Peter adjusted the collar under his mask and smiled brightly as he swung around the city at high speeds, it only took him a few minutes to arrive at Megan's apartment window and knock.
A moment later, the bedroom window slid open to see the sandy blonde haired girl pop her head out and looked to the side where Peter was clinging to, "Spidey! Oh My God!"
"You like it? It took me a few tries but I think I captured the magic." Megan nodded excitedly and soon called her mom.
"Mama! Come here!" Spider-Man could hear light steps throughout the apartment and a petite, curly blonde woman who was only a few inches taller than Peter himself came into view, the red and blue hero costumed hero waved in greeting.
"Hey, Ms. Brock." The woman looked at the superhero in surprise before smiling.
"I thought I told you, it's Jamie to you and wow, you look like an actual superhero now, instead of some punk." The spider themed vigilante pouted, which she could immediately tell as his bug eyes narrowed and his head fell. "What's with the bulges though? it kinda throws the aesthetic off." The older woman's eyes fell towards his neck, wrists, and waist.
Spider-Man's excitement seemed to skyrocket, "Well these are my-" he pulled the gloves off his wrist, showing his inventions off. "Web-Shooters! They let me make webs!"
"I thought they came out of you." Megan seemingly agreed with her mother if her shocked face was anything to go by.
"Ew! How would that even work?" Spidey asked with clear disgust in his tone and the woman shrugged.
"I don't know, how do you stick to walls?" she asked and the hero opened his mouth only to shut it. "Exactly." she smirked and Megan giggled at the two. " What about your neck, it looks like your Adam's apple became an Adam's..." the sandy blonde mother paused for several moments before giving up. "There's no square fruit."
The red and blue vigilante chuckled before lifting up his mask and showing the voice changer that rested on a belt. "It's a voice changer that increases the vibrations on my vocal cords, deepening its pitch."
Megan ohh'ed at the information, a second later he lifted his top half of his suit and revealed his metal belt. "This is my utility belt, it's to hold my phone and web fluid." Both looked at the cartilages.
"You're not only a superhuman but also a science Wizz? Wait, do all your powers come from gadgets?" Megan gasped and looked at her hero.
"Nope! I'm a freak of nature." Spider-Man stated, the young Brock female pouted.
"You're not a freak, Spidey!" The red and blue hero patted the girl's head.
"Thanks Megan."
...
Jackson Brice or better known as Montana in the underworld, a light skin man with a sharp jawline and angular face, analysed several videos of Spider-Man.
He swept his light brown hair out of his face and yawned, scratching his whiskered jaw and adjusted his brown leather jacket as he looked towards his new employer, the infamous Hammerhead who stared at him with cold, dead fish-like eyes.
"Double our usual price, Mutants are a bitch and a half to deal with." the squared forehead man nodded at the clear Texan man.
"You have a week or-" The ravenette's voice spoke out, which had a lightness his face didn't show.
"Or The Kingpin will kill me, my partners, my family... if I had any, I know. The Enforcers don't fail, ever." The brown eyed Texan stated with clear certainty and a fire in his eyes.
...
Spider-Man ignored the sun's light as he swung to school and thought about how glad he was that he made his police scanner. He knew there were dozens of apps that had the same function but he also knew that the chip he sto- 'borrowed' would let him in on crimes that the police didn't want the public to know yet or info that could be useful, well useful for this pacific specific police district.
But he didn't want to be just a small portion of Queen's hero, he wanted to be all of New York's hero. Maybe he should-
His thoughts were interrupted when his police scanner told him of an emergency, an out of control oil tanker heading into a traffic jam.
Spider-Man created a slingshot in between two buildings and wrapped his arms in the excess webbing before pulling with the amount of strength his Spider-Sense didn't buzz at. The red and blue hero flew above the city and as dopamine filled his body, a large smile stretched across his face a moment later.
His eyes scanned the city streets and as he started to fall, he saw the speeding Oil tanker that had a devastating trail of destruction. With a flip of his wrist, a long strand of webbing shot out and clinged onto a corner of an apartment and with a pull, he swung like a pendulum.
After a breath Spider-Man released his rope-like web and shot another string of his sticky elastic chemical, pulling himself into the street where the oil tanker lost control, with a thought, his feet clinged to the concrete and shot out two webs that hit the cylinder containers back.
