Three years after Jae and Deku fell off the map, we find them in America, finishing up their plans to begin their attack on the world. New friends have been gathered along the way, and with her new team, Jae exposes the false heroes and all those that have wronged her in the past. How are Jae and Deku's relationship fairing after three years?
So, this chapter is the longest one I've written, over 20 pages! There will be some OC dumps in this one, I've introduced a lot of new characters so if you have any questions just ask and I'll explain. Also, I have a little bonus for you guys after my Authors note at the end!
Chapter 11: 3 Years Later, Gathering
Running above the city as she jumped from rooftop to rooftop, she kept her movements silent. Approaching her destination, she slowed to the edge of the roof, ducking low so she wouldn't be spotted. Sirens echoed in the distance, reminding her that she was on a tight schedule and that being caught wasn't an option, not that she was careless enough to be caught.
The wind was comforting as it flowed through her waist length hair as she adjusted her gloves. Her eyes picked up on movement as she saw her target leave the abandoned warehouse and head towards the pier. She tapped the small device in her ear, "The target is on the move, heading towards the docks."
Her message was short and to the point as she continued to follow her target from above as they walked swiftly through the dimly lit streets. She could tell that he was nervous, by his quickened pace and his wandering eyes. Her earpiece buzzed as a response flowed through.
"Intercept when ready, I want him brought in, alive."
"Well that's why you sent me, right?"
With her orders clear and, with no one around to witness, she jumped down from her hiding spot as the man took a shortcut through an alley. The man jumped back in shock at her sudden appearance, moving to run out of the alley the way he came in.
She just flexed her hand and a wall of ice blocked his escape. The man turned his panicked gaze to her when he realized he was trapped. Needles sprouted from every part of his body as he activated his quirk. "S-Stay back! You'll get hurt if I fight you!" His voice trembled as he tried to sound intimidating. She just laughed, flicking her hair over her shoulder as she stepped into the light.
Her long hair flowed down her back in loose curls as her dark bangs framed her face. She wore a black crop top and red flowing pants with black ankle boots to match. Two holsters were sown into the pants, holding some kind of weapons. Red wrist length fingerless gloves were on her hands and two silver bands were wrapped around her biceps. Red shades rested on the top of her head and a strange diamond shaped mark was shown on the center of her chest, a dark red color.
Shining purple eyes glistened with amusement as she stared at the pitiful man before her, two red hearts painted beside her eyes.
"That's not likely Vince, you won't even be a challenge." Her hands moved towards the hosters on her hips as she never took her eyes off her target.
"The Red Queen!" He shivered as her dominating presence overwhelmed him. "He sent you!" Opening the pouches, she pulled the weapons out, flicking open her black and red fans as she continued towards him.
"The Boss wants to have a few words with you. Won't you come quietly and save me some trouble?" She smiled sweetly as she stopped her approach a few feet away. The man stared at the fans, his eyes flicking between them and the sweet smile of the woman before him. Vince grit his teeth, knowing there was only one way out.
"Never!"
He charged at her, running as fast as he could as he tried to get the drop on her. One minute he was running towards her and the next she was gone. He stopped in shock, freezing in place when he felt a cool metal brush against his neck. He tried to turn his head but winced when the metal sliced a small line into his neck.
Glowing silver eyes met his own when he finally made out the figure behind him. He let out a shaky breath knowing he was caught. The needles retracted into his body as he relaxed. "I give up, you win."
Jae smiled sweetly once more. Keeping her sharpened fan to the man's neck. "Good choice Vince." She closed the fan with a snap, pulling it away from his neck before smashing the blunt end into the back of his skull. Her target fell to the ground with a dull thud, he wouldn't be waking up until morning.
"Mission accomplished." She informed through the ear piece, nuding the unconscious man with her boot. "Good work, I'll come get you now." With those words a thick green smoke surrounded her and her target, whisking them away from the empty alley, the wall of ice melting away as they disappeared.
In the alley just moments later, three sets of footsteps could be heard as they ran onto the scene. Their harsh breathing echoed in the alley as they stopped to catch their breath. "Damn it, she's not anywhere around here, that information must have been trash." The male said as he looked over the empty streets.
"Well then we'll just have to keep looking." the elder female spoke as she stared sadly into the shadows. The third member of their party sighed, turning around and moving back out of the alley.
"It's useless, we'll never find her." She crossed her arms and hung her head in defeat. A hand was rested on her shoulder, stopping her from moving away. She turned back and looked into the boy's bright blue eyes as he spoke.
"Don't give up Scar, we'll find her eventually." Anger coursed through her causing him to release her when he felt the strong aura reverberate through him. "No! We've been searching for her for three years now! We've never even gotten close enough to see her! Let alone convince her to come back with us!"
She took a few angry stomps away and paused when she heard a splash. Looking down, she saw her foot was in a puddle of water. She lifted her foot and shook off the water, pausing as a thought came to her.
"Aid, Kaden. It hasn't rained in the city since we arrived two weeks ago." She looked back at Aid, giving her a look of hope. Aid moved over to them and knelt down by the puddle. She dipped her hand in, noticing that the water was cold, to be specific it was just above freezing.
"This water is cold, it hasn't dropped below seventy degrees at night this week. This water is too cold to have been sitting here for even an hour." She stood, drying her hands on her pants as she looked back into the alley way. "She was just here. Our information wasn't wrong, we just missed her!"
