Chapter 4
First Mission and New Power

It's been a few days since testing has started, and the tamers can be seen leaving the DATs building exhausted, it was now 7am in the morning and right now. They had to head to school with little to no sleep. The tamers all went to the cafe that was close to the DATs building to get something to drink to keep them awake thru the day. Lucky today school had a special event which made today's school a half day. So from 7am to 12pm they had school and from 12 to 4 they had free to sleep and rest, and they had to be back at DATs at 5pm.
As they got to school they talked about their schedule with school and DATs. They're also happy that DATs had given them actual DATs badges approved by the Japan Government. So in case of emergencies they can show the school and police officers to show they work in a branch of the government. They entered school and said their later to Cody who had to go around to get to the middle school area of the school.
The day went by to slow for the tamers. Going to school with only a few hours of sleep really sucks, especially with the testing they kept doing. Both medical, physical, and mental testing. Gennai told them they needed data of the tamers when they were at their best and at the lowest. Ken and Yolie who had differentes classes said their later to Daisuke. Daisuke went to his homeroom class. Daisuke went to his homeroom class and sat down on his seat and laid his head down and sighed. Daisuke just closed his eyes hoping to get whatever type of sleep he can get. Not even 5 minutes later his slumber oh so he thought, was ruined by a hand slamming on his desk.
Daisuke eyes shot open and he sighed as he raised his head he see his teacher, Daisuke looked around confused seeing other students that weren't there in a few minutes ago, looks at the clock and see that its been been not 5 minutes as he thought it was 45 mins and class has started. Daisuke looked at his teacher and apologized. The teacher nodded and started his lesson. Daisuke managed to keep his eyes open for a majority of his classes. Daisuke was thankful on short days they didn't get homework, so for study hall he got to sleep for a bit. As the final bell ranged Daisuke got up and went to the front gate, where he found a sleeping Cody sitting by the gate,
Ken and Yolie can be seen dragging their legs from the School entrance to the school gate. Daisuke told his team to start walking to the DATs building and that they would use the rest floor to catch their sleep there since it was closer than their home. They agreed and Daisuke then got down and picked up Cody and put his forearm under his thighs and picked him up, letting Cody headrest on his shoulder. Yolie chuckled and said aw you two look so cute, much to Daisuke annoyances, Ken just chuckled and looked at Daisuke smiling and thinking with a bit more maturing and growing up, by the looks of this you'll be a great dad one day.
They got walking and Daisuke was getting stares from both adults and teens their age, but he just ignored them and continued walking to the DATs building with Ken and Yolie behind him enjoying the show. Which is only annoying Daisuke to no end. One girl stopped Ken and Yolie which Daisuke didn't notice, and gave Ken and Yolie her number to give to Daisuke. Yolie happily accepted the number before Ken could have said anything and then Yolie ran to catch up to Daisuke, Ken just sighed and knew this wasn't gonna end well.
They finally reached the Dats building and they signed in at the front desk and then headed to the elevator which they took to the 3rd floor which had some rooms for DATs employees to use to rest when they were in full emergency or too tired to make it home safety. Yolie and Cody got their own room while Ken and Daisuke agreed to share so they don't take up an unnecessary room. Yolie walked into her room and made a Beeline to the bed and crashed on her bed, already having set her phone on the stand with the alarm clock set. Daisuke set Cody down on his bed and set the alarm that was on the stand, trunking Cody in. Daisuke left and closed Cody's door, then headed to his room. Daisuke entered his room seeing Ken already sleeping on his bed, Daisuke sat down on the other bed, set his phone down and then layed down and let sleep finally take over.
The tamers phones and Cody alarm went off at 4:20pm. They got up and made their way out of the rooms and met up by the elevator and took it to the 2nd floor to get ready for work. They got ready and were in the briefing room on the 4th floor. The Commander came in with Gennai. The tamer got up and saluted their Commander and Gennai. The Commander signaled them to sit down. The Commander then started to brief them on their schedule for today. After they were done The Commander told them to follow Gennai to the 6th floor.
The tamers followed Gennai to the 6th floor. When they arrived they saw a metal briefcase on Gennai desk with 3 metal tins next to the briefcase. The tamers stood in front of Gennai's desk, while Gennai walked behind his desk. Gennai opened the metal case and revealed their P.E.T. Gennai then called Yolie to get her apple red P.E.T , next was Cody, he picked up his mustard yellow P.E.T. Cody thanks Gennai, and Gennai asks Ken to step up next and he grabs his midnight black P.E.T , and finally Daisuke. He steps up and he grabs his dark blue P.E.T . They put them on their holster
Gennai then explained that this form of the digivices were the strongest he's ever seen so far. He also explained that with this version of the digivice they have has deeped their bonds and connected to their Digimon. When asked what he meant by the tamers, all Gennai said was that they'd find out as time continued. Then Gennai opened the tins to reveal chips. When asked what they were. Gennai answered that these are their way to help their digimon in battle with those battle chips.
Gennai went into detail on how the battle chips worked as well as what the open slot on the top of their PET were. Gennai explained that the slot takes the battle chip and downloads them and then uploads them to their digimon for power ups, weapons and digivolutions. Which impressed the tamers, but that's when Ken asked what he meant by digivolutions. That's when confused Yolie about what he was talking about. Ken says usually when talking about digivolution its singular. This caughts everyone's attention and then looks back at Gennai. Gennai just did his kinda smile at the tamers and told them to look and pointed to the chips.
