Cassie leaned back against the leather back of the car, focused on Emmet and Rosalie as they drove out of the school. "I'm sure you have questions." She stated.

Emmett caught her hazel eyes in the mirror and smirked. "Yes, we do. Do you have answers?"

Cassie felt her lips quirk. "It depends on the questions. There are certain things that I am forbidden from talking about, just as I'm sure you are."

Rose nodded. "There are a few things. However, considering vampires are apparently common knowledge to you, I'm guessing you already know some of it."

The witch thought for a moment. "I know that to be a vampire you have to be bitten by another vampire. Most times, turning attempts fail due to the feeding frenzy you go through when exposed to blood, something that you also experience at its height for the first few years after turning. It normally takes three agonizing days, and the pain is typically compared to being burned from the inside out. During which, your heart stops, and your skin becomes the like marble. Your skin also feels like ice to the touch, and you all are insanely gorgeous as part of your hunting strategy, and female vampires become infertile. After the change, your eyes turn red. Later, your eyes turn black when you are extremely thirsty. Most vampires drink human blood, which keeps the eyes red. Some however, like yourselves, drink animal blood which changes your eyes to gold. The only way to kill you is by ripping your bodies apart and burning the pieces."

Rose smiled. "Correct. Anything else?"

Cassie nodded. "Most vampires normally act alone or with one or two other people. However, some form large groups known as covens. These covens act as like a protection unit, in some cases a family. All these covens are under the rule of the Volturi, the leading vampire coven that runs your world from Volterra, Italy. The heads of the Volturi are Aro, Caius, and Marcus. They, along with their guards, police your world and make sure your secret is protected. They enforce the few laws you have, most of which involve the protection of vampires. Don't expose yourself to humans. Don't feed in ways that cause too much attention. Don't turn anyone under the age of fourteen, especially toddlers and babies."

The couple turned to look at each other. "Is that all?"

The redhead shook her head. "Some vampires have what are known as gifts or extra talents, normally based off abilities and strengths you had while alive as humans. Most gifts are not a big deal; however, some are extremely powerful. Edward, from what I've gathered, can read minds. Alice and Jasper also seem to be gifted in some ways. Am I right?"

They nodded before Emmett spoke up. "Ally can see the subjective future while Jasper is an empath. We don't know why this happens."

Cassie smiled. "I do. It's actually really simple."

They both froze. "What?"

She smiled. "The vampires that have gifts had magical potential as humans. Normally humans, 'muggles' as we magical folk call them, just change into typical vampires. Wizards and witches, or people that even have the potential to do magic, change and lose most of their magic. The remaining magical ability evolves and becomes their gift. Alice was possibly a seer in her human life. Jasper was probably good with handling other people's emotions while Edward," she forced down the urge to call him 'Cedric', "probably was good at understanding other's mentalities."

They stared at each other. "That makes a lot of sense." Emmett muttered.

"We've been asking why for years." Rose whispered before looking at Hailey. "Tell us what you can about the magical community."

She smiled. "People have been born with magic since the beginning of time. Tribal elders, ancient Greeks, and Romans, and so on were all totally legit. It used to be revered in the ancient times but with the rise of Christianity, particularly Catholicism, it became dangerous for witches and wizards to practice openly. During the mid-500's, Uther Pendragon started the 'Great Purge' of magic which forced the community to go into massive forms of hiding. Over half of the magical population in Britain were murdered in his reign and in his son's, Arthur Pendragon. Uther's daughter Morgana was born with magic and had to hide it, eventually turning to dark magic to find freedom. She was stopped by Camelot's secret magical protector, a being known as Merlin."

"The King Arthur myths are real?" Emmett asked, smiling like a kid. "Excalibur is real?"

