Title: Changing For The Better

Summary: Due to some interfering witches, a hot night between Katherine and Stefan results in her being pregnant. Stefan starts off by forgiving her and eventually falls in love. Katherine starts off by trying to get Stefan and then she ends up changing. Elena is not happy about any of it. Steferine and slowburn Bamon. Anti-Delena. Takes place after Katherine helps Stefan with his PTSD in Season 5.

Rating: M for Mature due to smut scenes.

Warnings: Not for fans of Elena or Delena. Elena may seem OOC in this story but I'm channeling all my frustration with this character into my writing.

Author's Note: Just got done writing an absolutely horrible assignment, please pray that I passed it... Hope you guys enjoy this chapter with some Bamon and Kat/Jer friendship! More Steferine in the next one. Don't forget to review and let me know what you think!

Chapter 9: Marshmello at breakfast

Damon drives as Bonnie plays on her phone. "That's rude, you know?" Damon glances at her.

"What?" Bonnie looks up at him in surprise.

"Generally, when someone is giving you a ride home, you're supposed to be social."

Bonnie raises her eyebrow at him, "You want us to have a conversation?"

"Maybe," Damon shrugs, "Would that be so bad?"

Bonnie sighs. "Okay, then talk." Damon presses his lips together. "How are you?" Bonnie looks at him in shock. The surprise in her voice is evident as she asks, "What?"

Damon rolls his eyes, "It's a simple question, Bon-Bon. Literally one of the first questions you learn as a child. How are you?"

Bonnie shifts uncomfortably in her seat as she sees his eyes focused on her. "Forgive me for being a little surprised… It's not like you've ever asked me a question like that before."

Damon's grip on the steering wheel tightens. "Yeah, well, I was an ass before."

"What's changed?" Bonnie asks, studying him. "I don't know," Damon admits, "But something has."

He stops in front her house. She moves to open the door but before she can, he opens it for her. "What are you doing?" She looks at him as if she sees right through him.

"What does it look like I'm doing?" Damon's moves forward, closing the door behind her. This unintentionally closes the space between their bodies.

"It looks like you're being a gentleman…" Bonnie looks up at him before smirking, "How very Stefan of you." Damon scoffs. "Where do you think he learnt it from?" Damon asks cockily.

She closes her eyes as she feels his warmth breath hit her skin. He looks down at her lips. They look so kissable and just so close to him. He shakes his head and frowns. 'What am I doing?' Damon thinks. He takes a step back and she opens her eyes. They both begin walking to her door.

They reach her door, and she opens it. She takes a step inside. "I'm not inviting you inside if that's what you're waiting for," Bonnie remarks after noticing he hasn't moved.

"You still don't trust me, Bon Bon?" Damon asks, clutching at his chest playfully. 'I don't trust me,' Bonnie thinks. "Good night, Damon," She shakes her head at him and closes the door behind her.

Damon looks at the now closed door and walks back to his car extremely confused by not just her actions but his own even more so.

Katherine wakes up and smiles at the man sleeping next to her. Her stomach growls loudly and she groans. She slips out of bed, brushes her teeth, and goes to the kitchen. No one else is awake yet so it's time for her to fend for herself. There's not much to choose from, which doesn't really surprise her since the only human that lives there is Jeremy, and he spends most of his time at the Mystic Grill anyway.

She opens all the cupboards until she finds a frying pan, some butter and salt. Then she grabs an egg from the fridge. "Okay Katherine, it's been a long time since you've done this but you're Katherine Pierce, you're a survivor," Katherine says to herself. She cracks the egg open into a bowl and groans as she gets some shell into it.

"You need some help?" Jeremy says before chuckling.

Katherine looks up at him hopefully, "Yes please."

She gets up onto the counter and he gets the shell out of the bowl. He puts some butter into the pan and turns the stove on. She swings her legs as he pours the mixture into the frying pan. He starts humming while he cooks, and Katherine recognizes the tone, so she begins to sing along.

"Yeah, I'd be a lover than a fighter, cause all my life I've been fighting, never felt a feeling of comfort oh, and all this time I've been hiding, and I never had someone to call my own oh nah, I'm so used to sharing, love only left alone, but I'm at one with the silence," Katherine sings.

