Chapter 3
Out with the old and in with the new

It was Monday afternoon around 3:45pm and we see Daisuke, Yolie and Ken walking out of their school while Cody waited for them outside the school gates. His part of the school lets out 30 minutes sooner than theirs. They meet up with Cody and start to walk to their new jobs as uncovered first responders to digimon threats. As they walk to the building in the city, they come across the DD, with a blacked eye and bruised up face T.K whose right eye was still swollen while the red eye was red bloodshot. Daisuke's anger began to rise with the memory of Friday still fresh in his mind.
Kari saw the younger "DD" and slowly made her way to them, but was stopped by Sora telling her maybe now wasn't the best time. Kari liked Sora confused and asked Sora why. Sora just pointed to the glaring Daisuke and defencive Yolile both looking ready to pounce into a fight if the wrong things were said by the older the weekend Daisuke told Yolie what T.K had said to Ken and that set Yolie off. It took Ken a bunch of convincing and promises of going out to Yolie favorite restaurant. Yolie tho mad happily accepted the offer. T.K with his one good eye saw Daisuke and his group and glared back at Daisuke which caught Tai's attention and looked to see what T.K was glaring at.
Tai saw T.K was glaring at Daisuke and his team, but mostly Daisuke. Matt was currently asking his little brother what has happened to him. Daisuke and his team walked past them with caution. The question caught the attention of everyone when they saw T.K for the first time all day. Daisuke laughed at T.K and this made everyone except his team turn to him. Daisuke spoke up and told them that it was him that kicked his ass and that he deserved it and more but he's lucky that Ken pushed him off and told him not to beat him up anymore. This had everyone shocked, while Sora and Tai looked at Matt who was now seeing nothing but red.
Before anything else could happen Yolie goes up and slaps T.K in his already bruised up face. This shocked everyone before anyone could say anything Yolie spoke, and I quote " Ken you're still the same evil person, you keep hurting people, you will never change, you will always be the Digimon emperor. I just wish the fake we killed was you." end quote. This had everyone in complete shock. Kari asked Yolie who would say such a thing. Daisuke spoke up this time and said it was T.K. Everyone was disgusted with T.K words, not ever Matt was mad at the beating T.K had gotten.
Then what shocked everyone was Daisuke fist flying towards Tai face, making contact, sending Tai flying. Everyone just stood there thinking the same question, Why? Daisuke glared at them, daring any of them to step up and to throw hands but none did. Daisuke spoke up " That was for cheering when you destroyed Imperialdramon and still not remembering or caring about Ken Yolie Cody or me." This had everyone yet again asking what's wrong with them, but this hit Joe and Mimi the hardest since they were the ones that ended the digimon. Kari walked up and got on her knees and broke down in front of them crying asking for forgiveness.
What Daisuke did shocked everyone, Daisuke called his team and told them that they were already late for their first day, so they had to go. Daisuke passed the broken Kari and didn't even give her a glance. Sora went to the Kari side who was now crying harder, but before the tamers left Daisuke stopped and told Kari, "We took a vote last night Kari and Sora you two tried the hardest to fix this mess. So we even if we don't trust you anymore. We do forgive you." This made Sora and Kari look back at the tamers and have both of them break down, because they had taken the first step to fixing the broken friendship.
The tamers got to the DATs building, the secretary greeted them and then gave each of them each an ID badge for the building and from now on to have them with them or else they won't have access to a certain floor that they need to be able to go to. They gave her a smile and a thanks and asked what floor the Commander needed them in. She told them that he wanted them to go to the 2nd floor, that there will be a set of uniforms waiting for them in the locker that were sent to them through email and then to go to the 6th floor. They thanked her again and went to the 2nd floor, they saw that there was a men locker room and a woman locker room.
They go in and change about 15 minutes later they come out in DATs uniforms. Yolie uniform is deep red with a silver belt and a white with blue jacket on it with white and blue boots. Ken's uniform is black with the same belt and same jacket. Cody's uniform is yellow with the same other things. Daisuke's uniform is blue with the other features that come. Yolie was the first to come out and was waiting for the boys to come out. A few minutes later the boys came out and they all headed to the elevator and went on to the 6th floor.
