"I don't know who your sister is.", the manipulative Righteous member said. She gave a shrug and a smirk. She was not going to play his game. Why should she? He was going to try and find out more about the freak that was Melody Monet. Of course Marcia knew all about that creepy bitch and her mask. Yet she was not going to tell him about this. No, Marcia wanted to watch him struggle to get his mind on the fact that he still didn't know where his sister was. "If she is missing then maybe you should call the police? They would be able to help you. I was just an innocent trainer when I was attacked by that crazy tall lady. You know all you guys could go to jail. For assaulting me, for kidnapping, and abuse. Tsk, tsk not what I expected from my former hero.", Marcia thought she had him. The goody tissues in him would make the mistake of thinking Marcia would actually go to the police with this. He wouldn't want to stain his perfect little record and reputation. Marcia had him by the balls and knew it. Now she just had to sit back and allow him to fall into her trap.
Except he didn't. Dexter shrugged, "we all have to do what we have to do. But here's the thing: I paid off all the cops here. Especially since I just got rid of a Pokémon that's been bugging them. So you can try, but they won't listen to you." Dexter was bullshitting, but he was willing to bet that Marcia wasn't smart enough to realize this. Dexter continued to play around with the Gengar's pokeball. He had an idea that he was going to do if Marcia wasn't going to cooperate. Dexter unlocked the pokeball freeing the Gengar. The Pokémon looked around and tilted his head, "gen?" He didn't know where he was as he didn't know what this room was. The Gengar didn't look at Marcia as he knew she would be beyond upset about him losing. She would usually use her other Pokémon to batter the Gengar when he lost. He hated this woman so much, but as long as he was controlled by her he had to suck it up. The Gengar looked around and saw a sight he did not think he would ever see again. He blinked as he thought he saw the man who had originally given him to Melody. The Gengar floated over to Dexter as its eyes widened at the realization that this was his former trainer's brother. "Gengar!", the creature cried as it smiled its menacing smile. Dexter returned it with a smile of his own. Marcia did not understand what was going on, but she didn't like it.
Dexter started to pet the Gengar as he turned to the confused Marcia. She clearly had not expected this, but this was why the 21 year old Dexter was so smart. He was always a leg up on someone be it a challenger to his champion title or when he was trying to track down his sister. "Allow me to explain: this Gengar here is my sister's. I am the one that gave him to her. So I highly doubt that you don't know her. Isn't that right, Gengar?", the ghost and poison Pokémon side eyed Marcia. The vicious trainer from The Righteous was giving him a death stare. He knew that if he told Dexter about Melody that Marcia would kill him. Plus Gengar really didn't want to tell Dexter about what he had done to Melody. He could still hear her screams from the multiple dream eater attacks he had put her through. He had promised Dexter that he would protect the girl when Dexter had given him to Melody. Dexter, however, grabbed the pokemon's head and turned the Gengar to face him. "Dont worry Gengar, I am not mad at you. Neither is Melody. You were corrupted by those idiots. Please all I want to know about is where she is. I am going to reunite you with Melody so please just tell me where she is and what happened to her.", there were tears in Dexter's eyes as the Gengar nodded.
"Gennnnn Gar Geeeen. Gengar, Gengar, Gar.", the Gengar told Dexter about how he would routinely put Melody to sleep then use dream eater even when she was begged for it to stop. The Gengar would tell how Marcia and another member of The Righteous had order the Gengar to do it day after day. She had finally submitted to them when she was 15 as her body couldn't have taken the beaten anymore. "Gennnnn", he apologized to Dexter as he felt that he let the great man down. Gengar states that Melody wore her mask so that way she couldn't be attacked by Gengar anymore. He knew that Melody had been sent on a mission, but he was not sure exactly where. "Gar gen.", the Gengar said that they were searching for the legendary Pokémon as Dexter had already known. Dexter would hug the Gengar as a thank you. "Buddy, I am so sorry that you had to go through that. I'll get you back to where you belong. I'll make sure you are safe. She's not going to hurt you or Melody anymore. I'm going to find Melody and make sure that you two reunite.", the Gengar seemed to actually be happy by this news. Dexter then looked over at Marcia who seemed quite pissed off at this new development.
