wouldn't send us to the middle of nowhere, whatever the anomaly is, it's gotta be close by," Cabba said.
Within seconds, a mysterious figure had appeared behind the two, "So you're the ones she's hired."
"Huh?" Pan turned around to face the enemy. "Who are you?"
"Call me Sealas," the being introduced. "You two must be Cabba, the Saiyan of Universe 6 and Pan, granddaughter of the Saiyan Goku."
"You know us?" Cabba asked.
"I've heard of you from Towa," Sealas explained. "She warned me of two young Saiyans who would be causing a bit of a stir and possibly get in the way of my ultimate goal."
"Your goal? What are you up to?" Cabba asked.
"Worry not, my goal is a noble one," Sealas said. "I only wish to erase all evil from time and space, to create a peaceful timeline where everyone exists together in Harmony."
"Huh? That's...actually not so bad," Pan said. "I don't see the harm in what he's doing."
"Hey!" Chronoa shouted in her head. "Don't get sidetracked!"
"You don't need to shout, I can hear you just fine," Pan muttered.
"Can we trust your word?" Cabba asked. "I mean for all we know, this might be a ruse."
"It's understandable you may not trust me, I don't know if The Supreme Kai of Time told you about me, but the two of us never really saw eye to eye," Sealas said.
"You know her?" Pan asked.
"Yes, I was once her partner, one of the original time patrollers," Sealas explained. "I disagreed with her ideals over time however, and was cast aside as a result. It was at that moment that I realized if I wanted things to change, then I had to take that opportunity into my own hands."
"Don't listen to his nonsense, he has a twisted sense of justice," Chronoa warned.
"How exactly are you planning on this change?" Cabba asked.
"Simple, I must restart the flow of time, it is the only way to purse all of the evil from the past and start the world anew," Sealas said. "To do that, I need power, which is why I am here. Right now Goku and Vegeta are doing battle against the Pure form of Majin Buu. This is the perfect spot to start gathering the energy needed for my plan."
"Energy?" Cabba asked. "Wait, are you going to steal their energy? Like Towa and Mira do?"
"Something like that, though I wouldn't call it stealing, more I would be properly utilizing it," Sealas said. "It all starts with Ahms."
"Who or what is Ahms?" Cabba asked.
"My creation," Sealas said. "Ahms! Show yourself!"
Landing behind the two was a strange looking creature, half of it resembling Cell and half of it resembling Frieza, but looking rather grotesque in the eyes of the two.
"Uh, what is that!?" Pan asked, very grossed out. "And why does it look so freaky?"
"That's Ahms, I created him for the sole purpose of my mission, to create the perfect timeline free of evil," Sealas said.
"Why does it look the way it does?" Cabba asked. "The schemes, it reminds me of that of Freiza and Cell."
"Of course, I had to use their powers to further allow evolution for my creature," Sealas said. "It involved a bit of traveling, to get the power of both Frieza and Cell, I needed to visit both timelines shortly before either one had been defeated, thus utilizing their power for my benefit."
"That resulted in this freaky looking monster!?" Pan asked, still wanting nothing to do with it.
"Appearances are subjective," Sealas said. "But yes, it did result in it's current appearance. Now that I'm here I can add more to it, the stronger the monster, the closer I am to my ultimate goal to restart the timelines."
"This can't be safe, why would you utilize such dangerous villains for your creation!? What if it gets corrupt!?" Cabba said.
"I have this fully under control," Sealas said. "Now that you know my goal, I kindly ask that you step aside and let me fulfil my current mission. I must absorb Majin Buu."
"Sure, just get that thing-" Pan was interrupted once again by Chronoa.
"Don't let him absorb any power! It's highly dangerous!" Chronoa scolded. "Just put a stop to him!"
"But..." Pan wasn't sure if that was a good idea, he did seem to have noble intentions, despite the monster chosen.
"Pan, we can't let him disrupt the timelines, it might cause unfathomable damage," Cabba said, turning back to Sealas. "Sorry but we were given orders to stop you."
"You will allow yourself to be a puppet under the ruling of the Supreme Kai of Time?" Sealas asked.
"Call it what you will, I trust her judgement enough to know that what you're doing is wrong," Cabba said. "If you leave me with no choice, I will put a stop to you!"
"What a shame," Sealas said. "Such a bright future, yet you would throw it all away on a whim, just because you believe in a Goddess you know little about."
"That's enough!" Cabba said, powering into his Super Saiyan 2 form. "If you don't leave, then I'll have no choice but to engage you in combat!"
