The fan slammed down on the desk as the figures fingers increased their rhythm in agitation. Everything was going so well….why did HanGuang Jun have to choose now to grow a spine and have his own opinions? He had always followed along with that endless list of rules the Gusu Sect had before so why now did he go all rogue? And ZeWu jun! He had known the man loved his little brother but to allow him to do this and not stop it…..what was the man thinking!

Growling to himself in frustration he looked up at the well decorated ceiling and took a deep breath. Well if he couldn't split HanGuang Jun from his brother and he couldn't split HanGuang Jun from Wei WuXian, then he would have to find a way to split Wei WuXian from HanGuang Jun. After all he had put far to much effort into this just to get it to this point. He wasn't going to back down now.

It had only been a few weeks since the few surviving members of the Wen Sect had been taken by Wei Ying to the YiLing burial mounds. At first they had been surprised and afraid to enter the area, after all it had a reputation for being an area even the evil Wen never dared to venture too far into. Anything that could scare the Wen family's patriarch was nothing to take lightly. However Wei Ying had simply shrugged off all their concerns and led them with a eerly strong sense of direction down an overgrown path that couldn't be seen until you were almost upon it. The group had eventually arrived in a clearing surrounded by trees on three sides and a large cave on the fourth. They had still been fearful of their surroundings but Wei Ying had simply wandered around the area pointing out places where houses could be built, plants could be grown and food cooked. It was then they had realised this was to be the place they were to live and following Wei Ying's directions they began to move around clearing the clearing following his directions. That of course was until a flash of white descended from the sky scaring the whole group.

Now days in YiLing consisted of the building houses, digging fields and occasionally going down to YiLing town to buy supplies. Of course days more than occasionally also involved Wei Ying and Wen Qing arguing over something that no one else seemed to think was important, and not stopping until either, or both, Wen Ning and Lan Zhan got involved as the voices of reason. Wei Ying and Lan Zhan more often than not took the trips down to the town to get supplies, and while there managed to speak to the other cultivators around and get up to date information. This would leave the Wen siblings in control of the clearing, or rather Wen Qing as Wen Ning always did as he was told.

A protective barrier wove its way around their small camp. Originally it was cast by Wei Ying and was there to both keep other cultivators and the spirits of the dead away. Later both Wei Ying and Lan Zhan had worked together to create a barrier that was nearly 5 times as strong as Wei Ying's alone. The downside with it though was that it only recognised its two creators, and as long as they were not in the camp, no one else could leave.

After a seemingly longer than normal day building and digging, the light was fading and the two men where still not back from town. Not overly concerned the group headed to the largest completed building to eat before heading to bed. Half way though the meal they heard a loud noise outside and a few of them went to the doorway to investigate. Outside in the thin light of dusk stood Lan Zhan holding Wei Ying by an arm. Wei Ying was staggering as he walked and was obviously drunk, but it wasn't that which held peoples attention. Wei Ying was murmuring to himself one moment and then shouting and shoving at Lan Zhan's chest the next. This of course was like trying to shove a rock, and rather than moving backwards Lan Zhan was in fact guiding both of them into the large cave at the back of the clearing.

Soon all the group had lost any sound of the pair and went back inside to finish their meal, wash up the dishes and slip under their thin blankets for a rest before the next days work began. It might not be the lifestyle they were used to. It was hard and there was barley enough of anything for everyone, but thanks to the two man in the cave, it was safe.

Lan Zhan had not been aware of the eyes on them both as he steered Wei Ying home. YiLing had become home to him after he had followed Wei Ying here a few weeks ago and steadfastly refused to leave. None of his family had yet come to see him but at least his uncle hadn't sent anyone to retrieve him yet, it saved him the problem of having to disobey an order for the first time in his life.

