-Spring Plains-

The battle was finally over as Kamek dragged his unconscious leader away and ordered the Koopa Troop to retreat. Exhaustion finally caught up to him as he stumbled backwards.

"Mario!" Peach cried diving on her knees catching him before he fell to the ground.

"P-Peach...I kept my promise." he grinned. Tears fell in the blonde princess's eyes as she held him closer.

"Yes you did. We all did." she muttered under her breath.

Her people were safe from harm since she took the throne from a very young age Peach knew that some did doubt her leadership. But the princess worked consistently every day to make her people proud, just like her mother did before her.

"Your Highness, we should head back to the town so a doctor can check Mario's injuries." Rosette said to the princess.

"No need, he's just sleeping. Why don't you make sure the others are doing well?" Peach asked.

"Right away Your Highness." the commander saluted as she ran off while Luigi helped her carry Mario down to the beach.

-Corona's Peak-

"Nice shot Link!" Navi cheered, hugging the young man's cheek.

"Thanks." he smiled as the fairy sat on his shoulder. The cannon was nothing more than broken rumble now and the koopa soldiers were long gone. He walked over to his childhood friend and handed the bag of ancient arrows.

"You can keep this, I have a few left over." Lee said

"Thanks. Man these ancient arrows are great, did you develop these?" he asked.

"Sort of. Robbie helped me out too." the princess told him

.

"So what should we do now? I mean, should we continue looking for the crystal star now?" the fairy asked.

"What's a crystal star?" Ax asked confused

"I think we should head back and look for the others?" Daisy suggested.

"That's a good idea." Navi agreed.

Just then Rosette came running over to them with a huge smile on her face."Glad to see you all among the living!" Rosette cheered.

"Really? That's what you say?" Ax groaned looking at his fellow commander unimpressed.

Everybody laughed at the two commanders arguing with each other. It's been two days, but it felt like two hundred years passed by within the timespan. The group made their way to the jet all in good cheer, but Lee was oddly falling behind the others. There was a painful throbbing in her head as chills ran down her arms. She tried to close in pain as her strength began to slip away. . Her head was killing her like someone was pounding a hammer in her skull.

Shaking her head and trying to pick up the pace to keep up with the rest of the group. Link noticed her falling behind and he moved over to her. "Hey are you okay?" he frowned, checking her forehead.

She felt like she was on fire.

The hyrulean princess gasps in pain pushing her bangs slightly, revealing a large scar on her forehead. Her eyes rolled to the back of her head and collapsed as darkness consumed her.

"What should we do?!"

"We gotta take her to the hospital!"

-Delfino Hospital-

Lee woke up lying on the bed unconscious, hooked up to several monitors. The doctor was a middle-aged toad wearing glasses. He looked at the bed before scribbling away on his clipboard.

"Hey, Doc. Is she going to be okay?" Link asked with the others not too far behind me.

"Well, she doesn't have any injuries, but she has a very high fever. Did you notice anything odd about her? " the doctor added, but they all shook their heads. North was perfectly fine.

"Maybe I was injured during the Bowser or Kamek." Peach suggested.

"Doubt it. The royal family were trained in self defense by the Sheikah, one of the warriors in the world." Navi said.

"There aren't any injuries so perhaps she just needs some rest." the doctor said, looking at the sleeping girl.

~Deep in Lee's Mind~

The mysterious blonde found herself in the darkness of space."Where am I?" she asked.

"Spi-ri-you must…..please..…has…come….help us." a mysterious voices echoed throughout the darkness..

"Who are you?" she barked confused

"...th-...bea….."

"What?" she asked, confused, the voices were too soft to completely understand.

"…. Remember …..the…..beast. Please help us"

-Somewhere in the World-

"So, Bowser failed did he?" a sinister male voice echoed throughout the dark walls throughout the enormous palace. Three people wearing dark robes were standing before the man in front of them. In front of the room was a large dark throne with a fireplace behind it. "I'm not surprised that he lost to Mario. AGAIN. How unstylish." a teenage girl's voice groaned

"Shall we proceed with the plan, Lord Grodus?" a man asked quietly.

"Yes, we shall. I wonder how Bowser will respond now?" Grodus pondered.

….

It was morning when the hyrulean princess woke up with a start. "Where am I?" she mumbled while sitting up.

"You fainted, the doctor said you had a really high fever. Thank goodness you're awake, come on tell us what happened ?" Daisy asked.

"I think I just over did it. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to worry you guys. Come on Peach and her dad is about to give her speech." Lee decided not to tell anyone about the dream she had.

In the next hour Peach gave a speech to the Delfino Plaza and the army. There was also a small funeral for the soldiers who lost their lives during the battle and thanked everyone for their bravery. The mayor of the town held a luncheon for the army. The day was filled with the media and the press so they weren't able to climb up the mountain until the next day.

-The Next Day-

"Are you sure you want to go back to Corona Mountain Princess? We're still investigating Bowser's attack." the mayor asked unsurely.