The tamers looked at the chips and Daisuke noticed that the first 9 battle chips had the digi-eggs on the chips. Daisuke asked what was going on. That when Gennai started to explain that Izzy or any of the other DD or themselves had looked and or properly researched the D-terminal, from besides messaging and using the digi-egg that they already had. Gennai explained to them that if they had taken the time to actually properly research their D-terminals they would have discovered that it actually had a link trade system that let them switch and trade digi-egg with each other, which would have led to newer digivolutions. This news shocked the tamers
Gennai continued to explain that with the new PET and the battle chips they now have access to those new digivolutions. The tamer looked at their tins and asked why they had 8 while Daisuke had 9. Gennai told them that he wasn't able to copy the digi-egg of miracles no matter what type of program or codes he used. The digi-egg of miracles was exclusive to Daisuke only. Daisuke looked at the digi-egg of miracle chip. Finally feeling like a missing piece of him and veemon was finally found. While looking at the chip Yolie looked around searching for their digimon. She asked Gennai where they were when she got her answer when she heard hawkmon from the PET in their holster.
This scared Yolie about but was calmed when Gennai told them that they can store and recall their digimon to and from their PET. Gennai then spent another few moments explaining that their digimon can send messages to each other or anyone like the D-terminal and make facetime calls as well act like walkie talkies, when they are in stealth or needed to be in contact, as well as some other basic uses. He also explained that if can digimon attacked through the cyber dimension/internet (like in the digimon movie our war game) that with the PET, they can send their digimon to intercept and fight them. The new features from the PET amazed the tamers.
Gennai then told them to grab their tins with the battle chips and go to the briefing room and to get to know and memorize their chips. That there is an instruction menu already set up for them about their PET and battle chips in the briefing room waiting for them each with their names on them. Explaining that since each digimon is different that their chip won't all be the same. They went to the 4th floor and into the briefing room to wait there until further instructions were given. The tamers sat there reading their PET and their battle chips instructions. It was now 9pm when suddenly the DATs alarm went off and over the speaker "TAMERS TO THE COMMAND ROOM ON FLOOR 5, I REPEAT TAMERS TO THE COMMAND ROOM ON FLOOR 5".
The tamers rushed to the elevator that was in the briefing room and went up to the 5th floor. A few moments later they were in the command room. What they saw was amazing. The commander in this seat behind the desk monitoring the floor. DATs employees working monitoring the situation, one of the DATs tell The commander that the digimon will appear in 5 minutes in Odaiba japan high school. The commander orders the tamers to go to the DATs garage and to take the DATs employee car.
Yolie tells the commander that they don't know how to drive. Daisuke steps up and tells Yolie that he does and that they have their orders. The tamers rushed to the elevator and took it to the underground garage and took the car that was ready for them. Daisuke unlocks the door to the car and they all get in. Daisuke in the driver seat while Ken in the passenger, which means that a very pouty and upset Yolie was with Cody in the backseat. Daisuke started the car and put it in drive, Ken turned on the siren. Daisuke then speeds off to their high school. As they arrive, Daisuke quickly's parks the car and the tamers get out of the car and quickies go inside the school.
As they enter the school they see a portal open up and a digimon going through. The tamers take out their PET and reload their partners into the real world, each digimon in their fighting stance, ready for anything. As the portal starts to close, a digimon is seen forming. The digimon laughed evilly " at least I have arrived in the human world" Icedevimon saids, stretching his wings and looking around to spot the tamer. Icedevimon wasn't that impressed.
Daisuke opens his PET and leads his first chip in " Speed boost and enhance strength battle chip in download". A blue aura bursts out of Veemon and suddenly he disappears and reappears in Icedevimon gut, sending Icedevimon to the sports storage shack. Ken, Yolie and Cody were shocked at the sudden increase of speed. Daisuke then told them to stand down and observe for now. The tamer nodded and listened to their leader, they observed the battle.
Icedevimon got up from the rubble that was the sports shack. A bit shocked at what just happened. Looking at the rookie level digimon is a bit surprising. Icedevimon then smiles creepily and slowly chuckles. Icedevimon spreads his wings and launches an attack " Avalanche" Shooting out ice shards from his wings. Veemon looks at the oncoming attack and Daisuke was ready with another battle chip " Brave shield battle chips in download" just as the attack was gonna land. Wargreymon's brave shield formed and protected Veemon from harm. Icedevimon growled in frustration, as he saw his attacks not damaging his opponent. Icedevimon stops his attack and the brave shield disappears.
As the shield disappeared, Veemon was missing, Icedevimon thinking that he may actually have killed the rookie and let down his guard . Starting to laugh but suddenly stop when he heard " V sword battle chip in download" and Veemon reappeared with the blue aura still around him while holding a blue and white sword, Veemon slashes and decapitate Icedevimon head from his shoulders. Icedevimon's head falls from his shoulders onto the floor. Suddenly bloody like data came bursting out of Icedevimon. The sight of the data like blood and the sight of Icedevimon's head being sliced clean off made Cody and Yolie pale as a ghost.
Yolie turned and ran towards a trash can and threw up into it. Ken stood still in utter shock. Suddenly Icedevimon burst into data and started to reform into a digi-egg. Daisuke waited until the egg was properly reformed and then walked up to it and picked it up. Then grabs his PET and contacts HQ. HQ answers and Daisuke tells them in a voice that sends chills through everyone's spin except the Commander. Daisuke " target eliminated and digi-egg captured. Returning to HQ with the target."
I hope everyone likes this chapter. I wanted to get this chapter out on christmas but couldn't. I'm sorry for the delay, Christmas shopping really set this chapter back more than I wanted it to.