She dropped all pretenses from her face. The wicked red head just let out a loud chuckle. "Ah yes, Melody Monet. The dumb idiot that I tortured along with Dries. She cried and cried for you. It was pathetic. I had fun using the Gengar on her. In fact I heard some of her crying and whimpering. Dex, don't leave me they can't protect me. Dex, where are you? It was pathetic the way she acted. Then one day she finally broke. Became a robot that we could control.", Marcia had hoped that her probing of Dexter would elicit a response from the former champion. That he would finally give something to the Righteous member some sort of pain or something. That way she could utterly feed off of it. She got off on the pain of others and she knew that Dexter wanted to take out his pain on her, but he had not. In fact there was no sign of any pain or anything that she could feed off of. She was annoyed that things weren't going her way as she scowled. "I know you want to kill me, Dexter. Why don't you do it? I am not going to tell you anything about where your pathetic sister is. In fact I hope that she ends up dead while on her mission. She was just a freak just like your entire family were. Druggies and gamblers, the scum of society. That's what your family was, Dexter. You can hide behind the fact that you were a champion, but you'll be nothing, but from the bottom of the barrel of Avantura. Just like your sister, you'll never find her. You won't find out where she is from me.", of course Marcia knew that Melody was in the dark forest. That she was going to find the clues to the legendary mons in those woods.
To Marcia's surprise Dexter just laughed. He had a wide smile on his face, "don't worry, Marcia. You already told me that she is in the Dark Forest. Looking for the clues to the legendary Pokémon of Avantura so thank you for this information. A few of my friends are already over there and I do hope they did find my sister. Isn't that right, Ironhide?" The red haired female was utterly baffled as she didn't understand what was going on. She followed Dexter's line of sight as he was looking at what appeared to be scraps of metal in the corner of the room then the scrap of metal opened its eyes. The creature began to shift as its four legs were placed along its head as it floated over towards Dexter and Marcia. The red head's eyes were nearly popping out of her head now as she came to the realization of what had been going on. Dexter continued to smirk as he saw that Marcia had c9me to the realization that she had been played this whole time as he put a hand on the creature as it landed on the ground. "Yes, my beloved Metagross Ironhide, has been reading your mind this whole time. And he has been telling me telepathically everything you have been saying. Not bad for a guy from the slums now is it? But now you have served tour purpose, Marcia. Ironhide will take care of you from now on. Consider it payback for all you did to my sister and to Jessica Walkmen.", Ironhide's eyes began to glow red as Marcia screamed and held her head.
Dexter walked out of the room to Marcia's screams. Luckily that room was soundproof so no one could hear the screams. "That's for you Melody. I'm one step closer to finding you.", Dexter had said to himself. Dexter would enter the main living room and didn't see anyone there. This confused him and a panicky feeling started to creep over him. Perhaps JJ had taken a turn for the worst or maybe a blood clot had emerged which would concern Dexter. He rushed over to the makeshift hospital room that he and Guzma had installed in this hideaway. Dexter heard a noise, but it wasn't crying it appeared to be laughter. All the students had crammed into the room and JJ was sitting up. Dexter was glad that she was doing better as she had some color back in her. While she still had to wear a oxygen mask, Dexter could see that she was smiling. It was a big and beautiful smile that made the girl seem even more beautiful than before. Her brown eyes saw Dexter and she motioned for him to come in and hear what was going on. Guzma was telling a story that Dexter had heard many times before, "so then My Golisopod tossed his pikachu around like a stuffed animal. Ash and his friends cried and cried, but ya boi knew this was a trap. So I had him continue to pound on the pikachu until it quit. The end."
Everyone looked awkward as Guzma was the only one who laughed. Dexter sighed which caused everyone to look at him. He smiled at all of them then looked at his watch, "shouldn't you all be packing? The flight is going to take 3 hours and the flight out is a bitch if you miss it. Why is no one ready?" Everyone except for Guzma and Nikki shifted uncontrollably. There was a reason that no one had packed or was even considering packing. Everyone had talked to Nikki and JJ and they agreed with their decision about the Institute. Of course they had all told Guzma their decision which he agreed with, but he had said that they needed to get Dexter's permission first. That was who they were waiting for as they listened to Guzma's stories. They all were not going back to the school. Of course this was a risk as their parents wouldn't be happy, but they really didn't care. They wanted to get stronger and train with the best. Nikki stepped up to Dexter, "Dex, none of us are going back. It was JJ's idea and we all agree with it. With the way the Righteous are attacking we need to protect ourselves. The only way we can do that is train. And The Institute won't do that, but you guys will. Please we need you to train us.", Dexter's mind was blown.
