A class of 20 kids were all crammed into a bus, on their way to train in rescue disaster areas. They all were making idle chatter, getting to know their classmates. Hayate, their 20th classmate, was sitting next to the frog girl, happily discussing their fellow student's quirks casually. His stormy grey eyes roamed the bus. Kirishima answered a question of his with a cool tone. "Yeah. My hardening is super tough and it can destroy bad guys in a fight, but it doesn't look all that impressive. Plus I am a little limited in use."
Hayate waved a hand. "Nonsense. Your quirk looks pretty cool to me!" His hair color shifted to a clear light blue, waving ambiently with no discernable wind.
Bakugo scoffed. He could clearly see dozens of uses for Kirishima's quirk. He could stop bullets, potentionally use it to propell himself, fall great lengths without getting hurt, and could be a literal living human shield.
Kirishima blushed a little. "Oh, ya think so? It seems like I'd have a better chance at being a top hero if I had something flashier."
"My Naval Laser has the perfect combination of effective and attractive. Well suited for a hero, wouldn't you say?" Sparkles piped in.
"Yeah, but it's aay lame if it gives you a stomach ache sweetie," Pink alien argued gently. Aoyama sent her a look.
Laughing slightly at the exchange, Kiri resumed, "well if any of our classmates have pro quirks, it's Todoroki and Bakugo." Katsuki snorted again and looked away. The stupid haired boy was probably trying to get close to him again via flattery: it wasn't going to work."
"Yeah, but Bakugo is always angry, so he'll never be that popular."
"WHAT DID YOU SAY?!"
"Y'see?" Tsuyu, not fazed even in the slightest, pointed her thumb over her shoulder at the yelling Bakugo.
Dunce face couldn't keep to himself any longer and mockingly said, "you know its kinda telling that we just met you but we already know that your personality is flaming trash mixed with garbage."
"I'LL MAKE YOU REGRET THE DAY YOU WERE BORN!"
Ponytail covered her mouth at the strange scene. "This is an oddly uncomfortable situation."
"Yeah but it's kinda funny to watch them fight." Pink cheeks giggled at the loud antics. Free drama play, in her opinion.
At last, their homeroom teacher stepped into hearing range of the students. "Pipe down. We're almost there." The students all fell silent. As they filed off the bus however, they erupted in quiet gasps and whispers.
"Hello everyone! I've been waiting for you!" As the chivalrous pro hero known for saving tons of people across the world, Thirteen's arms were thrown open wide in a cheery welcome. Uraraka began gushing about how the hero was one of her favorites. Thirteen and Aizawa led the children inside the large dome building, prompting more gasps.
"It looks like a kind of amusement park!" Kirishima whopped.
Indeed it did: consisting of a shipwreck, a landslide, a fire, a windstorm, and many other dangerous mock disasters, it was quite the spectacle. "I created this facility to prepare you for different types of disasters." Thirteen proudly said, arms once again outstretched. "I call it the Unforseen Simulation Joint! But you call it USJ!"
'Just like Universal Studios of Japan,' everyone thought at once like some silly children's show.
Letting the children murmur amongst themselves for a moment, Aizawa walked up to Thirteen. "Hey shouldn't All Might be here already? Don't tell me he booked an interview instead."
"Actually its something else," Thirteen's voice dropped to a conspiratorial whisper. "He was doing hero work this morning and ended up using all of his hero form. He's resting with Nezu and may join us at the very end."
Aizawa sighed and returned to his class. "Whatever. The clock is ticking. We should get started."
"Excellent! Then before we begin I'd like to say one thing... maybe two... possibly three... or four... or five..." Bakugo rolled his eyes in exasperation. "Listen carefully. I'm sure you're all aware that I have a very powerful quirk. It is called Black Hole. I can use it to suck up anything and turn it into dust."
Katsuki started to space out at this point. He was looking out at the plaza, where he saw an all too familiar heat haze. Beyond that, a few of the lights above their heads began to flicker silently. Aizawa caught Bakugo's distracted look. Looking down at the plaza himself, he saw the heat haze.
