Title: Changing For The Better
Summary: Due to some interfering witches, a hot night between Katherine and Stefan results in her being pregnant. Stefan starts off by forgiving her and eventually falls in love. Katherine starts off by trying to get Stefan and then she ends up changing. Elena is not happy about any of it. Steferine and slowburn Bamon. Anti-Delena. Takes place after Katherine helps Stefan with his PTSD in Season 5.
Rating: M for Mature due to smut scenes.
Warnings: Not for fans of Elena or Delena. Elena may seem OOC in this story but I'm channeling all my frustration with this character into my writing.

Chapter 7: The Dawn Coven
"I don't see why Bonnie and I both have to sit in the back when the passenger seat is free," Damon rolls his eyes. "My car, my rules," Nadia smirks. Damon ignores her and turns his attentions to Bonnie. "So, what about you witchy witch, don't you have a problem with this?"
Nadia answers instead, "Well of course she does because she has to share with you… You on the other hand shouldn't have a problem." Damon frowns and Bonnie laughs. "You know, you're starting to grow on me," Bonnie squeezes Nadia's shoulder. Nadia hides her smile.
"So, this person we're going to see, what do you know about them?" Bonnie asks Nadia.
"They're called the Dawn Coven. They're not known for being very powerful, but they are known for having the best seers. Their prophecies are legendary. They were good allies of the Bennett coven. Their current leader is Allison Dawn. They mostly keep to themselves so not much is known about them."
After twenty minutes of Bonnie and Damon bickering, Bonnie yawns. "You can sleep if you want," Nadia tells her, "We still have another 40 minutes to go. It would be bad if we showed up with an unrested witch." Bonnie smiles and nods tiredly before leaning back and falling asleep.
40 minutes later, Bonnie wakes up to find that she somehow ended up making herself comfortable on Damon's shoulder. "Sorry," Bonnie mumbles out. Damon smirks, "I knew you wouldn't be able to resist me." He winks at her, and Bonnie rolls her eyes.
"If the two of you are done flirting, we're here," Nadia smirks at them.
"We're not flirting," Bonnie protests. They both move away from each other.
They all get out of the car and move towards the door. Before any of them can knock, the door swings open. They all look at each other before Nadia enters. Bonnie follows her and Damon follows Bonnie. Bonnie walks into a spider's web and shrieks before stepping backwards. She loses footing and braces herself to hit the ground when Damon catches her.
"Thanks," Bonnie breathes out, aware of how close their faces are together.
"Couldn't let my favourite witch injure herself," Damon smirks before steadying her.
Nadia clears her throat. "As entertaining as the sexual tension is, can we get going?"
"Right of course," Bonnie brushes some residue web off her jacket, and they continue searching.
They see light coming out of a door and as they get closer it swings open. "We've been waiting for you." Damon moves to stand protectively in front of Bonnie. "Well, that's not creepy at all."
"Damon," Bonnie hisses, "Now really isn't the time for sarcasm." The voice speaks again, "Come in." They enter the room slowly and the door closes behind them. They see a group of people looking at them.
One figure lowers her hood to reveal a blonde-haired woman. "Welcome. Have a seat." Three chairs appear. Bonnie sits down, studying the face of the woman. Damon moves his chair closer to Bonnie's and sits down. Nadia sits down before speaking, "We seek the doppelganger prophecy."
The woman narrows her eyes at Nadia, "Why would we share that with a traveller? Your people have been trying to keep the doppelgangers apart for millennia."
"I come on behalf of my mother, a Petrova doppelganger. He comes on behalf of Stefan Salvatore, Silas's shadow self, and she represents the Bennett coven. We do not seek to harm the doppelgangers."
"I see that you are telling the truth which is why I will share the prophecy with you," The woman announces, "Delphi, come forward."
A young girl walks to the centre of the room. "Yes, Allison."
The girl's eyes turn white, and she begins speaking.
Their eyes widen as they listen to the prophecy.
After hearing the prophecy, they get back in the car and start driving back to Mystic Falls.
"So, a super powerful child raised by Katherine Pierce," Damon says sarcastically, "That totally sounds like a good idea."
"The kid will be raised by Stefan too," Nadia points out.
"Well hopefully the kid gets more Salvatore genes than Petrova," Damon rolls his eyes at her.
"You realize your precious Elena is a Petrova too?" Nadia raises an eyebrow at him. Damon then realizes that he hasn't thought about her once during this whole trip.
"So, what are your thoughts on this?" Damon asks Bonnie, "You know considering you're supposed to be this kid's magical guardian and all."
"I don't know," Bonnie admits, "I mean it's prophesized so it's not like I can say no. I know it's Katherine's child and you hate her but it's Stefan's child too. Stefan was there for me when everything went down with my grams and…" She trails off. He squeezes her hand. "I don't know if I ever said it, but I'm sorry about that. I really am." Bonnie presses her lips together and nods but doesn't move her hand.
An hour later they arrive back at the Salvatore Boarding House. Caroline is sitting on the couch texting while Matt and Jeremy are playing a video game. They press pause and Jeremy calls out, "Katherine, Stefan, they're back."
Bonnie goes to sit next to Jeremy and Nadia takes a seat next to Matt. Katherine and Stefan walk downstairs. Katherine sits down and Stefan stands next to her. "You might want to sit down for this," Damon sighs. Stefan eyes him curiously before sitting next to Katherine.
"So, the child is definitely yours, no getting out of that one," Damon jokes and Katherine glares at him. "It was fated for the doppelgangers to have a child together… They didn't know which ones but apparently, it's the two of you. The child is going to be powerful, drawing on the power from both doppelganger blood lines," Damon looks at Bonnie. He's unsure if he should continue but she nods so he goes on.
"The Bennetts are the line that is supposed to protect the child. It's the universe's way of making up for the whole Qetsiyah cursing Amara for 2000 years. They could only reveal the first part to us. They said that later on in the pregnancy someone from their coven will come to deliver another part of the prophecy."
"You forgot something," Nadia says. "Oh that," Damon presses his lips together. "Nothing major… Just that this child may bring about the destruction of the world, because he or she will be so powerful that his or her human body will not be able to contain that kind of power," Nadia says looking at Katherine. Katherine places an arm around her body protectively.
"But they said that there's a way to stop it," Bonnie interjects.
"How do we stop it?" Katherine asks immediately.
"We have to inject you with a potion when you're giving birth. It will suppress the baby's powers and release them as he or she grows so it does not overwhelm his or her body," Bonnie explains.
"Okay that doesn't sound so bad," Stefan nods.
"Except for the fact that since you're completely human so the potion has a very high chance of killing you," Nadia says looking at her mother. Katherine swallows. "I don't care. Do it."
"But you could die," Nadia objects, "Don't you understand that?"
"I do," Katherine replies, "But I gave up one child, I'm not giving up another. It's my decision and I've made it." She gets up and walks away leaving everyone shocked at her selfless act.
Stefan is about to follow her when Elena enters the room. "What are you guys doing?" Elena asks, looking around at everyone. "We were talking about the prophecy," Caroline informs her. "Wait, you guys were having a meeting without me?" Elena asks angrily, "Did any of you even notice that I wasn't here?" They all look away from her guiltily. She stomps her feet.
"Unbelievable!" She rushes out of the room expecting someone to come after her.
