The Chemistry In Darkness

Chapter Eighty-One

Monday 3rd March 2025

Elly had spent the better part of the last five years been able to move quicker than almost anyone she was around whom wasn't a werewolf like her.

But on this particular day, someone whom wasn't a werewolf like her, moved quicker than Elly did.

Pierce stood on the same beach as the recently reunited couple, fifty meters away from them. He'd brandished a shotgun and without any restraint, Pierce aimed it directly at Elly, wanting to kill the woman to get her out of Chloe's life for good.

A shotgun loaded with the one thing that could kill a werewolf with a painful torturous poison – silver bullets.

Elly might have been quick but she hadn't worked out what Chloe had until the bullet shot from the shotgun was halfway between Pierce and herself. As the bullet spun in the air, Elly realized Pierce was trying to kill her with a silver bullet.

It was too late for Elly to move out of the path of the bullet, it was coming right at her.

But it wasn't too late for Chloe to do what she already was in the middle of when she had realized the bullet was silver before Elly had.

Chloe stepped in front of Elly to protect her from certain death.

The silver bullet pierced Chloe's abdomen in an instant, throwing the blonde backwards into Elly's arms, as they both fell backwards to the sand behind them.

Pierce froze in shock as he realized his mistake had led to Chloe been shot.

Elly recovered from the shock of been slammed backwards into the sand.

But Chloe hadn't recovered quite as much as Elly had. She had a silver bullet lodged in her abdomen, the blood starting to flood from her body. Placing her hand against the bullet wound, trying to stem the bleeding, Chloe glanced up at Elly in shock, "Elly…our baby…"

Elly already had tears in her eyes as she watched the woman that she loved with her entire being, lying there in her arms, bleeding slowly from the bullet intended for her, which had struck Chloe where their baby was growing.

"It'll be okay," Elly whispered in as much reassurance as she could, "Our baby will be fine. We'll get you to hospital, patch you up and you'll be home in mine and Aster's arms before you know it."

"Yeah?" Chloe wanted Elly to promise her they'll both be okay.

But their moment together was broken when Pierce shouted in anguish, "Chloe! I never meant to…God, Chloe, please be okay!"

Pierce hadn't gotten any closer to the couple, he couldn't bare to see the woman he loved be tended to by the monster that was Elly, but he didn't know what he could possibly do. He never meant to get Chloe hurt, he was aiming at Elly, and now his wife was lying in Elly's arms. And he realized that Chloe was panicking over the baby because of where she'd taken the bullet.

Elly whispered her reassurances into Chloe's ear that she was going to get her help and their baby would survive this because their baby was a miracle.

Elly, Chloe and Pierce suddenly looked up as at the top of the beach, came Abby and Clarke.

The two members of The Pack had heard the gunshot and immediately ran to the beach to investigate. Had time slowed down and Elly had been crying with Chloe lying in her arms, bleeding more and more, longer than she realized?

It felt like that to the two women.

Elly yelled up to Abby and Clarke, "Save her! Get Chloe and our baby to the hospital now!"

Pierce's jaw dropped at the insinuation that Elly called Chloe's baby hers.

As Abby and Clarke rushed towards them from the direction furthest away from Pierce, Clarke yelled back, "What about you?"

Elly kissed Chloe's forehead, "I love you, Chlo! Don't you dare fucking die on me!"

Chloe struggled for a moment as she felt Elly pull away from her, leaving her lying on her side, holding her hand to her bullet wound.

Before Abby and Clarke had made it to Chloe, Elly yelled at them again to "Save them!" then glared angrily at Pierce.

Elly took several steps towards Pierce, leading the man to re-launch his shotgun in the air at Elly's direction.

Abby and Clarke reached Chloe, with Abby immediately going to work to do what she could to help stem the bleeding any more, even though she didn't have her medical equipment with her. Abby did what she could to make Chloe as comfortable as she could be, lying on the beach with a bullet wound to her gut, fearing for the life of her baby and her own life.

Clarke wanted to stop Elly but she knew if Lexa had been shot like Chloe had, then she'd have done exactly what Elly was about to. So, she stayed with Chloe and followed Abby's instructions as she barked them out to her.

Knowing that Chloe was safe in Abby and Clarke's hands, Elly didn't hesitate to rush forwards.

Within an instant, Elly was standing directly in front of Pierce, his shotgun centimeters from her face.

Pierce stepped backwards in surprise at how fast Elly had moved, but he gritted his teeth in confidence, "I know what you are, Elly! You're a monster!"

"You're the monster, Pierce! You could've killed Chloe and our baby!" Elly yelled in anger.

