Kat listened to what the blonde had just told her and was floored. She looked over at Alex who nodded. Kat had also learned that Alex had not fought a member of The Righteous last year, that had been a lie that he had told. Still that wasn't the most mind blowing thing she had heard. What this girl, Melody was her name, had been through was horrifying. Kat couldn't even imagine going through those horrors. This was Dexter's sister that had been tortured and made to do things that no human should be forced to do. Melody had explained that her Pokémon had been divided amongst the Righteous generals and upper members of the group. This included her Gengar that Marcia now controlled. The poor Pokémon had been manipulated and tortured until he forgot who he was. All Kat could do was go over to the blonde and give her a hug. Melody didn't mind this, the black haired girl that was giving her a hug was very attractive and Melody likes girls so she didn't mind snuggling against the attractive female. Alex gulped as he went in to interrupt the hug. "Uh Kat, there is something else. Something that involves the Institute itself and what goes on there.", Kat broke away from Melody for a second to look at her best friend.
"What now?", she said. Her voice was pained. She didn't know how many more of the revelations she could take. Everything was just so much. First, there was the fact that she now had a legendary Pokémon's pokeball in her backbelt and now this from Melody. Kat was getting a head ache and now Alex had something else to discuss with her. "Is it how much you love me and want to hook up? I could use the stress relief.", Kat chuckled trying to alleviate the tension in the air. Melody frowned, 'so she's straight damn.' Alex just rolled his eyes at Kat's joke. This was no time to joke which was saying something since Alex usually had a few inappropriate jokes. But no, he had to tell her about what he thought when it came to the leader of The Righteous especially since they were going to be headed back to The Institute. Kat had to know and that way they could warn the others. He had tried to contact JJ when he finally got reception, but she hadn't answered. So he hoped that Kat could help him contact the likes of Ava. But right now Kat had to know the truth, at least what Alex thought was the truth. "Kat, the leader of The Righteous has a Corviknight named Wrath. A Corviknight with red eyes. Guess who else has that type of Pokémon.", Alex waited until Kat fully grasped what he was saying. Her eyes widened at what exactly he was saying.
"Are you saying that Dr. Babic is responsible for The Righteous? Alex, that doesn't make sense. Why would he do that? Why would he destroy the place he loves? The place that his father gave him. Alex, you are absolutely crazy. I think you must have been hit on the head or something.", Kat just shook her head emphatically. Alex had done and said some stupid shit before, but this took the cake. She didn't believe it, she couldn't believe it. Dr. Babic was crazy, there was no doubt about that, but this was taking it too far. Alex knew that he sounded crazy and weird, but he was utterly convinced. Now he had to convince the one person he trusted above anyone else that he was right. "Kat, think about it. Who else has a Pokémon like that. And the fact that no one has ever seen his face? He wants to unlock all the legendary Pokémon. So of course he couldn't do that as President if The Institute, that would just confirm what everyone has said about that place. So he had to use The Righteous to get what he wanted. I'm sure Dr. Walkmen had told you some of the things he's done.", Kat nodded. She did remember what Davis had said about Dr. Babic. Still there was something that Kat couldn't wrap her mind around, "but why? Why would he allow the Righteous to go so far?", Alex didn't know the answer to that, but someone did.
"Because he's been manipulating everyone. He wanted The Righteous to fight The Institute. And Vice Versa, no one would know what he was doing because we were all distracted by fighting one another, no one would know what he was up to.", Melody piped up. Kat and Alex both looked at one another. What the female said was true. She would know better than anyone as she had been one of the top generals in the Righteous. She would know the motivation of the leader better than anyone. "The question now is what we will do about it. I have to get to Dexter and tell him all about this. He will know what to do. Do any of you know how I can reach Dex? I have to reach him. He's always been suspicious of Dr. Babic which was why he never wanted to go to the Institute. He will know what to do here.", Melody looked at both Kat and Alex in the hopes that they would know where her brother was. Alex and Kat short each other a look. They knew Dexter was underground somewhere, he was hiding out to find out about The Righteous. None of them knew for sure where he was, but they knew someone that did. "We have a mutual friend. She's at The Institute and knows where your brother could be.", Kat said. Melody's eyes glistened with joy at the news.
