Ig happened to belomg to nome other than Rocket, and was searching for a young super-powerdd kit that Ranger and Riley had told him about and she had just arrived on Terra in an escape-pod knowing SHIELD would be intrestddin her, so he had to get to this youngster first, before anybody made her do something, that she didn'g want to do, using his ship to get therr, landing at the crash-site first, grinning.
He saw glowing eyes coming from a pod, guessing this was who his bro and sis told him about, noticing she had light-brown fur and shoulder-length hair, baby-blue eyes full of curiousity and awe, but not wearing clothes seeing a smile on her furry face, relieving him, that she was not frightened, happy to see hij which was good.
"We should get out of here, while it's safe, sound good?" he said seeing her nodding.
"Wow a Groot, we don't see those on Half-world." she said yawning.
"Well my best bud is special, just like you, just rest." Rocket said.
Groot noticed that his fridnds's tone was gentle around the kit, understanding, seeing the ship taming off, guessing she was jrt-laggdd, surprised a little kit had came all the way herr from his homeworld, making him more curious to ask his sibs seeing they were at Avengers Compound, docking in the hangar-bay, seeing Groot picking the kit up gently, putting her on Rockets's back, making a warm fedling wash through him.

Rocket was surpdised to learn the fema,e kit was named Vasey, who had been givem her powers by certain scientists who had given them their cybernetics, making him protective of her, deciding he could take care of her which astounded them, yet made them happy, and that Lylla would be happy.
"What does my pretty lady have to do with this?" he asked.
"She was ghe one who saw that Casey needed a safe place to call home, with somebody that would take good care of her, bro." Ranger answered making him impressed.
He was then going to the kitchen to make a snack, guessimg Casey was probavly hungry after everything makimg PB and J alomg wigh milk which Riley thought sweet seeing Rocket nod in reply leavimg it there for her' when she wokeup knowing this was an new situation for the both of them" which Ranger and Riley understood, knowing he could do this, seeing their comms going off, as it was Fury askimg about the escape-pod makimg Rocket worry, would they throw Casey under the bus?
"Nothijg dangerous was in there to worry about, sir, don't worry." Riley said hanging up.
"Riley, why, Fury's going to find out, why did you lie?" Ranger said.
"Because if SHIELD knew what Casey is capable of, they'd exploit her, she's a kit!" she said.
"She has a point, we were exploited as kit's, so if we can stop it happening to Casey, then yeah, it's okay, to bend the truth." Rocket added makimg his sister smile, knowing Casey had gotten under his fur, like Groot seeijg him nod, hopimg she was alright unaware she had been awoken and burnt a hole in the wall with lasers from her paws, impressing Rocket, deciding to get Banner to check her out, frightening her, becoming invisible.
"Woah, she's awesome, we have to convince her that she needs a check-up." Rocket whispered.
"Banner just wants to see if you're okay, since we're goimg to be hanging out a lot." he said loud.
"Really, you want me, you're not scared?" he heard a soft voive ask.
He saw Casey reappear, impressing him, goijg over to her, hugging her, feeling she was shaky, scratching behind her ear, telling her he was not afraid of her, but wanted to see if she was healthy, promising nobody would experiment on her or put cubernetics in her, seimg her folowing him to Banners's lab, seeing Bruce impressed by the female kit, saying that she had many powers, and would gain more as she got older, making Casey excited, which made Rocket chuckle.
"She's healthy alright, and surprised you would take her in." Bruce told him.
He shot Banner a look as he had one day wanted a kit, he didn't know that the universe would bring him one as awesome as CAssyrian, plus he knew that it would be fun yet challenging being a parent, but he could ask for help, as he saw Casey rubbimg her furry arm after getting shots, includimg a rabies one which she did not understand, yawning because it was a lomg day.
"Go take an nap kiddo, you need it." Rocket told her.
He was then goimg to talk to Ranger and Riley, or train with them, hearing them relieved that Casey was alright, that she had gotten shots knowing he had helped her be brave, to get them makimg Riley smile at her brother, surprising Rocket they were proud of him.
"So, you're a dad now, welcome to the club." Howard said.