Cassie smirked. "Yes, but the story has been changed over time. Merlin was a girl for one. Her name was Muriel Ambrosius, daughter of the last dragonlord Balinor Ambrosius. She was born towards the end of the Purge and ended up becoming the maidservant to Arthur in her late teens and early twenties. The two were in love until Uther learned of her magic and burned her at the stake. However, it was after she had reached her magical maturity. She was also known as Emrys, so she was immortal. The druids and a secret group known as the Catha were able to help her fake her death and escape Camelot so she could find Morgana and convince her stop terrorizing the city. The two women then helped enchant a castle and the land around it as a safe place for magic. Wizards and witches were able to move to the town connected to the castle while Morgana and Muriel co-ruled them. Meanwhile, Arthur attempted to court Guinevere but ended it after realizing she truly loved Lancelot. After he was crowned king, he ended the rule abolishing magic, but by then the community had already retreated into hiding.

"Then Arthur went to war against the Anglo-Saxons. Muriel learned of the danger he was facing and rushed to his side, reaching him just as he received a fatal stab with a sword. She attempted to get him to the Lake of Avalon to heal him but was unable. He died in her arms, and she sent him to Avalon after being promised that he would one day return. Morgana left the magical settlement and took up as Queen of Camelot, leaving Muriel, who was immortal and could not age in charge of the magical community. After Morgana's death, Muriel handed over the school and community to a group of individuals now known and the Wizengamot. The castle was reverted into a magical school by four friends of hers, Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin. Muriel travelled the world and is somewhere out there waiting for the time of Arthur's return."

Rosalie smiled. "It's a lot different than the modern-day tale."

Cassie nodded. "Muriel's name was changed to 'Merlin' and her gender was changed as time went on. No one of that time wanted a woman to be that powerful or important. The magical community remained in hiding after that, especially in the beginnings of the Protestant Reformation. They used enchantments to hide the magical world from the human world, spells that still hold today. We became obsessed with keeping our world secret, especially during events such as the witch trials. It's been difficult, especially recently. Since the beginning of the twentieth century, there have been a rise of dark magic and wizards that have threatened our society. We just recently got out of war with one threat, the same threat that got my parents killed. We all came here to heal and take a break from our society while it rebuilds."

Rose smiled sympathetically. "I get that. You all are from England, correct?"

Cassie nodded. "Mostly. Blaise is originally Italian. Viktor is from Bulgaria and Fleur is from France. Most of us went to school at Hogwarts, the school that was founded before Muriel left Britain. All of us helped fight in the war, even though we were only teenagers. While our school and the rest of the society rebuilds, we all came here to recover before going back. Because we were all major players in the war, we are all being honored as heroes and will be filling many political roles. We wanted to wait to get over everything that happened before going back."

"That makes sense." Rose stated.

Emmett nodded. "Enough with the heavy stuff though, what types of magical creatures have you encountered?"

Cassie laughed. "More than I can count. There was a class at Hogwarts dedicated to magical creatures. I'm friends with the guy who wrote our textbook for the class. The main ones however were unicorns, dragons, basilisks, dementors, hippogriffs, giants, boggarts, mermaids, werewolves, and so many more."

He frowned. "I don't recognize half of those."

Cassie smiled. "I expected that, and the ones you know about are probably a little different, particularly werewolves. The tribe at La Push is full of magical shapeshifters, not werewolves. Real weres can only change on the full moon and are typically out of their minds. We have a few potions that help the person maintain more clarity, but it's not necessary a good idea as a long term treatment. You can only become a werewolf after being bitten or scratched. One of my godfathers is a werewolf, so I'm pretty familiar with the condition."

Rose bit her lip. "What about shapeshifters? How does that work?"

The redhead's eyes sparkled. "It can happen three ways. The first is through family magical abilities, which I believe is how it works for La Push. The ability is passed down through generations and only awakens under circumstances. The second is through a curse. Some shapeshifters, particularly the more violent ones, are cursed via dark magic and change into a creature, typically as a punishment. I have read records that Muriel was friends with the woman who would eventually become the Lady of the Lake. The woman, Freya, was cursed by a hag that blamed her for a crime she was innocent of and cursed her into a basset, a cat like creature that would be awakened each night. There are other rumors that the snake that belonged to the dark wizard that killed my parents was the victim of a blood curse back in the 1940's.