She grabbed Kat's hands, "please bring me to your friend. That way they could tell me where Dexter is." Melody was so close to seeing the brother she had thought she had lost. The blonde had given these two the information they needed and now she needed a favor from them. She needed a way to try and get to their friend to find Dexter. Melody would do whatever it took to make their reunion a reality. Alex looked a bit apprehensive about Melody coming with them. It wasn't that he didn't trust her, he did as she had been honest with them, but the problem was that how would they sneak Melody into the Institute. Especially since Dr. Babic probably had seen Melody without a mask before. Bringing her to The Institute could be a mistake. "Melody, I don't think that bringing you to our friend would be a good idea. I know you want to see your brother, but if the professors or Dr. Babic ever found out that you were a part of The Righteous then we are all screwed. It would be very dangerous to bring you there.", Melody was crushed. She hung her head as tears began to well up in her eyes again. "Please, if I stay here or go on the run they'll kill me. I need to find Dexter. You guys are the closest thing I have to a lead to find him. Please I need hour help.", her lower lip quivered.
Kat looked at Alex. They couldn't just leave this poor thing out to defend herself or on the run. Melody was now a mess again, she had spent years hiding her emotions and attachments, but now couldn't help let them out. She sobbed against Kat who had given the girl a hug. "Please, now that I am not a Righteous member anymore they will kill me. They've probably already called in reinforcements. I am a marked target, they're going to send the best after me. I'm strong, but they will do underhanded tactics and track me down. Without Dexter, I am a dead person.", now Alex felt even more like a dick. He couldn't let the female die, but he also felt like bringing her to The Institute would be a death sentence in its self. This was a poison pill choice they would have to make. Kat patted Melody on the back, she did not have the concerns that Alex had. "Listen I have a plan, but it requires you to do some drastic measures. I hope you are not attached to your hair or anything like that.", Melody shook her head. She was not attached to her hair or anything of the sort. She was not really into makeup or anything like that. Kat grinned. "Good, then you can come with me.", Kat grabbed Melody and took off.
Alex just sat with the Glasolemos and pet her. "I don't know what to do girl. I know that we should help Melody, but all of this seems to be a risk. A risk that I am not willing to take. People could get hurt really bad if I am right and Dr. Babic is the head of The Righteous too. There's a war coming, Glasolemos.", he scratched behind her left ear which she seemed to like. The pseudo legendary looked up at her trainer with a loving expression. "Glaaasssss", Alex nodded as he interpreted that to mean that the Glasolemos wanted him to stop worrying and just protect the former Righteous member. Alex let out a sigh as he continued to scratch the Pokémon's ear. He tried to take a look at what Kat and Melody were doing. There were some giggles coming from the water where Kat had taken the blonde. "You two hooking up or you two actually trying to disguise Melody?", both of them would tell Alex to fuck off and to mind his own business. He shrugged as did the Glasolemos as she had no idea what was going on. "I was actually thinking of a name for you. I was thinking Venus as in mythological terms Venus is a powerful female being, just like you.", the Glasolemos jumped up and down in excitement. This brought a smile to Alex's face.
Alex felt a tap on his shoulder and he figured it was Kat or Melody. Alex turned around and saw that it was indeed Kat, but the girl next to her was not the Melody that had just been crying her eyes out over her brother. Instead Melody's blonde hair had been cut, well carved with a knife was a better term, to make it look short. Kat must have had brought dye in her bag because Melody's hair was dyed black like Kat's. Some of the wet dye was still dripping from the former blonde's wet hair. Kat had also given Melody an extra set of glasses, Melody usually wore some when she didn't have to wear that stupid mask. The girl did look different, of course they couldn't change her face, but this would have to do for now. Alex was really quite impressed by what Kat had done especially since she didn't wear make up herself. Kat blinked at Alex and snarled, "stop undressing my little sister with your eyes." Alex stared at Kat and titled his head. Perhaps he was going crazy after all cause he could have sworn that Kat had just called Melody her sister. This was weird. Kat sighed as Melody laughed a bit, "see I told you that he wouldn't understand. Guys are stupid." Melody continued to chuckle as Kat looked at Alex. "Alex, we are going to pretend that Melody is my sister Erika when we go back to the Institute. No one will be any of the wiser as all the people who knew I don't have a sister are in our group and wouldn't tell anyone.", it was a good plan until Kat could figure out the next steps to help Melody reach her brother.