The spider themed hero's feet immediately broke the concrete he clinged too but the webbing held strong and after a few moments it slowed down, stopping before hitting the traffic jam.
Spidey took a breath and unfocused his hearing, as a thousand sounds entered his ears he concentrated and located the heartbeat of the driver of the oil tanker.
it was low but steady, 'He's asleep.' The spider themed hero shook his head before letting loose again and began selectively blocking any sounds that came beyond the street he was in and as heartbeats rushed in his ears, he realized something important. "I don't know first aid." The spider powered boy didn't know anything medical related that could realistically help these suffering people.
While Spider-Man couldn't help them, he would probably just make things worse if he tried.
'Well I could keep some of them company and help them when the E.M.T's come.' The vigilante thought as he monitored all their heartbeats.
Unknown to him, a light blue drone that matched the color of the sky, held a steady view of him that was being watched by three men. One was the Texan, Montana with his two partners, Raymond Bloch or Ox, a six foot and eight inch brown skinned, middle eastern man that had a physique of a bodybuilder with short raven hair parted in the middle and a thick mustache.
And Daniel Brito or Fancy Dan, a small statued black man with dark hair and a goatee who stood at five foot and three inches.
"Strong, fast, Agile, clings to walls and has a good handle on his powers." Dan said, reviewing the video and several others of the vigilante.
"He also has some sort of sixth sense, a danger sense. I shot at him over four kilometers away but he dodged like he knew all along what was going to happen but he seemed confused, so it was instinct, reflex." Montana told his partners, "His max strength is unknown but given his size and the lack of permanent injury on his captures suggest it only barely enters superhuman territory, he has good mobility on his webs but probably relies too much on them. Ox and you definitely outpace him in those two areas. His agility and sixth sense might be a problem but I'm sure if we take him out fast and hard, it won't even factor in." The leader said to the other men who nodded along.
...
Peter silently ate his sandwich surrounded by his friends. "Are you okay Pete? You seem to look really tired." Mary Jane asked with concern, playing with her food instead of eating it.
"Yeah and you were a whole thirty minutes late to class, the teacher almost called your Aunt." Harry told the brunette who waved him off.
"I took a wrong turn when getting here, it happens, the teacher understood." Peter told the group with an amused smile.
"Are... you sure you're okay. I mean you… seem different. I thought it was you getting back to normal but you seem more..." The blonde girl told her orphaned friend, "I don't know, you just seem more." Peter simply smiled.
"Is that such a bad thing?" The three seemed uncomfortable at the question, as he looked down at his meal he felt a low buzz in the back of his skull, barely even there.
Peter looked up and saw three surprised faces, the brunette looked into Harry's toxic green eyes and let his concentration fall with his enhanced vision.
Peter quickly noticed an image in the white of his friend's eyes and with a narrow of his own brown orbs, the spider powered boy realized it was Eugene and his posy standing behind him, ready to drench him in cold milk.
With superpowered reflexes, the brunette turned and grabbed Eugene's wrist, "Hey there, Flash?" Peter smirked and without looking took his own milk from the table and poured it over the blonde's head before pushing him with enough strength to knock the larger boy on his butt.
The blue eyed male seemed to get teary eyed before standing up, ignoring his concerned friends and ran out of the laughing cafeteria, his best friend, Kenny not far behind. "What's your damage Parker?!" Sally screamed at the boy who scoffed.
"What made you think I was going to sit there and take it? When have I ever done that?" Peter asked with a high and mighty tone.
Sally gritted her teeth. "You think you're better than us just because you're smart but-" Peter nodded, admitting it and interrupted the girl.
"I do and I am. Better than you, that is, just in case your tiny little brain didn't get that." Sally's face turned red in anger and stormed off.
The Hispanic girl, Elizabeth Allen looked at Peter in anger. She opened her mouth several times to say something before giving up and following her friends, Peter just laughed it off before turning back to his food and friends.
"Awesome job, Pete!" Harry raised a hand in happiness, glad that Eugene got knocked off his supposed high horse.
Don't, don't you think you went too far, Peter? Especially with Sally?" The brunette pulled a face at the question Gwen asked.
"Gwen, 'Flash' has been trying to bully me for the past few years and Sally is just as bad as him with the way she follows him around like a lost puppy." The ocean blue eyed girl frowned as M.J and Harry nodded in agreement.
