Cat and her guitar
Cat Valentine is a bit nervous.
It's time for the end of term exams.
Sure, she's practiced a lot over the past 2 months, but she still doesn't feel confident at all.
"Relax, kid. You can do this. I've faith in your talent." says Jade.
"Jade, are you sure I'm not weak?" says Cat.
"You've practiced for this. Try to have fun." says Jade.
"Okay..." says Cat.
"Don't worry." says Jade.
"Uh..." says Cat.
"Here. Get out there and show them all what you got." says Jade as she grab Cat's pink electric guitar and hands it to Cat.
"Thanks." says Cat.
"Take deep breaths. Feel calm and relaxed. I'm certain you'll do well." says Jade.
"Alright..." says Cat as she walk out onto the small stage.
Lights come on and she takea seat on the chair.
She is as frozen in place.
Cat simply sit there and her hands shake and she feel sweat on the back of her head.
All of her friends and classmates watch and wait for her to play guitar and sing.
"No, no, no..." thiinks Cat.
She feel like a weak little kid.
"You may begin." says Tori.
Cat simply nod and she wanna begin, but her body disagree.
"Miss Valentine, we want to hear your song." says Mrs Laura Benton, the music-teacher.
Cat is so nervous that she cannot sing and play guitar.
She wanna do so, but can't.
"Opsss..." mumbles Cat when she notice that her guitar isn't plugged in.
She plug it into the amp.
Even so, Cat is still too nervous to perform her song.
"Miss Valentine, are you okay?" says Mrs Benton.
Cat doesn't know what to say.
Jade mouths Cat a "You can do this, kid."
Cat tries to nod towards Jade, but can barely even do that right now.
Being a very sweet lady, Mrs Benton allows Cat to take some time to get in the zone.
"Sing is gonna me a..." says Cat. "...I mean, me is gonna sing a new song. I wrote it myself..."
Cat is nervous still, but she try to be a bit confident.
"Uh...sorry, Mrs Benton. I need to pee..." says Cat, who is so nervous that she feel she has to pee.
"Okay. Then go do so, girl." says Mrs Benton.
"Thanks." says Cat and then leave.
7 minutes later, Cat return.
She seem a bit less nervous now.
"Do we get to hear your song now?" says Mrs Benton.
Cat doesn't knwo what to say, so she nod instead.
She tries to play guitar and sing.
It sounds wrong.
This because she's nervous and as such mess up.
Cat close her eyes, takes some slow deep breaths and then she begins.
She play guitar and sing.
Little bunny in a tree, hope that you'll be nice to me.
That is how it's all was meant to be.
Feel the sweet wind in my hair.
Life is good and cute and fair.
I wish that you'd truly were my friend.
Very cute, very cute, very cute for me.
Everyday I hope to see, someone who can set me free.
Help me to open up and see.
Be my friend and hold my hand, all the way until the end.
That'd be very cozy and so nice.
Very cute, very cute, very cute for me.
At my side all through the night.
That is good and it feels right.
Love you and love you so much.
Very cute, very cute, very cute for me.
"Nice, Miss Valentine." says Mrs Benton.
"Thank you." says Cat, no longer nervous.
She is happy now.
Cat does the song again.
After that, Mrs Benton says "You get a A on this, Cat Valentine."
"Yay!" says Cat in joy.
"It was a cute song. And you're good at playing guitar." says Mrs Benton.
"Me try to be." says Cat.
"Alright. Like I said, you get an A." says Mrs Benton.
"Congrats, kid. You did it, as I know you could." says Jade.
"Thanks, Jade." says Cat.
"No problem." says Jade.
"Awww!" says a happy Cat.
Cat unplug her guitar and step off the stage.
"I knew you'd do well." says Jade.
"Okay." says Cat.
"Yeah." says Jade.
Cat walk backstage where she place her guitar on the guitar-rack among the guitars that belongs to Jade, André, Beck and Tori.
She is happy that she was able to pull it together and perform her song.
And that she got an A.
The guitar Cat played on is a pink electric guitar with a heart-shaped body, 2 mini humbuckers and a short-scale neck.
It also has a built-in tuner and USB-output.
The guitar looks sort of childish, but it's not a toy.
It's a well-made quality guitar.
"You were great." says jade as she enter the room.
"Awww! Thanks." says a happy Cat.
"I'll pay for your lunch. Mama Jade's proud of her little kitten-girl." says Jade.
"Yay!" says Cat, all childish and happy.
"Yes, indeed." says Jade.
"Awesome." says Cat.
"True." says Jade.
Cat gives Jade a sweet BFF-style hug.
"Awww!" says Cat.
"Yeah, kid." says Jade.
Jade is almost like an extra mom for Cat.
Cat like this very much.
"Your song's really cute." says Jade.
"Yeah." says Cat, all happy.
"Indeed, kid." says Jade.
Cat is very happy.
The End.