After a few minutes of silence, Alex looked at his Pokédex. It was night which meant it was the perfect time to get a move on out of the cave. "Listen, I know that it's late, but it's the perfect time to get a move on. If we move at night, I don't think the Righteous will be able to find us by the time we get to the airport.", of course he knew that he hadn't asked Kat about what she found inside the other part of the cave. But he was not completely sure that Melody should hear that discussion. Melody had been pacing around the cave though as Kat and Alex had started to pack their supplies. The black haired, former blonde, female seemed to be very nervous than even before. "Guys, I have to tell you something.", her voice shook with her nerves which cause Alex and Kat to both look at one another. "They're going to send the elite grunts after me. These are the ones that tortured me. These are the guys that have been going around and killing people and Pokémon. They are vicious and destructive. Their leader is a man name Dries Matuidi. Dries is everything that is wrong with the group-"
"Well Melody, I don't know if I should take this as a compliment.", all three of the group stared as dressed in a white and gold uniform that looked like a military uniform was a bal headed man standing just a little bit outside of the cave. He was about 5'8 and portly, but there was a quiet viciousness to him. Especially since Melody was shaking at the sound of his booming voice. Behind him were 4 other grunts that wore a white and gold uniform. Unlike the other grunts, these did not wear masks. Their faces were exposed so their sick smiles could be seen clearly. Dries looked at the other two trainers, "as Melody was saying, I am commander Dries Matuidi of the elite Righteous grunt unit. Sadly this will be your last time that we meet.", the leader of the elite unit pulled out a pokeball as did the grunts behind him. This was going to be a mini war as Melody, Kat, and Alex all headed out of the cave to confront the Righteous.
Dries sent out a Victreebel, the poison and plant Pokémon did not look too intimidating, but it was clear that Melody was concerned about the Pokémon and trainer. There was also a crabrawler, Hariyama, Nidoking, and Nidoqueen. "I'll allow you to select which Pokémon to showcase for us. Afterall they will be ours soon.", the head of this elite task force said. His sycophantic followers behind him all smirked. Alex was so sick of the looks on their faces as was Venus, in fact Alex felt like he could feel the anger that was circulating throughout Venus. His head started to hurt as he snarled at the grunts. "Fine, you want to play then let us play, but let's even up the battle shall we?", Alex pulled out Poe's pokeball and tossed it in the water. The powerful Dragalge popped his head out and narrowed his eyes. Poe knew when a battle was to happen and the Dragalge knew that he was going to be in for a fight. Alex knew that the poison and dragon type would be perfect to do some damage. Poe stared at the crabrawler with a look of pure hatred for the opponent. Venus meanwhile moved in front of the Hariyama and growled. Her eyes flashed blue as did Alex's.
"Damn I wish I had key stone. I have a mega stone, but I need a key stone", Kat whispered as Melody stared at her. The former Righteous member began digging in her her bag. She smiled and pulled something out and handed it to Kat. Kat's eyes widened when she saw what Melody had just given her: a key stone. Kat looked over at the disguised Melody who winked, "I had a few spares with me. The perks about being a General in The Righteous was that whenever the grunts found something important you could take it as your own. So I took a few extra key stones to help with mega evolution." Kat was grateful to the younger girl. She had her doubts about Melody earlier, who wouldn't about someone who was a former terrorist, but she could see that Dexter's sister was who she said she was. That she wasn't like the others in that organization. Kat pulled out the Sweollowette that she had discovered earlier as it began to glow blue and red. Kat could feel that Gale's pokeball start to shake on her belt and smiled. "Well then let us test this thing out, right Gale?", the twenty year old grabbed her Swellow's pokeball and tossed it out as a bright light emerged. Gale was covered in the light as her body transformed to her mega form. Gale's feet and chest were deep dark red. There were streaks of red and blue throughout Gale's body. The small Swellow had transformed into a large beast. Her wings were outstretched to show the red that now covered them. There was a wild look in Gale's eyes having just mega evolved for the first time.
Kat gulped, she could FEEL the amount of power that Gale had now. Kat was really worried that she wouldn't be able to control the Swellow now. Kat was a great trainer, but controlling a mega evolved Pokémon was a beast of a different nature. Kat was in awe of what Gale had become and how powerful she was. Kat considered herself to be extremely confident, but now she began to shake from her concerns. All of this was so much for her to take. Suddenly she felt a hand on her left shoulder, it was Melody who pat Kat. "I have a mega too, I know they are very hard to control. I'll talk you through it.", it had been so long since Melody had ever done a kindness. And of course she knew that Kat had been kind to her. If Melody could help Kat control the mega then this would also help take out the Righteous elite grunts. Of course Dries Matuidi let out one of his pathetic smiles that Melody knew and hated. "Oh Melody, new look, new attitude, my my how soft you've gotten. Once they called us since you broke away, I wondered what changed from that killer that you still are. You can change your looks and pretend that you aren't. We know the truth and that is you're still a part of us even if you pretend otherwise.", this put a fire in both Kat and Melody even Alex was irritated by those comments. Melody wasn't like them at all.
