Chapter 1
"To think I would appear here after I died of my old age."
There was nothing more surprising than getting to live another life just after you died and gave up on everything. And to top it all up, it had to be the game I played for every day for the past year.
Skyrim!
Of course, I wasn't nearly knowledgeable about the game as many of the people who played it for years but I have enough knowledge about it to know what will happen in the future.
Still, to wake up inside an inn is something I didn't expect. I feel my body try to move. There is a bit of pain in my arm movement but it is still better than how I felt on my last day.
I look at my hands and feel my face. I definitely got younger and it was by quite a lot too. By the feeling and the look of my skin, I should be in my thirties right now. I take a look around the room and then look inside the chest.
There is nothing.
Not even gold…
To think that I would be so poor in this world. I open the door and go out.
"Ah! You have finally woken up. I thought I would need to remove a dead body from the room based on your look yesterday night. You were so pale, scaring , everyone in the inn when you arrived. We thought you were a ghost." A man approached me and talked.
Looking at the man, I remember his name is Orgnar and he's the one who runs the inn.
I smile and apologize to the man about the yesterday although I have no recollection about it as I only arrived to this world today. He returns a smile and before he can say anything else, a female voice called him.
"The corn stores are getting low again, Orgnar!."
Hearing the familiar dialogue I excuse myself and exit the inn. There is no need to involve myself with Delphine right now and even if I did, I would probably die before I could even do something as I currently have no combat ability.
But just as I was wandering around Riverwood, looking at how much the place is different than in the game, I notice something. There is a text floating on my side as if this was still a game but it was a bit different.

[Please choose a class!]
[Please choose a profession!]
I read everything but all still seemed so strange to me. Before I could even blink, new text appeared before my eyes.
[Please choose one of the three beginner classes: Destruction Mage, Thief, Mage]
I am given an option but all the three are interesting classes. The only problem is that I do not know what how a Mage differs from a Destruction Mage. There is no way for me to know right now but I do feel that from all of these, a Thief is a very good option. Even before I died, I liked to play as a thief and steal from everyone. The sad part was that there was always a 10% chance of you getting caught pickpocketing even if you had the skill maxed out.
But this was now real life and the 90% chance will probably not exist. As long as one will not feel it, pickpocketing should be successful.
[Thief class has been chosen.]
[Acquiring skills…]
[Skills acquired.]
Even more text appeared in front of me.
Pickpocketing Lvl 1/100
Increases the chance of successfully pickpocketing someone. Several factors increase the pickpocketing chance.
Backstab Lvl 1/10
Mp Cost: 60
Increases the damage of backstab. Damage dealt by the backstab is 110% of normal damage.
[Please choose one of the three professions: Blacksmith, Enchanter, Chef]
All three of the professions are quite interesting but there are some things I need to pay attention to. I don't have much Mp at the moment and I feel like I will need to use Mp here unlike in the game which is currently not good for me as my Mp is quite low.
I'm left with Blacksmith or Chef. Both have their advantages but at the end, I decide to choose Chef. Why Chef? It's because I liked to eat good food since I was young and nothing is better at improving a person's mood than a good meal.
Although Blacksmith is also good, I need money for that which I have none right now. On the other hand, food was easier to acquire than ore and ingots. All I had to do was hunt but even that was a problem for me right now.
I had no weapons to hunt with nor armor to protect myself. Only slightly ragged clothes were what protected me from being completely naked. I look around and thought of some ways I could make money here.
I don't even dare to try pickpocketing and think about other options.
I remember that there is someone who is running a lumber mill here. Gertrud I think is her name. But she was not who I am really looking for. It is Hod who I need to meet. I walk to the mill I see in the distance and see someone working on it.
That is definitely Hod. I walk up to him and ask if I can help with chopping firewood. He shakes his head. "It's only 11th of Second Seed and people don't need much firewood right now. If you came at later months I would accept your help but there is not much market for firewood at this time."
Well this is a problem. I turn around and leave the mill just to see some imperial soldiers walking through Riverwood. They are all armed with swords and very serious as they are walking.
One of the residents of Riverwood approaches and asks what happened. I can see everyone around turn to them and listen and I do the same.
"There is news that Ulfric has been caught and will be executed in Helgen today. We have been called to witness the moment and protect the area from any unexpected invaders," the imperial guard answers.
The residents are all surprised.
To think that the start of the main quest is happening today. Thinking of it, I might be able to get some free equipment if I go there. Of course, I will need to not get burned to death by Alduin at the same time.
Without waiting, I take off towards Helgen.