Here were a bunch of students asking him and Guzma to help train them. To essentially teach them his ways. It wasn't that bad of an idea especially given the Pokémon he know knew JJ and Nikki had, but still how could he ensure their safety? If anything happened to any of them then Dexter would feel awful. Still he could see the looks on their faces and knew that this was what they wanted. Nikki especially seemed to be the most eager to do the training. She reminded Dexter so much of Melody when she was younger. Dexter couldn't resist those hazel eyes of hers as he sighed, "ok, but this isn't going to the like The Institute. It's going to be difficult and rough. I mean it's going to test you in ways that none of you ever imagined. It's going to break some of you, but you have to do it if you really want to. Do any of you want to back out right now then do it." No one moved. They all wanted to participate in the training. They had to if they wanted to protect themselves from what was going on. Dexter looked over at Guzma who nodded in agreement, they would do it. "Fine, take a rest now. Tomorrow we begin training.", everyone flooded out of the room except for JJ and Dexter.JJ began to write on her board as she passed it over to Dexter, "Alex-Ava-Kat-Bunny are in trouble now aren't they?" As much as Dexter didn't want to admit it, she was right. Those four would be targeted by Franz now. He just hoped they could survive whatever was coming.
"You guys are making this way too complicated. You just need to listen to me.", Alex, Kat, and Melody were about 2 hours away from landing at The Institute. They had spent hours on the flight discussing what they would do to sneak Melody into the school. Of course Alex had, in his mind, the best plan of all which the girls didn't seem to agree with. "We just sneak her into my room and keep her there. We just keep her in the room and I will bring her food, water, etc. That way we don't have to risk her getting spotted. It's simple yet effective. You girls just need to trust me on this. Why should we risk her wandering around and Franz or one of his spies finds her. It's a simple and easy plan.", Alex didn't understand why either Kat or Melody did not grasp this. It was the best plan for them to help cover up her identity especially if Franz was the leader of The Righteous as he suspected.Melody looked at Alex horrified. It sounded like she would be some sort of prisoner which she was not going to sign up for. She had already done that with the Righteous and would not do that again. She looked over at Kat with pleading eyes. Kat just gave her a wink as a way of saying that she would handle this as she knew how to sweet talk Alex.
"Babe, you have to listen to us.", the 21 year old black haired seductress said. She was using her sultry tone which she knew Alex liked. Kat stared at him and blinked her brown eyes seductively. "Melody and I are right. We can't keep her locked up. That's what The Righteous did with her and we can't do the same to her. It would be so cruel to her. We can't let the poor thing suffer more than she already has. We have to let her go out and explore. Plus Ava has a lot of make up where we can truly disguise her. Now if you only wanted to have her in the room with you because you wanted to sleep with her then that's fine.", Kat gave a faux look of sadness to Alex. Of course it was an act. Melody had told Kat that she was gay so Kat knew that Alex wouldn't make a move on her. Alex rolled his eyes at Kat's comments and grabbed her cheeks. He then gave her a kiss. Melody made a gagging noise, she wasn't one for public affection as it was not appropriate. If this was how they were going to be all the time then Melody would rather go back to The Righteous. At least they didn't have public displays of affection. Kat looked at Melody and smiled, "sorry."
Melody just smiled back. She was so glad that she had found both Alex and Kat. While she may not have liked the public display of affection, but it wasn't torture. Plus she had seen both of them battle they were extremely strong and tough. Plus Kat had a mega stone and now Alex had Glasolemos. They would be a force together. Of course there was no telling what Melody would do when she got to The Institute. She knew she had to get some new Pokémon while hiding out. Kat's plan to hide her with a different identity was smart. Melody just hoped that people would buy it perhaps with better makeup. Melody also needed to catch more Pokémon to add to her team. Strong Pokémon that she hoped she could catch at the Institute. But most of all she just needed to rest. She really hasn't rested in such a long time. She was always worried about Dries, Marcia coming into her room and torturing her. She hadn't slept in years for fear of what would happen if she did. She couldn't wait to actually get rest. Plus they had a connection to her brother. She was a step closer to seeing Dex finally. Melody couldn't wait to just see her brother again. She was forever indebted to these two for helping her. They didn't have to especially since she used to be a Righteous member. Yet Alex and Kat had been so kind to her something she had not felt in years.
