Chapter 8: On Your Own
Cera watched as Dinah and Dana were pushing a rock with both of them on oppesit sides as she helped the others pile up some sticks.
"Why is everybody blaming Doc? It's not his fault." Said Chomper.
"We know who caused the bad luck Chomper." Said Cera. "And it wasn't Doc. It was us."
"I know." Said Littlefoot. "But the grown-ups won't listen."
"Yeah. They all say it Doc's fault." Said Petrie.
"They will not listen to us even if we tell them. No no no." Said Ducky.
"But we can't just let them blame him. They'll end up chasing him away. I don't want him to leave."
"Sorry. But there really isn't anything to do about it. Anything to do about it, there really isn't." Said Ruby.
"Yes there is. I can fix it." Cera said she walked away.
"Was it something we said?" Chomper asked.
"I'm not gonna let Doc take the blame for all this." Cera said she made her way up The Great Wall. "I'm gonna have to do what a Lone Dinosaur is gonna have to do. I'll change what I can. And fix Saurus Rock. I wonder if all the other lone dinosaurs talk out loud like this. They must. It'll be too quiet."
As Cera made her way across the forest, she began to have fun being alone.
(Song start)
"When you're on your own. Life is so exciting.
When you're on your own. The world is big and wide.
You can do what you want. And go where you like.
With just your shadow by your side.
When you're on your own. You can yell and laugh and holler.
When you're on your own. You're feeling strong and free.
You can play all night and sleep all day.
And be whatever you want to be.
You can be a hero. Bold and brave.
With lots of grand adventures. And the whole world to save."
Soddenly, as The Bright Circle got blocked up by sky-puffies, Cera was starting to have second thoughts about going out all alone. She was starting to miss the others.
"When you're on your own. You have to be the grown-up.
Because there's no one there to tell you what to do.
But you miss your friends when day light ends.
And there's no one there to care for you.
It's kind of lonely...
When you're on your own.
When you're on your own.
On you're own."
(Song end)
Without stopping, Cera continued to make her way to the big ditch.
Meanwhile, the rest of the gang was finishing up cleaning up the valley. As the finished their pile of sticks, Littlefoot began to say,
"I'm worried about Cera. She really believes we caused this bad luck."
"I know." Chomper said as he and Spike tossed sticks into the air.
However, that stick had hit Kosh's pile and made them fall on top of them.
"Petrie believe. Bad luck real." He said.
"Okay. What did Cera say before she left?" Ruby asked.
"Well, she said she was gonna fix it." Said Ducky.
"Fix what?" Chomper asked.
"The bad luck." Said Littlefoot. "She said that we casued it by braking off the Sharptooth tooth from Saurus Rock."
What he just said made all of them gasped.
"Uh oh." Chomper said before turning to Dinah and Dana. "You two wait with Littlefoot's Grandma. We've got something we need to do."
With that said, the gang ran off to find Cera. Leaving the twins confused.
At the big ditch, Cera was walking to the ledge as she looked around for the Forest Sharptooth that fell down.
"Now let's see. Where is he?" She asked as she looked for him. Until, "There he is. Right where he landed."
She was right. The Forest Sharptooth was seen still out cold. Fortently, Cera found a narro path leading down to the bottom and followed it down. Once or twice she nearly slipped off as some rocks fell. But she managed to stay on.
"I just need to pick one tooth from him. Just one tooth. And then stick it back onto Saurus Rock. Then all the bad luck will end. And Doc can stay."
