If she never heard the annoying sound of James Blunt telling whoever was listening that 'You're beautiful' ever again, it would still be a day too soon. But everyone else in the room was apparently enjoying it.

The only thing she was enjoying however was the moves that were currently being busted out on the dance floor across from her. The four delinquents that were currently moving to the beat, or in Kelly's case not moving to the beat, was a sight that she would forever treasure in her memories. If the camera was working on her phone she wouldn't have hesitated to film them.

The only thing that bothered her, aside from the music, was her Great Aunt Ruth. The woman had happily embraced her upon seeing her, telling her how good it was to see her. But the woman's happy mood had quickly vanished when Nathan had taken a seat on the other side of the room, looking rather glum himself. Elsie had been watching Ruth take hesitant glances in his direction every few seconds, and wondered what the hell could be going on.

The moment she had laid eyes on the Irish twat that morning, she had decided to stay out of his way. It was apparent just how miserable he was as he hadn't even approached any of them. Though to the others this was apparently a relief.

"Aunty Ruth, what's wrong?" She had had enough of the silence that emanated from the older woman. Not to mention the silence that from her Aunt Rita and Uncle Richard. If they were quiet, something was definitely wrong.

"Mmm?" The woman beside her finally turned to look at her.

"What's wrong?" She took her Aunt's hand in hers.

She received no answer, but instead the woman risked a look over her shoulder at Nathan.

"Is something going on?"

"Leave it Elsie." Rita snapped from the other side of her.

"How can I leave it when something is so obviously wrong?" She was again met with silence. "So will someone please tell me what's going on?" The three oldies looked between each other as if mentally debating with one another wether or not to tell her. "Aunty Ruth, I honestly don't know how the hell you know Nathan, but something has clearly happened with him, please just go and talk to him, I can't take anymore of your wistful stares." She stood up from her chair and pushed the walking frame her Aunt needed in front of the woman. With only a slight argument breaking out between the four of them, Elsie helped her Great Aunt stand and watched as she ever so slowly made her way over to the Irish Twat. "What the fuck is going on?" She hissed to the remaining relatives as she took her seat.

"You know that storm"? Her Uncle Richard questioned.

"Richard!" Ruth spat angered that he was spilling secrets.

"She deserves to now Ruth!" It was enough to shut his sister up.

"I know that storm, yeah." Internally, she began to panic; if they knew about the storm, who else had gained a power? She had told them nothing about her power, didn't plan on ever telling them. The only reason they would look so worried about telling her this was if someone they knew had a power.

"Well, your Great Aunt Ruth got struck by the lightening." Her eyes widened at hearing this.

"Well...It's a miracle she's not dead." She didn't know what else to say.

"Yes." Richard looked up and across the floor to watch his younger sister get closer to Nathan. "She gained the ability to make herself younger." If Elsie had been taking a drink, she would have spat it all back out.

Suddenly, the image of the pretty blonde hugging her with such familiarity the other day came to mind, the comforting smell of her perfume. It all started adding up.

"Are you saying...?" Her head quickly turned to watch as Nathan sat up straight, a disgusted look taking over his features as he watched her Great Aunt get closer to him. "Are you saying that blonde girl from Tuesday...that was my Great Aunt?" She only received a nod in reply, a nod she completely missed as she was waiting to see what would happen.

She continued to watch as Nathan stood quickly from his seat and ran outside. She could only imagine the heartbroken look on her Aunt's face. She wasted no more time and stood abruptly, taking hurried steps over to her, helping her into the seat Nathan had just vacated and crouching in front of her when the walking frame wasn't in the way.

"Are you alright?" Elsie watched as a stray tear escaped from her Aunt's eye. She delved into the pocket of her jeans and retrieved a clean tissue for her.

"I was looking for him earlier. Then I found him. I just wanted to say thank you and to apologise."

"Apologise for what Aunty Ruth?"

"Oh my darling." The older woman leaned forward in her chair to rest the palm of her hand against Elsie's cheek. "Don't ever shag a man younger than you." Elsie chuckled and leaned into the gentle touch.

"Did you have sex with him then?" But her Aunt's silence was all the answer she needed. She took the hand from her face and held it tenderly in her own. She stood, and turned to face the door Nathan had used as his escape, but caught the questioning look from Kelly. Elsie merely shook her head lightly and moved to get her Aunt a fresh cup of tea.

The knocks on her door were becoming increasingly louder. They seemed to become quicker too, leaving no space between knocks for her to shout out that she was coming. If she had a doorbell, she was certain whoever was at her door would be holding it down with one finger. This thought was swiftly followed by relief that she had made the thing explode after Nathan had done it one morning.

"I'm coming!" She shouted without any hope of being heard as she left her bedroom, not bothering to even check her appearance, the urgency of the person at her door worrying her too much for such actions.

With nimble fingers, she made quick work of the locks, ( from all the years of practice she had had,) and opened the door so quickly, it almost banged into the wall behind it. Not that there wasn't already a dent in it from all the previous times she had slammed it open.

There, with his fist raised as if he was about to knock again, was Rudy, a worried look upon him as his he finally took the sight of her in. Now, she deeply regretted not bothering to sleep in pyjama bottoms. The over sized button up shirt she had on barely reached her mid thighs and she dreaded whatever flirty comment the male before her was about to utter.