"It's not like you're completely faultless, Pete. You do call him Flash all the time and rub in how much smarter you are." Peter shrugged before smiling.
"Sure, and? Just because I give as good as I get or better, doesn't mean I'm in the wrong. I'm a dick to whoever is a dick to me." Gwen frowned pulled further down, her glasses falling along her nose but said nothing.
...
The oldest male Parker walked side by side with his sister who talked his ear off about her day.
"And then Carly said, ' You're not my mama, so don't pretend to be!' " Peter gasped before laughing and Teresa smiled with delight.
"You're new friend sounds fun! You should invite her over." The blue eyed eight year old girl nodded in agreement.
The silence filled the air between them but Teresa broke it with a question she was dying to ask, "Hey big bro, what do you think of Spider-Man?" Peter froze for a moment but quickly calmed himself and thought about it for a second.
"I think... he's doing the best he can, that maybe he's doing what Uncle Ben always taught us 'With great power must come,"
"Great responsibility'." Teresa finished with a sad smile. " Uncle Ben would have loved Spider-Man." She said with complete confidence across her pale face.
"I hope so." The Brown eyed boy muttered as he brought his sister into a side hug that she gladly returned.
...
As May and Teresa's heartbeats became low enough that Peter was sure they were both asleep, he donned his costume and began his patrol.
The young boy was really starting to fall into a rhythm with his powers, his control of his senses still needed some work as they were all or nothing but he was really starting to become in sync with his Spider-Sense.
Most likely because it helped him regulate his strength so he didn't break everything around him.
There was barely an adjustment period once he realized why his Spider-Sense was buzzing so much whenever he was about to grab a door handle or was about to walk with too much force, 'Looks like I didn't need that mutant school after all, huh Ben.' Spider-Man thought as he traversed Queens.
After about two hours of stopping a dozen petty crimes, the spider powered vigilante thought about patrolling Brooklyn but after a quick look at his web fluid stash, he realized he was low, 'I'm pretty lucky that the chemicals for my web fluid are super common. I should try and get them in bulk!' he thought of the brilliant idea before deflating. 'Look at me, acting like I have money to buy chemicals. I dumpster dive for the parts to my equipment and use leftover supplies from the chemistry set Uncle Ben bought me. The only thing I actually paid for was the parts for my eyes.'
As Spider-Man swung his way back home to replenish his web supply, his Spider-Sense rang, he immediately dropped his web and looked up to see a large, full body black spandex wearing man fly over him, landing onto a nearby roof. 'What the-'
'Spider-Sense!' The red and blue Hero leaned back, dodging a bullet aimed at his head, immediately tracing the trajectory, he aimed his Web-Shooter and with a flip of his wrist, a ball of webbing flew out.
'Spider-Sense.' He ignored the low, practical nonexistent buzz, too busy thinking about what was happening as two metal bolo ropes wrapped around his body.
Aiming his wrists outward, Spider-Man fired two lines of webbing that slowed down his fall and created a slingshot effect as the webs snapped him towards the cloudy, night sky.
Spider-Man's white eyes scanned the rooftops and saw three men fully covered in black skin tight suits, looking up at him. With a tense of his muscles the bolo ropes broke like a stick of celery and aimed his wrist at the biggest threat, as a web stuck Ox on the chest, the Hero flung himself towards the man who reacted faster than Spidey expected, wrapping his gorilla-like arms around his body.
"AGHH!" The boy hero felt his bones almost break under the pressure from Ox, he jerked his head back and smashed it against the larger man.
"Agh!" The middle eastern bounty hunter yelled and dropped Spider-Man who immediately flipped to the edge of the building, coughing all the while, "You're stronger than expected bug." Ox spoke with a clear accent.
"I'm an arachnid." The boy said with sass, his voice gruff and full of pain.
'Spider-Sense.' the red and blue costumed hero leaned back, his upper body becoming parallel to the street when the much thinner and compact member of the trio, Fancy Dan, tried aiming a flying roundhouse kick at him but simply flew over his target.
The smallest member of the bounty hunters immediately caught himself on his hands and backflipped with a smooth motion, trying to sweep Spider-Man's legs, only to fail thanks to the mask hero's clinging ability.
