Chapter 14 Here's to Forever
Sora's POV
It had been a couple of weeks since Kairi and I had gone on our first date.
We were in the living room when Riku walked in.
"How's the newlywed couple doing?"
"We're doing great", Kairi replied.
"I'm glad", Riku replied. "Anyway, I'm here because I wanted to tell you guys that everyone's been talking about going on a camping trip together."
"Camping?"
"That sounds like fun", Kairi pointed out. "Let's do it!"
The Next Night
Our group had been walking all day to get to the campsite. It was now night time…and we were all exhausted.
"My feet are killing me", Ven revealed.
"Don't loose heart", Aqua encouraged. "We're almost there."
Aqua was right, because a few moments later…we had arrived at the campsite!
"Finally", I said in relief.
"Thank goodness", Kairi said in relief.
However, we then both looked at the campsite, and were surprised.
It had been decorated with a bunch of chairs, tables filled with treats, a whole bunch of decorations, and a giant screen.
"What's all this", Kairi asked.
Then, we turned to around to look at everybody, who all looked at us mischievously.
"Um", I started. "Guys? Anybody want to fill us in here?"
"Gladly Sora", I heard a familiar voice say.
Then I turned around, and saw the king standing on the stage right by the giant screen.
"Your majesty", I asked in confusion. "What's going on?"
With that, the king smiled.
"Hit it", he commanded.
Then, the screen lit up…and these words appeared on it.
Happy one month wedding anniversary Sora and Kairi!
"Huh", I asked in confusion. "Wedding anniversary?"
"That's right", Kairi said in realisation. "It's been a month since you and I got married! I totally forgot!"
"We figured you guys did", Riku revealed as he walked up to us. "That's why we decided to throw this surprise party for you to celebrate."
After hearing this, Kairi and I looked at everybody, and smiled.
"That's wonderful", Kairi stated. "Thank you all so much!"
"Yeah", I replied. "Thank you."
"Eh", Axel said. "Don't sweat it. Now, come on, let's get this party started!"
With that, our friends took our hands and led Kairi and I to chairs.
"Alright", the king started. "To start off this anniversary party, we have prepared a slideshow of your life together as a married couple!"
With that, the slideshow began…and it was all the pictures Kairi and I took together.
Seeing these pictures made me think back to why Kairi wanted to take them.
"I want to keep a record of our life together as a married couple. That way, we can look back on it when we grow old together."
After I thought about this, I smiled before grabbing Kairi's hand.
She looked at me before smiling back.
"Has it really been only a month", I asked.
"Yep", Kairi replied.
Then, she gripped my hand tightly.
"Here's to many more months together."
"Here's to forever."
