In the middle of a vast, dark library, a mysterious figure dressed in black weaved through the shelves of dusty, old books. He dodged and disabled all the security cameras he could until he reached the center of the library. You may not see it, but the figure was smiling under his mask as he finally found what he came for. A lone pedestal stood there, a large black book entitled 'Terrors of the Tooniverse' in blood red and bright green letters was contained in a glass container.

"This is a cake walk." He chuckled, casually walking up to the pedestal.

Unfortunately for him, he tripped a laser, causing the alarm bells to wail. Berating himself for is cockiness, the thief elbowed the glass. He then fished the book out before hightailing it to the nearest window. He crashed through the glass and landed face first on the stone lion statue.

"Ow." He moaned as he peeled his face from it.

In the distance, he could see red and blue flashes of light accompanied by the wailing of police sirens. He quickly got his bearings together before putting the book in his bag and making a run for it into the nearby woods. The thief ran as fast a his legs could carry him, swatting leaves and branches out of the way. Behind him, lights illuminated the are, the sirens neared, and police were gaining on him. In his haste, he failed to notice a branch tearing the bag's strap just as he jumped over a stream.

There, the book flowed down the stream.

After several hours of floating along the water, it snagged a hook and was quickly reeled up by a fisherman.

"Aww." He groaned in disappointment.

Figuring he might as well see what's in it, he opened it up and was surprised and intrigued when he found the black book.

"What the...?" He gawked.

Curious, the man opened the cover...
