Chapter 5: Not very smart

Later, the gang found themselves wandering the forest of tall red trees. Littlefoot was amazed at how high the tree stars were.

"Wow. Not even Grandpa can reach those tree-stars."

"My dad could." Said Cera.

"How?" Petrie asked.

"The Three-horn way. He'd just knock it right over."

"One of these trees? I don't think so." Said Chomper.

"Oh yeah? Well watch this."

Cera then charged at one of the tree trunks as she rammed it. But it didn't move as she got knocked back a bit.

"Not much but you gave it a good try." Said Ruby.

"Wow. That sure didn't feel like a tree trunk." Cera said as she got up.

"It no look like tree trunk nether." Said Petrie.

"It also doesn't move like a tree trunk." Said Littlefoot.

"And it does not sound like a tree trunk." Said Ducky. "No no...,"

It wasn't a tree trunk. It was the Forest Sharptooth that got stuck as it freed itself and saw thw gang.

"NOOOOOOOO!" Ducky finished as the gang ran away screaming.

"It is not a tree trunk!" Chomper shouted.

Without another word, the gang quickly ran past another pare of tree together. After they all got passed them, the Forest Sharptooth tried to follow. But the space was too thick and he couldn't fit through.

Once they were safe, the gang stopped to catch their brath.

"Boy. It's a good thing Dangerous Sharpteeth aren't very smart." Said Chomper.

Just then, they found something intresting in front of them. Very intresting. It was Saurus Rock. All of them gasped at the sight.

"Wow. Saurus Rock does look like Doc." Said Cera.

"Sort of." Said Littlefoot.

But then, Cera gasped.

"Look. There's the twins."

She was right. Dinah and Dana were seen all the way on the top.

"Cerry Cerry. Looky. Usy high. Wee."

"Uh, what did the little dears say?" Cera asked Ruby.

"They said, Look at them. They're high up on the top."

"Yeah! So be carful!" Cera shouted to the twins.

But the twins didn't hear her. They were too bissy having fun. So much fun in fact, that they started rolling on themselves onto each other close to the ledge.

"I said be carful!" Cera shouted again. But they still didn't listen. "Hang on! We're coming!"

With that said, the gang began to climb up Saurus Rock to make their way to the twins who continued to roll near the ledge. Of course, Spike couldn't climb because of his weight and that the path was slippery as he fell down on his back.

Meanwhile, Petrie flew up to the top to see the twins getting closer to the ledge.

"Roll other way! Roll other way!" He shouted. But the twins still didn't listion.

"Hold on! Aunty Cera's comming!" Cera shouted as she got to the Sharptooth teeth.

Soddenly, the twins had rolled off the edge and fell down. Luckily, they landed on Cera's back. But that caused her to lose her balince and almost slip off the tooth she was on. She held onto it, only for it to crack and fall off Saurus Rock with them still on it.

Spike gasped as he saw the tooth heading tords him. But luckily, it missed him. Making him sigh in releath. Just before the tooth crumbled into peaces.

"Uh oh. Oops!" The twins exlaimed.

"Oh no. Dad's gonna kill me." Said Cera.

On the way back, Cera and the twins couldn't help be feel responsible for their actions at Saurus Rock.

"Sad Dana?"

"Boohoo Dinah."

"Wah."

"It's all my fault." Said Cera. "If I hadn't talked about what Saurus Rock looked like, this wouldn't have happened."

"I still can't believe that you believed in The Lone Dinosaur." Said Littlefoot.

"I still believe he is." Cera said to him as they stopped. "Nobody say anything about what happened to my dad. Okay?"

However, the others saw the Forest Sharptooth had returned and was behind Cera.

"You don't wanna see Dad when he's mad. It's even scarier than,"

"A SHARPTOOTH!" Ruby shouted.

"No. I think a Dangerous Sharptooth is scarier than that."

"No Cera. Really. Behind you." Littlefoot said to her.

"Come on. Don't try that old gag on me."

"Bu-hu-hu-hut. Bu-hu-hu-hut." Petrie tried to say. But was too afraid to do it.

"Okay, nice try Petrie. You almost sound like a Dangerous Sharptooth."

Just then, the Forest Sharptooth had its mouth over her head as it drooled on her.

"Hey. Are we getting some Sky-water?" She asked as she looked up. Until, "AAAAHHHH! SHARPTOOTH DROOL!"

