Hello, my faithful readers. I know this is a bit overdue, but this chapter is to honor the young man who brought Carlos to life: Cameron Boyce.
On the Isle, Cruella and Maleficent were hatching a devious plot together against Cruella's own flesh and blood: Her son.
"Are you certain this will work, Cruella?" Maleficent asked.
"Absolutely, darling." Cruella said.
Maleficent nodded then used her magic to create a werewolf like creature with glowing red eyes.
"I am Wolfsbane!" The monster said then knelt before Maleficent. "How may I serve you, Maleficent?"
"Use your special power against the Red Ranger, Cruella's son, then return for further instruction." The Evil Fairy said.
"As you command." Wolfsbane said then Maleficent opened a portal and he went through it while Cruella just cackled.
In Auradon City, the VK Defender Rangers, along with some of their AK teammates, were fighting the Dark Rangers, Mal was fighting Uma one on one, Jay and Ben were tag teaming Harry, Evie was battling Ginny and Vickie, the Facilier Twins we're battling Zevon and Clay, Lonnie was fighting Khai Yu, Jane, Chad, and Dizzy were battling Gaston Jr and Gaston the Third, Audrey and Carlos were battling CJ, and Shari was battling Mad Maddy.
Mal and Uma were in their Battlized mode, with Mal using her Feather Sword to block Uma's Megalo Saber.
"Still mad I kicked your tentacles in that sword fight?" Mal taunted.
"Well, I'll get even by wiping the floor with that dragon tail of yours." Uma retorted as they kept clashing blades with each other.
Lonnie held Khai Yu against a wall. "What's the great Pterodactyl Ranger gonna do now?" She smirked.
"How about this, Tiger Ranger?" Khai Yu said then kicked Lonnie back with her foot before they fought hand to hand.
As the two teams fought, Maleficent's portal opened and Wolfsbane jumped out. He quickly spotted Carlos and drew twin sickles and charged at him. Carlos noticed and began to fight him.
"Doug, are you and the others seeing this guy?" Carlos asked before he did a backflip.
"Yeah, we are. Mal, he's got an energy around him that matches your mother's magic." Doug said.
"Great." Mal groaned as Wolfsbane shot red beams from his eyes at Carlos, who collapsed and demorphed. "Doug, you and Ruby burn rubber and get here fast to help deal with this werewolf."
"On our way." Doug said.
"John, Shari, and Lonnie, keep him away from Carlos." Mal said.
"Right." Shari said.
"Copy." Lonnie said.
"On it, boss." John said then the three broke off to fight Wolfsbane. Khai Yu and Mad Maddy went to help CJ.
Doug and Ruby arrived and joined their fellow wild cat themed teammates in fighting Wolfsbane.
"Man, this guy takes dog breath to a whole new level." John said.
"Got that right." Shari said.
"My name is Wolfsbane. I'm worse than a dog." Wolfsbane said.
"So far, you're all bark and no bite!" Lonnie said.
"Then let's get him put on a leash." Ruby said.
"Sounds like a plan." Doug said as they kept fighting until Wolfsbane jumped back through Maleficent's portal while Mad Maddy made a portal for her and her fellow Dark Rangers to escape through.
"Let's get Carlos back to the lab. I wanna know what Wolfsbane hit him with." Mal said.
The others nodded then got Carlos back to the lab.
Once there, Doug looked at their unconscious teammate's vitals, but found nothing out of the ordinary while the others took their helmets off.
"Whatever Wolfsbane's attack did looks like it didn't do anything severe to Carlos. We won't know the full extent of the effects until he wakes up." The Orange Ranger said as he took off his helmet.
Mal nodded as Carlos started to stir, drawing the others' attention.
"You okay, bro?" Jay asked.
"I don't feel any different." Carlos said. That opinion quickly changed when he saw his Zord. He then screamed and hid from it.
Dude slowly walked to Carlos. "You okay?" He asked.
"Aah! Another dog!" Carlos screamed.
"Dude, come here." Evie said. Dude walked over to Evie and she picked him up.
"Wolfsbane must've made Carlos afraid of dogs again." Jane said.
The VKs looked mad.
Wolfsbane returned to the Isle and knelt before Maleficent. "It is done. What shall I do next?"
"Return and use your power on all of Auradon City." She said.
He nodded then headed back to the city while Maleficent and Cruella laughed evilly.
The alarm in the lab went off and the Rangers saw Wolfsbane causing trouble in the city with Goblins aiding him.
"We have to stop him." Chad said.
"Chad's right." Jane said.
Mal nodded. "Let's go."
"What about Carlos?" Evie asked.
"I'll stay with him." Dude said. "I helped him once. I'm positive I can do it again."
