It was supposed to be a one time thing, when she accepted his offer. She had only meant for them to eat dinner and perhaps end up rolling around in his bed that night. But, fuck, it had been good. Better than good. And he already had her number, of course. And then there was the fact that he nestled his way in to shadow her at work.

It really annoys her how much he's affecting her every day. She tried not to but after only three days of his shadowing, with constant glances and innuendos, she was following him back to his place. He made her feel things no one else had. His fingers could make her squirm and moan and his mouth… let's just say talking wasn't all that bad when she knew what that tongue of his could do in the dark and private of his bedroom.

Just thinking about the time they'd spent in his bed makes her hot and bothered and it's not helping! Kate groans as she let's go of the pen she's been writing with, runs her fingers through her short hair as she tries to make her mind stop thinking about him. And right when she thinks she might've succeeded she's interrupted by his hand reaching out to put her coffee mug on her desk. Her lips pull up in a smile before she realizes and frowns, narrowing her eyes at him.

"What?" he asks and she shakes her head as she returns to her paperwork.

She feels his eyes on her, always observing her, and her mind starts to wonder again. Thinking about the way her skin turns into flames every time his fingers circles her naked body, or the way she feels when he… stop. She clenches her teeth, crosses her legs under her desk as she tries to write the report she's been working on for an hour now.

"What do you want for dinner tonight?" he suddenly asks and she feels her body stiffen.

"Why?" she asks, looking up at him with narrowed eyes.

He shrugs his shoulders. "Just figured I could go home and start making it, or I could order it to be delivered in an hour," he explains with a smile on his lips.

"No," she says and his eyes widen a little. "I'm not coming home with you tonight," she says as quietly as she can so the writer is the only one hearing.

To her relief they'd managed to keep their more… unprofessional relationship on the downlow. And she wants to keep it that way.

"Not tonight then," he says with that confidence she hates. But it's also what pulls her into him, especially when they're in their birthday suits.

She holds in the growl she wants to let out saying that no, not again, not tonight, not tomorrow, not any day, but she also knows she's said that before. When he'd showed up to her work to shadow her after that first night she'd told him that there was no way she'd follow him into bed again. But once they closed the second case together with him as her shadow she'd been so worked up she needed the release. And it didn't hurt that he made her feel so good. But she has to stop, he's starting to get addictive, and that's dangerous. If she's addicted to him it'll be so much harder when he breaks her heart. Because he will.

"Castle, you're watching me do paperwork, it's creepy," she says when another half hour has passed and he still hasn't left.

"It is? I think it's informing," he says and she huffs.

"Informing for what?" she questions irritatingly.

"My research of course."

"Oh, your research," she mumbles and he raises an eyebrow.

"What's that supposed to mean?" he questions with confusion written all over him.

She rolls her eyes. "As if you're really here to write a story based on me, you just want to have a reason to," she looks around before she lowers her voice, "get into my pants easier."

"Oh no, you got it all wrong, I really am basing a character on you," he tells her and she gives him her look. "No, really. I can show you, if you come back to my place that is," he adds the last part a little lower to make sure only she hears it.

"Rea-no, no thank you," she cuts herself off when she realizes she's about to accept his offer.

She can see disappointment in his eyes but he nods, and doesn't try to convince her to follow him home. She has a feeling that's because he knows she won't be able to keep herself away from him too long. It annoys her that he already knows her so well. It's pleasing, and so damn hot when they're in bed, but annoying.

"Another time then," he says.

She restrains herself from growling just as she signs the paperwork and takes a breath to calm herself before she stands to go and put it on her captain's desk. The captain went home a couple hours ago and so she just puts it on his desk in hopes of him not asking when she left the precinct. He's been on her from the start about not working too long into the night, especially when it's a closed case. While at his desk she takes a few deep breaths to silently tell herself to not give into this bubbling feeling telling her to follow him home tonight. When she comes back out of the office she sees him holding up her jacket for her to put on. She sighs but does indeed let him help her with it. To her shivering surprise he's letting his fingers brush her neck when he lets go of the jacket.

"Castle," she hisses in warning as she spins around to face him with narrowed eyes. "Someone might see," she hisses even lower.

"No one's even here," he whispers with a smirk on his lips and she tries to ignore the sting of arousal in her stomach.

She doesn't really have any response because, yes, no one's here but she still doesn't like him being so open in public, and so she just grabbed her phone and her bag and started walking towards the elevator.