"Smaller too, never hit your growth spurt?" Fancy Dan spoke for the first time, his voice high and feminine-like.
Trying to take advantage of the situation Spider-Man tried to punch him but the small man dodged, twisting his body midair, his leg struck out, most likely trying to hit Spidey in the face but the spider powered boy grabbed the acrobat by the ankle.
But before the spider themed hero could do anything, a loud ringing entered his head and he leaped up a second before Ox punched the roof, creating a wave of destruction which Dan flipped away from when Spidey let him go.
"Agh!" Something pierced Peter's side in the single moment he leaped up, Spider-Man's eyes looked downward and saw a hole through the side of his torso, a moment later his Spider-Sense rang and he twisted around another bullet, trying to ignore the pain and failing horribly. "Ehhagh!" The small hero lost his focus and landed on his uninjured side instead of his feet when gravity took a hold of him.
"Told you guys this would be a piece of cake! He doesn't even have any pain tolerance." Montana spoke, a grin could be heard despite his mask, the Texan stood up from behind a generator revealing himself with a sniper in his arms.
Montana walked to the down boy and stepped on his bullet wound making him scream in agony, "Music to my ears!" he exclaimed over the scream and shortly after, sobbing. "I can't believe Hammerhead thought you were a threat to The Kingpin!"
Montana raised the sniper and aimed it at the side of Spider-Man's head but a moment before he followed through, the midget grabbed his knee and twisted. "Agh! You Fuck-" The red and blue Hero pulled him onto his back before quickly punching and knocking him out cold.
Fancy Dan and Ox looked at one another and dashed towards the Spider who leaped across several buildings before either of them got close.
...
Spider-Man landed in an alleyway and removed his mask, revealing a teary eyed ten year old who collapsed on his knees before leaning against a dumpster. The brunette looked at his bleeding wound and knocked his head against the metal trash container, denting it.
'Who is Kingpin and Hammerhead? Maybe Mr. Stacy would know?' He thought as he took his Spider-Phone out with shaking, agony filled hands before realizing his flawed thinking. 'This only picks up police signals, should I try to contact him through their channel?' he thought before metaphorically slapping himself. 'No! Thats stupid, Pete! Get your head in the game.'
Peter shook his head. 'I'll call tomorrow.' he clipped the phone back into place and tried to stand up but his legs had no strength. "Oh no." Peter muttered and realized how cold he was.
'Odd, I, I used to hate the cold but I didn't even notice the chill.' The spider powered boy felt his eyes growing heavier than usual. 'I'm.. I'mdying.' fear gripped his heart before Peter passed out.
...
As the sunny morning hit his face, Peter blinked in sleepiness before memories entered his mind and he stood up in panic. "I'm.. I'm not dead?!" He exclaimed in shock and looked at his exposed torso wound."I... I should have bled out." The brunette looked for the wound but only found a tiny white dot.
This was impossible, it was amazing. "Wow."
...
Peter managed to sneak back into his room despite the light shining on him. It was still early enough that neither his Aunt or his sister was awake, which gave the brown eyed boy plenty of time to take a shower, get some food in him and... well that's it.
He would have to wait after school to make a new voice changer and upgrade the Spider-Phone so he could actually call people outside of the police.
Peter found himself eating almost all the leftovers that his aunt had in the fridge, which was enough to feed a family of eight, 'Makes sense, I did just get done healing a major injury with no visible wound, the energy has to come from somewhere.'
The day seemed to move slowly for Peter as he became increasingly impatient for the end of the school day. He struggled to make small talk with his friends but it all came to an end when he traveled to the city dump and gathered the material he needed for his project.
The brunette spent the entire afternoon in the basement disassembling the material he got, and cleaning it.
Peter, deciding he had no time to make upgrades on the voice changer, so he just copied the last model he made, finishing it in a few hours.
After the brown eyed boy was done, he took his flip phone and studied the sim card that allowed the electronic to get a signal. He copied the data onto his laptop and rewrote a few lines of code making it virtually impossible to link him to the sim card before installing the software directly into his Spider-Phone. "Peter! it's almost ten, go to sleep!" May called from on top of the stairs.
"Yeah, okay May!" Peter called out and sighed, he pocketed the smartphone, flip phone in his pocket and carried the voice changer up to his room, patiently waiting until both Parker women fell asleep.