"Damn it!" Kaden kicked the puddle in anger, moving away as he tried to calm himself. "You need to relax Kaden, we just-"
"How can I be calm when she was just here and we missed her!" Kaden moved closer to Scarlet, getting in her face as he yelled in his anger.
"Because Kaden." They both turned to look at Aid. "This means that she's here, and if she's here, we can find her."
"No known news has been gained on the villains' plans or where they could be." Nezu sat at his chair at the head of the table, his staff seated around him as they had their weekly meeting. "It's been three years now."
"After our battle with what we believed to be the Hassaikai, the League has gone practically underground." All Might sighed as he spoke, they haven't gotten any closer to saving his lost student, and the villains haven't attacked the school since then.
"Keyword there being practically." Everyone turned to Aizawa as he spoke. "I've been doing some recon in my spare time. Shigaraki is still here, and from the rumors going around the underworld it seems that Deku is no longer affiliated with the League."
"What do you mean Eraser? Deku was the leader of the League when All for One was put in prison." Midnight asked, the rest of the heroes just as interested in this new information.
"When Deku and Enderson disappeared three years ago, Deku disbanded the League." Aizawa started before he was interrupted.
"Wait a minute. Why would he disband his own forces? That doesn't sound very smart to me." Present Mike said callously as he leaned back in his seat and crossed his arms over his chest.
"That's true." Cementos added. "If Deku had plans to destroy the heroes, then why would he give up his forces?"
Aizawa yawned, obviously too tired to deal with all these questions. "If you would let me finish, I could tell you why." His tired eyes glared lightly at his colleagues as he insisted on getting this over with.
"Please continue Eraser, this is important information." Nezu encouraged him as he leaned closer in interest.
"From what I've heard from my contacts, Deku has been traveling around the world and creating new factions in each country he visits. He had no need for the league anymore, many of the previous members have decided to stay with him. Those few are Toga, Twice, and Dabi. There have been no sign of Toga and Twice, but there have been incidents where heroes have been burned to ashes around the country. This must be Dabi working on his own until Deku returns from his recruitment."
Everyone absorbed the information, knowing that there have been a few heroes over the years who have gone missing. Aizawa yawned once more before he continued.
"Last night, I found a group of info brokers who had some interesting information. In America, there is a new group of villains that have emerged in the past few years. They are known as the Face Cards, and their leader is known as the Red Queen."
"I happened to get some good information on the group. First we have the Jacks, there are four of them. The Jack of Spades had the power to freeze time. His partner is The Jack of Clubs, and he has the quirk of Deception, being able to tell a lie and make you believe it. Then we have the Jack of Hearts, she has the power to fly. Her partner is the Jack of Diamonds, and she can open portals that can teleport or go to alternate dimensions of her creations. These are their foot soldiers, their least powerful members"
Midnight decided to cut in. "Even though they may be foot soldiers, these quirks can be very useful if used properly, and I'm sure Deku has trained them well." Aizawa nodded his head for his answer and continued with his debriefing.
"Next is two of the Queens. The Queen of Spades has the ability to manipulate all plant life, and her partner the Queen of Clubs who has the power of bad luck. Their second in command is the Queen of Diamonds, and she has a powerful fire quirk. It is said that she is very close to the Red Queen. Her primary partner is the King of Diamonds, and he can control electrical currents and is thought to be able to turn himself into electricity."
"The last member is the King of Spades, he works either alone or directly with the Red Queen, he has the power of alchemy. This power can change anything into something else, as long as the molecular structure allows the change."
Aizawa paused, knowing there was only one member he had not discussed. "The leader of the group, The Red Queen, also known as the Queen of Hearts. She has the power of water and wind manipulation, and is Deku's right hand."
Tensions rose in the room as Aizawa finished. "Enderson." Midnight whispered as she immediately connected the dots. Aizawa sighed sadly. "Yes, The Red Queen is definitely Enderson. Although it may seem bad, at least we know she's alive and well."
"How dangerous is the group Eraser? What is their main mission focus?" Nezu asked softly, not knowing if they'd like the answer.
"That's the thing. This group has never killed. Their main focus is on information gathering, public appearances to help the people lose faith in heroes, exposing heroes who have dirty secrets, and some other purpose I could not figure out." All Might smiled slightly, relaxing in his seat as he absorbed the information.
"Even after all these years, Ms. Enderson is still alive and doesn't kill for that villain." He stood, his muscled form coming out for the first time in years, his fist raised high. "Hope is not lost, we can still save our wayward student, because we are here!"
Smiles formed on all of the heroes' faces as they stood from their chairs, raising their hands with All Might in a silent promise. After all these years, they would find their lost student, and bring her back into the light.
Jae sat on the roof of their mansion, basking in the afternoon sun as the light warmed her skin. She hymned softly as the breeze flowed through her hair, making it flow behind her in soft waves. A slight shift in the wind and an increase of heat alerted her to a presence on the ground below her. She smiled when she appeared on the edge of the roof, flames dissipating below her feet as she landed softly on the angled surface.
"I thought I'd find you here Jae." The girl said as she walked over to her, her short fiery red hair glowing in the rays of the sun. She wore an orange and yellow tube top with black flowing pants and red and orange boots. Two gold bands were around her biceps and red-orange fingerless gloves adorned her small hands. Two red diamonds adorned her face, right next to her crystal blue eyes.
"Well, you know me Ginger, the afternoon sun is always beautiful up here, and the breeze is calming. Although you tend to heat it up whenever you drop by." She teased as she greeted her old friend, standing up and giving her a hug.