"The third is done through a longtime ritual that allows a human wizard or witch to become an animal. Each of us possess an inner animal spirit called a patronus that we can call on to protect us from dark magic or to send messages. By undergoing the ritual, we can turn into the animal that our patronus is. My father could turn into a stag and my mother a doe. My godfather that I live with is a grim, or a giant black dog. One of my professors at school could turn into a cat."

"Are you able to do it?" Emmett asked eagerly.

Cassie nodded with a bright smile. "I can turn into a snow leopard. Originally my patronus was a doe, just like my mother, but it changed after the war. The war changed me as a person, so my patronus switched to an animal that suits me better."

Emmett looked like a child in a candy store, causing Rose to give him a tired smile as she pulled the car into a long driveway. Cassie stared in interest as a beautiful open house was revealed through the foliage. It kind of reminded her of one of the Black vacation homes.

The car pulled into the massive garage, filled with at least four other cars she knew to cost more than an average person made in a year. Emmett eyed a shiny grey jeep that's wheels came up to her mid-thigh with a loving look, the same loving look that Sirius had with his enchanted motorcycle or Ron had with the custom broom she bought him for the past Yule season. Granted, she had treated her Nimbus and Firebolt the same, so who was she to judge possessiveness towards objects.

Rosalie and Emmett led her through the garage to a spacious living room and kitchen area, surrounded by large windows that let light in naturally, causing the two vampires to sparkle like diamonds. Cassie tilted her head from side to side, wondering if it was possible to perhaps use magic to stifle that side effect. Rose looked a little annoyed at the light show, which made Cassie frown. It would certainly make things easier if they could camouflage the skin.

They both turned to look at her. "Give us just a few minutes and we should be ready to go. Is there anything you think we should bring?"

She tilted her head for a moment before thinking. "You might want to bring an extra set of clothes. If we go outside to do some demonstrations, they might come in handy."

They nodded before flashing out of sight. Cassie's eyes rose for a moment, her inner daredevil curious as to what it feels like if someone were to ride on their back or be carried while they ran.

A traitorous image of her and Cedric/Edward doing it flashed through her mind before she pushed it out at the sound of a gasp behind her. She turned quickly to see a beautiful vampire who looked to be somewhere in her twenties with brown hair, tied up in an elegant bun and warm golden eyes. She stood a bit taller than Cassie herself and radiated a soft and gentle aura. She was dressed in a pair of dark blue jeans, a long sleeved white turtleneck, a tan plaid jacket, a pair of red high heels with a pair of gold hoops in her ears.

"Hello." She smiled, causing something inside Cassie to melt at pleasant feel it caused. "I'm Esme Cullen, Rosalie and Emmet's mother."

Cassie smiled brightly before extending her hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you Mrs. Cullen. I am Cassiopeia Potter, but you can call me Cassie. I just moved here with some of my family and friends from England."

Esme's eyes lit up as she took the hand, barely showing any shock as Cassie was able to take the icy limb with no reaction. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Cassie. May I ask what you are doing here?"

"We are heading to her house to talk, Mom." Emmett stated as he and Rose flashed back into the room. "Cassie comes from a society of magic users in England. We wanted to talk to her and her family about everything. She knows about us, the tribe, and a lot of other pieces of information that we weren't expecting."

She turned and looked at Cassie who was smiling slightly. "I assure you Mrs. Cullen that they will be perfectly safe. My family comes here in peace and just want to enjoy our time here before returning home."

Esme smiled softly before nodding. "That is perfectly fine. If you want, I can speak with my husband, and we can organize a get together to discus everything. We could possibly contact La Push as well."

Cassie smiled brighter. "We actually have a scheduled meeting with the La Push council this weekend, but we would love to meet with you all as well. If you would like, I can give you my contact number so we can schedule a meeting after you have talked with Dr. Cullen."

"That will be perfect."

Cassie nodded and reached into her pocket to pull out her phone, quickly opening it to contacts and handing it over to Esme while taking the matron vampire's phone, quickly typing her number in before handing the phone back and taking her phone in return. Just before she pocketed it, it started ringing. The sound of The Cranberries "Zombie" echoed throughout the room, causing Cassie to roll her eyes. Sirius had been obsessed with that song for months and had hijacked all their phones and made sure it was his listed ringtone. Emmett's eyes glowed with interest as Cassie shook her head in amusement.

