So, now that we are alone. I have to ask. Did you arrest a perp named Joe Uterus?
Oh my god, yes. I should have told you immediately. Perp name Hall of Fame, right?
Oh, yeah. First ballot. It was right up there with Sylvester Stools and Janet Stalkmuncher.
She'd missed him. But, due to the nature of their relationship, she'd never tell him that she had missed him.
Seeing him sitting opposite her again made her smile. It wasn't the same, looking up and seeing an empty desk
She missed his stupid jokes and she missed the way he laughed with his whole body, and how his toothy grin lit up his whole face.
And even though she hadn't realised it- because she had a boyfriend, she was still with Teddy- she missed the way his smile, the one he directed at her, made butterflies flutter in her tummy.
She never felt that with Teddy.