Ginger returned the hug, before sitting down with Jae. Her eyes overlooked the beautiful scenery before her. From the roof of the mansion you could see the lake before them glistening in the sun, the mountains beyond it standing tall and proud as no sound could be heard besides that of nature.
"I still can't believe he built this mansion for you on your favorite lake." Jae smiled, knowing that her boyfriend was one for extremities. "He also bought the lake and the surrounding land, just so that I'd be the only one to enjoy it."
"Well, I didn't haul my ass all the way to Maine from Boston for the perfect view your bf bought for you." She smirked at Jae's annoyed expression. "I came to see how you were doing. I heard you snuck around Boston last night. How was the mission?"
"Easy as always, how's the team?" Jae inquired. "Good. The Jacks are still in Washington, finishing up the last of the preparations in America, they'll be here in a few days. The two Queens are still in Boston finishing up their business, and for the two Kings…" They heard the sound of a boat engine and looked out to the lake.
A loud whoop of excitement echoed off the water as the boat drove by, a man could be seen wakeboarding behind it shouting with glee as he did flips and tricks over the wake of the boat. "Always looking for something exciting to do. Tesla has been bored lately, and Alchemi just goes along with it." They both laughed as they saw their friends wave as they drove by once more.
"They could never sit still, those two." Jae laughed before outstretching her hand towards the water. "Let's see if Tes is ready for a bigger challenge." With a flick of her wrist, a large wave appeared right before Tesla, causing him to go over the wave. Not ready for such height, he flailed into the air before crashing into the water below him.
Alchemi laughed from the boat before he turned around and saw the large wave before him. The boat went right through the wave, soaking him and the boat. "Sorry Alchemi! I didn't see you there!" Jae shouted out to him gleefully as he stood soaked on the boat staring down at his drenched self.
"Nice one Jae." Ginger said through her laughter as she gazed at her boyfriend who floated tiredly in the water.
"Yeah, that was pretty good." A new voice sounded behind them, and Jae's face lit up. "Deku! You're back!" She stood up and moved over to him, hugging him tightly. He returned the embrace, kissing her on her forehead when they released each other.
"How did your trip go?" Jae asked as she moved back over to Ginger and sat down. Deku joined them, watching as the two Kings pulled the boat up to the dock. Ginger nodded her head in greeting when he sat down.
"Very well, all the preparations have been made." Jae looked over to him. "So, when will we be leaving?" Deku smiled, turning his head to her. "Our plane leaves in a few weeks, it's almost time to go back to Japan and finally enact the final stage of our plans."
Deku turned to look out at the lake, and the guys who were still on the dock. "I'm interested in seeing your team in action. Since you hand picked them all yourself." Ginger watched them interact, a tad annoyed at Deku's implication of them not being strong enough.
Jae just laughed, knowing exactly what to say. "Don't underestimate my Face Cards Deku, you'll surely regret it. My old friends are all powerful in their own right." Jae smiled fondly as she remembered recruiting them all.
A Few Years Ago…
"Did you hear what happened last night?" A girl spoke to her friend as they walked down the hall of their school. Following behind them was Ivy, a short girl with shoulder length dirty blond hair and hazel eyes.
"No, what happened?"
"There was a break in at the middle school, one of the teachers - I think his name was Mr. Black - was murdered!" Ivy's eyes widened at the statement, her mind bringing up memories as the name was mentioned.
~Flashback~
"Jae, why wont you tell me what's really going on?" Ivy questioned as she walked down the hall with her. Jae was quiet for a moment before she responded.
"I told you, there's nothing going on." She tried to brush it off, her voice low as she continued down another hall on her way to class, head hung low as she watched the tiles beneath her feet.
"That's bull and you know it. I saw you going to the upper floors with Mr. Black." Jae flinched at the mention of her 'teacher', shaking her head as she tried to fight the wave of anxiety that flowed through her. Ivy noticed the change in Jae, observing her reaction as she seemed to curl further into herself.
"There is something going on! Jae, please, you can trust me with this. We're friends right?" Ivy stopped Jae in her tracks, holding her wrist to keep her from running away from this conversation again.
Jae looked up at her with sad eyes, sighing before she answered. "We are friends Ivy, I - I've just been getting some extra lessons after classes. They're really advanced so sometimes I come out with a few scrapes." She smiled, gesturing to the bandages wrapped around her left arm, but Ivy could see the sadness and fear behind the fake smile she portrayed.
The bell rang moments later, causing Ivy to loosen her grip on Jae. "I gotta get to class, see you later Ivy!" Jae rushed away moving up the stairwell and out of sight. Ivy stared at the empty stairwell, hoping that one day her friend would tell her what was really happening in these 'extra lessons'.
"Mr. Black… wasn't he the one who ran the laboratory on the upper floors?" The girl asked her friend as they continued their gossip. Ivy was following the conversation, hoping to learn more.
"Yeah, and apparently the whole floor was destroyed and all the files saved in the system were wiped! How weird is that?" The first girl stated as they walked into the lunchroom. As they walked towards the food line and away from Ivy as she moved to her table, she heard the last bit of the conversation.
"And, There was a message left on the front doors of the school! It said 'All of your secrets and lies will soon be revealed. False heroes who create these fake schools will be persecuted.' Isn't that scary? I can't believe that happened to one of the best middle schools for heroes."