"Very well," Sealas turned to his creation. "Ahms, destroy him."
Ahms powered up as well, and flew in to clash with Cabba, the boy engaging in battle against the sinister creature.
"Cabba!" Pan shouted in worry as the two battled it out. Ahms got in a blow to Cabba's stomach but the boy had hit an uppercut to knock the monster back.
"I fought Cell and Frieza before, now I'll do it again!" Cabba said, knocking the creature to the ground below. As Ahms stood up, Cabba reappeared by it's side and hit a massive punch to knock it back some more.
Pan felt a bit conflicted, she really didn't think Sealas was doing anything that bad, but at the same time, she didn't want to risk leaving Cabba to fight for himself. Though the boy seemed to be doing well at least.
Ahms charged up some energy and fired it at Cabba, the boy deflecting and firing a Galick Cannon to knock the monster back. "Maybe I can-"
Suddenly Sealas appeared behind Cabba and kicked him in the back, leaving him open long enough for Ahms to fly in with an elbow to his stomach, the two flying overhead and whacking him to the ground.
"Cabba!" Pan flew in to check on her friend. "Are you alright Cabba?"
"I'm fine, nothing I can't handle," Cabba said.
Pan glared up at Sealas, "Hey that wasn't fair! You can't just sneak up on someone like that!"
"He was in my way, if you're smart you'll get him out of here while I go and do what I need to do," Sealas said.
"I...Is this really safe? I mean if you take from the timelines, you might mess something up!" Pan said. "What if you messed something up by taking Cell and Frieza!"
"Your precious Supreme Kai of Time already fixed those, in a quite unforgiving way," Sealas said.
"Huh? What does that mean!?" Pan asked. "Did she separate the timelines!? Wait, maybe if she can do that here then there's no need for fighting!"
"Pan, this isn't a game!" Chronoa said. "If it were that simple I wouldn't need time patrollers!"
"What is he even talking about then?" Pan asked.
"Ugh, Cabba please try to talk sense into Pan, and trash that traitor while you're at it!" Chronoa ordered.
Cabba nodded and turned to his friend, "We gotta do our job Pan. He is in no authority to reset anything, for all we know his so-called sense of justice is probably his own twisted desires. We can't leave that to chance. If he affects anything here, well it could affect your own existence, as well as your friends. If Buu is absorbed, you run the risk of Uub never existing, and we can't just rely on The Supreme Kai of Time to separate the timelines."
"But there has to be a reasonable solution," Pan said. "I just can't fight someone who only wants to help!"
"You really think someone who fights dirty has any desire to truly help?" Chronoa said.
"This is a waste of my time," Sealas said. "Last chance, leave or I must destroy you."
"I won't let you win!" Cabba flew to attack Sealas but Ahms intersected and blocked, the two engaging once again.
"If that's how you want to play," Sealas readied an attack. "Then I shall dispose of you!"
Just as he was about to attack, a Super Saiyan Pan flew in and kicked Sealas in the head, stunning him long enough for a follow up attack. "Kamehame-HA!"
Sealas took the blast head on, though he did his best to hold back. However at that pointed, Cabba had kicked Ahms away and quickly turned to the creator of this monster. "Galick Cannon!"
With the combined attacks, Sealas was overpowered and was sent flying back, overtaken by the beams. He then fell to the ground below, feeling the effects of the attack.
Ahms flew in to attack but the two sent out a double ki blast to stun it, then zipped in with a double punch to the stomach area and a double elbow to the ground below.
"Let's destroy it!" Cabba said, readying another ki blast, Pan about to do the same.
Sealas quickly flew in to grab Ahms out of the way. He then created a portal to escape, but not without a message, "You got lucky this time, next time we meet, I will destroy you both!" He ventured into the portal, one last message. "Nothing will stop me from destroying the Scroll of Eternity!"
"Dammit, he got away!" Cabba said, powering out of his transformed state. "Well at least we protected the timeline."
"I'm sorry Cabba," Pan said, also powering out. "I hesitated too much."
"It's fine, I get that you understand his desires to erase evil, but such a thing is too good to be true," Cabba said. "If we let him change things, well the consequences may be irreparable."
"But he wants to purge evil, can he really be that bad?" Pan asked.
"It is," Chronoa said, getting their. "Time to come back you two, I'll explain at the Time Nest."
"Sure thing Supreme Kai of Time," Cabba said.
Within seconds, both Cabba and Pan got warped away from the Land of the Kais back to the Time Nest. The timeline safe, Chronoa had placed the scroll back where it belonged, though the Kai knew that more danger would come, as it usually does. For now she had some work to do, and a bit of explaining as well.
