Title: Changing For The Better
Summary: Due to some interfering witches, a hot night between Katherine and Stefan results in her being pregnant. Stefan starts off by forgiving her and eventually falls in love. Katherine starts off by trying to get Stefan and then she ends up changing. Elena is not happy about any of it. Steferine and slowburn Bamon. Anti-Delena. Takes place after Katherine helps Stefan with his PTSD in Season 5.
Rating: M for Mature due to smut scenes.
Warnings: Not for fans of Elena or Delena. Elena may seem OOC in this story but I'm channeling all my frustration with this character into my writing.

Chapter 15: Trouble in paradise
Caroline raises her eyebrow at the familiarity between Bonnie and Damon. "Come on, it's time to go shopping," Caroline announces.
"You're going shopping?" Damon raises his eyebrow at Bonnie.
"Why?" Bonnie smirks at him, "Do you want to carry my bags again?"
Before he can answer Bonnie follows the girls and Jeremy out of the room.
"Are you coming brother?" Stefan smirks.
"If you insist," Damon says before following the others.
Nadia drops Jeremy off at the Grill before going to meet more witches to find out more about the pregnancy.
Katherine gets in the car with Stefan and Caroline. "Bonnie, aren't you coming?" Caroline asks.
"Actually… Since Damon is coming, I thought we could use another car to put shopping bags in. And I figured Bonnie would be able to keep him under control," Katherine interjects, "You don't mind riding with Damon, do you Bonnie?"
Bonnie shrugs, "It's fine." She gets into Damon's car, and he shoots Katherine a wink. She winks back at him. Stefan looks at the exchange, wondering what Katherine and Damon are up to. He starts driving while Caroline explains to them both which stores, they need to go to and what they need to get.
"So, I was thinking we'd do another shopping trip for the baby stuff since we don't know if the baby is a boy or girl yet. Today we're going to pick up some maternity clothing, food for the baby mama, more prenatal vitamins and some books for you guys to read. I went through the reviews and found the ten most helpful books. Stefan and Damon will go pick up those things and us girls will head to the clothing section. You guys can meet us when you're done," Caroline gives instructions.
They arrive at the mall and part ways.
The Salvatores do their jobs efficiently and then find the girls. Stefan sees the panicked look on Caroline's face.
"What's wrong?" Stefan asks concerned.
"She's refusing to leave the dressing room," Caroline starts ranting, "I think it's my fault. We were just talking about the pregnancy and…"
"Shh, it's okay," Stefan says pulling Caroline into a hug which calms her down, "I'll go check on her, okay? You go and get yourself some tea to calm down." Caroline nods and he heads over to the locked dressing room. He knocks on the door.
"Go away Caroline," Katherine calls out.
"It's Stefan."
"Go away Stefan," Katherine responds.
"Katherine… I'm not going away. Open up the door and tell me what's wrong," Stefan says concerned.
"No," Katherine pouts, "You're going to say it's silly."
"Katherine, if you don't open this door, I'm going to break it down," Stefan warns her. She begrudgingly opens the door. He sees her tear-filled eyes and enters, closing the door behind him.
"Tell me what's going on," Stefan furrows his eyebrows.
She looks away from him. "I'm going to get fat, Stefan! And hideous! And you're not going to want me anymore!" Stefan starts laughing.
"See," Katherine says angrily, "This is why I didn't want to tell you."
He stops laughing when he sees the angry expression on her face. "I'm sorry, it's just seeing the great Katherine Pierce be so insecure is something I never thought I'd see."
She glares at him. "I'm glad this is so funny to you."
"Oh, come on, Kat… You really think that's the kind of guy I am?" Stefan raises his eyebrow.
"No," Katherine admits.
"I want you, Katherine. And when you start putting on extra weight because you're carrying my child, that's going to turn me on even more," Stefan says stepping closer to her. He drops to his knees.
"What are you doing?" Katherine asks. His hand slides up her long legs until he reaches the waistband of her panties.
"Proving how much I want you," Stefan says as he pulls her panties down, lifts her dress and starts placing soft kisses on her inner thighs. She feels herself getting wetter and wetter as she anticipates his mouth on her already soaking pussy.
Damon and Bonnie are waiting while Caroline went to get some tea to calm herself down.
"What's taking them so long?" Bonnie asks impatiently. Damon focuses and tries to hear what Stefan is saying to Katherine.
"Oh god," Damon groans.
"What?" Bonnie asks curiously.
"Let's just say my brother is making her feel better with his mouth, but not his words," Damon wiggles his eyebrows.
"Wait, what do you…" Bonnie starts off confused before her eyes widen in realization and she blushes, "Oh."
"How about we pay for these and get out of here?" Damon offers, "I'll text Stefan." She nods in agreement.
"I'll text Care and see if she needs a ride."
A few minutes later everything is paid for, and they walk back to Damon's car, bags in hand. "Luckily there's space for all of this, since Stefan and I put everything that we got into his car."