Ivy, who couldn't stop thinking about the girl's conversation, looked up the news article on her phone. There was a photo of the note that was left on the door, and when she looked closer she could see that it was signed with the letter 'D" at the end. Ivy thought it was weird, why sign it at all if it's only an initial?
The sound of someone sitting down at her table went unnoticed as she mulled over the post, looking at every detail. "Mind if I sit here?" Ivy looked up abruptly at the sound of the girl's voice, pulling her out of her thoughts as she stared at the brunette girl sitting before her.
She wore large rimmed glasses obscuring her blue eyes, makeup covered her face giving her an even skin tone and long lashes, her hair was short cut about to her shoulders.. She was wearing a school uniform, but Ivy had never seen her before.
Aware that she was staring, Ivy fumbled a response. "U-uh, yeah sure." The girl smiled, placing her hands on the table, intertwining her fingers.
"So Ivy, I have a proposition for you." She said smoothly, the reflection in her glasses obscuring the view of her eyes. Ivy's eyes narrowed in response, she'd never met this girl before.
"How do you know my name?" She watched the girl suspiciously as she moved a hand up to her glasses. The glasses came off swiftly, and the girl pushed a few wayward strands of hair out of her face, her eyes were now a vibrant purple.
"Don't tell me you've forgotten about me after just one year in Japan?" Ivy's eyes widened as she realized who was sitting before her.
"Oh my god, Ja-" Jae covered her mouth before she could blurt out her name. She looked around, her eyes changing to blue as she put the glasses back on before turning back to her friend. "Jesus Christ Ivy! Don't go shouting like that, I'm not supposed to be here!" She whisper yelled as she continued her scope of the room.
Moving her hand away, she let Ivy talk. "What are you doing here? I thought you were going to U.A in Japan?" Jae sighed, leaning her chin on her palm.
"Plans have changed, I'm back in America now and I'm looking for people to join me." Jae said simply as she glanced at her friend expectantly. Ivy blinked, her mind processing as she tried to think of her answer.
"You know that I'd follow you anywhere Jae, but what are you gathering people for?" Jae seemed to deflate at her question. She sat up straight, grasping Ivy's hands over the table. "You will join the Face Cards and help us expose the false heroes in this country."
"False heroes?" Ivy repeated, as her mind scrambled for why that sounded familiar. The note flashed through her mind and she gasped, moving her hands from Jae's. "Does this have anything to do with what happened at the middle school?"
Jae froze at the mention of the school, but relaxed a moment later to explain. "Yes, my boss was the one who infiltrated the school last night, but he did it for good reason."
Ivy shook her head, not liking where this was going. "What reason justifies murdering a teacher and destroying a whole floor of the school?"
"That bastard was not a teacher!" Jae spat out angrily, her eyes flashing silver as wind blew through their hair. Realizing what she was doing Jae coughed, stopping her quirk and continuing. "The middle school was doing quirk experiments on the students attending the school, and not the nice kind of experiments if you know what I mean."
Jae checked her nails as a way of distracting herself, wanting to be distanced from that part of her past as much as possible. Ivy, on the other hand, was connecting the dots in her head. Her eyes widened when everything clicked.
"You were one of the students. Mr. Black was giving you those 'extra lessons' while your parents were away. They… oh god Jae, they were doing experiments on you!" Tears formed in her eyes as she clutched Jae's hands, looking up at her with regretful eyes.
Jae just smiled sadly. "Yeah, I was one of those students in the past, but they'll never do that to anyone ever again. This system we have, it's ruining lives. We have to change it, that's why I'm here."
Ivy wiped her eyes, sniffling as she tried to calm herself down. Her eyes dry, she looked Jae in the eyes and smiled. "Whatever you need Jae, I'm with you."
Jae smirked, "Well then, welcome to the Face Cards Ivy." She slipped an envelope across the table, the front read "The Queen of Spades."
Jae parked her car on the side lawn of the small white house, she gazed at it for a moment, remembering all the times she had been here in the past. She turned the car off, pulling the key from the ignition as she opened the door and got out.
The door closed with a snap and she made her way around to the front door. Not bothering to knock, knowing she didn't have to, Jae walked right in. Seeing no one in the kitchen, she moved further into the house and heard voices coming from the seasonal room.
She laughed when she smelled smoke, smiling at the thought that things haven't changed and her old friends are still doing what they do best. Walking into the doorway she finally saw the three occupants of the room, two guys and a girl. Their conversation stopped as they spotted her, and Jae gave a shit eating smile.
"Miss me bitches?" The girl with long fiery red hair sprang up from her seat, squealing with joy as she suffocated Jae in a hug. "Jae! Oh my god, when did you get back to the state side!?" Then, realization crept its way in. She pulled away from the hug, holding Jae at arms length.
"Wait a minute… Didn't Aid say that you were kidnapped by a villain? How on earth did you escape?" One of the guys coughed, drawing the girls attention to him. The brown haired male stared at her with suspicion.
"Yeah Jae, last we heard, which was a few weeks ago, you had fallen off the map with that villain from Japan." Jae laughed awkwardly, ringing her hands together in front of her. "I guess I should explain."
They gave her a 'no shit' look and Jae took a seat in front of them as the girl sat back down. The other male, who had been quiet till now, shifted in his seat as he placed the glass piece he was holding on the side table.
"Well, you see. I'm still kinda with that villain you've heard about." She saw them all go to say something but she motioned for them to stay quiet. "It seems as though my plans have changed. That villain that kidnapped me was actually my old friend from Japan, and as it turns out our ideals are very similar."