"You two deserve an explanation, as to who that was," Chronoa said, facing the two. "Well as I mentioned before, he was one of the first Time Patrollers. He had a strong sense of justice and wanted to ensure the survival and safety of others Every mission he would do a top notch job, and he was quite dependable. But he was also foolish."
"Foolish how?" Cabba asked.
"See I usually joined him whenever we went patrolling, and almost every time, he would attempt to change the timeline," Chronoa explained. "If he saw an innocent person in danger, he felt the need to go in and save that person, which in turn could cause negative affects in the timeline."
"How is that a bad thing?" Pan asked. "Saving someone should be a good thing."
"Yes, saving someone in the present is a good thing, saving someone in the past is pointless because the event already happened," Chronoa explained.
"But what's the worse that can happen?" Pan said. "Is saving a life really that detrimental? Or even putting a stop to a villain? I mean, is it really that terrible of a thing to do?"
"Pan, maybe you don't understand consequences of time alteration, but I do," Chronoa said. "Changing the timeline is very risky! Sometimes the end result could end up much worse!"
"It can't be that bad, I mean when Trunks went back in time to warn Grandpa and the others about The Androids, everything worked out," Pan said.
"That was luck!" Chronoa said. "What Trunks did nearly got the Earth destroyed! That would have been worse than what The Androids did! Trunks affecting the timeline just made a stronger enemy! If Cell won, not only would Earth be doomed, so would the entire Universe! Cell would have gone from Planet to Planet destroying everything! All the Androids did was torment one planet."
"You say that like it's not so bad!" Pan said. "People died, and if things stayed the same then I probably wouldn't have even been born! Would it have been better that way!?"
"I'm not sayin..." Chronoa took a break to figure things out. "Look, I'll admit things turned out well, and it's because they turned out well that you were able to exist, but that doesn't change the fact that Trunks pulled a very risky move. Sad as Earth's future was, in the end it's only one planet, compare that to other planets who could have been affected. All that was just with a Time Machine too, now imagine people like me who have the magic to actually affect the timelines. When villains like Towa and Mira attack, if my Time Patrollers fail, I have to step in and separate the timelines with my own magic, or if worse comes to worse, I have to completely erase it."
"Erase it!?" Pan asked. "As in, make it disappear? Forever?"
Chronoa nodded, "Yes, I have to completely destroy it to prevent it from affecting the other timelines. One way or another, it takes a lot of power and energy to do, and I can't afford to exhaust myself, otherwise that would be inviting danger to the Time Nest."
"She's right Pan," Cabba said. "If we're being told to do this, then it must be for a good reason."
"But...what if Sealas can make a better timeline?" Pan asked.
"Pan, he would create one singular timeline," Chronoa said. "If he did that, all the other ones would erase, that means you won't get to see Cabba, at least not in this way. You might not even exist, because the events leading to your birth were affected by Frieza. If your grandfather wasn't sent to Earth then there's no guarantee you would even be the same, or even exist. Is that a chance you want to take?"
"Well...not really," Pan said.
"Just trust me, please," Chronoa said. "Don't end up like Sealas, do the right thing, even if it seems hard. Believe me, I know it's hard, I have the power to go back and save people, but I also know that doing so could lead to catastrophic results. In time you will understand where I'm coming from Pan."
"I hope so..." Pan said. She still had her doubts however.
Cabba took her by the hand, "Let's take our mind off this a bit, with some ice cream."
"I'd like that," Pan admitted, a tint of a blush forming on her face.
The duo made their way into the market area, leaving Chronoa to herself a moment. "Those two do make a cute couple. Maybe I can work a little something for them. But what should I do?" Chronoa turned away, thinking to herself. "I do wish I had someone to date though, maybe Trunks, if he weren't so dense at times.
Back in the Z Timeline, Videl was walking through the forest late in the evening, having finished her training with Eighteen. As the older woman had gone to fetch Seventeen, her brother making a bit of trouble at Capsule Corp, Videl decided to bath at the nearby spring.
As she neared the spring, she noticed that someone was already there. Standing waist deep in the water was Gohan, the boy taking a bath of his own. Videl quickly hid behind a rock, keeping an eye on Gohan.
The boy slowly stepped out of the water, Videl getting a nice look at his well toned body. She felt weird about this, she knows she shouldn't stare, it's a violation of his privacy, granted he never seemed to care that much, but she would care if it were her.
Gohan picked up a towel and dried himself off. Of course during this, he could actually feel the girl's presence. "Videl? Is that you?"
