Chapter 12 Become Parents?

Sora's POV

That Night

I was laying in bed with Kairi when my phone went off.

I looked at it, and saw that Ava was calling.

"Huh", I started in confusion. "Ava?"

"Ava", Kairi asked in confusion. "Why is she calling? Is everything okay?"

"I hope so", I replied before answering the phone and holding it up to my ear. "Hey Ava."

"Hey Sora", Ava greeted. "How's newlywed life?"

"It's wonderful", I replied as I smiled before looking at Kairi. "So, why did you call?"

"Well", Ava started. "I know that this is much to ask, but Otto and I need to do something tomorrow and our usual babysitter can't make it. So we were wondering if you and Kairi could take care of her."

"Huh", I said in shock. "Me and Kairi take care of Kit?"

"Is that okay", Ava asked.

"Let me just ask Kairi", I said before looking at said person.

"What's up", she asked.

"Ava and Otto are busy with something tomorrow and they want to know if we can look after Kit", I replied.

"Huh", Kairi said in confusion. "You and I look after Kit?"

"Yeah", I replied. "Is that okay?"

"Sure", Kairi replied. "We haven't seen Kit since the wedding. I would love to spend time with her!"

The Next Day

Kairi's POV

Sora and I were laying on the beach and watching Kit sleep.

"Hey guys", Riku greeted as he came to sit down next to us.

"Hey Riku", Sora greeted.

"Is she okay", Riku asked referring to Kit.

"She's fine", I replied. "She's just tired from all the fun we had in the ocean!"

"I saw that", Riku revealed. "It looks like you guys were having fun too."

Sora and I just smiled at each other.

And then...Riku chuckled.

"What is it", I asked in confusion.

"It's nothing", Riku replied. "It's just...I was just thinking about how you two would make good parents?"

Hearing this took me by surprise.

"Parents", I repeated.

"Yep", Riku replied before standing up. "Well, I've gotta go. Enjoy the rest of your babysitting."

That Night

Sora, Kit and I were all in the living room when the doorbell rang.

"That must be your parents Kit", I pointed out as I walked to the front door.

I opened it, and it was in fact Ava and Otto.

"We're back", the former pointed out.

"Mommy", Kit yelled as she ran up to said person. "Daddy!"

With that, I watched Kit interact with her parents...and suddenly felt a feeling of longing.

One Hour Later

I was sitting in bed when Sora sat down in front of me.

"You okay", he asked in concern. "You seem out of it?"

"I was just thinking", I replied.

"Thinking about what", Sora asked.

"Thinking...that it would be nice...to be parents someday."

Saying this resulted in Sora looking at me in shock, which scared me.

But my fears soon disappeared...when Sora said this.

"If I'm being honest...I was thinking the same thing."
