A week later, Ochako is doing better after having a few sessions with Hound Dog. The others know that she has depression and is living with Izuku after Aizawa gave him the green light to stay with her at all times. They have been doing the best they can to help her. But nothing is stopping the bad dreams and voices in her head. They have been getting worse lately.
Ochako, Izuku and Class A attended her parents' funeral Friday afternoon, which was paid by UA. After she said her goodbyes, Class A took the bus back to the dorms. The couple went to their room and Ochako cried her heart out as Izuku held her in his arms.
Saturday morning, as Ochako was talking to Izuku, her bad thoughts were starting to influence her once again.
'He's just talking to you because he feels bad about you not having any friends.' Her bad thoughts were trying to take over.
'Shut up. I have Izu and I do have friends.' Ochako said, fighting off the bad thoughts that were trying to invade her mind.
She suddenly feels the urge to scratch her wrist. Izuku notices but doesn't say anything. She starts scratching faster and her wrist starts bleeding.
"Stop that." Izuku said, grabbing her wrist.
"S-sorry.. My body is doing it on its own."
"Stay calm. Just try to resist it." Izuku said, grabbing a napkin and wiping the blood off her wrist.
"I'll try. Thank you Izu." Ochako smiled.
"I'm here for you, Ocha." Izuku said, kissing her forehead.
A few hours later, Ochako starts to get the urge to scratch at her wrist again but she remembers what Izuku said. She grabs her wrist with the other to stop herself.
'Stop it, Ochako. Even though it's really tempting, you can't do it.' Ochako told herself.
'Come on. Come on. You know how good it feels.'
"Just Shut up!" Ochako slapped herself.
"Ok I'm good. I'm tired. I should go to sleep." Ochako goes to her room and gets in bed with him.
Ochako hears many voices in her dreams. All the voices are saying bad things about her. She endures all of the insults until she hears a voice that she didn't expect since.
"Why are you so useless? You should just leave everything." Dream Izuku said, an evil smile on his face.
"Just shut up! You're not real! The real Izu would never say that to me." Ochako countered.
"You should just kill yourself so you would be able to join your parents." Dream Izuku taunted her.
"What did you just say?" Ochako asked, shocked to hear him say that.
"Are you retarded, Uraraka? Let me spell it out for you… k.i.l.l y.o.u.r.s.e.l.f ." Dream Izuku mocked her.
Ochako starts crying in her sleep. She wakes up and runs out of the room.
Izuku wakes up and sees Ochako run out of the room. He wonders where she is going. He gets up and goes after her. He sees her running up the staircase to the roof.
"Ocha, wait!" Izuku exclaimed, running up the stairs.
Ochako opens the door to the roof and runs to the edge of the building. She climbs up the railing and looks down to the ground. Izuku bursts through the door.
"Ocha stop! Don't do it!" Izuku pleaded with his girlfriend.
Ochako looks at him. "WHY SHOULD I LISTEN TO YOU?! NOBODY LIKES ME! THE VOICES IN MY HEAD JUST KEEP GETTING LOUDER! WHY SHOULD I STOP NOW?! YOU TOLD ME TO KILL MYSELF TO JOIN MY PARENTS!" She was practically screaming at him.
Izuku looked at her in shock. "I'M BEGGING YOU! PLEASE STOP! DO YOU THINK YOUR PARENTS WOULD WANT THIS?! THEY WOULD WANT YOU TO LIVE YOUR DREAM! THEY WOULD WANT YOU TO BE HAPPY! YOU KNOW I WOULD NEVER SAY THAT TO YOU! EVERYONE HERE WANTS YOU TO LIVE! I WANT YOU TO LIVE! EVERYONE LOVES YOU! OCHAKO I LOVE YOU!"
"Y-you really love me, Izu?" Ochako asked, in a small voice.
"Yes, with all my heart. Without you, I'd live with regret. I will have to live with the fact that my girlfriend jumped from the roof and there was nothing I could do to stop it. I would quit being a hero because I could not save you." Izuku said, looking down.
"Izu..." Ochako said before looking at him.
"So please Ocha. Come back to me." Izuku begged his girlfriend.
Ochako hesitated but got off the rail and made her way towards Izuku. She ran towards him and hugged him tightly.
"I'm sorry Izu! I was being selfish! I allowed my bad thoughts to get the best of me and I let myself believe nobody wanted me! I'm sorry!" Ochako sobbed into his chest.
"It's okay Ocha. You don't need to worry anymore. I am here." Izuku said, rubbing Ochako's back with one hand and massaging her hair with the other.
Ochako quietly whimpered as her boyfriend held her tightly, crying softly and whispering 'I love you'. She lost track of how much time passed while they were on the roof, but she didn't care. She felt safe in Izuku's arms.
Izuku cupped Ochako's face, tears in his eyes and kissed her.
"How about we go downstairs and eat some mochi?" he asked softly.
Ochako smiled and nodded. "I'd love that, Izuku." She said, sniffling.
Izuku picks Ochako up bridal-style and carries her down to the 1-A dorms.
