Chapter 7 Unital Rings
Sora's POV
The Next Day
I walked into the convenient store, and when I did, I spotted a familiar face.
"Hi Selphie", I greeted said person, who worked part time at the convenient store.
"Hi Sora", she greeted. "What brings you here?"
"Kairi sent me to get some things for dinner", I replied before holding up a shopping list.
And when I did...Selphie squealed so loudly that everybody in the store stared at her.
"Are you okay", I asked.
"Sorry", Selphie apologized. "It's just...you and Kairi have only been married for three days and you're already doing things like buying groceries for her. It's so romantic, I can't even!"
Before Selphie could continue to gush, she noticed something.
"Wait a minute", she started. "Show me your hands."
"Um...", I asked in confusion. "Why?"
"Just do it", Selphie commanded.
"Okay", I replied in defeat. "Okay!"
After I said this, I held out my hands and Selphie looked very closely at them.
"Where's your wedding ring", she asked.
"Um...", I started. "What wedding ring?"
"What", Selphie asked in shock.
Then...she started glaring daggers at me.
"Sora", she started in a frightening low voice. "Do you and Kairi not have wedding rings?"
"Huh", I asked in confusion. "What do you mean? Kairi does have a ring..."
And as soon as I said this...I got smacked in the side of the head with the broom Selphie was holding!
"Ow", I yelled out in pain before glaring at her. "What was that for?"
"What was that for", Selphie asked angrily. "That was for being an idiot!"
"What are you talking about", I asked Selphie angrily.
"The ring you got Kairi is an engagement ring you idiot", Selphie replied. "Not a wedding ring!"
"What's the difference", I asked.
And this resulted in me getting hit in the side of the head with the broom again!
"Ow", I yelled out in pain again.
"Okay", Selphie started as she took a deep breath. "I'm going to explain it to you since you obviously don't seem to get it."
"Please do", I pleaded as I rubbed the now hurting side of my face.
"An engagement ring is what a man gives to a women when he asks her to marry him", Selphie revealed. "A wedding ring is what both of them wear after they get married."
"Oh", I said in realization. "I didn't know that."
"How did you not know that", Selphie asked angrily.
"What", I asked in defense. "I didn't."
"Well", Selphie started. "You'd better fix it and get you and Kairi some wedding rings."
"Do we even need them", I asked.
"Of course", Selphie replied. "After all, you don't want guys flirting with your wife now do you?"
"What", I asked in shock.
"You don't have to worry about that if Kairi wears a wedding ring", Selphie stated.
"But", I started. "Won't the ring I gave Kairi do the same thing?"
"That thing you made her", Selphie asked. "Please."
