It is my pleasure to introduce our first writer. Sometimes, we just want an immediate laugh, or maybe an immediate therapeutic crying session. Either way, one-shots are the way to go in that case. As short as a one-shot is, it can sometimes be much harder to make a reader really feel a desired emotion than you might think. But our next writer can do it with the best. Without further ado, I present to you...

The one…

The only…

Your kfp weeb!

~~a/n; hai! so this is my first entry to the collab that I still hope is open! (It is) This is a modern AU in a setting where Po and Tigress are already a couple and have adopted a son together! It doesn't really make much sense (does a talking panda doing kung-fu make sense? Apparently someone at Dreamworks thinks so) and it's totally random, but this was just a little cute thing that popped into my head! I hope you enjoy the one-shot! (You will)

Warning: I, of course, hold no credit under kung fu panda (as if I would ever be that successful pff-)

We now present to you...

Your kfp weeb's "He Feels Beautiful!"

In a buzzing small town, known as the modern yet homely Valley Of Peace, in a corner of a street, lies a modest apartment building standing tall in its ground. And on the fifth level, in the door that labels 507, holds a small family of three preparing for an event of an old friend's birthday.

In the small bathroom inside the master bedroom, stands a beautiful and youthful tigress, already dressed in a humble blue sparkling dress for the formal affair. She, along with her long-term partner and husband and her six-year-old adopted son, are attending a birthday party of her and her husband's good friend, Viper, who insisted that Tigress dress up. Despite Tigress' annoyance, she obliged, with a silent huff as she carefully applied eyeliner right over her eyelid.

Whilst in her own little world, she sees from the corner of her eye the bathroom door open from the mirror. Blushing in a bit of embarrassment, she whips her head towards the door, "Po, must you forget to knock while I'm—"

She pauses mid-rant when she realizes that the panda had an unfamiliar smile whilst holding a shy, winter-white fur-coated wolf cub in his grasp.

She darts her eyes between the two most important boys in her life in question and with a little bit of concern, she asked, "What's wrong? Did you do something?" She pointed her eyeliner accusingly at her husband, who gave her a deadpan expression in return, "Why do you always assume I did something wrong?"

Tigress gives the panda a smirk and crosses her arms in amusement, "You're seriously asking me that?"

Po huffed, his cute pout spreading Tigress' smirk to a full loving smile. He rolls his eyes and looks to the boy who's burying his face against his broad shoulders to hide his shy expression, "Our son here... wants us to wear your make-up for the party, is that okay?"

Tigress felt everything within her freeze in place, her smile completely replaced with a puzzled look. Their little boy wants to put on... make-up? She glances at her limited make-up supplies, and then back at the two boys.

"Uh..."

She had to admit, in all her time of her and Po adopting this pup, she did not expect this to come out of motherhood. She did remember one of the caregivers at the orphanage saying something about this boy being a bit... different from the other boys. Though personally, Tigress thought it was just cruel so she never really thought about it, now... she just didn't know how to react.

Nanxing. The very name of the cub. Chinese for masculine. Even that name itself screamed gender stereotypes, she should have known. Sure, she would have been fine with putting make-up on the boy if they wanted to, but she would think it was for a home activity, they were all going out together to a party, filled with her friend's friends that were always... judgmental. How would they react? What would they think?

Tigress seemed to have been lost in thought as her son finally called out to her, "Mommy?"

She immediately looked up from the ever so interesting ground right at Nanxing, who, though was still nervous to talk to her, seemed also intrigued by the eyeliner she held in her paw. She gave her husband a final glance and only saw that kind, comforting smile of his as he gave a slight shrug.

She once again darted her eyes between the boys and noticed her cub's hunched over and distant demeanor. And suddenly everything clicked in her head; this was what he always wanted. That's why he was considered "different" from the other boys. And goodness knows how many times poor Nanxing was told he wasn't allowed to wear a simple coat of face paint just because of his gender. Heck, the orphanage probably took one look at him and suddenly called him masculine just because he was a wolf. Soon enough, the judgment of others wasn't a worry to Tigress anymore. In fact, she never did have to worry. That's her son, and his happiness is her priority now. So instead of asking any questions, she just smiled and lifted up her paw with the eyeliner along with picking up a brush from the bathroom counter, "Alright, let's get you all primmed up."

She could have sworn her son lit up so quickly it was like a spark of life extracted from him. For the first time she's seen him today, Nanxing beamed in excitement and clapped his hands happily. She may have not had a lot of experience with kids but this was probably the happiest she's seen a six-year-old when it came to make-up.

Wriggling in place, eager to get started, Po chuckled and set the little boy down, "Y'know, I'd like to try on that new lipstick you got!" He jokingly says to his wife, making the boy even more excited about this current activity, unaware of the two adults conversing.

