Chapter 3: Legend of The Lone Dinosaur
Later, Doc was seen eating some lunch. However, Cera was also there. She was still amazed from Doc rescuing her. Cera kept her ditintce from him for a while. But of course, Doc was still able to see her.
"Hello kid." He said.
"Hi. I just wanted to say thanks again for saving my life."
"No problem."
"Hey." Cera began to say. "If you want more tree-stars, there's a big grove of them,"
"Down by the watering hole. Passed the Sheltering Grass." Doc cut her off.
"How'd you know?" Cera asked.
"Been here before."
Cera then watched as Doc used his tail to cut off a high peace of the tree and send a leaf down. She was now even more amazed than before. Until she saw the scar on his right eye.
"Where'd you get that scar?" She asked.
"Cut myself."
"On what? Was it a tooth? A dangerous Sharptooth?"
"Kid. I think I hear your friends calling." Doc said, not wanting to answer what Cera had asked.
"Me too." She said. "I need to watch the twins anyway. I'll see you later."
With that said, Cera made her way to the others.
"Oh boy."
Meanwhile, the rest of the gang were seen at a pool of bubbling brown goo. Sense it was nothing like the Tar Pits or the Sinking Sands, it was safe for them to play in.
Petrie was seen looking at one of the bubbles. Until it popped and splashed goo on his safe.
"Yuck." He said. Until, "Hey. Me face feel softer already."
"Come on." Said Chomper. "Last one across is Red Claw Bate."
By then, Littlefoot and Ruby joined in with Chomper by hopping across the bubbles. As did Dinah and Dana as well.
However, Littlefoot cought sight of the the twins making his way over to him.
"Whoa! Look out!" He shouted.
But it was too late. The twins had pushed him into the mud.
SPLASH!
Littlefoot stepped out of the mud at the side of the pool. He watched as Ducky hopped across the bubbles and Spike trying to hop on one but only for it to pop.
"Littlefooty mad at us?" Dinah asked as he and Dana walked over.
"No. It's alright." He said to them.
Just then, Cera walked over.
"Hey guys. Guess what." She said.
"What?" Chomper asked.
"I just figured out who Doc is." Cera answered.
"I thought you already knew." Littlefoot said to her.
"I do. He's the lone dinosaur."
"We know. He is a lone dinosaur. Yes yes yes." Said Ducky.
"Not a lone dinosaur. The Lone Dinosaur. The one who saved The Great Valley from The Great Sharptooth."
"Hmm. I don't know." said Ruby. "we don't know if it's true or not because Littlefoot's grandpa said nobody knows if it's true or not."
"I seriously guys. Listen." Cera said as she began to talk about The Lone Dinosaur.
(Song start)
Cera: Long ago on a mountain top a mighty egg was laid. Burned by the light of the circle of bright and cooled by the forest shade. Then one stormy evening when the icy rain did poor, out of the egg appeared the egg of The Lone Dinosaur.
His neck was long and limber, his shoulders brond and lean. His eye was high as the morning sky and his vision it was keen. He wondered strong and silent across the valley floor. And everybody called him, The Lone Dinosaur.
Dinosaur.
His tail was swift as lighting.
Dinosaur.
His heart was brave and pare.
Dinosaur.
Whenever times were frightening, call his name and he'll be there for sure.
Lone Dinosaur.
One day when he was roaming lone out in the west. A vicious pack of Sharpteeth came and gobbled up his nest. He tracked that park of varmints and fought them by the score. He left them lying toothless.
Petrie: Toothless.
Cera: And he gave a mighty roar.
All: Dinosaur.
Cera: He promised his protection.
All: Dinosaur.
Littlefoot: To the helpless and the poor.
All: Dinosaur.
Chomper: Whenever there was danger, they'd never be defenceless anymore. This is swore. The Lone Dinosaur.
All: Dinosaur.
Ducky: His tail is swift as lightning.
All: Dinosaur.
Ruby: His heart is brave and pure.
All: Dinosaur.
Petrie: Whenever times are frightening, he'll be there to fight the carnivore. The Lone Dinosaur.
All: Yee-haw!
(Song end)
"Well?" Cera asked. "What do you think?"
"Wow. The Lone Dinosaur." Said Ducky.
"Right here in The Great Valley." Said Petrie.
"Hey!" Came the voice of Topps as he walked over. "What's all this nonsense about?"
"It's not nonsense Dad." Said Cera, "I know he's The Lone Dinosaur."
"What? You're telling me you believe that Longneck nonsense?"
"It's not nonsense! I know Doc is The Lone Dinosaur!"
"Even if that story is true, it can't be that Longneck! The real Lone Dinosaur wouldn't still be alive!"
"But The Great Sharptooth was and we've met him! In fact, I bet if you even got a good close look at Saurus Rock, you'd see it looks just like Doc!"
"Hump! You need to grow up Cera! And you should be watching the twins as well!"
Without another world, Topps walked away.
"But it's true. I know it has to be Doc."
"Wow. This is so unlike you Cera." Said Chomper. "You don't normally believe in this stuff."
"Chomper's right." Said Littlefoot. "What's gotten into you? And besides, Grandpa said nobody knows if the story is true or not."
Cera just gave them a look on her face before saying,
"Maybe if any of you went and found Saurus Rock yourselves, you'd see I am telling the truth."
That gave Dinah and Dana an idea.
"Dinah. We go go. Sorry Rocky." Dana whispered to him.
"Findy findy now."
"Come on you two." Cera said to them as she got them onto her back. "You don't wanna make Grandpa Topps more upset than he already is. It's even scarier than a dangerous Sharptooth."
That night, Cera had returned to her nesting ground before letting the twins down.
"Promise me you'll behave until morning." She said to them.
"We promsy." They said to her.
"Good." Cera said before dropping to sleep.
But as she did, the twins wondered off.