Melody could feel the rage and hate building up. She hated the man in front of her. The man that had abused her in ways no one should be harmed. She wanted to kill him and the others that were apart of his unit. It also didn't help that one of Melody's former Pokémon were staring at her. The Victreebell had been Melody's when she was starting out. She bonded with the creature, but now it stared at Melody with pure hatred in its eyes. Melody wanted to get it back and make it realize that The Righteous was manipulating it just as they had manipulated her. Melody pulled out her lone pokeball as she just stared at Dries and the stolen Victreebel as she fiddled with her pokeball. "Well, Dries, lets see just how elite you are with a stolen Pokémon. Twilight, go." Melody fling her pokeball out as what emerged shocked Kat and Alex. "Darkrai.", the dark type said as its evil eyes stared at Dries and the Victreebel. "HOLY SHIT YOU HAVE A DARKRAI!", Kat and Alex said at the same time. Melody just nodded. She did have a Darkrai and it was going to help her get her Pokémon back.
"Crabrawler use toxic on the Dragalge!", the fighting crab Pokémon nodded as he spewed poison at Poe. Poe just absorbed the poison and seemed to smirk. Alex let out a big laugh that got the black hair grunt across on his right to scowl. "Oh no you used a poison type move on my poison Pokémon. Oh whatever shall I do? Oh I know, Poe use dragon tail.", the Dragalge jumped up out of the water and swung his tail right into the crab fighting type. But that was not why Alex was smiling. The tail spikes that Poe had embedded themselves into the Crabrawler's face. "Crab!", the crabrawler cried as Alex laughed. "Awwww look at that the elite grunts Pokémon has been poisoned by a poison type. Really this is the best you idiots can do?", there was a new viciousness and arrogance in Alex. He didn't care, he was going to humiliate the Righteous in Pokémon fighting and verbally. The grunt gnashed his teeth, "shut the fuck up. You, shitty Crabrawler, use crab hammer and you better hit.", the crabrawler charged at Poe which played right into Alex's plans. This grunt wasn't thinking correctly and wasn't thinking. That left him open. "Poe, dive then use dragon tail again.", the Dragalge dived under water as the crabrawler swung widely as it missed. Poe popped back up out of the water and hit the Crabrawler with another dragon tail attack. More poison spikes drove into the poor Pokémon's face. Poe seemed to be having his way with the crab fighting type.
Alex looked over at how Venus was doing. He could sense that the pseudo legendary was having fun, which was a weird feeling. Alex knew he didn't have battlebond especially with a new Pokémon he just caught. But he could still feel what Venus was feeling. It was as if HE was battling the Hariyama. Plus he had this terrible headache that just wasn't going away. And there were times where Alex could see through Venus' eyes. Alex didn't know what was going on, but he didn't like it. Still Venus was just using her speed to out smart the Hariyama. Alex had to admit that he wished he had caught a Hariyama especially since this grunt didn't know how to use it at all. "You trash Pokémon. Try toxic!", Hariyama winced at the words and tried to spew out some poison sludge, but Venus easily avoided this. Alex titled his head and laughed, "hey Hariyama, if you want a real trainer you can come join my team." The sumo fighting type seemed to consider the offer before timidly looking back at the elite grunt member that controlled it. The Pokémon looked very afraid to fail. The poor Pokémon was shaking as it fought. That was not how people should treat their moms. It made Alex mad and by extension made Venus mad too. The Glasolemos tail started to glow a dark green as she charged not at the Hariyama, but at the blonde female grunt that was bullying the Hariyama. Venus started to slash at the grunt. "What the fuck, control your psycho Pokémon.", the grunt was then had her blonde locks cut which caused her to run away and dropped the Hariyama's pokeball. Alex smiled as he had easily dispatched the 'elite' grunt.
