Chapter 9 Sick
Kairi's POV
The Next Morning
I opened my eyes, sat up in my bed and stretched my arms over my head.
Then I turned my head to look at Sora, but when I did...I did not like what I saw.
His face was red and he was sweating and breathing very heavily.
"Sora", I said in concern.
Then...I put my hand on his forehead.
"You're burning up!"
One Hour Later
I was standing outside of Sora's room with his mom.
"Is Sora going to be okay", I asked in concern.
"Don't you worry dear", Sora's mom reassured me as she patted my head. "The doctor said that it's just a cold. Sora's going to be fine. All he needs is some rest and to take his medicine."
"Okay", I said.
"Well", Sora's mom started changing the subject. "My husband is at work and I need to run some errands. Will you please take care of Sora dear?"
"Of course", I replied.
"Thank you so much dear", Sora's mom replied as she smiled at me. "Well, I need to get going. Take care dear!"
"Take care", I called out as Sora's mom left.
Then, I walked into his room and sat on the edge of the bed.
He was sound asleep.
"You just rest, okay honey", I said as I put my hand on his cheek.
Then...I leaned down and kissed his forehead.
"I love you."
One Hour Later
Sora's POV
I slowly opened my eyes and looked around.
When I did, I spotted Kairi sitting on our bed.
"Kairi", I breathed out in confusion.
"Hey Sora", Kairi greeted.
After she did, I started sitting up.
"Easy now", Kairi said. "Don't push yourself."
"It's fine Kairi", I reassured said person. "I'm feeling much better now. It looks like I just needed some rest."
"That's good", Kairi stated before changing the subject. "Are you hungry? I cut up some fruit for you."
"Yeah", I replied. "I could eat."
"Okay then", Kairi said before grabbing a fork with a piece of fruit in it. "Say ah."
That Night
I was lying in bed when suddenly...Kairi wrapped her arms around my chest and buried her head in my back.
"Huh", I said in confusion. "Kairi, are you okay?"
"You had me worried today", Kairi replied. "I know, I know. It's silly. You just had a cold, but I couldn't help it."
After Kairi said this, I turned around to face her before grabbing her hand with mine.
"It's not silly", I stated. "And even if it is, I probably would've been the same if it had been the other way around.
After I said this, Kairi smiled at me.
Then...she placed her forehead on top of mine.
"I'm sorry that I made you worry, I apologised.
"It's okay", Kairi stated. "It wasn't your fault." Just make sure to take care of yourself okay?"
"Okay", I said.
"I love you so much", Kairi stated.
"I love you too."
