It was the next morning in the compound, and Casey had woken up in her own bed, as she was still getting used to having her room, touched that her dad had made her her own room with Groot helpijg him, stretching getting up as she was excitable, about what the day would bring using her super-speed power to get to the kitchen impressimg Ranger and Riley, makimg Rocket smirk, as she had slept the whole night without getting up, or sleepimg in his bed with him seeing her drinkimg orangs juice, watching him flip pancakes.
"He's gonna miss, or it'll end up on the ceilijg." Ranger whispered to her.
"Hey, I can hear you, I'm not gonna miss." Rocket replied, catchijg them in the pan, seeing Casey applaud, alomg with Riley grinning at Ranger scowling, he had wanted Rocket to miss, or make a mess seeing Rocket chuckle makijg coffee for them, seeing Thor enter, wondering what was so funny.
"Oh nothijg, just making breakfast." Rocket replied.
He also was thinkijg that maybe, Casey should go to school like all kids seeing Ranger and Riley curious, until his phone went off, as it was Lylla which Casey was confused about, seeing her dad's cheeks go pink, while Ranger laughed at that until Riley elbowed hik seeing Rocket relieved by this.
"Who's Lylla, a friend of yours?" Casey asked.
"She's his soulmate, or his pretty lady." Ranger told her.
"Ranger, not cool!" Rocket yelled embarrassed.
"Awww, she's your mate." Casey replied.
Rocket smiled at her innocent thought, lettijg Ranger go, relieving Riley, because that wasn't a good example for Casey seeing her quiet, hearing about school, guessing she'd never did it, seeing the female kit shaking her furry head explaining, that she had been to school on Half-world, just the other kids had been scared of her, especially when her powers burst out, becomimg unseen through her cloakimg-power.
Rocket sighed, Casey was very special and needed time, so would help ease her into thimgs, like school seeing his brother and sis agree on this, seeing she had left the kitchen, worried callijg her name, seeing her appearing from oyt of nowherr, almost making him jump, seeing her hug him, feelijg shaky.
"Hey it's okay, we'll take our time with things like school." he reassured her.
"thanks, sorry for worrying you." she replied softly.
They were then going back to the kitchen to finish breakfast, relieving Ranger, Riley and the others, plus Rocket was surprised seeing Howard here with his daughters, Linda and Shocket, as he was a SHIELD agent and he couldn't leave his kids unsupervised when he went on missions, so figured they could come here, where it was safe seeing Casey curious, a little shy.
"It's alright sweetie, you can trust them, maybe make friends with them." Rocket assured her.
"Okay, I guess I can try, plus Shocket has hair like Aunt Carol's." Casey replied.
Shocket was surprised hearing her say this, exploring with Linda, seeing Casey following after them, relieving Howard and Rocket making Ranger and Riley exchange a look, hearing Hulk yelling, seeing Shocket being her usual self with Linda amused by her friend and soulmates's antics, despite Casey being worried, creating a forcefield, to protect them, in case Hulk went Code Green.
"It's okay kids, we've got this, go do something that doesn't get you into mischief." Riley heard Carol say, knowing it had been Shocket that had upset Hulk, not Casey seeing her niece lower her forcefield, seeing Shocket run off with Linda, which Rocket understood saying it would not be too long, but proud of how she was dealing with it, seeing her nod.
"I hope that Shocket calms down, you know?" she muttered.
Thankfully it was almost lunchtime, meaning that Linda and Shocket would be leaving, seeing her cousins being picky with food annoying her, making a laser blast shoot out of her paw, narrowly missing Shockets's mohawk, seeing her annoyed, starting a fight until Casey's powers spurted out, causing a mini-earthquake, surprising everybody, but Rocket knowing Shocket had really did it.
"Why're you hugging her, she's being bad!" Shocket said.
"No she's not, you made this happen, I'm trying to calm her ." Rocket said.
After a while, Casey was beginning to calm down, so the earthquake was easing, relieving everybody, only Casey was frightened, saying she was sorry, feeling her dad rubbing her back, assuring her it was not.
Casey was in her room, in a furry ball on her bed, cuddling the stuffed otter which her dad had given her unaware the door had opened and that her dad had walked in as he had been worrying about her, after Howard, Linda and Shocket had left plus he had explained to the others, about her powers so she was surprised that he wanted to be around her.
"What happened wasn't your fault, Shocket was behind it all, wasn't she?" Rocket told her seeing her nod.
"Yep, she upset Hulk, even though I said, it was a bad idea." she replied.
He was relieved that she was feelijg better, as Lylla was coming over and she would want to see, how Casey was doijg and having dinner with them, meaning he had to get ready for this, like taking a bath amusing the female kit.
"When you find your own soulmate, you'll understand." he said.
She was seeing him leaving, yawning because of the morning's excitement, along with her powers unleashing, so an nap was alright, lying down and cuddling Lyllie which was what she had named the stuffed otter that Rocket had given her, drifting off into slumber relieving Riley, knowing Shocket wasn't the right friend for her, knowing the right one was out there.