"My, my, Po, if you really just wanted me to leave lipstick marks on you, you could have just asked. Looks like the innocent panda I knew wasn't as innocent as I thought." She jokes back, setting the wolf cub on the counter and smirking at the monochromatic bear, who just laughed wholeheartedly, "Come on, Ti, you know what I mean."

"Do I?" She teased, before gasping at the feel of Po's lips against her ear, "If you don't quit it with the teasing, I'll be sure to ruin your make-up after we put Nanxing to bed tonight."

Though tempting to hear, she quickly pulled up the powder brush and poofed it on her husband's face to remind him that right now might not be the best time for having these kinds of conversations, "Well you're just gonna have to wait for your turn then!" She sputtered a little with her cheeks turning red, to which Po just laughed and kissed her cheek and watched on in fondness as the feline gently raised her son's face in a certain position.

"Okay, Nanxing, I'm gonna need you to stay super still for mommy so I don't mess up your make-up, can you do that?" She asked with that motherly sweetness she only used for her cub, who obediently nodded, "Okay, mommy!"

She smiled sweetly, and dabbed the brush in the blush powder, "Then let's get started."

After around fifteen minutes of goofing off and thirteen make-up wipes later, the whole three of them were prepped up for the party. Tigress looked at the two boys ogling at themselves in the mirror with pride simmering in her chest. She had to admit; even though she wasn't a fan of the "feminine" lifestyle, she did a pretty good damn job on her boys.

Po looked in the mirror with stars in his eyes as he examined himself, "Did you ever think of taking a second career as a make-up guru?"

"Absolutely not." Tigress grinned, trying to keep her composure as her husband actually looked even more attractive with the purple hue on his face. "Did I ever mention how good you look in purple?"

Po looked over his shoulder and quirked up an amused eyebrow before winking flirtatiously at her, "Oh, now look who's tryna get me to leave lipstick marks on you. Also, duh, I consist of black and white, I look good in anything!"

All Tigress did was roll her eyes, she knew this would've made the panda a bit too confident, so she playfully booped his nose to humble him, "Don't get too cocky."

Po smirked, "Fine, I'll save that for later.."

The feline's eyes snapped wide open before she elbowed the panda in the gut, "Po!"

He just laughed out loud, both at how ticklish her attack was against his belly and his wife's reaction, "I'm kidding!"

Tigress simply gruffed before turning her attention to Nanxing, who was still fascinated by his reflection as he couldn't force his eyes away. He definitely felt different. Tigress tilted her head to the side in curiosity, before finally having the courage to ask, "So? What do you think? Do you like it, Nanxing?"

The wolf cub turned to his parents with the biggest smile they've both ever seen before he stood on the counter he sat upon and jumped happily, "I LOOK JUST LIKE A PRINCESS!"

The two parents smiled before Po laughed and gently picked his son off the counter before he could fall, "Yes you do! You look so beautiful, Xing-Xing!" He held the tiny cub in his big arms, who was still looking at the mirror's reflection in content, his cute tail wagging side-to-side to show his pure joy.

"I feel beautiful."

Those three words as Nanxing caressed his own face were enough to literally bring the sensitive panda to his knees and almost break down in tears. Po held the young and now confused boy close in a squeezing hug and sob comedically, making Tigress chuff and chuckle before taking another make-up wipe and wiping away the bear's tears along with his purple eyeshadow and mascara, "There there, Po. No need to cry, now you've ruined your make-up," She bemused, the tearful panda looking at her and sniffling, "I-I love him, Ti!"

Tigress only pat Po's head in comfort, "Shh shh, I know, it's okay."

"Uh... mommy? Why is daddy crying?" The poor cub wheezed as he felt himself get crushed in the panda's embrace. Tigress only kissed Nanxing's head.

"Daddy is just having a bit of a breakdown from cuteness overload, don't worry about him." She grinned as Po continued to sob.

"Oh..."

There was a comfortable family silence between the three of them until Nanxing spoke up again.

"Well... can he let go of me still? We're gonna be late to Aunty Viper's party and I kinda can't breathe."

The couple bursted out in laughter as Po finally obliged and let go.

Your kfp weeb didn't leave an author's note, so I'll leave one for her :)

First of all, everyone needs to clap your hands right now, because this writer was the first to support this project. Actually, she was also one of the writers who inspired my own writings. Without her, this wouldn't be happening. (Well, I guess that's an exaggeration. Someone else might have come up with the idea. Still, though…) You are clapping, right?

Me right now- visible happiness :) Seriously though, you gotta be happy for Nanxing. Oh, so I guess the "cocky" reference is a thing now. Okay then…

Well, you wanted instant happiness from a one-shot? Because this puts the "whole" in wholesome.

Please, if you liked this one-shot and would like to leave your thoughts, please make sure to address your review to your kfp weeb. I hope you'll be around next week for our next writer. Have a nice day/night.