"Did I wake yer?" It wasn't what she had expected, so it wasn't really much of a surprise that she couldn't speak for what felt like minutes, but were probably in actual fact, five seconds.

"Yeah-"

"Oh-"

"No, no it's fine." She shook her head slightly, running her fingers through the tangled hair on top of her head as she went. "Did you want to come in?"

"Oh, no, no you're alright." He fidgeted awkwardly, switching the light blue bag he was carrying to the other hand.

"So what was it you wanted?" She attempted to run a hand through the mess at the back of her head but gave up with a sigh when she ended up tugging somewhat painfully on a bunch of knots.

"I just...I just wanted to come and say thank you...and...bye." The bag switched hands again.

"Are you going somewhere?" If she hadn't been completely awake before, she certainly was now. She opened the door wider and leaned against the frame, not caring if anyone caught sight of her in her nightwear. She was much more concerned with the guy in front of her.

"Wales."

"Wales?" She crossed her arms over her chest.

"'e says 'e's got no intention of goin' there."

"You're going to Wales because the other Rudy won't ever go there?" She wanted to make sure she was grasping what she was hearing.

"Yer."

"And I suppose that you're going to Wales because he doesn't want you in his life anymore?"

"I don't think 'e wanted me in first place." The Rudy before her cast his eyes downward and mumbled to his feet.

"But last night made him even more comfortable with his choices?" She received no answer as he shifted his bag again. "Have you had something to eat?" He shook his head. "Then come in." She moved away into the kitchen, knowing he would only try to convince her he wasn't hungry. She smiled when she heard the door shut and the rustle of clothing as he followed her.

"You don't 'ave to." He fidgeted on his feet. It seemed he did that rather a lot. "I'm not 'ungry."

"What if I want to?" She shrugged. "What do you fancy?"

"I...I wouldn't mind a bacon sandwich." Apparently her smile was enough to encourage him to deposit his bag on the floor as she opened the fridge to retrieve the necessary ingredients.

"Though it does mean I owe you three." She giggled at his words, glad to know he still remembered.

"What time is it?" She asked. It was now her turn to shift around uncomfortably as she attempted to pull the shirt down her legs even further even though she knew it wouldn't.

"'bout 'alf seven." She whistled in astonishment.

"I haven't been up this early since I was on Community Service."

"What the 'eck were you doin' on Community Service?" As she watched the bacon begin to sizzle, she thought back to the day, the reason she had to wear that orange jumpsuit. The reason she had been where she was when the lightening had struck, the reason she was friends with the others. It still made her sad to think of that day. It had after all, started off rather nicely, turning downhill in seconds. But that was usually how her days went. It was nothing new.

"Elsie." She looked up to find a Rudy standing beside her, his hand raised halfway to her arm as if he was unsure wether or not he should touch her. "You alright?"

"Mmhm." She nodded and flipped the bacon over.

"Why were you on Community Service?" He whispered to her.

"It's a long story." She eventually answered.

"Do you not want to talk abou' it?" She chewed the inside of her cheek, willing the sudden wave of emotions to go away. She shook her head, sure if she used her voice it would crack.

Finally and ever so gently, he placed his hand on her arm, reaching into the bread bin on the counter beside them with his free hand at the same time, helping to complete his breakfast.

Only when the bacon was safely in between the bread, the sandwich neatly presented on a plate did she speak. "I'm just gonna go get dressed. There's ketchup in the fridge if you want any." He nodded ever so slightly and released her arm.

To Elsie it had felt strange. She was used to feeling a hand somewhere upon her body. But it was more out of possession than anything. The hand that had just released her had felt anything but. It had felt caring and she wouldn't have minded if he'd left it there all day.

Quickly, she dressed herself. Her usual choice of jeans and a t shirt wasn't hard for her to pick out; the knots in her hair however were not so easy.

She stalled by the door as she was about to leave.

On the bed-side table, was a framed picture. It was really the only picture she actually liked of herself. In it, she was actually smiling, but she wasn't looking at the camera, she was looking instead at the woman beside her. It always felt as if the gaze of her Gran was searching inside her for something. Now was no different. But searching for what, she was always unsure. Before she could begin to think however, she moved from the room, back towards the kitchen to find Rudy sitting at the table, trying to make himself seem as small as possible.

"You can relax you know." She took the seat opposite him, chuckling when at the sound of her voice.

"Aren't you eatin'?"

"Not hungry. But I'll stuff myself come lunchtime though." She turned her head to look out the balcony window beside her, letting the silence take over. It looked as if it was going to be a rather nice day. It was just a shame that she was probably going to spend most of it behind the bar.

"Will you come wi' me?" She snapped her focus back to the guy before her, unsure if she had heard right.

"Huh?"

"I said, will you...will you come wiv me?" Now she was confused. Had he continued talking while she had been looking out the window?

She smirked, crossing her arms on the table. "To Wales?" If she hadn't been watching him closely, she would have missed the red tint his cheeks took on.

"No. I meant...I meant to the Community Centre. I've got a few things in me locker I want to take wi' me." He mumbled to the table.

"Give me two minutes to brush my teeth and I even walk you to the train station if you like?" She didn't bother waiting for an answer. Only got up and moved to the bathroom, grabbing a hair band on her way.
