Chapter 1: The Lone Dinosaur

Sense the very beginning of our world, there have been wonderful stories about how life began. There are tales of how the Bright Circle gave birth to the lesser lights of the dark times which watch over us as we sleep. And many ways of explaining how our world itself was formed. And how the first strange and wonderful creatures came to walk upon the land.

"Which of the stories are really true Grandpa?" Littlefoot asked.

It was revealed that he and the others were at a small pit of fire water that was lighting the place up a bit as Grandpa was seen telling a story to them.

"Ha ha. No one knows Littlefoot. That's why it's one of the greatest mysteries of life." Grandpa answered.

"Yeah. But,"

"Littlefoot!" Cera shouted.

"Please do not interpt." Said Ducky.

"Me no like it when you erupt ether." Said Petrie.

"Anyway," Grandpa continued. "Great herds began to appear on the land. The Longnecks. The Fast-runners. The Two-claws. The Three-horns."

Just then, a pare of young Three-horn twins showed up and began to hop on top of Cera.

"Dana. Dhina."

"Tweeny hornsy."

"Hiya."

"Calm down you two or Aunty Cera's gonna be upset." Cera said to them.

"Oooh. Aunty Cera." Chomper teased. Earning an angry glair from her. Just Grandpa began to continue.

"In their migrations across the land, the herds have found the most beautiful fertile place in the world."

"The Great Valley." Said Ruby.

"Yes. And life in The Great Valley was good. Until one day, The Great Sharptooth came. He was not just any old Sharptooth. But the most vishes and meanest Sharptooth ever."

That got Littlefoot and Chomper afraid. That had to be the same Sharptooth that killed their mothers.

"However, Just as he was about to get a bite on a Longneck and her child, The Lone Dinosaur appeared on the horizon."

"The who?" Littlefoot asked.

"The what?" Chomper asked.

"The Lone Dinosaur."

"But what is a Lone," Ducky tried to ask. Only for Petrie to grab her beak.

"Shh." He hushed her so Grandpa can continue.

"It was a spentaciler battle no one has ever seen before. A Lone Leaf-eater taking on a Sharptooth."

The Lone Dinosaur and The Great Sharptooth were circling around each other. Just as The Lone Dinosaur swang his tail on Sharptooth's face. Making him roar in pain.

The Sharptooth wasn't giving up yet. Just as he charged at The Lone Dinosaur. However, The Lone Dinosaur managed to dodge the attack and knock Sharptooth onto a rock.

But just as it seemed like The Lone Dinosaur was gonna win, Sharptooth quickly recovered and scratched The Lone Dinosaur on his left eye. Leaving a scar on his side. And then Sharptooth knocked him over.

However, the Lone Dinosaur had another trick up in his tail. he wapped his tail around Sharptooth's leg and knocked him over to another rock and smashed it to peace's. And just as Sharptooth got back up, The Lone Dinosaur wapped his tail around him again. And then sent him down a gorge with a huge CRASH! The day was won.

Everyone in the valley cheered for the Lone Dinosaur as mother nuzzled their children happily. However, the Lone Dinosaur wasn't gonna stay as he began to walk away.

"Wait!" A young Longneck called to him. "Come back!"

The Lone Dinosaur just gave him a sad look before departing. Just as soddenly as he appeared, the Lone Dinosaur went away

"That's it?" Chomper asked.

"He just leave?" Petrie also asked.

"Nobody ever saw him again?" Littlefoot asked as well.

"Well," Grandpa continued. "They do say that not long after the defeat of The Great Sharptooth,"

Everyone in the valley now having dinner now that The Great Sharptooth is gone. But then, soddenly, the ground began to rumble.

"Earthshake!" The residents shouted.

Everyone began to ran out of the valley and into The Mysterious Beyond. Dodging falling tree and sliding rocks along the way.

But as they got there, a huge hole began to form on the ground. And before anyone knew it. A huge rock began to rise from it. And it was getting higher and higher. Until it came to a stop.

Everyone was surprised. The rock was in the shape of a Longneck. It was the most amazing thing they have ever seen.

"So they called it, Saurus Rock. And it's there to this very day." Grandpa said as he pointed to it over at the side of the valley. "Some times when the wind is just right and blows away the sky puffies, you can see it watching over The Great Valley. Watching over as like The Lone Dinosaur did so many years ago. If you look very closely, you can see the circle of teeth around its neck."

"Real teeth?" Ruby asked.

"The legend tells that they come from the same Sharptooth The Lone Dinosaur defeated." Grandpa answered.

That got the young Three-horn twins to shiver in fear. Which got Cera something into her head.

"They say at some nights, you can see the ghost of that Sharptooth looking for its teeth!" She said as she roared at the twins and scared them. Earning laughter from the others.

"Scarry Dana?"

"Dhina no no."

"Uh uh."

Even Grandpa laughed at Cera's joke.

"Well. I've never heard that part of the legend. But they do say if anything ever happened to Saurus Rock, bad luck will desend upon The Great Valley."

"Is it really true?" Cera asked.

"Well, it's a grand adventure and a really good story. And it's great to think that somewhere out there is a Lone Dinosaur watching us all. But no one knows if it's true or not."

"Grandpa Longneck." Grandma said as she walked over. "Are you filling those children's heads full of nonsense? And especially right before bedtime?"

"Why no. I just said no one knows if it's true or not."

"Yes. I know. But it's late. Time for little ones to be in the nest."

Cera sighed. "Alright. Come on you two."

"No uppies." Said Dhina.

"Dinha, Dana sleepy." Said Dana.

"Fine. Hop on."

And they did. Just as Dhina ended up pulling on Cera's horn.

"OW! Don't yank my horn! It's atatched you know!"

But on the way back, Cera was beginning to wonder. Could the story really be true?

"Nah. It couldn't. Daddy wouldn't like it if I did believe it."

Without another word, Cera took the twins back to the nest.
