morning came followed by an exhausting day fill with mind numbingly boring work that left Shohei's body tired and his mind bored. he was not built for this. a life time of studying and reading had left his mind sharp but is body weak. he fell asleep in the trail for a bit, before stumbling out and taking the long path to the temple. what day was it? friday? sunday? it didnt seemt to matter. stuff had to get built, bodies were needed to move things. he got paid. for what exactly, he couldn't even remember.

showering, falling asleep in the tub and almost drowning in the lukewarm water was his que to get out and go to bed. "why am i so tired?" he muttered, not realizing his pillow was a pair of legs, his blanket draped with wings.

"its tiring, cramming all that into you mind. sleep is for rest, not university." came Elegance's soft voice.

"oh." was all he could say before he was back in dream land.

"hello Shohei!" came Ele's all to chipper voice. he turned around, finding himself in the rain, in boot and cammo with people crawling in the mud.

"im not going to like this, am I?" he said, finally getting a look at the angel. for once she was dressed normal, in fatiuges and avaiator glasses holding a clip board.

"So! today we see if you really want to learn this in a hurry." she said, leering at him with her eyes over the rim of the glasses. there was a glint of sexuality, mixed with something that alarmingly promised pain and suffering, and not the kinky kind.

"..." he paused, almost sighing. "Why?"

"well i thought you'd want to get this over faster, and you know what they say, suffering is good for the soul." she chuckled lightly.

"sure." he said, steeling himself. he needed an edge. his father had taken this way more personally than he thought. there was litterally no one who would hire him.

"hey," she said, leaning into him, her forhead almost touching his, "its okay to do this the slow way. belldandy won't care."

"but i care." was all he could say.

"okay." she said with a warm smile before handing over the clipboard and a pencil. "for every wrong question... well just don't get any wrong." she said as she pulled out a giant halberd from somewhere behind her. "did i mention that fingers grow back here?"
