Ch 43
Lan Zhan and Wei Ying had left the containment and interrogation of Xue Yang to Lan XiChen and Lan QiRen. After all they were the leaders of the Sect and had the most experience in such things, also for some reason Xue Yang was focused on the two younger members so they were staying out of the way. Having got back to the JingShi the two had found Jiang Cheng securely guarding a few small children including A-Yuan who was huddling on the bed. Upon seeing his parents, A-Yuan had left his place in the corner and raced faster than anyone thought possible in order to grab hold of Lan Zhan's leg, hugging it as tight as possible. Wei Ying couldn't help laughing at his normally statue-like husband reaching down and scooping up their small son in one strong arm. The sheer relief that had flowed through him knowing everyone was alright had nearly made him crumple to the floor. The day after Jiang Cheng had returned home to YunMeng with a promise from Lan XiChen that he would share anything he learned from the captives.
This had been a few months ago now and things had settled back to normal at the Cloud Recess. Lan XiChen had kept his word, sharing the information gained with the Sect Leader from YunMeng. One of the problems that had arose concerned Jin Zixun, the cousin of the new Sect Leader of the Jin Sect ,Jin Zixuan. While Gusu had been fighting Xue Yang, Jin Guangshan had died suspiciously leaving his eldest son to assume the leadership of the Sect. Of course not only was the timing of this very concerning and coincidental, but also it concerned Jiang Cheng and Wei Ying personally as Jin Zixuan was the husband of their beloved sister. According to some information Xue Yang had let slip, Jin Zixun had something to do with this death, although he refused to say what or why. Jiang Cheng had suggested that they keep the information from both his siblings and both Jin Zixuan and Lan XiChen had agreed. This left only the three men trying to work out the relationship between the men concerned relying on only each other, as they sworn secrecy on the subject.
In the meantime life in the JingShi had also gone back to normal. Wei Ying had gone back to teaching the children and juniors archery, Lan Zhan had gone back to marking and teaching the juniors the more academic subjects, while A-Yuan had gone back to playing with his his friends and attending his own classes while his parents where at work. It was nice to have a quiet time where they could just spend time and attention on family. Of course neither Wei Ying or Lan Zhan were fools, they both had contacted their respective brothers about any information Xue Yang might have offered up, only to be given a resounding no. They succinctly understood that whatever information was being given out was being kept from both of them, and allowing them quiet time to rest after all the drama of the past few months.
As Wei Ying had thought, the first night they were alone together Lan Zhan had bought up his shameless display during the fight. The two had just finished eating and A-Yuan had gone to bed early thanks to the days excitement, so he was behind his silencing spell and couldn't hear what was going on in the rest of the JingShi. Wei Ying had barely finished his meal before Lan Zhan was putting away the dishes, he hadn't spoken to him since capturing Xue Yang so he had an idea what was wrong.
'Lan Zhan talk to me' He spoke gently.
Silence was the only response he got so Wei Ying sighed and tried again.
'I knew you would be mad at some of the things I said. But it was the only way I could think of to get his attention off of you and allow you to get the upper hand.'
"While he had been speaking Lan Zhan, who had remained silent, had moved through the room with his eyes fixed on the other before returning to hover over him. The glare was not something was used to seeing from his loving husband.
'Did you want Xue Yang to be jealous of you?' came the icy voice Lan Zhan only used with strangers. 'You really wished it was him with you instead of me?'
'NOOOO' Wei Ying exclaimed horrified, shooting to his feet. 'Are you just being jealous or did you completely Mis-understand what I said? I was saying he was jealous of ME for being with YOU!' Lan Zhan blinked, giving Wei Ying time to wrap his arms around his husbands rigid shoulders. 'I normally love you being jealous but Er-ge sometimes it sends you a bit insane.'
Again Lan Zhan didn't speak, instead he moved his hands to grip Wei Ying's hair in a vice like grip that actually hurt a little, before pressing his lips harshly to the others mouth. Wei Ying had remained submissive, unsure of his husbands current mood so allowing the invasion in his mouth with the only response on his part being resting his hands on Lan Zhan's back. The two had barely gotten behind the privacy screen before Lan Zhan was pressing his husband, who by now had resumed letting his hands roam freely, onto the bed behind their own silence spell.
'Stop moving!' Lan Zhan ordered.
