The Apartment

When did everyone decide to become an adult? I mean, I know you were born in your fifties, but come on.

Thanks?

Amy cups her hands around her coffee mug, staring as Jake flopped down on the couch (this was surprising, considering how no one ever sat on Hitchcock and Scully's nap couch). "Jake?" she tries, and he sighs again loudly.

"When did everyone decide to become adults?" he wants to know. "This was a plot twist I didn't see coming".

"I mean, I guess it's kinda inevitable".

He frowns at her. "You're no help".

"Yeah, we aren't even gonna go there". Amy makes a point of never giving Jake advise, because it always came back to bite her.

"Gina's gonna be my landlord".

"What?" she startles. "Gina?"

"Right?" Jake agrees. "When did she decide to grow up?"

"Everyone's got to grow up sometime, Peter Pan".

Jake sighs again and for a second, Amy almost feels sorry for him.
