Welcome Home Elliot

Chapter 1: The reunion

Set after the whole Lewis thing. This is the beginning of what should happen in season 22.

It was summertime in New York. The humidity was intense. There was garbage on the sidewalk that you could smell for miles. A woman with blonde hair in her late 20s was talking on the phone while walking to the subway to go to work. Then all the sudden, she was attacked from behind.

Olivia was in her apartment with Noah making breakfast and packing his lunch for school. She could not believe he was 10 already. She felt like it was just yesterday she signed the adoption papers and she took him home.

She dropped him off at school and made her way into work. Once there, she saw the gang sitting around drinking coffee and talking to each other. Amanda was talking to Carisi and Fin, probably swapping over the weekend plans. She had been taking her daughters, Jesse and Billie to Central Park Zoo. Fin had been catching up with Ken and his nephew.

Since the whole Lewis thing, Olivia had been going to therapy for 7 and a half years now, but she's been going less and less although she hasn't been getting those damn nightmares. She gets pulled out of her thoughts when Amanda knocks on the door lightly.

"We have a case. A woman was attacked by the subway about an hour ago."

Arriving at the crime scene, there was caution tape around the perimeter and Melinda was down by the body examining the bruises and marks.

"What do you got?"

"He did a number on her. Bruises and marks all over her body. Some are deep. She did try to fight back. Hopefully, I can get something off her fingernails. Her pants and underwear were torn. No ID but we did find her wallet. It has cash in it but her credit card seems to be missing."

Amanda and Fin go around asking anyone if they had seen anything. Most said no and one person said he was wearing what looked like new shoes, a baseball cap, jeans, and a red hoodle. He was medium size, mid 30s, and white.

After they processed the crime scene, they packed up and headed back to the precinct. The teach team went through her phone or what was left of it to see where she had been in the last 72 hours. After they ID her, Olivia sent Amanda and Fin to go notify her parents and to the places where she had been at. One was a restaurant. The owner remembered seeing her there, but she was alone and did not see anyone looking suspicious.

Amanda and Fin went to a few more places where the vic was seen. The owner of one of those places seen the woman sitting at a table and it looked like a guy was spying on her. So, he gave them a copy of the security tape and they went to view it back at the precinct. Of course, there was the guy who wore the red hoodle and jeans with the baseball cap on. So, they run his face through facial recognition, and they got a hit.

"David Winters. Mid 30s. Owner of a strip joint in Queens."

They check his confidential and his bank statements. Amanda look at her computer.

"Whoa, he has a half of million in his bank account."

Amanda and Fin go to the strip club. A woman in her early 30s approaches them "How may I help you?"

"Det. Rollins and Fin here. We would like a word with the owner David."

"He's in his office in back."

They walk to the back of the club when they hear a noise coming from the closed door to the left. They waited a few seconds and then Fin kicked the door in to find the owner in a very compromising position with what looked like a minor.

Fin goes and throws his pants at him, "You're under arrest."

Amanda tells the girl to get dressed as well and to come with them. They get back to the precinct and they start asking the girls questions about how she met David.

"I met him on the corner with some girls. He told us he would take care of us if we went with him. He'd buy us anything we want."

"What were the girls names?"

She writes the name of the girls down and Fin goes to track them down. Then Olivia goes to see Carisi to get a search warrant to search David 's condo. On her way there, in the hallway she hears someone talking. Her heart stops.

"Could it be him?"

It has been 9 years since she had last seen him. When Cragen told her, he had put in his papers she felt like the wind got knocked out of her and she could not breathe. She told him that she was fine, but he read her like a book. She went into an interrogation room, she shut the door, and she let herself cry. Her heart was broken. She lost her partner, her best friend. He knew more about her then anyone else. She rounds the corner and her breath hitches as she sees him.

"El?"

Elliot was talking to one of his employees in the hall about the current case they were working on. It was a hate crime and they have not caught whoever done the crime yet. He has only started like a week ago, but he was catching up quick. He was the head person of the group just like his old boss.

Since he has started the job, every time he steps in the building it always reminded him of her. It has been 9 years since the last time he had seen her. He remembers that day in the squad room when the shooting happened. It all happened so fast. He had to do something before Jenna accidentally shot her. After that happened, he was in a very dark place that he thought Olivia did not deserve to be in.

About a month of him moping around the house, Kathy dragged him to a therapist. The first few weeks he did not talk much but over time he did. Sometime after that, him and Kathy decided it was best to get a divorce. The kids were grown. Little El was now a teenager; Maureen was engaged to a man name David. Kathleen had just finished collage and was now helping people. The twins, Elizabeth and Dickie were in collage.

He knew that she was still working there. It was just a matter of time before they bumped into each other. He started to walk back to his squad room when he heard someone call his name. It was her.

He turned around and there she was. Standing there right before his eyes. His breath caught in his throat at how beautiful she was. She has aged well.

"Liv?"