The Rangers nodded then morphed and headed into the city.
Wolfsbane laughed as civilians ran away from him.
Mal and the others arrived.
"Chad, Dizzy, Shari, and Lonnie, put a muzzle on that mutt. The rest of us will handle the Goblins." Mal said.
The four mentioned Rangers powered up to Knight Armor Mode then leapt at Wolfsbane and drew him away from the others, who began to fight the Goblins.
Chad threw a punch at Wolfsbane, who managed to dodge it then he blocked a kick from Lonnie.
"Undo what you did to our friend!" She told him.
"Never!" He said then threw her aside. Dizzy managed to catch her.
In the lab, Carlos was curled up, as if to protect himself from Dude, who sat a couple feet away.
"Carlos, I know you're not really scared of me or any other dog. Remember all the good times we've had?" Dude asked.
"...Yeah." Carlos said.
"Then you know your fear isn't real."
Carlos began to reminisce on the belly rubs he gave Dude and all the love he'd shown Dude since they'd met. Carlos soon stood tall and walked to the monitors, where Fairy Godmother sat. He saw Chad, Dizzy, Shari, and Lonnie fighting Wolfsbane and losing. He got mad because of what Wolfsbane did.
"I'm gonna help them." He said.
"Good luck, Carlos." Fairy Godmother said, smiling.
Carlos nodded then morphed instantly and headed to help.
Chad, Dizzy, Shari, and Lonnie were soon on their backs as Wolfsbane walked to them, laughing. "You're finished, Rangers!"
"Call to the beast inside! Bring out the Wolf!" Carlos shouted and his Wolf Spirit scratched at Wolfsbane twice, sending the monster flying backwards.
The four Rangers saw their teammate running to them.
"Welcome to the party." Lonnie said to him, smiling under her helmet.
"Figured you guys would welcome the help." He said.
"You figured right." Chad said as Jay ran to them.
"Welcome back, Carlos." He said.
"Thanks, Jay." Carlos said.
"We've still got a fight, guys." Dizzy said.
"She's right. Let's put this mongrel in the pound." Shari said.
The six faced off against Wolfsbane then summoned their weapons.
"Defender Rangers, Jungle Strike!" They said.
Carlos shot his Kunai Collar off and it hit Wolfsbane, stunning him. Jay and Lonnie jumped off of Carlos's shoulders and Jay swung his Lamp Axe while Lonnie swung her Tiger Dagger as if to form an X then they landed on the ground. Dizzy's Peacock Fans flew past then and bounced off Wolfsbane, stunning him again. Chad and Shari started sliding with his Bear Scimitar and her Panther Katana and they slashed at him one at a time.
Wolfsbane howled as he was destroyed. A portal opened and one of Evil Queen's Growth Potions came through and helped Wolfsbane grow to a giant.
"Fairy Godmother, it's Zord time." Carlos said.
"On their way, Carlos. Jay, Doug modified your Snake Zord to function as the Jungle Defender Megazord's new Sword." She said.
"Sweet." Jay said as the six Zords arrived. The Bear Zord, Peacock Zord, Panther Zord, Wolf Zord, and Tiger Zord formed the Jungle Defender Megazord. Jay boarded his Zord and pressed the button with a sword icon. Once transformed, the Panther Zord picked up the new Snake Sword as Jay joined his teammates in the Megazord cockpit.
Wolfsbane drew his sickles and the two giants fought, but the Snake Sword gave the Rangers the edge and Wolfsbane was soon disarmed.
"No, no, no!" Wolfsbane said.
"'Fraid so, you flea bitten pooch." Chad said.
"Let's finish this." Lonnie said.
"Jungle Defender Megazord! Snake Sword!" The six shouted as the Snake Sword powered up. "Final Attack!" They shouted then the Megazord slashed at Wolfsbane.
"This wolf runs no more!" He said as he exploded.
"Defender Rangers, Auradon is safe." Carlos said.
On the Isle, Maleficent and Cruella were watching the fight and Cruella screamed in rage that her plan with the Mistress of Evil failed.
"Once again, they win!" Cruella shouted.
"I refuse to give up. Those Rangers will fail." Maleficent said.
Back in the lab, the Rangers has their helmets off and relaxed.
"We knew you'd get over an old fear, Carlos." Freddie said.
"Definitely." Jordan said.
"There's a lesson in that." Audrey said.
"And what is it, Audrey?" Allie asked.
"That fear isn't real." Sarah answered.
"Definitely." Carlos said as they all completely demorphed then headed upstairs.
That's chapter thirty. I had a lot to work out for this chapter, considering it's the first chapter I've ever done as a dedication. I hope y'all like this chapter.
