Santiago was infuriating. She was an excellent cop and a decent partner, but she was so far up the captain's ass it was ridiculous. The captain was ridiculous (he didn't need babysitting), but somehow Santiago was worse. But still, there was something about her.
She was a good friend. She was more competitive than anyone Jake knew (Terry put that down to her being the only girl with seven brothers, she had to fight for her spot at the table), she was a hard worker, and not a bad partner.
Amy Santiago was like no woman he'd ever met.