She quickly hit the answering button and brought the phone to her ear. "Hey Sir! How is my loving dogfather today?"

He cackled in amusement, making her quickly wonder if Snape was still living. The two had never really been able to get past their childhood feud, but they were on far more civil terms now. It didn't mean that the two didn't typically have a prank war every now and again. Granted, Cassie was not supposed to know about that. They didn't want her to believe that they were fighting and have her upset with them. "Cassie, my darling! I am doing swell."

She nodded. "I see. Did you finally manage to dye Snape's hair red and gold and change his robes into a color and pattern that would have outclassed Dumbledore?"

He laughed and shook his head. "No, although I might have to do something to your protectors?"

She glanced at the wall and cursed at the time. It was almost three-thirty in the afternoon, far later than she knew Victor or Draco would feel comfortable with. "Please, tell them I'm about to leave the Cullen's house now. They don't need to freak out."

He hummed. "Will do, Cass. You might want to hurry. Knowing them, they will soon attempt to recruit the twins in a rescue mission."

Her eyes widened in panic. Circe, save them if the twins decided to come after her. The Gryffindor menaces were still very much involved in the world of practical jokes in a way that even the vampires would not be able to sense coming, even with Alice's future telling abilities. "I'll be there soon."

He let a noise out as an affirmative before she quickly ended the call and turned back to the vampires.

"Do we need to head out?" Rose asked.

She nodded. "Draco and Victor have appointed themselves as my protectors. They don't like me being outside their sights for too long. Next thing we know, they will recruit the twins to come after me, and those two were known as the red-headed fiends for a reason. They live and breathe chaos and mayhem in ways that not even Alice could probably see coming."

Rose looked concern but Emmett looked like Yule had come early. "Pranks with magic?" He asked. "That sounds glorious!"

Cassie's mind flashed back to the Quidditch World Cup and Dudley's tongue. In appropriate times, the twins could be quite glorious, if you weren't the targets of their mischief.

Esme clasped her hands together. "Well, you three go ahead and please don't stay out to late."

"Yes mom." The two vampires answered.

She smiled and turned her eyes to Cassie. "My dear, you are welcome over here anytime."

Cassie felt her heart tighten at Esme's warmth and sincerity. It was like Mrs. Weasley, just less suffocating. As much as she loved her, the Weasley matriarch could be more than a little overbearing at times. "I will keep that in mind. It was a pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Cullen."

"Esme." She stated. "Call me Esme, Cassie."

She smiled. "Esme."

Emmett and Rosalie exchanged a glance before reaching forward and starting to pull Cassie to the garage. The second they were out of the house and walking towards Rose's car, Emmett started chuckling.

Cassie turned to look at him in confusion. "What? Did I do something wrong?"

He shook his head. "No, but I don't have to read minds like my annoying little brother to know that Mom has multiple plans to make you another one of her children, minus the vampire bit of course."

That caused Cassie to freeze in shock. Mrs. Weasley had never been able to fill the role that her mother had left behind, no matter how much she tried. Petunia had never tried and honestly, Cassie wasn't that upset about it anymore after seeing how Dudley turned out. Laura and Narcissa had come close in the months of their close acquaintances and Professor McGonagall had always acted more like her grandmother. Still, she hadn't felt the love a mother that felt right since that dark October night.

She tried to push it down. There was no guarantee that Edward would ever remember, and she could join the Cullen family. There was no guarantee that she would be able to have Esme as a mother figure.

She couldn't help that deep part of her that wished for it with all her power, and that was saying a lot. No one, not even her enemies, could deny that Cassie Potter was powerful.

It's Out! I told you guys I would try to get it out soon, but I wasn't expecting this soon.

I have plans for the next chapter but do not know when it will be out. Again, I am taking 19 credit hours, writing for the school newspaper, co-directing the fall theatrical play, and am now working as an online sales representative. I am busy from 7 AM till at least midnight every day.

I hope I will be able to see you guys soon!
