A Shadow Has Returned - Deleted Scenes

For anybody who has been reading my story 'A Shadow Has Returned', I had mentioned a few times that I would be posting some deleted scenes. The first few are in order in relation to the beginning of the story, the rest is out of order as I just threw them together. IF YOU HAVEN'T READ 'A Shadow Has Returned' THIS MIGHT NOT MAKE MUCH SENSE!

1. Deleted Scenes

I figured I would post some deleted scenes that I had talked about in my story "A Shadow Has Returned" in one big bulk upload.

IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE STORY, THERE ARE SPOILER AHEAD!

None of the chapters have been grammar corrected, and some sentences might not make sense. I will not be fixing the grammar on these chapters as I want to focus on new stories/chapters.

For reference, the first few chapters that actually have titles were supposed to be the journey between Hiccup actually leaving Berk and the challenges he went through while also meeting the other riders.

It also has a few scenes of Berk where Astrid struggles with his leaving, but him not totally being gone as he sent her gifts. It shows a scene when she actually met Stormfly in the cove while training. I also believe it shows when she gave up her shield to Stoick and became engaged to Hiccup, and what followed after. I wanted Astrid's parents to have more of a role in the story, but I couldn't really find a place for them, which is why I only made a few slight references.

The next few scenes were some that I had written down or wrote up way before they actually happened in the story. You might recognize some text or some paragraphs in these deleted scenes as I did pull some info out of them and created whole new chapters.

I also threw in a scene that happened from Hiccup's perspective in the story but was actually what I thought could have happened if it was from Stoick's perspective. Hiccup revealing himself to Stoick instead of just yelling at him.

The last scene is one that was first written out to happen in the cove, where Hiccup revealed himself to Astrid instead of what happened in the story. Both would have worked out well, but I had deleted to go with the one in the story when I thought of it after writing this one.

I guess I could have always used these scenes as more or a "storytelling" situation and made them much smaller if Astrid ever asked Hiccup what he did in the 3 years he was gone. It probably could have been a good start to a sequel.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy some of these deleted scenes! I know if I would have taken the direction that I originally wanted in the story, it probably would have been over 300k words, with 40-50 chapters.