Despite Alex's success, he appeared to be the only one that was having it. Kat was having trouble controlling Gale because of mega evolution. Gale had been hit by two ice beams and was reacting wildly. She wasn't focusing as her attacks would miss and she would get double teamed by the Nido siblings. Kat was completely confused. She really didn't know what to do. She had been calling and calling for Gale to listen to her to no avail. Gale was wild and crazy and it broke Kat. She would wince whenever she would see her Pokémon get injured time and time again. Kat really didn't know what she was supposed to do at this point. She felt like she had failed as a trainer. That perhaps mega evolution was not what it was cracked up to be. Maybe she wasn't the trainer that she thought she was. Sure Kat had been one of the best trainers at the Institute, but right now she felt useless and like an idiot. She was being outclassed by some generic grunts. She hadn't felt this way since Kuroku had destroyed her in the final. Now she felt like shit. That was until someone nudged her in her side, she looked and saw a cross looking Alex beside her. "So what, the great Catherine Kiner is just going to give up? Act all defeatist because Gale isn't listening to her? What happened to you Kat? You look pathetic.", Kat hung her head as Alex's words hurt. He didn't understand because he didn't have a mega, but right now she felt useless. "This isn't the woman I am in love with. She would fight and try to reach Gale instead of just giving up.", Kat blinked as her eyes widened, did Alex just admit that he WAS in love with her? And he had admitted it. Kat blinked again as Alex nodded, of course he was hoping that this would snap her out of her funk.
"Kat, listen, a mega in the state like yours only really listens to strong trainers. Trainers that it truly loves. You need to show some strength and get Gale to listen to you.", Melody called. She was giving her new friend some advice that Kat needed to hear. Kat shook her head as she could feel the power in the mega stone. It was growing hot which Kat assumes was because Gale was so filled with rage and confusion. Kat Kiner took a deep breath as she silenced her fists, "Gale! Gale! I know that you can hear me. I need you to look at me now!", the mega Swellow was in bad shape as bruises had covered her body, Kat hadn't seen her Pokémon like this before. Kat felt horrible about the state her Pokémon was in, but Kat shook those feelings off as she knew she had to stand firm in order to control her Mega. Gale's red and blue eyes stared at Kat for the first time in the battle. "Gale, you know that we don't fight like this. We fight smart. I'm sorry that I was too weak to be able to control you. I was too nervous and I let you down. You've always been super strong even before your mega evolution. Come on girl, we need to work together to be able to stop these idiots. Come on let's get back to how we were.", Kat's eyes burned with excitement and hope that her mega Swellow would start to listen to her again. Gale smiles and nodded, "Swell!" This brought a smile smile to the trainer's face.
Kat looked at the elite grunts who were whispering something to one another. Kat didn't care, "Gale, use brave bird on the Nidoqueen. Your guts ability should kick in as well." Yes, guts was a great move for the Swellow and would help in the attack. The Nidoqueen and Nidoking would try to fire off some ice beams at Gale, but the mega evolution was moving at super speed which caused her to avoid the ice attacks. Gale became covered in red energy as she had her sights set on the Nidoqueen. "Swellow!", Gale cried as she made impact with the Nidoqueen. There was a cloud of dust where the Nidoqueen was implanted in the ground. Gale took back into the air as the elite grunts rolled their eyes. One of them, a silver haired male, slammed the Nidoqueen's pokeball to the ground as it broke. "You're so useless! I knew I should have gotten a new mon you always let me down.", Kat just shook her head and looked at those two with disgust. "That's not how you raise a Pokémon. That's why you idiots will be nothing more than terrorists. Just morons that never get any better. You should really treat those mons better. In fact you will never understand what it's like to raise a Pokémon because you steal them all.", what Kat did not notice was that in her spiel was that several large rocks and stones was coming straight towards her from the Nidoking. When she turned to see the stones coming, someone had just jumped in front of her...
Melody was in bad shape and that was what Dries Matuidi wanted. The sixteen year old was huffing and puffing. Her body was covered in cuts and bruises. Twilight meanwhile didn't have a single scratch on it. That wasn't part of Dries' strategy, no he preferred to use attacks like razor leaf and vine whip on the opposing trainer. He liked to make them suffer and feel pain. This was what Melody had to endure when she was first sold into the Righteous. Dries had forced her Pokémon to attack Melody until they mentally broke. So now Melody was used to the pain she was suffering. In fact she hadn't wanted to fight the Pokémon at all. She was still trying to break through to the Victreebel. Melody didn't want Twilight to hurt the Pokémon. It was just there to provide cover to Alex and Kat just in case. No, this was between Melody and the Pokémon that she once had. Dries watched on as he saw Melody struggling to stand. His portly physique seemed to shake with joy as he tortured the little girl again. "Ah you are so weak, Melody. You never were like this before, but you've grown weaker. Pathetic. Aren't you going to fight me? Come now I thought you were going to battle me. I was looking forward to adding a mythical to my collection. The boss would have been proud. I've already taken your precious Victreebel and I would want one more.", Melody didn't pay attention to Dries taunts. Rather she was just focused on the plant Pokémon.