Thirteen continued to ramble on. "In our superhuman society all quirks are registered and regulated, so we often forget how unsafe they actually can be. Please don't forget that if you lose focus or make the wrong move, your powers can be deadly; even if you're trying to do something virtuous like rescue someone. Thanks to Aizawa's fitness test, you have a solid idea of you quirk's potential; and due to All Might's combat training, you know how dangerous they can be when used in combat against another. Carry those lessons over to this class! Today, you'll be learning how to use your powers to save people's lives; you won't be attacking enemies or each other; your only goal is to help. After all, that is what being a hero is all about; ensuring the safety of others!"
Katsuki drew his attention back to his two teachers. One eyebrow quirked upwards, but then crashed back down in a scowl. He could tell any of these extras from experience that rescue was only part of the job. Finding and stopping the villains responsible for the needs for rescue was equally important. 'Of course,' a soft voice chirped in his ear, 'sometimes there aren't villains responsible. Sometimes, accident DO just happen.' Katsuki flinched and drew his eyes away as Thriteen finished the speech.
"That's all I have to say. Thank you so much for listening." The class cheered and applauded. It was a positive and uplifting speech. But Bakugo still wasn't paying attention. He was staring at a new warped anomaly down at the plaza.
The lights ringing the dome fizzled and died in a heart-stopping moment. Down at the plaza, the fountain sputtered for a second before it too died, the last of its water splashing pathetically onto the floor. A tiny purple cloud appeared beside the fountain, right where Bakugo had been staring; suddenly, the small cloud erupted across the plaza, stretching from end to end.
A pale hand pushed through the cloud. It seemed to find an edge in the mist to pull it away: the hand revealed another hand plastered onto the face of a thin and gangly looking man.
Bakugo's blood ran cold.
"Stay together and don't move!" Aizawa ordered, slipping on his goggles and gripping his scarf. "Thirteen, protect the students!"
"What is that? Is the training started already? I thought we were rescuing people." Kirishima lifted a hand to his eyes, trying to spy further.
"Stay back!" The class flinched at Aizawa's order.
Katsuki swallowed hard. Already he saw the flames of his old school rising in his mind's eye: it probably wouldn't be long before he would start hearing the screams as well. He needed to hit something and he needed to hit it soon. Luckily, there seemed to be plenty of punching bags around. He lowered into a fighting stance, trying to block out the flames that weren't actually there.
A flicker off to the side caught his eye. The heat haze he had come to know as his stalker had gotten closer: if he looked hard enough, it almost looked as though his stalker running towards the students.
'Is he also part of the attack?' Katsuki thought in a panic. 'Might explain how they knew to attack today since he can get inside U.A. at will.' He snorted, palms popping with explosions. It didn't matter right then. If his stalker was an enemy, then he would creamed like the rest of thsse villains.
All that mattered was that he didn't have a repeat of 5 years ago. Today would be different.
Heroes and villains stared at each other, waiting for the first move on either side. One thought was unanimous between both sides.
Where was All Might?
A/N
So, a satisfying filler in my opinion. Next chapter will start the actual fight and, like I said last chapter, the fight will probably be two chapters long. Here's hoping I can get them out soon as well.
Brownie points to anyone who can guess Katsuki's main coping method. Kinda hinted at it here.
Also, Hayate is going to be the replacement student for Izuku, since Izuku is thoroughly dead. We'll discuss his quirk next chapter. Since this story is about Bakugo, he won't have the same influence as Izuku does in canon bcuz he doesn't have OFA. So don't expect him to take on Overhaul or anything. For a basic description before we see him next chapter, he's about 5'10, straight but messy hair that shifts colors depending on his mood (ranging from light clue to really dark blue, to gray,) his hair is always moving like its caught in a breeze (if he's angry it flaps around a lot,) and he is relatively thin. More brownie point for who can guess his quirk.
So... LOV attacking and the shadow stalker appearing. Coincidence? Tell me what yall think.
As always I have a lot of new info in my bio that I added over my hiatus, so check all that out.
So long Lovies!