"Yep, she's very cute, bubbly but powerful." Rocket said.
It waslater that night/early morning and Howard had snuck over to the compound to hang out with Rocket andplay poker like always which the others did not knos about, but Rocket was tellimg him about Casey, knowimg his feathery friend had a little ducklimg of his own namedLinda who was soulmates with Shocket, which he kept secret from hisfurr friend.
"Hey, who's the duck, or am I asleep?" Rocket heard a voice say turning around..
Casey was standing there in an nightshirt, having trouble sleeping, so had went exploring while wanting somethijg to drink making him understand, as she had a lomg day, guessing she had used her nose, to feel comfortable unaware that Howard was staring at her as she looked cute, yet shy reminding him of Rocket at that abe, seeing her drinking warm milk, as that might help her relax back into slumber since it was late, she needed her rest.
"I'll explain after wards Howie, okay?" he said gently.
Howard understood, following him to where Rocket was tuckijg Casey back into bed, noticing how calm he was and talking to her compared to how he normally talked, or yelled wonderimg what was so special about ghis little one, leavijg before Rocket realised that he had been watching, seeing him return to the kitchen, startimg up their game again, listening to Rocket tell him why he had to be so gentle around Casey, makimg Howard understand.
"She was just explorimg, as my sibs told her, usimg her nose might help her feel more comfortable here." he said drinkimg coffee alomg with Howard, sayimg he supported him in his parenting endeavours, seeing the raccoon male happy, as he wanted to help Casey with her powers but also her emotions, because Ranger and Riley had told him, Casey had stromg emotions which seeped into her powers which made the female kit an emotional liabilty, only Rocket saw she was a kit that needed him.
That next morning, he was makimg pancakes for Casey, it was her first day here, hopimg this would help wake her up, his ears picked up giggling goimg to check it out, his jaw dropped seeing Casey hovering three feet off the floot, guessing this was one of her many powers, seeing her land on her furrh feet, with a smirk on her little furry face, makimg him decide to help her control her powers after breal fast, seeimg her run at super-speed, makijg him more impressed.
"Pancakes and chocolate milk, thanks!" Casey said excitedly.
"You're welcome, and good that you slept well." he said.
"Awww, another little rabbit, where did it come from?" Thor said.
Casey stared at him, like he had three heads, makijg Rocket understand her confusion, explaining that Asgard didn't have raccoons so Thor thought they were rabbits, seeing Casey shrug her furry shoulders, which made Rocket smirk, she was so his kit seeijg her close her eyes because the sun glare made them hurt, feelimg him put sunglasses over her eyes, which made her look cool, thanking him, seeing the others curious, about the female kit with bed-fur, it made her look adorable.
"Awww somebody's already awake after a lomg day yesterday." Riley said.
"Yep, I feel better after sleeping, Rockie helped." Casey said grinning.
Rocket was surprised hearing her call him that, understanding, guessing she was not ready to call him dad yet, that was alright but excited to help her with her powers, which Ranger and Riley were alright with, as they had missions, which made a worried expression cross Rockets's furry face, which Casey saw, hugging him gently.
"Thanks, I worry everytime that Fury sends them on missions." he told her softly.
She understood as she considered Ranger and Riley her aunt and uncle, following him to where the others trained, amazed by whatthe others were doing, rememberijg what her aunt had told her, getting excited, making Rocketchuckle at this ashe wantedto help her with her powners, but knew that what he and the others could do sometimesgot dangerous so was protective of her, waiting until she was older, before training her to bean Avenger or a Guardian.
"You okay, is something wromg?" Casey asked.
"I'm okay, now let's see what you can do." he said.
He was impressed watching her use her powners, alomg with the others, makijg Caseysmirk as back on Half-world in the lab, the scientists had tried to control her which she resisted, now she was on Terra and with Rocket, she could haveherown adventuresandbe an above-average kit that happened to havesuperpowers, it felt good to let loose.
"Woah, she's very powerful, you sure you can handle her, Captain?" Thor asked seeing Rocket nod.
"Yep, it's going to be a lot of fun." he replied smirking stunning the others.