Wei Ying flopped down on the bed mumbling to himself once again. Lan Zhan sighed quietly and made a mental not not to allow him to get this drunk again. They had spent the walk from the town to the camp with Wei Ying swinging backwards and forwards between telling him he was happy he was there and shouting at him to go away and never come back. Lan Zhan didn't think for a moment that Wei Ying was completely drunk, he had just drunk enough that all the things he normally kept bottled up inside where coming to the surface.

He heard a shuffle on the bed that broke him out of his reverie. Wei Ying was rolling around trying to remove his outer robes, having already removed his boots and sash belt which where thrown on the floor. Lan Zhan turned away to go to his own bed at the other side of the cave, if Wei Ying was more drunk than he thought then it was best he kept away. A hand closed on his wrist and he turned back to see Wei Ying looking up at him from the bed. The eyes had a sadness to them but also something he couldn't quite place.

'Stay' Wei Ying whispered quietly before pointing to his bed with his free hand 'here!'

Lan Zhan swallowed before replying.

'I can't your drunk'

Wei Ying just laughed and knelt up on the bed, a little unsteadily, allowing his hands to rest on Lan Zhan's shoulders.

'Stay here' He repeated. 'I'm tired of being alone'

Lan Zhan was thinking of how to respond to such a statement when Wei Ying's hands slipped under his robes and made direct contact with his shoulder blades. He swallowed once again before forcing himself to speak.

'Wei Ying…..I'

Wei Ying's hands moved downwards under the robes, over his chest until they paused just above his waist.

'I don't want to be alone' He repeated.

Lan Zhan felt like he was burning all over, he had to get away while he still could but for some reason the little touch of Wei Ying on his skin was working like a vice sticking his feet to the ground. He gritted his teeth before trying once more to get his point across like a gentleman.

'Wei Ying….do you know what you are doing?…..what you are asking?

Wei Ying shook his head while answering 'No', then paused and nodded his head speaking 'yes', in such an innocent tone that it snapped what left of Lan Zhan's self control.

He pinned Wei Ying firmly to the bed, one hand restraining his wrists and the other holding his waist, as they kissed deeply. Although Wei Ying still had his hands on Lan Zhan's chest he didn't move them, or try to push him off, instead his hands roamed around the small section of skin he had access to.

Lan Zhan broke off the kiss and pulled the robe of Wei Ying away enough to expose his shoulder. Biting it gently he heard the slight moan coming from the man underneath him. He bit down a little hard trying to keep Wei Ying still and was amazed when he felt one of the hands on his chest disappear and somehow find its way between his legs. As Wei Ying stroked him through his robes Lan Zhan groaned, he hadn't wanted their first time being physically intimate to be like this. In a cold rock cave with Wei Ying half drunk, but right now Wei Ying was making it almost impossible for him to resist.

Another small moan came from Wei Ying as Lan Zhan licked where he had just bitten, followed by almost inaudible.

'Want you!'

Before Lan Zhan even realised what he had done both his and Wei Ying's clothing were dis-guarded all across the cave floor. Wei Ying's hand had found its way back to its original place but it was now stroking flesh without any protection at all. Lan Zhan's mouth had moved from Wei Ying's shoulder to his chest and was kissing and licking all his mouth could reach. Wei Ying was arching his back into those touches making it harder and harder, both emotionally and physically, for him to hold back.

'Want you!' Wei Ying murmured again, this time louder and more insistent.

Lan Zhan couldn't stop himself this time. He covered Wei Ying's mouth with his own as he slid first a finger into the man who seemed to be an expert in sending him mad, and then later eased his whole self inside. The kiss served to block out some of Wei Ying's groans at what was obviously not one of the easiest of couplings but that didn't stop Lan Zhan, and soon both men didn't care what was going on around them. There attention was firmly fixed on each other and why they needed the comfort that could only be gained by the man in their arms.

Outside the group had long ago huddled together to sleep, and the next day no one quite knew how to raise the subject of an oral shield with either of their saviours. None of the group minded the relationship between the two men, but when they created so much noise they woke the whole clearing up someone needed to say something.