The brown eyed brunette donned his costume with little time to spare and when he studied his family heartbeats and found them low and steady leapt out of his window, swinging into his patrol.
Spider-Man was on the lookout for those three men who attacked him the other day but the only time he felt his Spider-Sense ring was when he fought muggers.
It wasn't until the morning rays hit his masked face that Spider-Man landed on a rooftop high off from the ground, away from prying ears and took out his vigilante phone before calling the only detective could trust. "Hello?"
"Mr. Stacy, this is Spider-Man. I think I need your help." The hero began ignoring the dread in his stomach. "Last night I was attacked by three men, I got away but before I did, they mentioned something about Hammerhead and a Kingpin thinking I was a threat. So I'm thinking they were hired to kill me… or something." It was silent on the other side of the phone.
"... I don't recognize the name Hammerhead but the Kingpin is just a rumor, a ridiculous one at that, of some criminal that controls all the crime in the city." George Stacy, a detective of the NYPD spoke and never hearing the older man curse before, made the boy behind the mask flinch. "They were probably trying to intimidate you." Spider-Man narrowed his eyes.
"Why would they try to be intimidating when they were seconds away from killing me?" The line went silent.
"I don't know." The detective admitted, "Listen Spider-Man… I respect what you're trying to do, crime in Queens is down at an all time low but you're setting a dangerous precedent, you're going to inspire others to follow you and not many of them will have your abilities or your restraint, turn yourself in." The red and blue hero remained silent for a moment.
"I can't, I have these powers for a reason, I know I do." The hero hung up and snapped the phone back in place in his utility belt.
…
As the next day progressed, Spider-Man continued with his crime fighting, patrolling until his six o'clock curfew and then waiting for the Parker woman to fall asleep.
As Peter returned home in the early morning he quietly traveled to the basement where his workshop was and bit his lip harshly as he saw the chemicals he used for his web-fluid empty. 'I only have enough web-fluid for a few more days and that's if I become super conservative. Maybe I can borrow some from Midtown high school?' Peter shook his head at the thought.
'Like you borrowed the material for your suit, like the radio chip from . Come on Peter, you're supposed to be one of the good guys!' Peter slumped in his seat. 'Yeah you did it for good reasons but is that really the excuse, i'm sure some of the people I caught also had 'good' reasons!' The boy shook his head. 'Except I'm saving people, I saved over a hundred people in the last week alone, I can get a pass!' Peter could literally feel the disappointment his uncle would feel at him if he was still alive.
"I need some cash." Peter traveled up the basement stairs and grabbed his laptop off the dinning table.
"Hey big bro! This is Cindy!" He looked up and saw a black girl around his sister's age waving at him on the couch. "We're about to play Shadow Maze, want to join us." Teresa asked with some hope in her voice that Peter didn't recognize or even notice.
"Sorry Te, homework but it was nice meeting your friend." He nodded his head at the pigtailed underclassmen before rushing downstairs.
As Peter sat at his desk, staring at the electronics before searching for any way someone his age could earn money without resorting to crime.
…
The spider themed hero swung across Queen's, he had searched for hours on how to earn some income to finance his double life and he had one good option, he couldn't work hours or anything with manual labor but selling original content could work.
The boy behind the mask loved photography, which was nurtured by his uncle along with science.
It fell to the wayside once Peter truly began to understand science and its complexities, his thirst for science outgrew his love of capturing nature but maybe, it was about time to get back into the habit.
With his abilities, the spider powered boy could obtain shots that no one else could get, in angles that would look impossible. As soon as Peter realized how viable that was as an income he searched for ways to make it a reality.
A website, social media accounts like instagram and twitter, a bank account along with a third party money transfer service to keep his bank details safe; all of which required him to be over thirteen years old with parents permission which… was not going to happen.
His aunt was a good guardian and would make sure he was safe online. Peter had to unlock the child's safety settings on his laptop so he could learn more advanced subjects, more about the world in general. Sure May was being a lot looser now but that was because Ben died.
Peter was sure she would tighten the reins anytime now, especially since he wasn't stewing in his misery any longer.
May would question him on his desires to make money, would constantly monitor his account to make sure he wasn't being irresponsible with his new income and that no one was harassing him on social media.