"Okay, I'm gonna need another hit before we continue this, apparently, very serious conversation." The light brown haired male stated as he grabbed the bong off the table again.
"I think we all need another hit, Tesla." The girl said, reaching for the grinder and opening it up.
"I still can't believe you guys still smoke all the time, Ginger." Jae smiled knowingly as she watched her pack the bowl. She just laughed it off, "How can we not, nothing better to do than be high."
"What if I told you I had something better to do?" The brown haired male laughed, taking the bait. "And what would that be, Jae. You've been a-wall for months, in the hands of a villain."
Jae smirked. "That may be true Alchemi, but I have recently come to an understanding with said villain. I have been given free reign to do what I deem necessary, and I'm recruiting people for an important job."
"A job?" Alchemi inquired, leaning forwards as they all watched her intently. "This country, this world, is being run into the ground. It's easy for fake heroes to integrate themselves into society for fame and money, hiding their dirty secrets behind their portrayal of a hero. I think it's time we change that system." Jae explained.
"That's impossible, there's no way you could change the whole world." Ginger said, brushing it off as impossible. Jae pulled three envelopes from her purse, extending them out to the three of them.
"Wanna find out?" They all looked at the envelopes before taking them and reading the titles. Tesla's read 'The King of Diamonds', Gingers read 'The Queen of Diamonds', and Alchemi's read 'The King of Spades'.
"Become my Face Cards and we'll turn this world on its head, and put it back the way it should be." They all opened the letters, finding stickers of their assigned suit and a letter.
"What's the letter for?" Tesla asked as he ran his thumb over the diamond shaped stickers in his hand.
"It just explains what the job entails and the second paper is a costume form. You can choose whatever you'd like, but there are two things that are considered uniform." Jae started to explain but was cut off.
"You better not make us wear something ugly." Ginger glared at her half heartedly as she looked at the form. Jae laughed, knowing that she should have expected that.
"Nothing ugly. You just have to wear at least one of your stickers and the arm bands." Jae pointed to the silver bands on her arms, showing them what she meant.
"Oh, that's nothing! I can already think of so many looks I can create with these diamonds. I can't wait to try them." Ginger giggled happily as she thought of all the makeup looks she could do if she wanted. She stood, outstretching her hand to Jae.
"You've got yourself a deal, I'll be your Queen of Diamonds." Jae took her hand, smiling as she gripped it. Tesla and Alchemi looked at each other before placing their hands on top of theirs.
"Count us in." Alchemi said.
"This is gonna be fun!" Tesla laughed, electricity buzzing around his eyes as they shined with glee.
Ginger then pulled Jae to sit next to her, practically shoving the packed bong into her hands. "Now then, take a hit and relax! Tell us all about this villain."
"And tell us how much we'll get paid for these jobs!" Tesla cut in as he went to pass Jae the lighter. Ginger brushed him away, snapping her fingers as a flame ignited on her thumb.
"Well, you won't be lacking in money, we're pretty good on funds." Jae responded with a smirk as she took a hit. The cloud of smoke flowed through the room as she exhaled, a smile on her face as she enjoyed the company of her old friends.
Mission accomplished, now it's time for some fun.
Jae watched from the rooftops as four people rushed through the back allies of Boston. Sirens wailed in the distance, the flashing blue and red lights glowing in the darkness. The group continued to run as fast as they could, taking many different twists and turns to get the cops off their tails.
Jae just followed them quietly, her feet making no sound as she glided from roof to roof. She watched as they hit a dead end, turning around with fear etched into their faces as the sirens grew louder.
"Max! Quickly, make a portal back home!" The blonde haired male said anxiously as he watched the entrance of the alley. Max, the girl in question, tried to do as he said, but the blue energy of her quirk kept fizzling when she tried.
"I can't! I'm out of juice!" She continued to try in vain to create a portal, her shaking hands not helping as the sirens grew louder, grew closer. "Can you fly us over the wall, Erica?"
The brunette hair girl looked up at the tall wall before them. "It's too high, and I can only carry one person at a time! We won't make it!"
"Well we have to do something!" The brunette male said fearfully as he shifted the bags on his shoulders. They all gasped as a figure turned the corner, it was a hero.
"Stop villains! Drop the cash and give yourselves up!" The flashy hero demanded as he pointed at them accusingly. The group was caught, but they wouldn't give up without a fight. Max looked at her brother, knowing that it was his turn to get them out of this mess. "August…"
The blonde male in question gave his sister that look, raising his hands in the air before walking closer to the hero. "Look sir, we don't want any trouble." The waves of his quirk resonated around the hero, and his guard slowly started to drop.
"Money? We don't have any money? Did someone steal from the bank?" August smirked slightly when confusion started to show on the heroes face. His quirk, Deception, was good for these types of situations.
"Oh… It seems I've made a mistake…" The hero's voice was cloudy as his mind tried to fight off the haze of August's quirk. His eyes glazed over for a moment, before he shook his head, his mind clearing.
"Hey! You tried to trick me, dirty villains!" The heroes moved forwards in a flash, his fist extended to punch august square in the jaw. Before he could, the hero froze in place. August sighed in relief, thanking his friend for the save.
"Thanks Elon." He moved out of the way, knowing his friends quirk wouldn't last long. The hero then continued to move forwards. He was shocked to see that the villain was not where he was just a moment ago, but he recovered quickly, taking a strike at the next closest target, Max.