"Victreebel, please look at me. I'm sorry...", Melody's voice was weak. Not because she was in pain, but because she wanted the plant Pokémon to understand. It wasn't her choice to give him up. She still loved him and the Pokémon that she had been forced to give up. She didn't want them to be used at tools to hurt her. That was why she gave them up and accepted The Righteous. He still refused to look at Melody, afterall Melody had willingly given him up to this monster. Now Victreebel didn't care what happened to her as she didn't care about him. He just stared at the Darkrai that floated above him and waited for an attack. Dries paused his laughter to analyze what he was looking at. The sick bastard's eyes lit up when he realized what was going on. He looked at Melody then the Victreebel, his laughter would echo throughout the makeshift battlefield. "Oh this is precious. Little Melody Monet thinks she can break through to her old Pokémon. Sweetheart, didn't you realize that it hates you? That you ruined the relationship with him. He doesn't want to be associated with you. You're too weak and too selfish. You gave him to me. Don't you remember. Well he remembers and he has a little present for you. Victreebel, power whip.", Melody's former Pokémon nodded as a huge green whip shot out at Melody and struck her in the stomach. The sound of ribs breaking could be heard. Melody crumbled to the ground as she cried out in pain.
Twilight had seen enough. It was about to go down and help Melody, but Melody held out a hand. "NO! It's not his fault, Twiligt! Stay back!", she wheezed and coughed. Her body shook with pain from her broken ribs. This brought out more laughter from the head of the elite grunts. "Don't you get it Melody. He hates you now. The little bellsprout you raised is dead and gone. Replaced with this beautiful creature. It does what I tell him. He hates you because you gave him up.", Dries had for so long wanted to tell Melody this. She was pathetic and now she didn't even have her mask. He could fully enjoy the looks of pain she gave. She could change her appearance, but it didn't change the weakling she was. Melody took a deep breath and she tried to get to her feet. Her blue eyes were covered in tears, not from the physical pain, but because she missed her Pokémon. "Victreebel, I am so sorry that I wasn't strong enough to protect you. I should have died than give you up. I regret it. I regret giving those sick fucks you, gengar, and the others. I'm so sorry. I wish I had died rather than give you up. Every single day I have done nothing, but thought about you. That's why I broke away, not only to find my brother, but to get you back. I knew that Dries would show up once I attacked the grunts. That is why I did it because he would bring you. I wanted to see you one last time to tell you that I love you. I always have and I don't blame you for anything. I blame myself.", Melody's words seemed to hit home as tears started to for, I'm the Victreebel's eyes. Melody started to get to her feet again.
Dries gave a faux round of applause, "touching. Very touching, but I believe it's time I end this. Victreebel, another power whip should do it." He got a sick grin as the large green whip formed again. Melody fully knew she would die with another power whip. She closed her eyes, "sorry Dex, I am sorry I never got to see you again." She held her breath except the attack never came. Instead the Poison-grass type had fired the power whip into the side of Dries' head which knocked the head of the elite grunts out cold. Melody looked at the Pokémon that stood before her as tears were in both their eyes. "Victree", it called as it hopped over to his trainer. They were finally reunited as Melody hugged the Pokémon. "ALEX!", he had jumped in front of the earth power attack and taken a good chunk of it which had sent him skidding in the ground. Gale had watched this as had Poe and Venus. Alex's Pokémon stared at the elite grunt and the Nidoking. They were going to take care of the Nidoking and grunt that had hurt their beloved trainer. Meanwhile Kat ran over to Alex. It was worse than she thought. He was all cut up and bruised as Kat could see that his breathing was really really shallow. Kat could hear that he was wheezing a sign that his lungs had been affected as well. He had sacrificed himself for her. Kat knelt down as tears filled her eyes, "you idiot. You stupid fucking idiot. Why did you do that? Why would you jump in front of those rocks. Alex, come on I got to get you to the hospital." Kat knew that even if she was to get him to the hospital that there was little they could do. Her body shook as she cried over him. Alex's eyes opened up a little and he coughed. He looked over at Kat and moved his hand up to her face to wipe her tears away. "Kat...I told you that I love you. I'm sorry that it took so long to realize it. I...just hope you find someone better than me...Take Poe and Venus...you're the best...", Alex winced at the words as Kat continued to weep.
Then the pokeball that she had been hiding began to crack open.