Videl freaked out a bit, wondering how Gohan even knew. She sheepishly stepped out from behind the rock. "Hi Gohan."
"Hi Videl, is there something you need?" Gohan asked.
Videl couldn't believe this, Gohan was so cool about being naked in front of her, she had some difficulty keeping her eyes up as they kept angling down. "Oh, it's nothing Gohan...I just, well, I came by to bathe, but if you're here then that's fine, I'll wait."
"Well I'm just about done, I guess you want privacy, that's understandable," Gohan said. "I'll just put my clothes on and be on my way."
"Alright..." Videl started to feel a bit crummy, Gohan was being really nice after she had previously been the opposite in this situation. "Gohan...how come you're cool about being naked?"
"Huh? Uh, I don't know," Gohan said. "I'm just comfortable with myself so I don't really feel embarrassed. Granted I know not to be naked in public but since you're a friend I don't feel bothered around you."
"But last time I was naked, I got mad at you, yet you've been naked twice and barely reacted, the only time you seemed to be embarrassed was when you put on that girl's panties," Videl said.
"Ugh, that..." Gohan blushed. "I'd rather be naked than wear a girl's panties, at least nudity is more natural."
"That's an odd way of saying it, some might feel the opposite, but to each their own," Videl said.
"Well I should leave, I imagine you want your privacy and I'd rather not get on your bad side again," Gohan said, about to leave.
"About that..." Videl sheepishly rubbed her head. "I'm really sorry for overreacting, I mean you didn't when I saw you naked, and I should have known better than to treat you like some kind of pervert."
"It's fine, dad told me Bulma reacted that way too, and mom, guess it's a girl thing," Gohan said.
"Not exactly, some guys would be upset too, I would think at least," Videl said. "Some girls probably wouldn't mind it either."
"Eighteen doesn't mind, at least when it's me," Gohan said.
"Well, if Eighteen doesn't mind..." Videl gripped at her shirt as she started to pull it off. "Then I won't either!"
"Hey what are you-" Gohan's question was answered when Videl took her shirt off, revealing bare skin to the boy. "Whoa! You don't need to do that if it makes you uncomfortable."
"I'm fine, now be quiet!" Videl insisted as she continued to undress.
Gohan wasn't sure what to make of this, a girl was getting undressed in front of him, this was such a weird concept, yet he couldn't turn away.
Within seconds the girl was fully nude in front of Gohan, just like she was that other day. The boy just stared, taking in the sight. While she wasn't as plump as Eighteen was, her body was nothing to nod off. She was in great physical condition, and very well toned. What really peaked his curiousity was both her breast area and her private region, not to mention her backside when she turned slightly.
"So...how do you feel right now?" Gohan wasn't sure if that was the right question to ask, but he had to say something.
"I feel...fine," Videl fibbed. She was pretty uncomfortable, and somewhat regrets doing this. Thankfully Gohan was handling this well, but she did notice a blush on his face as he stared. Instinctively she began to cover up. "You don't need to look right at me."
"Oh! I'm sorry," Gohan said, turning away. "It's just that, you look really nice."
"Well yeah, I guess," Videl said. She noticed that Gohan was getting hard below the belt, almost flattered that she got him feeling that way. "Well, I should head into the water."
"Yeah, I'm gonna get dressed and find Eighteen," Gohan said.
"She's at Capsule Corp, her brother was causing trouble," Videl said.
Gohan groaned in annoyance, "He's always doing something stupid."
"He's just free spirited," Videl said. "I mean, that's fine, isn't it?"
"Yeah maybe, still," Gohan began to get dressed. "Enjoy your bath."
"Hey, if you ever want to, you can join me, I mean we're friends right, we can even invite Seventeen and Eighteen," Videl said.
"Huh?" the thought of bathing with a naked Eighteen did entice Gohan, for similar reasons Videl did. "I guess that sounds fine. Never bathed with both of them together, though I'm not sure how comfortable they would be though. Seventeen might feel awkward around you."
"Well it's worth an ask," Videl said. "If not then you can just join me and Eighteen."
"I'll think about it," Gohan said, having fully gotten dressed. "Well see ya."
The boy had flown off, leaving Videl to herself, the girl thinking over the offer she had just laid out to Gohan, and why she even made it. Perhaps it was her own dirty mind, seeing the boy naked again some more, not just him but also Seventeen, the idea of an attractive guy like that in nothing but his birthday suit did entice Videl a little more than Gohan.
"One day, maybe..." Videl said, relaxing in the spring and taking her mind off her troubles for the moment.