The elevator reached the 6th floor and the elevator door opened. The tamers were shocked at what they saw, equipment and technology that they have never seen or heard off. The Commander was there to greet them. The commander spoke and welcomed them to DATs science and research department, saying that if they ever needed something or needed to know something that this department was there to assist them. The tamers nodded then asked the commander who was in charge of the department, this made the commander smile a bit.
Before the commander a voice from the back of the room was heard saying " That would be me young tamers.". Daisuke and the others know that voice, they all turn to see in the back walking to the front it was Gennai. This made the tamers a bit worried. Gennai can tell this much. Gennai told them not to worry that he would not abandon them like the DD did, as well as the only reason he didn't help them was cause King_Drasil cut off all his connection to the real world to contact the DD and that it was danguesos to move in the Digital world at that time since their was his evil twin running a muk. The Tamers took a second to think things through and agreed to work with Gennai.
The Commander coughed lightly to get everyone attention. The Commander said now with all of the sorted, its time to get to the main reasons you're here on this Commander looked at Gennai, and he nodded. Gennai then told them to follow him to a machine. When they got there Gennai said First thing first, and opened a door to let out 4 happy digimon, who were happy to see their partners. Veemon, hawkmon, wormmon and Armadillomon rushed to their partners and were met with hugs and pats on the heads. The Commander and Gennai smiled at the small reunion.
It was Gennai this time who got the tamer's attention. Gennai asked if the tamer brought their digivices with them, The tamers stood up and all nodded. Gennai asked them to take them out and then grabbed a metal suitcase and told them if they could each put them inside . Gennai assured them that they would get them back after he had to do it. The Commander saw the hesitation in their eyes. The Commander then steps up and tells them when a higher ranked officer gives you an order you follow that officer orders no question asked in a loud and stiric voice. The tamers nodded with all hesitation gone and put their digivice in the case.
Gennai closed the case and put it in a machine, and then turned it on. The case turns into data, leaving only the 4 digivice. Gennai then put in 4 orbs into tubs that were connected to the machine as the orbs went down and now hovered over the tamers Digivice. Gennai started to explain, young tamers we all know that Digimon digivolve to gain strength for harder and rough battles, But digimon aren't the only thing that Digivolve. This got the tamers a bit confused. Gennai continued, humans also evolve they learn and adopt when they need to, yes some evolution isn't ideal, but it's the ideal evolutions of bonds that help humans evolve in the right direction.
Gennai then told the 4 tamers to step forward and to step on the platform, they did as they were told. The Commander then spoke up, You took the challenge of trying to save the world from wild Digimon who somehow get into our world and cause trouble, I know this is gonna be a lot to handle but from everyone in DATs and from the UN, we thank you for choosing this path.
As the commander finished his speech the platforms light up and a beam hits the 4 tamers, as this was going on the orbs started to rotate and the digivice like their owners started to light up. The beam of light then shot into the tub along with their D-terminals and into the orbs. As the orbs started to suck the energy from the tamers beaming light started to die down. The tamers were fine and just looked a bit tired. The bright light got the attention of everyone in the room. The orbs had finished taking in the energy and slowly started to descend and each orb was absorbed by the Digivice.
When the Digivices finished absorbing the orbs, they continued to glow and then two beams of light were shot out of the glowing digivices. Hitting both tamers and Digimon. The light re-engaged the tamers and the light that hit the digimon made them feel stronger. This feeling they felt was amazing. This turn of events shocked the commander and Gennai both. When the light finally started dying out the Digivice had one more trick for them all. The Digivives started to change shape and transform. When the transformation was done the light faded away leaving it left 4 brand new digivices.
The commander stepped up and got between the tamers and their new Digivice. The commander spoke, "Tamers thoughts are your new device, they are your personal terminal or PET (megaman Advance pet) for shorter." Then Gennai stepped in " We'd like to run some tests on all three of you", confused faces on the tamers. Gennai continued " All 3 of you as in your Digimon, your Digivices and you." They all gave an O face to Gennai. Gennai just looked at the commander and asked permission to start the testing with a darkish and somewhat frightening look.
The commander nodded and said permission was granted, putting them all through the ringer." Gennai smiled and said yes sir. Both tamers and Digimon know it was gonna be a very long day. As Gennai called from some of the assistants to get them all ready for the test. He wondered what became of the Digi eggs. Since they too were absorbed with the D-terminals. Gennai thought Ah yes, lots of tests and discoveries to make from both humans, Digimon and their new devices.
