Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Reaper's Keeper. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Beseria, Bandai and such do.
Clay looked at Velvet, the woman was quite curious at the end of the day, however. He knew for a fact that she had just about as many secrets as he did.
"Your arm is not human, is it?" Clay asked, raising an eyebrow with interest as he shook his head. "I am quite curious how you got it." Clay stated while he started to think about what happened on this journey.
Velvet was interested in how this woman was at the end of the day. Still? If things were like they were before? Then he was going to have to keep fighting her more than once… And Clay did NOT want to deal with another scuffle when it came down to it.
"There's plenty to think about at the end of the day, you know?" Clay stated to which Velvet was quiet a moment.
"You know about me, do you not?" Velvet stated while she cracked her fingers.
"I know you are not really normal at the moment." Velvet added with a hum as he turned towards the sky. "And I think you know I'm not normal either." Velvet stated while he turned to look around.
Both he and Velvet looked around, Clay sensed something, making him put a hand on his scythe while he began to look at Velvet who was busy thinking. He hummed and slowly pulled the weapon from his back as he thought about what was coming for them.
"You do not feel that, correct?" Clay asked, readying his weapon for a fight.
"No, but I can tell something is off either way." Velvet added as she held up her hands, balling them into fists. "Why, what do you sense?" Velvet questioned, her fist clenching and unclenching as she started to look around.
"I don't know, some sort of power…" Clay added, unfurling his scythe as he closed his eyes.
Still? If it was powerful enough to be detected? Then it was far more dangerous than he believed. That kind of power was something that showed up on the scales. Clay was confused and a bit worried by whatever had this type of power that it could threaten the region.
"You were never human to begin with, were you?" Clay heard from Velvet who began to think of what this danger could be. "Well? You do not give me much of an answer at the end of the day, you know." Velvet stated which was greeted by a hum from Clay.
"No, but I'm curious as what you define as normal." Clay stated, resting his scythe on his shoulder. "Considering this threat isn't? Then I'd tell you it's cautious at the second." Clay stated as he cracked his fingers.
He knew something was off, this feeling felt alien, it felt unknown to him at the time…. That scared him, but yet he didn't know what was going on.
"Do you want me to talk about how you almost killed me before?" Clay asked while he flicked his scythe, spinning it around.
Velvet summoned her wrist blade as he turned to look around. Clay hummed, thinking about what came next. He aimed his weapon at her, knowing another fight was currently on the horizon. He didn't want another fight for now. That would cause more issues when it came down to it.
"Do you want another fight now? Would that really help our goals?" Velvet asked as Clay raised an eyebrow towards her.
"You threatened me before, do you not expect me to be weary around you?" Clay asked to which Velvet was forced to sigh.
That was a fair enough point, if Velvet had hurt him? He'd have reason to believe she was dangerous, but to her? They were BOTH dangerous and that made her as weary around him as he was around her.
"How about we get any feelings about this out of the way?" Velvet questioned while Clay nodded.
"That would be better and get any personal feelings about this done and dusted, yes." Clay stated while he cracked a smile and started walking in a certain direction. "Then we can focus on whatever that creature was, make it so we don't have to worry about one or the other ripping each other's throats out." Clay stated and rubbed at his glowing eyes.
Something was growing stronger and he hadn't the time to focus on both. If they fought and got this out of the way? He'd be rather happy so he didn't have to focus on this anymore than usual.
"Are you coming, or would you like me to take your silence to fight me now as a victory?" Clay questioned, watching her close her eyes.
She followed after him which caused Clay to nod, continuing to leapt forward, spinning his scythe around his back then resting it on his shoulder.
This would come to end today.