Max, who couldn't keep up with the hero's speed, closed her eyes and raised her arms to protect herself from the incoming attack, but was shocked when none came. The hero, who was now smashed up against the wall, coughed as he tried to pick his crumpled body up.
Max started wide eyed as she saw the girl who saved her standing before her. Her leg was extended in the air, and Max guessed that she had dropped in and kicked the villain right into the wall. Her shoulder length brown hair swayed in the wind that she had created around her, and Max could see the silver glow of her eyes as she looked back at her.
"Now Mr. Hero, that is no way to treat a woman." She smirked at him cruelly as he slowly made his way to his feet, an arm wrapped around his broken ribs. Jae guessed that she may have hit him a bit harder then she meant to but, oh well.
"Stupid bitch!" He spat out as he stood at his full height, trying to intimidate her. Max was pulled away from the two by Erica, who brought her back over to the guys. They were still stuck in the back of the alley, the two strangers facing off in the middle.
Jae didn't even look offended by his insult, she just reached into her hosters and brought out her fans. They opened with a snap as the hero foolishly tried to charge at her. Without batting an eye, Jae dodged his advance, aiming low with her fans as she severed the muscles on the back of his leg.
The man screamed in pain as blood poured out of the wound, he fell to the ground harshly as his speed was used against him. "So, The Fast Hero, Jet. I've heard a lot about you." Jae said as she walked purposefully towards the fallen hero. "Not very original with the name though."
The group watched from behind, and they shivered as a cold wind began to whip through the alley. Their eyes trained on the powerful stranger who saved one of their own. The hero tried to crawl away when he saw the dangerous look in her silver eyes, but Jae was playing for keeps.
She made it to the hero and kicked him in the stomach, sending him into the wall again with her wind quirk. She moved to him, gripping him by his shaggy brown hair and lifting him from the ground. She looked him dead in the eyes and smiled when she saw the terror in his.
"Do you enjoy raping women and getting away with it because you're a precious hero?" Jet's eyes widened when she said those words, his hands shaking as the fear of being exposed bubbled to the surface.
"H-how?" He tried to stutter out before Jae kneed him in the stomach, causing him to cough up blood. "It doesn't matter how, all that matters is that you're a fake. Pretending to be society's champion while behind the scenes you're violating women in secret!"
She ripped him from the wall, tossing him all the way out of the alley. She glided over to him, stepping on his head when he tried to stand up. "You heroes make me sick." She glared down at him, ignoring his pleas for mercy before stomping on his head, effectively knocking the man out.
She sighed, pulling her hair from her eyes before turning to the group behind her. She closed her fans and put them back into her holsters."Well," She smiled at them, dusting off her hands as she made her way back into the alley. "Now that that's taken care of, down to business I suppose."
August and Elon moved in front of the girls, shielding them from the powerful stranger who had just taken out a pro hero like it was nothing. Jae stopped ten feet away from them, and when she saw the protective stance the males had assumed, she raised her hands in the air.
"Calm down boys, I'm not here to hurt you." Her eyes were still silver as she continued to monitor the winds, making sure that the cops or any other hero didn't sneak up on them. Max moved around her brother, taking a few steps towards her.
"Why did you save us?" She asked quietly as she tried to figure the strange girl out. Jae just laughed, her eyes turning back to their original purple color. Elon gasped, recognising her by the unique color.
"Jae?" He moved closer, trying to get a better look at her in the dark. She smirked at him, clapping her hands a few times.
"Glad to know at least one of you recognises me. It's been awhile, but I didn't think I'd find you guys robbing banks like low class villains." They flinched at the slight insult, knowing that it was stupid now. They didn't even have an escape plan, they would have been toast if she hadn't shown up.
"I'm surprised that I didn't find America at Ginger's house, but at least the rest of you were together, saves me the trouble of tracking you guys down individually." She thought out loud as she observed them.
"You've been looking for us? Why?" August asked wearily, although he remembered Jae, they were never that close. Jae ruffled through the pack she had on the back of her waist, pulling out four letters.
She held them up in front of her, showing them to the group. Before she could continue speaking, the loud wail of a siren was heard. The cops were getting close, too close.
"Here's the deal. If you guys wanna get out of here, I could help you out, but you're gonna have to join me." They all looked at her skeptically, but their eyes shifted to the end of the alley as they saw lights approaching.
"Okay! Just get us out of here!" Elon yelled as a police car drove by, before backing up and shining a light into the alley.
"There they are! We've got a Hero down!" The officer said as he saw Jet knocked out on the ground. Jae just glared at him, putting the envelopes back into her pack before she tapped the device in her ear.
"I need a pick up please. Me and the four infront of me." She said sweetly as she looked back at the group. They watched fearfully as two cops moved into the alley, their guns drawn.
"Stop right there! You're under arrest!" Jae's eyes turned silver as she didn't even look at the cops. "Turn around and put your hands where I can see them!" Jae slowly raised her hands, giving her new recruits a dangerous smile. She flicked her hands backwards, sending a powerful gust of wind through the alley and blowing the guards right into their cruiser.
"Got your position, teleporting now." Deku's voice came through the device as green mist surrounded them. The four, who were unaware of what was happening, began to struggle. Jae just laughed at them, not even bothering to tell them to stop as her vision blurred into the teleportation.
When they popped back out, Jae landed gracefully on her feet while the others fell on the ground harshly. They groaned as they sat up, not used to being pulled into a teleportation that quick. They took in their surroundings, all of them freezing in place when they heard a voice from behind them.