Pierce scoffed, "You think I don't know what you are! You're a fucking werewolf! You might be able to move quick but you're not quicker than a speeding silver bullet! It's not even the Full Moon, Elly! You can't turn into a werewolf without the moon!"

"You don't know a fucking thing! If Chloe or our baby die…you die," Elly threatened, losing control of her anger.

As Pierce moved to press his finger against the shotgun trigger to eliminate Elly once and for all, Pierce suddenly froze.

Elly glared at Pierce; her anger transformed.

As did Elly.

Before his very eyes, Elly suddenly transformed into a werewolf.

But not the werewolf that had haunted the streets of Erinsborough several months ago whilst Elly had been in town.

Not the werewolf whom Chloe kept mistaking for a dog.

This werewolf wasn't in any of the drawings or painted pictures that had been in the books he'd read every word on about werewolves.

This werewolf stood nearly three meters tall, with Elly's clothes falling away from her body, as she grew to fill out this wolf's body. The entire wolf grew fur all over it and stood on two hind legs. Elly's arms had transformed too and the only thing Pierce could see was the two claws that had replaced Elly's hands. The claws had fingernails sharper than anything he ever imagined.

Then there were the werewolf's eyes.

Elly's blue eyes had been replaced entirely by a set that were fiery red.

WolfElly's eyes were as angry at Pierce as Elly was.

Pierce had never expected this version of a werewolf. All his research into the monsters fell away. All the weapons he had collected from Rene and brought with him were not strong enough to save Pierce from this WolfElly.

The only thing that could possibly save Pierce from this WolfElly was running away.

But Pierce could not move.

Pierce was frozen in absolute fear that he'd not only nearly killed the woman he loved but had let loose the monster that was claiming Chloe's baby was theirs.

Nothing could make Pierce's legs work and allow him to run away as far away from WolfElly as he could possibly get.

Pierce's finger was still holding the trigger of the shotgun in front of WolfElly.

And yet, his finger, nor any part of his body was working, he was completely frozen in terror that he was about to be killed in revenge for shooting Chloe.

Then a part of Pierce's body did work.

The bottle of water Pierce had refreshed himself with on his boat trip over to the Island, became a regret that he had once more consumed any kind of liquid.

Because Pierce's penis worked.

Squirting the bottle of water out as urine all over his beige pants for all to see as he wet himself standing there staring up at WolfElly whom stood over him.

Pierce gulped, embarrassed that WolfElly couldn't have killed him before he had pissed his pants.

WolfElly hadn't even noticed Pierce had pissed himself.

WolfElly had lost control of the version of herself that was Elly, whom should have been lying back up the beach with Chloe in her arms, reassuring her mate that she would live and their baby would survive.

WolfElly heard Chloe shouting out to her, "Elly! Don't do this! Please! Our baby needs you!"

Chloe's cries, pleading with WolfElly not to become the monster that would kill her husband even though she knew he deserved it for all the pain he had caused her, didn't stop WolfElly.

Or did they?

Because WolfElly could've snapped Pierce's neck in multiple places. She could've grabbed Pierce and thrown him 20 meters away, slamming his body against the body of rocks near them. She could've thrown him into the ocean and drowned him. She could've ripped every limb from his body and watched him sit there in agony, dying from the blood loss. She could've ripped his penis from his body to make him suffer an ironic death for sexually assaulting her mate in an attempt to get her pregnant to him. She could've grabbed his head and torn it from his shoulders, decapitating him. She could've shoved the shotgun down his throat and accidently pulled the trigger in the process.

There were lots of horrible, agonizing, painful things WolfElly could've inflicted on the man whom risked her entire future with her mate and her baby by trying to kill her only to end up shooting them.

But WolfElly did listen to Chloe and she didn't murder Pierce.

WolfElly did much worse, without thinking of the consequences.

WolfElly reached out her claw, slashing it downwards against Pierce's chest, the shotgun knocked out of his hands, as her claws drew blood from his chest.

Pierce fell backwards onto the sand.

Pierce shook his head as his entire body spasmed, wondering why WolfElly hadn't killed him.

Not realizing that WolfElly had made things so much worse for all of them.

WolfElly had let Pierce live.

But not as the man he once was.

On the Full Moon cycle later that month and every Full Moon cycle for the rest of his new life, The Pack was going to have a new member whom was destined to turn into a werewolf and need to learn their ways of life from The Pack member whom turned him...

Pierce Greyson was now a werewolf!

Next time - Oh WolfElly, what have you done? It's Pierce's humanity that has bitten the dust and in his place is Pierce the Werewolf - is he destined to be stuck in Chelly's lives forever now that he's been turned into a werewolf? Will Chloe and ChellyBaby get the help they need to survive?
