Boyle's Hunch
Sir, fun but not too fun was my campaign slogan when I ran for prom queen.
"You ran for prom queen?" Gina stares at her.
"Yes", Amy says defensively. "I… I didn't win, but I still ran".
If she was being honest, she didn't even want to run for prom queen. But being the only girl with seven brothers, she felt the pressure. She wanted to make it to the mantle, even if it was in her prom dress.
There was an awkward silence, before Gina spoke again.
"Have you told Jake?"
"What?"
"He'd like that". Gina offers her a rare smile and Amy stares back, unsure how to react. "He always wanted to date the prom queen".