"So, these are the people you've been trying to hunt down. They don't seem like much." Deku looked down on them, his red eyes glowing with disdain. Jae just laughed, drawing their attention away from the powerful male behind them as she moved around them to his side. She leaned her elbow on his shoulder giving him a look.
"Don't be like that Deku, I've seen their quirks and what they can do. I'm sure you could train them up and make them valuable assets." Jae tilted her head towards him, enjoying how he tilted his slightly to meet her, but he was in front of strangers and he was all business.
"At least tell me what their quirks are. The police scanners were rambling about that robbery while you were gone. If they're so good, then why did you have to save them?" Jae frowned at his smug look, pouting when he just chuckled at her expression. Pulling herself away from Deku, she began to explain.
"Elon, has the power to freeze time for a few minutes, but it all depends on how much stamina he has and how many people he is affecting. America, has the power of flight, she can just fly. Max has the power of Portals, a quirk which gives her the ability to create portals to an alternate dimension of her creation, or teleport to places she has been or can see. August, has the quirk Deception, he can make anyone believe any lie he tells, but the effects vary depending on how good of a liar the target is."
She pointed at each of them as she explained their quirks simplistically. She knew there was more to them, but Deku just needed the jist of things. She pulled the letters back out and extended them to her new recruits.
"Sorry about him, he gets grumpy when I go off and have fun without him." She gave him a devious smile as she glanced at him over her shoulder, and laughed when she saw his annoyed look.
The four just looked at each other, wondering just what they had gotten themselves into. They took the letters that Jae extended to them, reading the title on the front.
Max had the Jack of Diamonds, Elon the Jack of Spades, August the Jack of Clubs, and America had the Jack of Hearts. "You will all be given proper quirk training here in this facility before I start giving you your assignments. Make sure you all read the letters carefully, they give you a description of what will be expected of you and what our goals are here."
Jae explained as she watched them all stand up and look at the contents of the letter, well all but one. Elon looked between the letter and Jae, trying to figure something out.
"Jae, why would you help us when you've been a hero in training since your quirk manifested? This doesn't make any sense. I thought you had moved back to Japan to go to UA and find those friends of yours?" Elon asked, looking at Deku skeptically. He didn't know this guy or what his relationship with Jae was, but he radiated dark power.
Jae mulled over his question for a moment, raising a finger to her chin as she thought about how to respond. "Well, I may have been a hero in training but you guys never actually went to a training school for that kind of thing, they aren't all they're chalked up to be. I've recently come into some new information about this hero society we live in and I don't agree with what's been going on."
She paused for a moment, looking at Deku knowingly. "I've decided to change how things are run, this society is suppressing its people and leading them into a false sense of security with their 'heroes'."
They all listened carefully to her response, knowing that they have never been fully accepted by this society either. They had no money, no jobs, and no future. Why do you think they were robbing a bank, they had no other option left.
"And him?" August asked questioningly as he glanced at Deku behind her. Jae looked back to him letting out an "Oh."
"That's my boss. This is Deku, the leader of this villain group. He'll be helping you all train your quirks and give you the rundown of how operations work around here." When she finished his introduction, he wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her neck.
She laughed, brushing him off. He wasn't happy that she left out another thing. "Oh, and he's also my boyfriend. Don't let his powerful aura get to you, he's a big softie underneath all that hero hate."
Deku squeezed her about harder at the softie comment, but let it slide. He let her go and moved in front of her. "Well new recruits, you'll be in my care for the next few months. For your sakes, I hope you don't disappoint me."
Damn, that was a long one. I hope you guys like where things are going! The UA students will be coming back real soon once we go back to Japan, but I'm thinking about exploring America for a bit. Also, that bonus that I promised you guys.
I'm sure you're all wondering what exactly Deku did to Mr. Black….
Mr. Black sat as his chair in the laboratory. It was well past school hours and into the night, no lights were on besides the blue glow of the computer screens surrounding him. He was pouring through some old files, growing angrier as he scrolled through one failed experiment after the next.
He growled as he closed the tab of a students file. He was useless anyways, unable to pass any of the tests he was given. He rubbed his face, sighing as he stared blankly at the screen. "None of these weaklings can even get close to having good results, the doctor is not going to be happy."
Wanting to get away from these horrible files, he moved into a special folder, entering in his password. Video files and reports filled his screen as the folder was opened. His prized experiment, Jewle Enderson. He re-read the reports that he had looked over thousands of times, even watching some of the videos.
"It's such a shame that she moved to Japan, if she went to the highschool I could have continued my research into her abilities." He mourned the loss of his favorite test subject, wishing that he could find another suitable candidate to take her place.
"My my, thats a lot of research you've got there." The sound of the young males voice startled him, causing him to swirl his chair around, but he found no one. He opened the drawer of his desk, pulling the gun from its depths. Clicking the safety off he raised the gun, "Who's there!"
When he received no answer he spoke again. "This is private property! You aren't allowed to be here." His hands shook as he looked around the dark room, something didn't feel right.
"Well, technically you shouldn't be here either, Mr. Black." He whirled around, finding a young male in a black suit sitting on one of the desks casually.
"Who are you!" Mr. Black demanded as he pointed the gun at the boy's chest. The red glow from his eyes shined through the dark room, giving the teacher a sense of foreboding.
"That is the question isn't it?" He jumped from the desk, walking around the rows of desks to stand directly before his target. "The names Deku, and I don't expect you to know who I am, but that's not important." He waved his hand, brushing the topic of him off for the moment.