"Guys, I just want to say thank you. You didn't have to help me. You're still helping me. I don't deserve any of this help. Everything I have done when I was a member of The Righteous. I've...i Have killed Pokémon! I don't deserve your kindness.", Melody cried into Kat's shoulder. The poor girl had still not fully processed what she had become. The monster that she truly was. There were thoughts and memories in her mind that haunted her. The cries of the innocent Pokémon she had killed well been forced to kill. It sickened her as she thought back to it. But it appeared that Alex and Kat actually cared about her well being. They were willing to risk getting expelled or worse, if Alex's theory was right, on helping Melody out. She had never known such kindness in her life. Certainly not from her family. "You guys are risking so much for me. I'm not worth it. Please you guys don't have to do any of this. Just get me to Dexter and I will be on my way. I don't want you guys to get hurt either. Please you guys don't have to do this.", Melody had a very bad feeling especially if Franz was angered by her defection from the Righteous he would take it out on the students.
It was actually Alex that gave Melody a pat on her back. "You're our friend now. You've helped us so much. I wouldn't have figured out about the legendaries or even know where to start had you not told me about them last year. You were the game changer for everything. Melody you're the reason why our eyes were open to everything. Yes, you have done some horrific stuff, but you also did some great deeds. You helped Kat control her Mega. Without you she must have not been able to control Gale and might have gotten hurt. You walked Kat through it. You've made up for it. If we had to go through half the shit you endured we wouldn't have made it. You're sixteen Melody and you have proven yourself to be one of the toughest people I know. So of course we had to help you out. That's what friends do.", Kat would have jumped Alex right there and banged his brains out. That was the kindest thing Alex had ever said to anyone. This was the Alex Knight that she loved. Not the one who had acted like a fake tough guy or utter asshole that she hated. No this was the compassionate and kind Alex. The one that she knew had been hiding. What he had just said to Melody was so nice and sweet. The former blonde haired girl who had been crying on Kat's shoulder turned to Alex and started to weep again. She pulled him in for a hug and squeezed tightly.
Friends. That was a foreign concept to Melody. The Righteous had completely nullified any thought of friendship in Melody's mind. No one cared about her or for her. Being surrounded by a group of people that got off on abusing a 15 and then 16 year old girl every day were not people that she wanted to be associated with. They were not friends. They were her captors and abusers. They were people that murdered Pokémon just for the fun of it. That had tormented people just because they could. Melody was so glad that she didn't have to worry about them anymore. Now she had people that she could really trust. She just hoped these students were like Alex and Kat. Melody wiped tears from her eyes as she was a complete and utter mess. "I have never had real friends before. I was too young to really know true friendship before. I couldn't because of well The Righteous didn't want people to be friends. So you guys are my first friends I have ever had in my life.", both Kat and Alex gave Melody looks of pity which made her wince. She didn't like them looking at her like that. Still Kat and Alex were amazes that she didn't know the concept of friendship. Well they were glad that they could help her understand it.
The plane would arrive in Zlato at 9 pm. The trio were going straight to Kat and Ava's house. Melody had never experienced the Institute before, but she was amazed at it. Her parents had never thought she would go there nor did Dexter want her to. So she had never stepped foot on the campus before. She was amazed at how large and sprawling the school was. She had never seen anything like it. Of course she had a feeling that there was something off about the place. It seemed too nice and Melody had a feeling in her stomach that something was wrong here. That it was too nice and eloquent. Still she didn't say anything to Alex and Kat. She had already confessed a lot to them and didn't want to be too much of a burden. The three of them would arrive at Kat's house as she would start to show Melody around the place. The former Righteous member had never seen a house so nice and clean. Kat would finally stop in front of Ava's room and pull out her spare set of keys and let Melody in the room. Melody looked hesitant to enter the room as she didn't want to take someone's room. Kat just smiled, "don't worry my roommate isn't getting back until tomorrow afternoon. She went to Johto so it's a long flight. You're fine." Kat would help set Melody up in Ava's room as she closed the door. "Poor girl.", she said as Alex just nodded in agreement.
