Sandalphon wobbled slightly as he stood on the ice, balancing unsteadily on the blades of his skates. He bit his lower lip as he looked up from his feet to his father, who knelt on the frozen surface a few meters away, with his arms held out towards the tiny angel.

"Come on, you can do it." Lucifer encouraged with a gentle smile, "Try not to think too much about it, and just come over to me."

Nodding slowly, Sandalphon gingerly pushed off, gliding shakilly across the gap to the larger angel. As he reached Lucifer's outstretched hands, he slipped, and tumbled into his creator's waiting arms with a startled squeak.

"You did it!" Lucifer praised, wrapping his arms around Sandalphon.

"I fell down." the little angel mumbled disappointedly, burying his face in the supreme primarch's shoulder.

"That's alright." Lucifer said reassuringly, "Your balance will improve with practice. Want to try again?"

Sandalphon hesitated for a moment, but nodded affirmation with a deep breath.

"Will you hold my hand?" he asked quietly, his voice still muffled against Lucifer's shoulder.

"Of course." the supreme primarch smiled, giving the smaller angel another squeeze before standing up, and holding out a hand. Sandalphon got unsteadily to his feet, gripping his creator's palm with his own tiny hand, and pushing off across the ice with a bit more confidence.

He made an entire circuit around the frozen lake with Lucifer holding his hand, and got halfway around a second time before he noticed that his creator was no longer beside him.

Turning around in confusion, he saw the other angel standing back at their original starting point, a warm smile on his face as he watched.

Realizing what had happened, Sandalphon grinned back, finishing his second lap around the lake, and throwing himself happily into Lucifer's arms when he neared the supreme primarch's position.

"I didn't fall down!" the tiny angel exclaimed, pulling his head back from Lucifer's shoulder to look him in the eye, excitement sparkling in his own.

"Yes, I saw you." his father said, the proud smile never leaving his face, "Good job, Sandalphon."
