"Well, you lucked out. You were so worried about the ceremony, then you didn't even have to do it."

"I spent all night re-writing it. I was kinda lookin' forward to it. I got the whole thing down to two minutes."

"I'd like to hear it."

"Eh, come on. Really?"

"As long as it's under two minutes."

Sonny laughed and pulled the paper out of his jacket pocket, hoping Amanda doesn't notice the tremble in his hands. Sonny wrote the speech with Amanda in mind, so when she asked to hear it, for him to read it to her at a romantic almost wedding, alone by themselves, to the woman he's in love with, his nerves were getting the better of him.

"Dearly beloved," Sonny nervously cleared his throat and laughed along with Amanda, "We are gathered here to witness and celebrate the union of Phoebe Baker and Fin Tutuola. Fin and Phoebe were each other's first partners over 20 years ago. A partnership is a lot like a marriage, you fight, then you make up." Sonny turned to meet Amanda's eyes, just to let her know this speech wasn't just about Fin and Phoebe. "But at the end of the day, you always have each other's backs. And if you had to, you'd take a bullet for each other. And a bond like that… that never goes away." That last part got to Amanda, straight to her heart. Everything he said was true about the two of them.

Sonny paused to glance over at Amanda who is clearly crying.

"Wait, wait a second, are you crying?"

Amanda turned away from him and laughed, "I don't cry at weddings. If, if I was, it's just because I know how they end up."

"Uh huh, you never cry huh?" Sonny pulled out his handkerchief and dabbed away her tears, letting his fingers linger a little longer on her cheek. His eyes meet hers and he thinks for a second how much he wants to kiss her, how it'd be the perfect moment, but too many doubts are running through this head. Does she feel the same way? I did just break up with Nicole. All our friends are right around the corner. A kiss would change everything. He is forced to look away, because her beautiful eyes are just encouraging him. "I'll spare you the rest, it's kinda hokey anyway."

"Carisi?" Her voice startled him a little, "What?" Amanda's hand lands on his chest, fidgeting with his tie. She raises up on her toes towards his face and pauses, he stops breathing when her lips gently brush against his. He lets out the breath he was holding, relieved she feels the same way he does. She reaches up to cup his face and he gives a tiny nod to say hell yes! His hand finds her other cheek this time, running his thumb across her cheek, just as he had done wiping away her tears. They kissed until there was no air left in their lungs. Sonny pulled back slightly to seek out Amanda's watery eyes. Still caressing her face, he whispered, "I've wanted to do that for so long."

"Me too," she replied, and they kissed again.

Amanda pulled away this time and asked, "You wanna get outta here?"

"Yes please," Sonny smiled and turned to follow her out when his phone began to ring in his jacket pocket. Releasing Amanda from his grasp and immediately regretting it, "Yeah, I'll let Liv know and we'll head right over."

"Shit, I forgot, Liv and I have some stuff to finish up at work."

"I'll ride over with you and then when you're done, we can head home? Give you a reason to not stay at work all night?" Amanda said, smiling up at him.

"Sounds perfect," Sonny replied before giving Amanda one last peck on the lips and following her around to find Olivia. He followed just behind her, wanting to reach out and touch her again, but keeping a safe distance that would not raise suspicion. The blush on their cheeks and silly smiles on their faces went unnoticed by their friends as they approached.

"Duty calls Captain." Sonny says to Olivia.

"Ok, I'll meet you there."

No one even questioned why Amanda was leaving too. They rode in silence over to the courthouse, then Amanda jumped out and followed Sonny, letting him lead the way inside and up the stairs towards one of their conference rooms, until he reached a bench and dropped his briefcase down. She followed suit, setting down her purse.

He suddenly turned to her and asked, "So what are we saying is your excuse for being here too?"

"Hmm," Amanda took a few steps to meet Sonny, placing her hands on his chest, fiddling with the front of his jacket, "I could be your assistant?" she asks, raising her eyebrow and grinning.

"Can I kiss you again?" his hands gripping her hips.

"Counselor, you can kiss me any time you want."

"You're hired," Sonny smiles at her, runs his hands up and down her arms before his fingers crawl up to her neck, his left hand moves to the back of her head, his fingers combing through her blonde hair, tilting her head sightly to kiss her again.

This was not like their first soft, hesitate kiss. This one was fierce and passionate. So much so that it literally knocked Amanda off her feet. She stumbled back slightly, and Sonny moved with her, pressing her up against the wall behind her. Amanda's left hand came up to grab onto Sonny's neck, deepening the kiss even more, while her right hand held tight onto his jacket, holding him close to her. Her tongue entered his mouth as he moaned into hers. He pushed his body into her so she could feel the affect she was having on him, and she just pushed back. They both forgot where they were until Sonny's phone rang again in his pocket.

"Ugh," Sonny pulled back as Amanda wrapped her arms around Sonny's body, her arms snaking up under his jacket, and she rested her head against his chest, listening to his heart pounding. He wrapped an arm around her shoulders and rested his head atop hers.

"Hey Fin, what's up? Oh no! Is she alright?" Amanda pulled back to look up at his worried face. "Yeah, Amanda and I are at the courthouse waiting for her, we'll head to the hospital now."

Fin thought two things, #1, why was Amanda there with Sonny so late? And #2, how Sonny called her Amanda and not Rollins? Questions for another day.

Sonny pulled away from Amanda saying, "Liv's been in an accident, Fin says she's ok, but I'm gonna head to the hospital.

"Oh my gosh, yes, I'm coming with you."

Sonny grabbed his briefcase and handed Amanda her purse. He reached for her hand, which he held all the way out of the courthouse and to his car. No one was there to witness it, plus it just felt so natural when they interlocked their fingers, like they'd done it hundreds of times.
