"Where have you been?" Naomi asked accusingly, "I've been looking for you everywhere, I found Collin!"

"You did?" Reese raised her brows surprised, "Where is he?"

"Well," Naomi paused, "Before I tell you, you have to promise you won't freak out."

"Why would I freak out?" Reese's voice trailed.

"Because Collin isn't alone."

"Oh," Reese's said silently, "I didn't think he would be."

"Are you okay?"

"I mean yea," she said pulling herself together, "It's been two years, he's allowed to move on."

"Okay, well he's over by the bar," she looked at Reese concerned, "do you want me to come with you?"

"No," Reese said quickly, "I'll be fine."

Reese walked stiffly through the party towards the designated bar area, her my mind focused on her gentle footsteps that seemed to echo throughout the room. As she approached the bar, she could see Collin, towering over the guests that surrounded him as he engaged in conversation. His frame was tall and firm, his muscles rippling through the white cotton shirt and silky black vest that hugged his chest. His raven black hair glistened in the moonlight that peered through the oversized accordion doors; the moonlight illuminated his youthful skin revealing his strong jawline and alluring hazel eyes. God had molded him to spoil eyes, and Reese fought the urge to look away.

As she moved closer, their eyes met, and she could see a playful smile spread across his lips behind his champagne glass. He made his way over to her and for a moment they stood appraising each other, seeing how the last couple years had changed them.

"You look good," Collin finally said breaking the silence.

"Nice of you to notice," Reese said quickly, "What are you doing here?" she said tilting her head to the side.

"You know, I've always liked a good party," he smirked.

"Right," her voice faded into the background.

"So, how have you been?" he said less confident before, almost shy even.

"Look," she paused, "Collin I really can't do this right now?"

"Do what?" he raised his brow, "talk to me? You know," he paused, "I was kind of disappointed that you had Naomi reach out to me about the house, which looks great by the way," he said looking around, "You've really out done yourself, but I thought we agreed that no matter what, we always would be able to talk."

"I think that agreement has been null and void for quite some time, wouldn't you agree?"

"It doesn't have to be," he said staring at her intensely.

"Meaning?" her voice lingered in the air.

"I miss you, Reese," his smooth, full voice filled her itching ears. It was something that she had wondered for a long time, "I keep thinking what if we would have gotten married, how different our lives would've been. We were good once," he smiled warmly.

"I used to think so too," she said firmly, looking at his softened hazel eyes.

"And now?" he searched her eyes for a glimpse of hopefulness.

"Collin, I don't think taking a trip down 'what could have been' is a good idea."

"Since when are you full of good ideas," he joked, "remember the lake house?"

"Yes," she emitted a soft chuckle, "that was a good day."

"See," he smiled.

"No Collin," she scoffed, "That's all it was. Just a stream of good days between you and I. We weren't really happy."

"What happened to you," he said raising his brow, "You're different. You're not the same girl I fell in love with."

"You mean the one you cheated on," she said quickly, "No, I haven't been that girl for a while."

"Reese," he whispered softly.

"Aren't you here with someone?" she asked firmly.

"You mean Cara?" he smirked, "Clearly you remember my little sister. She's been dying to see this house ever since Naomi reached out, I guess I have been too," he said gazing in her eyes.

"Oh," she said blinking rapidly, "Well, I appreciate the support and I hope you and Cara enjoy the rest of the party," she said turning to walk away.

"Reese," he called after her, "You've met someone haven't you?"

Reese turned around on her heel "Why do you think that?"

"Because despite how much you think you've changed, I still know you, "he smirked, lowering his head, "Are you happy?"

Reese stood quietly for a moment before responding, thinking about Christian in the midst of confronting her past with Collin.

"It's still early, but yes," she said softly, clearing her throat, "he wants to make me happy."

"Well, I guess I blew it" Collin smiled meeting her gaze, "take care Reese," he said turning to rejoin the crowd.

"Yea, you too," she mumbled, turning once again to walk away.