The Forest Sharptooth tried to bite her. But she moved away in time as she and the rest of the gang ran away.

"Yuck! It spit on me!"

"It pick its teeth with you if you no hurry." Said Petrie.

"Quick! In there!" Chomper shouted as he pointed to a fallen log.

Without another world, the gang quickly ran into the log. Making the Forest Sharptooth lose sight of them.

"Chomper, it is a good thing that Dangerous Sharpteeth are not very smart. It is. It is." Said Ducky.

"It dark in here." Said Petrie.

However, the Forest Sharptooth found a hole on top of the log and poled his eye through it.

"Hey. What is this?" Ruby asked as she poked her head out the hole. But, "AAAHHH!"

The got the Forest Sharptooth to roar as he grabbed the log and began to shake it to make the gang fall out. Until he tossed it over to the big ditch and it fell on the top of the ledge before falling. But the ledge of the ditch was thick enough to catch it and keep it in place.

"Great. Where are we now?" Cera asked.

"Me no know but it still dark." Said Petrie.

"I hope we're not in his tummy." Said Lttlefoot.

"Yucky yucky." The twins said disgusted.

"It no look like tummy." Petrie said as he poked his head out of the hole on top of the log. "Me no see Sharptooth at all."

He then looked and saw that the log was really staying in place.

"Hey. No problem. You guys can walk right cross big ditch."

With that said, the twins moved out of the hold and looked at how high they were. They were amazed.

"Pay attention. We're going that way." Cera said as she pushed them to the path back to The Great Valley.

Ruby followed after Cera. Then Littlefoot. Then Ducky who looked over the edge and,

"AAHH!"

It was a long way down. She didn't want to fall.

"Hey. You swimmer right?" Petrie asked. "Way down there, there is skinny little river you land in. Maybe."

He was right. There was a skinny river down there. But it didn't look like she would land in it if she did fall.

"Oh thank you. I feel so much better now." She said feeling annoyed before walking on.

Chomper was the next one to come out. And Spike was last. But he couldn't get out.

"Come on Spike." Chomper said to him. "Easy boy. Easy boy. You're not stuck are you?"

But then, his eyes went wide as he saw that the Forest Sharptooth had found them and was right behind them.

"You don't know how sorry I am." He said.

Spike then turned around to see the Forest Sharptooth behind him. Making him panic as he tried to free himself faster now. But he still wouldn't move.

"Come on Spike!" The others shouted to him.

Chomper then grabbed Spike's face and tried to pull him free but he was too heavy. Fortently, Petrie flew by and helped to try and free Spike by pulling his neck with his feet.

Until, he gasped as he saw that the Forest Sharptooth was closing in. Without hesitating, he flew behind Spike and began to push him. And that freed him as the Sharptooths attack missed.

"RUN!" Chomper shouted as they ran to the others.

The Sharptooth tried to bite them again. But missed and only bit the log. The moment Chomper and Spike and Petrie were on the other side, the log snapped apart do to the Sharptooth biting it making it weaker. All of them watched as the Sharptooth fell down the big ditch.

"Wow." Said Ruby.

The Bright Circle began to set as the gang returned to The Great Valley. They were exhosted after having to find the twins.

"What a day." Said Cera. "I thought we'd never get home. But the good news is that we got the twins back and Dad doesn't know they ran away."

"Ran away?"

Cera went wide eyed the moment she saw Topps standing in front of the gang.

"What do you mean Cera? Did the twins really run away?"

"Well, sort of. For a little while. But they didn't go far." Cera lied. But,

"Usy go go."

"Sorry Rocky."

"Far far. Braky."

"Saurus Rock? Far out in The Mysterious Beyond? And you broke it?"

"Your dad speaks twin?" Littlefoot asked.

"I can't believe it! This is your third and final strike Cera! I gave you one job to watch the twins and you failed! I am very disapointed at you. Now you march yourself home right now. Losing the twins and braking Saurus Rock. I've never heard of such a thing. It's abserve."

"Me and my big mouth." Cera said to herself.

"Do not worry Cera." Said Ducky. "It's only bad luck. Like Littlefoot's grandfather said. First we have bad luck. Then the whole Great Valley will have bad luck. Then the whole dinosaur world will have bad luck. Then maybe even the whole universe will have bad luck."

Cera began to feel uneasy the moment Ducky said that.

"She's right. Bad luck."