"Caroline texted me and said she's going to meet Matt and them at the Grill," Bonnie informs him.
"Oh… okay," Damon says disappointed, "Do you want me to drop you off there?"
"Or we could drop this stuff off at the Boarding House and then we could both go to the Grill?" Bonnie offers.
"Like together?" Damon raises his eyebrow.
"Yeah, well we're friends now and friends hang out," Bonnie teases him.
Stefan licks his lips and stands up. Katherine is breathing heavily and moves to sit down. "What are you doing?" Stefan asks.
"My legs feel like jelly and if I try to move, I'm definitely going to fall," Katherine responds.
"Sorry," Stefan laughs.
"Don't be," Katherine replies, still trying to catch her breath.
"We should probably get going," Stefan says, looking at his phone, "Damon dropped the stuff at home, and everyone is meeting at the Grill."
She nods and they leave the store. They decide to stop at the Boarding House for quick change of clothes.
"So…" Stefan starts off, "What's going on between you and Damon?"
Katherine furrows her eyebrows. "What are you talking about?"
"The two of you are hiding something and I want to know what it is," Stefan says, holding eye contact with her.
"Nothing…" Katherine lies, "We're not hiding anything."
He notices how she avoids his eyes, and, in that moment, he realizes she's lying and that maybe all the change he was seeing in her was just too good to be true… He's being played for a fool once again.
"Wow… Take me back to 1864, why don't you?" Stefan remarks bitterly before walking out to his car.
She frowns but follows after him and gets into the passenger seat. She tries to decide how to make small talk, but Stefan turns on the radio and turns the sound up.
"But it's not the fact that you kissed him yesterday, it's the feeling of betrayal that I just can't seem to shake and everything I know tells me that I should walk away but I just wanna stay…"
He shuts the music off and continues driving in silence. "Stefan… what's going on with you?" Katherine asks confused.
"Nothing," Stefan responds blankly, not looking at her. She touches his arm, and he tenses so she pulls away.
"Why won't you tell me what's wrong?" Katherine asks concerned.
"What's the point Katherine?" Stefan asks, finally looking at her, "You're never going to be satisfied with just me, are you? I'm never going to be enough, am I?"
He parks the car, gets out and starts walking towards the Grill. She leaves the car and walks inside. Stefan is at the bar, downing a drink. Bonnie, Damon and Caroline are seated at a table while Matt is taking their order. Matt leaves the table and starts walking towards the kitchen, stopping to greet Katherine on his way. She moves towards the table and stops in front of it.
Caroline pats the seat next to her. "Come on, sit down. Where's Stefan?"
"He went to get a drink," Katherine responds, her eyes trailing over to where Stefan is sitting at the bar.
"Excuse me, I'm going to check on him," Caroline says, the concern evident in her voice. She goes over to the bar.
Bonnie's phone rings. "I'm going to take this outside, I'll be right back," Bonnie announces before leaving the table.
Damon takes note of Katherine's silence. "Trouble in paradise, Kitty Kat?"
She glares at him before she can respond, Matt appears and places plates of food in front of them. "Aren't I a good uncle? I got all of this for my future niece or nephew," Damon smirks.
She takes a whiff of the guacamole on the nachos and her stomach begins to churn. "Oh crap," Katherine says before running off to the bathroom.
Damon goes to the bathroom and finds her throwing up in a toilet. He holds her hair back with one hand and uses the other to draw soothing circles on her back. Once she's done, she grabs some tissue and wipes her mouth.
"Are you okay?" Damon asks.
"Morning sickness," Katherine replies, "But I would really like to brush my teeth."
"Okay, I'll get Matt to pack some food up and then I'll tell Stefan to take you home," Damon offers.
"Yeah… I don't think he's going to want to do that," Katherine sighs.
He looks at her curiously. "What happened?"
"I don't know…" Katherine admits, "We got here, and he was ranting about not being enough for me… I don't even know where he got that idea." Tears start forming in her eyes.
"Well, you guys seemed fine at the store so whatever went wrong must have happened after… what did you guys do after?" Damon asks.
"We got home, showered and got dressed. Then he asked me something and I answered. Then he said something about 1864 and we got into the car," Katherine says, recollecting the events of today.
"What did he ask you?" Damon asks.
"Nothing," Katherine replies, a little too quickly.
"Katherine…" Damon narrows his eyes at her, "What did he ask you?"
"He asked what we were hiding," Katherine confesses, "But I swear I didn't tell him anything!" He sighs.
"Dammit Katherine. Let's go home and brush your teeth and I will walk you through where you screwed up and… Did I mention brush your teeth because that one's very important," Damon teases her. She nods. Damon grabs the food and they both head to the Salvatore Boarding House.
Author's Note: So Stefan thinks there's something going on between Damon and Katherine... do you guys think he has a right to be upset? Will Caroline talk Stefan down or rile him up further? Will they make up? Will he learn to start trusting Katherine? Find out in the next chapter :).