This left both Kat and Alex left by themselves in Kat's house with no Ava. Sure Melody was sleeping in Ava's room, but it was pretty far away from Kat's room. He looked at Kat lustfully. She was so beautiful and now she was his girlfriend. He had always thought of Kat as his mentor, but even Alex had to admit that he had sometimes had thoughts about sleeping with her. Most guys at The Institute had at least the ones Alex knew. But the question was would Kat reciprocate his thoughts? Did she have that desire that Alex was feeling? If she wanted to take it slow then he would too. That was only the right thing to do. Kat stared at Alex and cracked her neck. She then very slowly and seductively licked her lips. If that wasn't the sign that he needed, Alex didn't know what was. Alex pounced and kissed her so passionately as she would lead him towards her room.
Alex checked his Pokédex phone and saw that he had missed two phone calls from JJ, but that wasn't his concern right now. It was 7 am as Alex rolled over. He and Kat had spent a night together and it was amazing. Alex had never experienced anything like it. He had never ever really had a girlfriend before as he was too busy just whoring himself around to other girls not named Kat Kiner. But now that he had a girlfriend that he was truly and madly in love with he had experienced new heights. He rolled over and just stared at his beautiful girlfriend. She was perfect and Alex had felt like an absolute moron for the way he had mindfucked her over and over again. Kat didn't deserve the brutal way he had acted, but now he was happy that they were together. He didn't want anyone else he just wanted Kat and she wanted him. He kissed her cheek softly as he whispered, "babe, I'm going to shower and make breakfast." She just waved him off as Alex got out of bed and showered. He then put on one of Kat's pink bath robes which was the only spare thing lying around. Sure it was pink and small, but Kat and Melody were the only people there so it wasn't that big of a deal to him.
Alex then went downstairs and pulled out some eggs along with ham, cheese, and spinach. He was going to make an omelette for everyone. He didn't care if they didn't like it this was his signature meal that he cooked. He was a damn great chef if he did say so himself. Of course while he worked, Alex liked a little music especially The Smiths. So he fired up his music app and put on "Vicar in a Tutu" which was one of his favorite Smith songs. He would hum along with the song as he continued to make his special omelet. This was one of his favorite dishes that he made and he was just jamming out to the music. This was something he could do as the girls were asleep and the music was not loud at all. He was just glad that Ava and Bunny were not there to see him like this. Kat had mentioned that she would be the one to them especially Ava. Of course Alex was too distracted by his omelette and music to notice the door knob to the back door suddenly start to turn.
Bunny and Ava had went to Bunny's grandma's house in Johto. Bunny had called her grandmother the smartest person Bunny knew. The professor had been a force in helping to discover legendary Pokémon throughout all regions. She would know all about the Avantura trio and what to do with them. Bunny and Ava had gotten some great info on the Pokémon. They had also gotten more info on Franz who Bunny's grandmother was extremely distrusting of Franz. She had him a fraudster and was not happy that Bunny was at The Institute. But that was a story for another day. Still Bunny's grandmother had given them so much information and much more than they needed. Bunny's grandmother had even chartered a private flight for them to return to Avantura early. Which was why they were there so early as it would be a nice surprise for Kat who they imagined had a rough time given what Alex had done. Bunny and Ava had read their notes where Alex apologized and told them what he was doing. They just hoped that he had t died or worse gotten Kat hurt.
Ava opened the door and let Bunny into the backdoor through the kitchen. All of a sudden, Ava heard Bunny scream. Ava rushed in, "Bunny what's the-", there standing in front of Bunny was Alex wearing a pink bathrobe that was clearly Kat's. Ava's eyes widened at the sight as Alex looked horrified. Ava then heard Kat running down the stairs in a matching pink bathrobe. When Kat saw her best friend she immediately turned red from embarrassment. Ava's bicolored eyes shifted from Alex to Kat and the shame in it. She knew that look all too well, "YOU TOO HOOKED UP???WHAT THE FUCK!"
Ooc: had to add some humor at the end. Next chapter will be Bunny and Ava learning about Kat and Alex being a couple and the fallout of that. They will meet Melody and help her get adjusted. Oh and yes, Melody will speak to Dexter next chapter.