His voice was still broken, the harsh sound seemed at opposition with the fire of desire in his eyes. Wei Ying's hand paused, still uncertain about the mood driving Lan Zhan. Wei Ying moaned quietly as Lan Zhan pulled open his upper robe enough to have access to his neck, then bit down hard enough to leave a mark. Lifting his head slightly Lan Zhan spoke again, voice a little less harsh than before.
'You like driving me insane don't you?'
Wei Ying couldn't help laughing, which caused the scowl to return to Lan Zhan's face. As he spoke Wei Ying resumed stroking his husbands back soothingly.
'That depends on what type of insane you mean. If its the kind of insane where I tease you until you throw me on the nearest hard surface and fuck me boneless. Then yes of course I do...' Wei Ying smiled as he moved his hips to emphasise his point. 'But if its the kind of insane you get when you get jealous then no I don't, because you get mad at me.' Wei Ying kissed Lan Zhan's cheek gently ...'You don't need to get mad Er'ge, I have never liked anyone but you, only you!'
Lan Zhan then spent the whole evening teaching Wei Ying promise never to make him jealous again, in between moans and…..other noises.
After the first day A-Yuan had had a few sleepless night tossing and turning with nightmares, during which at least one of his parents would stay up well into the night watching for if he woke up crying. Normally that parent was Lan Zhan as he had much more work to do and it would often take him well into the night, well it would if he stopped to have a 'marital break' anyway. These nightmares though soon faded and the child had gone back to his normal troublesome self. A-Yuan seemed to be taking more and more after Wei Ying everyday. Breaking into a run as soon as he got through the gate to the JingShi courtyard, so technically not breaking any rules, and shouting at the top of his voice as soon as he stepped into the silenced doors themselves. Wei Ying had figured out years ago that he could use the unique spells and rules around Lan Zhan's JingShi to break the rules that normality governed life in Gusu, and it seemed their dauntless son was not far behind. Of course at the same time A-Yuan was also becoming more like Lan Zhan with his focus on his studies and his automatic sleep timetable.
Life had fallen back in a relaxed routine for the LanWei family, however this had been purchased at the expense of both of their brothers who were trying their hardest to protect the privacy and happiness of the other two. Apart from the problem of the whole Jin Sect, Jin Zixun, ,Jin Zixuan, Xue Yang confusion there was another large problem that had appeared. Somehow since the intrusion into the Cloud Reccess that evening, despite the intruders either being killed or confined, news of Wei Ying still being alive had begun to circulate around all the Sects. No longer was it a closely guarded secret shared by only a trusted few. The news that the YiLing Patriarch, the man whom the world had celebrated as crushed under a mountain years ago, had been living all these years in the strictest and most honest Sect among them. Not only that but within those years he had not only been accepted as part of the Sect but actually married the equally legendary HanGuang Jun. The idea of the two legendary names marrying, one a symbol of good and other evil, made people so nervous in some cases that they actually forgot that both parties involved where men.
Lan XiChen had been dealing with a never ending stream of messages from both Sect leaders and prominent elders wanting to know a variety of things ranging from why the Lan Sect had saved the YiLing Patriarch in the first place…..why they had hid it from the rest of the Sects…...how long they planned to keep such a thing secret…...the list seemed endless. Some of the messages seemed purposely written to try and antagonise him, including such accusatory statements as, how could an honourable Sect produce something as dishonourable as a cut-sleeve….that the Lan Sect should relinquish its place as one of the five high Sects…..That the Lan's where no longer trustworthy. He had to admit that some of the anger towards himself and his Sect was justified but it seemed as if too many of the messages where saying the same thing for it to be simply coincidence.
Jiang Cheng was having his own problems now the truth was out. Just when he wanted to concentrate on the Jin Sect problem with his brother in law he found himself defending himself against an onslaught of both people and messages wanting to know when and how he found out about his brother still being alive. Not wanting to say he only found out because the Lan's were forced to tell him, and certainly not wanting to say anything about YanLi knowing everything which would involve her in what was fast becoming a mire, he could only give his answers in vaguest possible way. Someone coming back to life after years presumed dead was a big event and not one welcomed by the majority of the Sects. Jiang Cheng wasn't sure how the Lan's had planned to release this information eventually, or even if they had planned to, but it certainly hadn't been like this. Now the information was out there completely uncontrolled, and at a time when the Lan's were recovering from a physical attack. Jiang Cheng could not help but think all these things where related, and all of them aimed at the Lan Sect, specifically his brother.