To get what he needed, the brown eyed brunette had to have free rein on everything and the more he thought about it, even if he could do it by himself his name would be tied to everything!
What if someone tracked his suspicious purchases, maybe figured that only someone like Spider-Man could get those shots, his life would be over, his crusade done, Uncle Ben's memory tarnished.
'I need a fake identity, for the bank, for the social media accounts. Nothing can be traced back to Peter Parker.' Spidey thought to himself as he absent mindedly webbed a goon to the wall.
As he began comforting the victim of the assault his Spider-Sense went nuts, the hero grabbed the sides of his head in pain.
"Spider-Man are you-" A black van screeched at the end of the alleyway, back first, its double doors already open and a Gatling gun at the ready. "What the," time seemingly slowing down for the hero as his mind registered with what was happening, with pure instinct the red and blue costumed hero shot two web lines at the two wide eyed occupants of the alley and pulled them to his hands.
"BANG!" "BANG!" Two chests hit Spider-Man's hands, Spidey pushed them high into the air. "BANG!" "BANG!" as they seemingly floated in the air, he created a giant web that caught them. "BANG!" "BANG!" As the first bullet pierced his left arm, the spider powered vigilante was finally free to dodge.
Within several seconds, and five hundred bullets shot towards him, the masked brunette squeezed the cylinder barrels, destroying the gun.
Spider-Man heard a click and saw the medium build man from two days ago with a pistol at his head.
The young hero managed to move his head to the side as the criminal fired the weapon while raising his wrist at the same time, webbing the shooter to the van wall.
"FUCK! GO!" The clear Texan accent yelled and the van rushed back into the street, crashing into a car as they struggled to stay straight.
The spider themed hero held his left arm in pain and webbed the wound closed, "Hey Spidey! Can you get me down from here?!" The short hero looked up and winched. 'Note to self create dissolving formula for web fluid.'
…
Montana screamed in fury as he smashed his computer into pieces, "FUCKING HELL! WHO IS THIS GUY!" the older brunette screamed, his voice echoing throughout their hideout, an abandoned apartment complex. "I thought he was some fucking kid with a voice changer, given his size and apparent experience with his powers but his reaction is greater than I can even comprehend! The amount of perception and skill needed to dodge fifty bullets a second! I don't think I've ever heard of anyone being able to do that." The Texan anger seemingly drained away. "And he bent several pipes of metal like tissue paper, his stronger, faster and more agile than the two of you combined." Raymond and Daniel looked at each other and shrugged.
"You're not wrong, even at my best I could never bend more than one pipe of steel and even then it would take all my strength." Raymond responded in agreement.
"If I was caught in that trap, I wouldn't even have enough time to think let alone save two other people." Daniel's high pitched voice responded. "We all thought he was just a kid but he's way too skilled, he's probably a dwarf or something, his mutant gene probably didn't activate until recently and all the skills he acquired were amplified." The rest of the group absently nodded, not wanting to even think about a little kid beating them not once but twice.
"We've never faced anything like this, this Spider-Man has obviously been downplaying his abilities, what I mistake for inexperience was him holding back! We have one more day to take this guy out before the Kingpin takes us out!" Montana's voice came out cold, a harshness that hadn't been seen much. "This 'bug'!" His face twisted into a ugly scowl. "Will not get the better of us! We are the Enforcers! We've taken on at least a hundred Mutant targets for dozens of governments, all highly trained, and highly dangerous! Spider-Man is no match for us!" He roared at his partners who nodded with confidant smiles.
"Let's change the rules of the game. He wants to play the hero, then let's show him why Captain America was the only Superhero in the last seventy years!" The black skinned man said with arrogance surrounding him. "He obviously cares about people, he willingly got shot for two strangers! One a criminal no less! So let's put the people in danger!" Raymond stepped forward slightly.
"Let's pull out all the stops, every flash grenade, sonic noise inducers, poison gas! Let's overwhelm his 'danger sense'!" The Enforcers nodded.
…
The afternoon seemed to be getting longer for the arachnid themed hero, especially after his second tussle with the assassination group.
Peter did look Kingpin up but like detective Stacy said, all was said was he or she was a rumor and that no one could have the power to unite the criminal underworld like what was being insinuated.
