Chapter 8 Unital Rings Part 2
Sora's POV
Ten Minutes Later
I was walking home from the store.
As I did, I thought about what Selphie had said to me.
"You don't have to worry about that if Kairi wears a wedding ring."
"But, won't the ring I gave Kairi do the same thing?"
"That thing you made her? Please."
After I thought about this, I started thinking about when I made the ring for Kairi.
Flashback
Otto and I were watching Kairi and Ava play with Kit.
"You must really love her a lot", he asked.
"More than anything", I replied. "I want to be with her forever."
"Well then", Otto started. "Looks like you need to get her ring."
"A ring", I asked. "Why do I need to get that?"
"So that you can ask Kairi to marry you", Otto replied.
"Ask her to marry me", I asked.
"Yes", Otto replied. "Although, rings can be pretty expensive, so you may want to make her one instead.
End of Flashback
My train of thought ended when I got back home.
"I'm back", I greeted.
"Welcome back", Kairi greeted. "Thank you for going to the store for me."
"You're welcome", I replied before following Kairi to the kitchen.
Then...I stared at her ring.
"What's wrong", she asked in concern.
"Nothing's wrong", I replied. "I was just wondering...do you want a wedding ring?"
"Huh", Kairi asked in confusion. "A wedding ring?"
"According to Selphie, the ring I got you is just an engagement ring", I revealed. "Apparently you're supposed to get another ring after you get married, and that the husband is supposed to wear one too."
"I guess you're right", Kairi said. "But aren't wedding rings really expensive?"
"How bad can it be?"
The Next Day
We were in a ring store, and they were expensive. Very expensive.
"Oh."
One Hour Later
Kairi and I were at the Bistro.
"Why are they so expensive anyway", I asked.
"No idea", Kairi replied.
"I'm sorry", I apologised. "I won't be able to get you a wedding ring."
Before Kairi could say anything, Mr Scrooge walked up to us.
"Hello there Sora", he greeted.
"Hello Mr Scrooge", I greeted before looking at Kairi. "Kairi, this is Donald's uncle."
"It's very nice to meet you", Kairi greeted.
"It's nice to meet you too dear", Mr Scrooge replied. "Boy am I glad to have run into you two. I have a gift for you."
With that, Mr Scrooge gave us a box.
I opened it...and couldn't believe my eyes.
Inside...was a pair of wedding rings!
"Wedding rings", I asked in shock.
"That's right", Mr Scrooge replied. "They're my wedding gift to you!"
One Hour Later
Kairi and I were walking home.
"It was nice of Mr Scrooge to get us wedding rings", I said.
"Yeah", Kairi agreed.
Then, she held up her engagement ring.
"However", she started. "The ring you made me will always hold a special place in my heart."
