A/N: thanks for the request! It took forever to get to bc I forgot this acc existed for a hot second- As requested this is a scene where Clay lets go of Hannah.

Clay and Skye had been out on a date, it wasn't a very proper one. No going out to fancy candle-lit restaurants under a full moon. They had some leftover Chinese takeout and were hanging out in Clays room. His parents were out at an art gallery, where they were eating cheese and drinking cheap wine- most likely oblivious that Clay had a girl over. In his room, the pale not locked the door, just to be safe. Turning to Skye with a small smile, he knew the same thing was going through both of their heads.

"So.." Clay began, plopping down next to her with a resistant creak from the bed. Skye scoffed, "So what? I keep telling you to finish your sentences, Jensen." Clay rolled his eyes, turning to face her. "You know what," He replied, looking down then wiping some dust from the bed.

Skye gently took off his hoodie, and Clay looked up. Letting her slip the faded blue-grey hoodie off of his shoulders, it fell onto the floor. "Clay- listen.." Skye began, a worried gone in her voice. "Hmm..?" Clay replied, looking up at her.

Tracing circles on her finger nervously, she said "Clay.. everyone time we try to-.. you know- you just freak out." Taking a deep breath she blurted out, "I can't keep having you push me away Clay!" Surprised at her own outburst she grabbed Clay's arm, which was now bare.

Her cold fingers made him flinch. He sighed, "I don't push you away Skye." He said, looking up at her lovingly. He bit his lip with concern, placing one of his rough hands on hers.

"Yes you do." She argued back, sliding her hand away from his. It was hard to make out her expression in the dim lighting, the busted lamp not providing much light. "You're so hung up in Hannah fucking Baker! I would understand if she died a week ago Clay, but she didn't. Its been months."

Clay's hands balled up into fists, turning his knuckles white against his already pale skin. He started to get teary, thankful Skye couldn't already see him very well. With what felt like a unripe lime in his throat he squeaked out, "I'm over Hannah," turning away from her, Clay focused on the steady stream of cold air being blown on him from his rickety fan. Skye grasped his wrists.

"Clay! She's dead. You act like every time you try to love me Hannah is out there trying to tell me to fuck off! I thought you loved me, and I know you think you do but.." Skye sighed, frustrated she closed her eyes. "You love Hannah." She opened her eyes, tears were forming.

Clay stayed silent, trying to process what she was saying. Deep down he knew Skye was right. Ever since listened to the tapes he hadn't been the same. "I.." He sighed out, slumping.

Letting a single tear fall from his eye, Clay began to think about what Hannah would've wanted. He heard Skye take a breath to begin her sentence, and placed a shaky hand on her lower thigh. "I love you, Jensen. I don't know what would've happened if I hadn't have met you.. but we can't go on like this. Please Clay, just tell me you love me! Tell me for sure there's no one else you want more!" As Skye cried, she had gripped his shoulders and started into his eyes. She gave him a crisp order, one that sounded easy.

Love her.

The problem was though, he wasn't sure if he could. He turned to face her, seeing Hannah instead. He tried to block her out of his mind. Taking a deep breath, he thought about it. He knew Hannah was gone, he knew she would want him to move on. She wasn't a cruel person, someone who would want him stringed along like a balloon tied to a car.

No, Hannah wasn't that kind of person. Hannah did love him. He did love her, but.. Hannah died. Clay found someone else. Someone more.. alive. Letting a choked son, he finally replied.

"I love you."

"I love you more." Skye replied, hugging him tight. She knew he meant it and now they were both crying like a leaky faucet. Clay gently kissed her, smiling. Skye placed her arms back in his shoulders, and rested her head on him.

Clay looked up, seeing Hannah, who was there for the whole ordeal. She waved him goodbye, and letting her go, Hannah faded away.

A/N: DONE BOOOMM- that last part was a little cheesy we can pretend it doesn't exist. This one was a little difficult to make, mostly because I'm not sure how he would just "ah... over Hannah" yk? Anyways! It was still super fun to make!