The blonde hair princess nodded. "We have some unfinished business. Don't worry we won't be there long." she assured

"Alright. But be careful."

"Well then let's go gang!" Mario said, leading the group up the mountain to get the crystal star.

-Corona Mountain Floor 6: Corona's Peak-

After two hours of climbing, they finally made it the peak.

Time moves slower when the world is in danger.

Across from them was a blue glowing gate with glistening stars swirling around it. Fi appeared in front of them in a small flash of light. "What is that?" Navi asked

"What you see in front of you is a Trail Gate, milady. In order to get the Diamond Star, the legendary hero partakes in a trial to prove their worth to Her Grace." the spirit answered.

There was a silence before them. With Bowser's attack they forgot that one of them will be awakened as the three Legendary Heroes.

"The powers of the Grand Star of the East have awoken a power deep inside of you. That powers that have awakened inside of you were given to you by Hylia. They are fractions of her power and will stay with you forever." Fi explained.

Fi looked at Mario. "Mario, you are now the embodiment of fire and can create fireballs and control lava and flames."

She looked at Peach. "Peach, you are about to create heart like gem-like projectiles in battle as hard as diamond. And can also create powerful shields to protect yourself and your allies that can restore their energy."

Fi looked at Daisy. "Daisy, the power of nature itself is at your command. Whenever you are in peril, nature shall assist you."

Fi looked at Luigi. "Luigi, the power of the skies and storms is at your command."

Fi looked at Toad. "Toad, you are now able to generate electricity and absorb it from other sources or from lightning itself."

Finally Fi turned to the hylian swordsman. Fi looked at Link. "The Triforce is the ultimate power known to all. As you all know Hylia was the first ever call upon the Triforce and blessed her chosen with the Triforce of Courage from an age long past. Link, you have The Triforce of Courage. This was a power you were born with and a great path lies before you. Use it and let courage Be with you.."

Unbeknownst to anyone Link inwardly bit his lip, while Lee gazed down at her feet both trying to suppress the bad memories that threaten to rise.

"Link...Link...Link."

"There's that voice again." the swordsman muttered

"What voice?" Toad asked

"You mean you don't hear it?" he asked.

"Your trial will begin now ."

A green flower pattern with a glowing center was on the ground, it almost looked like it was painted. A bright green light shouts of the earth and into the sky forcing everyone to shield their eyes.

"What's going on?" Peach exclaimed.

The light dimmed and now it hit Link.

"Link! Are you okay?" Navi asked

"I'm fine. The light's not hurting me, but what is this?" He asked.

The flower patterned began to glow again as a gate made out of sacred light appeared before them. It glittered a soft blue-colored path from the gate stopped directly at Link's feet. Everyone except for the swordsman backed away, but the pathway didn't disappear. Almost like it wanted him to come towards the gate. Link looked towards the gate with an indescribable expression.

"That is a Trail Gates, the portal to the Silent Realm where the Diamond Star resides. Hylia has chosen you. You are the First Legendary Hero. Go now Link, the path has shown itself to you." Fi said.

"What are you talking about?" he asked.

"The voice you've been hearing was the Silent Realm calling out to you. Calling you here." the spirit answered. His blue eyes widened as he remembered something:

Flashback:

"Link...Link...Link."a voice said, rousing the young man out of his sleep.

His eyes were glossed over as he looked out the window towards the mountain as was speaking to him.

"Come, I am here waiting for you. I am here."

Without saying a word he left heading towards the volcano.

End Flashback

"You are the First Legendary Hero and wielder of the Triforce of Courage. Go forth now, enter the Silent Realm. This is your destiny."" Fi spoke

"You can do it, Link." Lee softly encouraged with a soft smile

"Yeah you got this!" Toad cheered

"Show 'em who's boss!"

"Good luck!"

Link felt a warm feeling in his chest. A feeling that died so long ago, now he add new friends In Lee, Peach, Luigi, Mario, Daisy, and Toad cheering him gave him newfound strength. He has a reason to become the First Legendary Hero.

And that was for his friends.

Link and Fi walked up to the gate. "Are you ready? Once you enter you cannot return until you pass the trial or are defeated." Fi explained.

"I'm ready." Link said. He took a deep breath and entered the trail gate. After he went inside the gate completely disappeared. Fi flew over the rest of the group.

"Now we wait."

Author's Note

Hey guys! Sorry for the long hiatus but now that school and the holiday are over I should be able to update again.

And to clarify their abilities. Mario, Peach, Luigi, Toad, and Daisy had been given fractions of the Hylia's powers and they were created thousands of years ago. The Grand Star just gave it to them now because they're looking for the Crystal Stars.

For Link it's different because they were born with their powers. For example, Link always had the Triforce of Courage (following Zelda lore) but it didn't awaken until now while Mario, Peach, Daisy, Luigi, and Toad were given these new powers.

Anyway, Link is the First Legendary Hero! Who are going to be the other two heroes? And will he get the crystal star? Stay tuned!
