Hi! I'll keep updating whatever stories that fit my interest at the moment. This one is on my list to finish. Enjoy!
Chapter Thirteen:
Thompson:
At Cole's suggestion, we decided to be careful about how we gave away clothing items. We quickly cut up Esper's vest so Lewis was covered enough to feel comfortable.
"I haven't worn clothes in years," she said. "I'm comfortable naked."
"It would help with my agent's ability to concentrate," Morris said.
The incline of the mountain turned vertical. It was a steep gray rock of a formation that jutted into the black clouds.
"Now what?" I asked.
Reid's expression turned into a thin smile.
"Even fairytales have power here. Thompson, spit on the ground while thinking of your wedding."
I turned red. "Jane had her period."
"The ritual of marriage is what carry's the weight for this to work."
I thought of the beauty of Jane in her wedding dress and spat upon the ground.
The ground shook and a massive gold structure erupted from where I spat.
"Grab on!" Reid shouted.
Leaves had formed. It was from Jack and the beanstalk. I grabbed a leaf and screamed as we flew upwards.
We arrived in a massive black nest of something bigger than anything we had encountered so far. Blood-red eggs that came up to my waist dotted the nest.
"Hurry!" Morris shouted. "I don't want to be around when the mother comes back."
Cole helped Lewis. I stared at Reid as we walked.
"How'd you know to invoke Jack and beanstalk?"
"I can't explain how. I recognize some of these shapes from my dreams. I think my dad left hints."
A palace of Moroccan design appeared, in shades of angry red with gold trim. The twenty-foot door opened. We formed a tight formation as we entered.
"DIANA!"
Morris hugged Reid tightly. She clung to him.
"It's a trap," he said.
"I know," she whispered.
It took a second for me to realize it was Spencer Reid who had shouted. It had been a while since I had heard a recording of his voice.
The space was massive. Columns of crimson dotted the space along with torches. Several figures were up ahead. They started screaming when they saw us.
"RUN!"
"TRAP!"
"GO!"
It was the other members of the team. They were all naked and covered in blood. The men were tightly chained to the women. Spencer was with J.J. I realized Lewis was left for us as a warning.
A set of monsters leaped emerged from the shadows in front of Spencer's team. Ten-foot monsters with two heads, horns, and fangs like butcher knives stood in front of us.
From behind one monster stepped Dean Crown. His chest was bare except for a gold breastplate, and he wore black silk broadcloth.
"You thought you could win?" his voice boomed. "I have been plotting every move. I invited Bellow to hunt his son. I sent the books. I am behind everything!"
Morris stepped in front of Reid.
"I won't let you hurt her!"
"I was the one who tipped off Avery. I got two of your team members killed to make sure Reid could get a position on the team."
I saw the look of determination on his face crumble. Crown turned to me.
"I've been paying a pharmacist to switch out Jane's fertility pills with drugs that induce menopause."
I let out an anguished sob.
"Irina, I planted those texts to make it look like Nel was cheating on you."
"Stop this!" Reid shouted. "You want me! Leave the others out of this!"
"Esper, I had a friend help me compromise your wife's mission in Somalia. I'm the reason for the scars on her back."
"Leave them alone!" Lewis said. "Stop hurting them."
"Diana, step forward or your team dies," he said. "People die here when they lose hope."
Diana stepped forward. He approached her and undid the chainmail covering her.
"Everything has been leading to this. I'm going to rape you in front of your father and destroy his will to survive. It will have a ripple effect on the world. You are no beacon of hope your father claimed you are, Diana Reid!
His broadcloth dropped to the ground.
"NOOO!" I screamed.
The monsters stepped forward. I threw my hand forward and fire erupted from my fingertips. I turned the monsters to ash that covered me.
Morris suddenly grew in size to ten feet. He grabbed Crown by the throat.
"You don't get to hurt her!"
Crown's face contorted and turned red. He clawed at his and blood poured out.
White wings sprouted out of Cole's back and shielded us. She pulled a sword of fire out of thin air.
"We are the BAU!" she screamed.
She lopped Crown's head off with her sword. Morris's grip broke. Heads grew out, the body grew to fit. People I recognized from old cases: Hankel, Doyle, Foyette, Adams, and Scratch burst forward. Their eyes were red with rage.
The being broke free from his grip. He blew fire at Morris. Morris was reduced to a skeleton as he fell to the ground.
Diana fell to her knees as she cried.
"I'm sorry, I roped you all into this!"
"We never should have asked this of you!" Spencer shouted.
I stepped forward and rubbed her shoulder. I couldn't help but read the tattoo on her back.
"Love is our true destiny. We do not find the meaning of life by ourselves alone - we find it with another."
"This isn't over," I said. I kneeled and hugged her from behind.
Cole hugged her side and Esper took another. Lewis came in front.
"Wheels Up," Diana whispered.
It was the BAU anthem. Every one of us said it, including the agents in captivity.
A column of blinding white clouds emerged from Diana. Shapes emerged from it. They looked like the monsters from Diana's travels across the world. The heads on Crown's body separated to fight the monsters.
Everything started shaking violently. The cloud monsters were destroying the serial killers as the columns crashed.
"What do we do!?" Cole shouted.
The team broke from its restraints and fell to the ground. They crawled to us. We all stood up and ran to them. Diana hugged her father.
"Think of the BAU," Hotch said as he reached for me. "Try to imagine us back there."
"They ripped it apart," I said.
"The wall of photos!" Cole said.
"Go there mentally," Prentiss said.
Rocks were flying everywhere.
"What about Morris?" I asked.
"Let's get home first," Diana said.
We held on to each other. We thought of the place where we honored the fallen. We closed our eyes and willed our existence to go there.
There was a flash of lighting and everything turned white.