"You see, this is about Jewle Enderson." As soon as her name left his lips, the sound of a gunshot was heard. Mr. Black shook in fear as he watched Deku look at the floating bullet with amusement. "I love how fools like you think that will work."
Deku chuckled, pulling the gun from his hand and into his own. He observed the pistol before tossing it to the side. Mr Black watched as it clattered and slid across the floor, disappearing under one of the desks. His terrified eyes shifted back to Deku when he continued.
"As I was saying before you so rudely interrupted me, I've recently come into some information. About you and this school of yours. You've made a great mistake, using her as one of your experiments." He growled at the shaking man, extending his hand and pulling the teacher in his grasp. He gripped his neck tight, choking the teacher as he dangled in the air.
"Did you think you would get away with it? Torturing her for your own benefit, testing her against dangerous murderers, and forcing her to do your bidding for your school's precious public image. People like you make me sick!" He tossed the man against the wall before pulling out his favorite switch blades.
He stalked over to his prey, who was struggling to get up from the floor. "Oh no, who said you could get up?" He kicked him in the stomach, knocking him back into the wall, pulling a strangled gasp from the pathetic man.
"It's your turn to engage in a little experiment." He smiled at the man as he watched him from the floor, his whole body shaking in fear. "I'm going to give you ten seconds to run, and then I'm going to come after you."
"If you can make it out of the school before I catch you, I'll let you live!" His voice was energetic and happy as he explained the rules to the terrified man before him. "But! If I catch you before you do~ I'll make you wish you were dead before I'm done with you."
Mr. Black was practically hyperventilating and a dark power filled the room, his mind scrambling as he tried to form his escape. "Ready? 10! 9!" Mr. Black scrambled from the ground, practically tripping in his urgency to get away as soon as the villain began to count.
As he ran down the halls he could hear him counting down the seconds as they passed, spurring him forwards as he reached the stairwell. Jumping down stairs at a time, Mr. Black tried to go as fast as he could. Once he made it to the ground floor he dashed for the main entrance. How much time do I have? Will I make it? What is that boy going to do to me if I don't!
His thoughts were interrupted when he saw the front doors. He had made it! He was going to live! He outstretched his hand as he was ten feet front the door, he could taste his victory. Until the villain in the nice suit popped out of the green mist that formed in front of the doors, a cruel smile on his face.
Black stopped short, turning around and running for his life in another direction. "Uh oh, looks like you didn't make it Teach', looks like you won't live after all." His insane laughter echoed through the halls as he desperately tried to escape. A whooshing sound was heard behind him and he screamed in pain when a knife buried itself in his leg. He ripped the knife out so he could move, letting it clatter to the floor.
Blood poured from the wound, dripping onto the polished floors as he continued to limp away. He could hear the slow clicks of his pursuers shoes as he calmly followed behind him. Blood from his hands smeared on the lockers as he held himself up on the wall. Breathing ragged, Black dodged the next knife that was thrown at him, and tried to open one of the classroom doors to hide in, but he forgot that it was night time and all the classrooms were locked.
He was blown from the door by a strong blast of wind, sending him skidding down the hall. Struggling to his feet, he grasped the wall as he continued to limp. Unable to doge a second time, a balde lodged its way into his shoulder, sending him to the ground as the pain flared through his body.
The sound of footsteps grew closer and he struggled to get up, crawling as he tried in vain to escape. A foot slammed into his back, effectively keeping him in place. Deku leaned over the fallen man, whispering in his ear. "You shouldn't have touched her." He ripped the knife from his shoulder, eliciting a scream from his target.
"Please, please, mercy!" Black begged as he struggled under the boy's foot. Deku just chuckled. "Is that what she said when you were injecting her with poison and unregulated drugs? Huh?!" He stabbed the knife into his other shoulder, letting the man's cries resonated through his body.
"Did you enjoy watching her suffer? Having her fight all those criminals you brought in. Watching her bleed for your own amusement!" He stabbed him over and over, ignoring his pleas as he continued his assault.
"Worthless scum like you shouldn't even be near her! She's mine! No one but me is allowed to touch her like that!" Bored with his knife, he rolled the man over, watching the blood begin to pool beneath him. He took a moment to appreciate the beautiful sight before punching the man in the jaw.
The man moaned in pain, too hurt to even move as he continued to bleed out. "Oh no Teach' we're just getting started." Deku said as he saw the man begin to pass out. He smashed his foot down onto his leg, breaking it in two. Black screamed in agaoning, fully awake from the new found pain.
"Good, don't want you passing out before the fun really starts." His closed eyes smile gave the man chills, muffled pleas came from his broken jaw, but they went unheard anyways.
Deku proceeded to break every bone in the man's body, one by one, limb by limb, finger after finger, and finally - when the man was on death's door - he knelt down looking at his handy work.
"See you in hell." Deku's final words before he snapped the man's neck. Done with his task, Deku returned to the lab, stealing all the files before wiping them from the system. He destroyed the whole floor, the lab, the training rooms, everything, before taking care of one more thing.
When the staff arrived at school the next morning, screams were heard when the body was discovered. Hanging above the main entrance was Mr. Black. His body in contorted positions, strung up with red rope, his lifeless eyes staring into the distance, and a note attached to his chest.
All of your secrets and lies will soon be revealed.
False heroes who create these fake schools will be persecuted.
Your heroes will fall and your schools will crumble.
I hope your experiments were worth it.
I am coming for you next…