"Night," she calls out behind her only to groan in disappointment when he manages to catch up to her and sneak into the elevator with her.

He doesn't try anything though, to her surprise, and once they leave the precinct he bids her a good night and his usual "until tomorrow". One part of her wants to say "screw this" and follow him home but another part of her manages to pull her towards her apartment instead. Kate's mind keeps going back to the night before when she had gone home with him instead of going home to her empty apartment.

She orders chinese and manages to take a cold shower before it's delivered. She sits down at her couch with the food in her hands as she turns the tv on just to have something to listen to and watch while she eats. While she eats she can't stop thinking about him.

"Well, I guess this is it," she said, turning towards her favorite writer.

"Well, it doesn't have to be," he said with mischief in his eyes. "We could, uh, go to dinner, debrief each other."

She shook her head while her lips turned up in a smile she didn't give them permission to. "Why Castle?" she knew she was flirting, but somehow she didn't care. "So I could be another one of your conquests?"

Without missing a beat and with a big smirk on his lips he said; "Or I could be one of yours."

She pulled her bottom lip into her mouth, biting it as arousal fills inside her. She leaned herself closer, put her mouth next to his ear. "7pm, Remy's, don't be late."

He hadn't been late. Kate shakes her head and goes to grab a glass of wine, quickly taking a sip to calm her nerves. Only it's not helping.

She saw him before he saw her inside the small diner, which was packed with people, and so she walked up to him and tapped him on his shoulder. He turned around almost immediately and his eyes roamed her body which sent a fire down her body.

"Wow," he said and she got a feeling he didn't mean for it to come out his mouth.

She blushed and ran her hand through her hair as she glanced around the room.

"Should we order?" she asked and he cleared his throat before he gestures for her to choose a table.

Kate tries to shrug off the memory, how they'd flirted more during the dinner than they had during the whole case, how their flirting had ended in laughter and him saying she had the most wonderful laugh he'd heard.

They slowly moved closer and closer to each other on the half-circle couch they were seated on. His hand landed on her thigh and that was when she couldn't deny the strong pull anymore. She closed the last inches between them in order to claim his lips with hers. The kiss quickly turned hungry and heated and it didn't take long before they left the diner for his loft.

Kate groans, taking another sip before she puts the glass on her couch table in order to lay down on the couch, her cellphone in her hands, pulling up the text messages they'd sent the last couple weeks. Before thinking she's already sent a new text and she drops the phone onto the couch cushions beside her before putting her hands over her face, hiding and groaning.

"You sure?" he asked as his fingers were teasing her sides.

"I wouldn't be here if I wasn't," she teased and raised her upper body to claim his lips again.

He chuckled a bit before he lined himself at her entrance, both moaning when he's pushing inside. He let her adjust before he started moving and she immediately met his thrusts with her own, her body burning with pleasure and arousal she hadn't felt before.

Kate hears the beep and clenches her eyes shut. If he'd only gone to sleep sooner her stupid text wouldn't have bothered her until the morning. Even though she considers not looking at her phone she's too curious for her own good.

*I'm just writing, what about you?*

She bites her lip, thinks for a few seconds before writing back. *Drinking wine and watching tv.*

Almost the second it's sent his name lights up her screen and she feels a jolt of joy in the pit of her stomach.

"Couldn't wait to hear my voice, huh?" she teases and grins at his chuckle.

"Of course not," he teases back. "And you missed me."

She scrunches her nose, he's right and it annoys her. "Did not," she says anyway. "I was just curious if you would be doing what you said you'd be doing."

"Mhmm," he hums and she bites her lip. "So, what did you want to talk about?"

She sighs, she doesn't have any answer to that. She really doesn't have any reason for wanting to talk to him, she shouldn't be talking to him like this. It'll just make it so much harder and more painful when he leaves.

"I-uh, just wanted to see if you were up or not, but I should probably head to bed," she says.

"So, still a no for me coming over to your place?" he asks and she shivers at the thought of him here.

"Still a no," she says anyway. A complete other idea pops into her head and she keeps her mouth shut in order not to let it slip.

"You know, if I was there I could give you a nice backrub," his voice drops into a deeper tone and she clenches her eyes shut. "You know that way I know you like it, I wouldn't hesitate to go a little further down either." And now it's completely his bedroom voice. "Only with your permission of course," he adds and she can hear the smirk in his voice.

She sighs with contentment when he continues to suggest the things he could do for her if he was there, and it doesn't take long before she herself helps narrate everything.