'Spider-Sense.' "BOOM!" Spider-Man almost lost his handle on the web rope he swung from as a three story apartment building blew up with hardly a thought, the spider themed vigilante smashed his way in and as the smoke entered his nostrils began choking.
"Ohh, your lungs must be burning." Montana spoke from across the room, his black mask had an air purifying device layered on top. "Aren't I glad you took this room, on this floor, I guess I'm just lucky like that." The Texan raised two pistols and fired.
The red and blue spandex hero dodged the first bullet but the second hit him in his left thigh. As the villian kept shooting, more bullets pierced him.
WIth two quick timed and well aimed shots, the guns were webbed up and unable to shoot.
Spider-Man was about to retreat, realizing if the other two decided to rush in here and fight he would lose but was quickly called back, "Whoa Spidey! You're just going to leave the hostages!" The boy hero could hear the grin in his voice. "You better hurry!" Taking a moment Spider-Man realized his three teammates were probably stationed on all the floors, each having their own hostages to keep him breathing the air.
Without a word or an agony filled breath, a web hit Montana on the chest and was pulled to the small hero he was quickly wrapped in a cocoon.
With a quick yank, Spider-Man pulled the device off Montana's mask and layered it over his own before taking a deep breath and quickly sputtering and fell to his knees. "HA! Did you think I was stupid? Me and the Enforcers are immune, you better hurry Web-Head, you're only lasting as long as you are because of your freakish biology but any secon-" The bug-like lens of Peter's mask widened at his words before narrowing, with a pull of the older brunette's mask, it ripped off revealing the wide eye look of the assassin, "Fuck!" Spider-Man threw Montana out of the window, the only thing saving him was a quick line of webbing.
Spider-Man clumsy pulled his own mask off and put Montana's on, as he walked into the hallway, the boy unfocused his hearing and slowly refocused until only the heartbeats in the complex entered his ear, thirty were low, barely even there, ten of the thirty were each level of the floors but two were going strong and steady, stationed near two of the three groups.
Spider-Man crawled against the hardwood floor with barely any strength, his new mask helping but not as much as he thought it would, the only thing keeping him steady was everyone's heartbeats. 'Ben give me strength!' The masked brunette shakily stood up and slammed the door open, seeing a group of ten people laying around, passed out.
Walking up to a window and smashing it open. He looked out the hole in the wall to the concrete floor where the cops and ambulances were parked, looking up.
The hero began shooting out web strands from the floor to the window until a slide was made, Spider-Man then took the ten civilians one by one and slid them down until the apartment floor was cleared.
As he cleared the thrid floor, the spider themed vigilante almost thought about taking the stairs to the second but realized how stupid that was. Spider-Man fell to his knees and punched the floor shattering it, making him fall.
As the hero laid on his back, his lungs wheezing in effort but unable to gather air properly, the masked brown eyed boy stood up and limped to the room, filled with hostages.
Spider-Man's strength began whanning, his will almost nonexistent but he kept walking until he shakingly entered the room, a moment later a high pitch noise came from every side of the apartment and Spidey almost passed out. The arachnid themed hero didn't even feel his Spider-Sense when it warned him of danger.
"BAM!" A hit to the jaw, "BAM!" A kick to the chest. "BAM!" His ribs creaked.
The spider powered hero was barely holding onto consciousness but as he finally paid attention enough to his sixth sense, he rolled out of the way from the fourth attack and webbed the feet of the slim assassin, another shot and hands followed their feet.
The Web-Head quickly silenced the speakers with gums of webbing before punching the window letting the posionness smoke escape, with practiced quickness from a floor earlier, Spider-Man created another slide, getting everyone to safety, even the bouncing asshole who had been trying to kill him.
With his excellent memory of where the last hostages were, the vigilante smashed his fist against the floor for the second time and entered the apartment room below him, quickly jogging to the final hostages, his breathing becoming more even, 'Thank god.'
As the red and blue hero opened the door, he felt his sixth sense buzz and ducked under a fist until a blinding white light destroyed his vision.
'Aga-' Spider-Man felt his teeth cave in as a straight punch struck him. The punches didn't stop and the larger than life man didn't let up on his flash grenade strategy, 'just punch straight, Peter!' The vigilante yelled to himself as he felt another punch to his chest which he reciprocated with a punch to the stomach that immediately downed the giant man.