Jeremy takes over as he puts scrambled eggs onto two plates and begins buttering their slices bread. "I found peace in your violence, can't tell me there's no point in trying, I'm at one, and I've been quiet for too long. I found peace in your violence, can't tell me there's no point in trying, I'm at one, and I've been quiet for too long."

She headbangs along to the music while he sings. He pauses for a moment how human she looks to him… She's Katherine Pierce yes, but also there's something different about her. He shakes those thoughts away.

He places her breakfast on the counter next to her. "You listen to Marshmello?" Jeremy asks her surprised. "Obviously," Katherine replies, "I might be old, but I'm not old… Besides, I relate to that song."

Jeremy chuckles. "Fair enough."

She takes a bite of the food, and her eyes widen. "Oh my god, this is amazing," Katherine says in between bites.

"Thanks," Jeremy says before scratching the back of his neck, "It's one of three meals I know how to make."

"What are the other two?" Katherine asks curiously.

"Anything canned and anything that needs frying," Jeremy replies. Katherine laughs. "You're alright, Little Gilbert."

Jeremy's phone buzzes and he looks at the text before groaning. "What?" Katherine asks curiously. "Matt and I were supposed to take part in this online gaming competition but they're short-staffed at the Grill and he won't make it. Normally I would take part myself, but it's a duos tournament," Jeremy explains.

"Well, what if you had a new partner, and by new partner I mean me," Katherine offers.

He perks up. "Really?"

Katherine nods and smiles at him brightly. "We should go practice so that you're ready," Jeremy says, "I really want to win this so I can buy Bonnie a nice birthday present." They both head to the lounge and start up the PlayStation.

Stefan wakes up and looks to his side. He frowns at the lack of Katherine next to him. He brushes his teeth and heads downstairs. "Katherine?" He calls out. "In here," Katherine shouts. He walks into the lounge to find Katherine sitting on the couch with Jeremy playing video games.

"What's going on in here?" Stefan raises his eyebrow at them.

"We're taking part in a video game tournament," Jeremy replies, his eyes never leaving the screen.

"Why?" Stefan directs the question at Katherine.

"So, Jeremy can buy Bonnie a nice birthday present," Katherine replies, also focused on the screen.

"So, you're helping Jeremy with nothing in it for you?" Stefan asks.

Katherine shrugs. "I guess so." Stefan smiles.

He was right, Katherine was changing, and she didn't even know it. "Stef, we need more groceries," Katherine informs him, "There's not much around here for us humans."

"Okay I'll take care of dinner tonight and we'll go grocery shopping tomorrow and get whatever you want," Stefan offers. She looks up at him and smiles.

"Did you take your vitamins?"

She nods and he presses a kiss to her forehead before leaving to get ingredients for dinner.

Replies to Reviews:

1) DayDreamer12 (Chapter 1): I completely agree! Like yes she had to follow her feelings that's fine BUT she did not have to jump into bed with his brother in his home less than a day after breaking his heart. I lost all respect for her when she did that (not that I had much left). After she starts dating Damon, she literally never really holds him accountable for his actions, their relationship really changed her for the worst because she ended up having no morals. She literally made Stefan feel bad about things other people have done but doesn't make Damon feel guilty about the things he has done. Elena season 1-2 was great, S3 was were she started going downhill but she was still redeemable, S4 she literally just had the opposite of character development and I don't like her from S4 onwards.

2) IntrovertedxxMusings (Chapter 7): Just trying to keep true to the show lol =D.

3) Green-Extreme-Ninjetti13: Thanks for the support :)!

4) DarylDixon'sLover: Thank you :)!

5) hwolf: Thank you :)!

Author's Note: So I was only planning to update this weekend, but everyone's reviews were so sweet that I quickly edited this to post :)! I had a quick question about formatting... Normally I write in a more paragraph style, but as someone who reads fanfiction on her phone, I've noticed that it's easier to read with more separation (like I've done in this chapter and I think the previous 2 as well). So I just wanted to know, what do you guys prefer when you're reading?

Much Love
